3Relationship between Two Blood Stasis Syndromes and Inflammatory Factors in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome显示文摘Objective: To investigate the relationship between inflammatory factors and two Chinese medicine(CM) syndrome types of qi stagnation and blood stasis(QSBS) and qi deficiency and blood stasis(QDBS) in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS). Methods: Sixty subjects with ACS, whose pathogenesis changes belongs to qi disturbance blood stasis syndrome, were divided into 2 groups: 30 in the QSBS group and 30 in the QDBS group. The comparative analysis on them was carried out through comparing general information, coronary angiography and inflammatory factors including intracellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1), chitinase-3-like protein 1(YKL-40) and lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2(Lp-PLA2). Results: Compared with the QSBS group, Lp-PLA2 and YKL-40 levels in the QDBS group showed no-significant difference(P>0.05); ICAM-1 was significantly higher in the QDBS group than in the QSBS group in the pathological processes of qi disturbance and blood stasis syndrome of ACS(P<0.05). 4How Work Organization Affects the Prevalence of WMSDs: A Case-control Study显示文摘Objective In this study, we aimed at exploring the association between work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs) and work organization based on a case-control study. Methods A total of 1938 workers who claimed to suffer from WMSDs were selected from Beijing, Henan, Hubei, and the Guangdong province. The control group consisted of 2009 workers employed in similar industries without severe disease or musculoskeletal discomforts. We used a modified version of the questionnaire developed by the NMQ and the DMQ to investigate individual and work-related factors. Results A total of 13 variables(P<0.1) were selected by the chi-square test and finally, 7 variables entered into the equation, with 6 variables reaching statistical significance(P<0.05). The odds ratios(OR) of ‘work changing with season' and ‘sufficient rest time' did not reach 1(0.749 and 0.441, respectively). In addition, ‘sufficient rest time' seemed to be the stronger protective factor according to its higher standardized coefficient. And ‘repetitive work every minute', ‘constantly repetitive work'(every day), ‘shortage of site personnel', and ‘often switching shifts with others' seemed to be the risk factors. Conclusion Work organization may have comprehensive effects on the occurrence of WMSDs. 5Monitoring disease progression and treatment efficacy with circulating tumor cells in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: A case report显示文摘This study investigated whether changes in circulating tumor cell(CTC) numbers reflect tumor progression and treatment efficacy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC). A 47-year-old male patient with ESCC is presented in this case study. The patient was evaluated for a series of serum tumor markers and subjected to radiological examinations before and after surgery and during follow-up over the course of five years. In addition, the CTCs in 7.5 m L of peripheral blood were enriched by magneticactivated cell sorting negative selection and identified by immunofluorescence staining. Serum tumor markers remained within normal ranges and were discordant with imaging scans during the follow-up. Initially, one CTC was detected in the peripheral blood sample, and 14 were observed seven days after the operation. After 12 wk, subcutaneous metastases and bone metastases occurred, and the number of CTCs increased to 84. After 48 wk, lung metastases were noted, and the CTC level was 21. At 104 wk, the number of CTCs was 14, and disease recurrence was detected by positron emission tomography-computed tomography. The CTC counts were in accord with the imaging studies at several time points. 7APOE and APOC1 gene polymorphisms are associated with cognitive impairment progression in Chinese patients with late-onset Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Current evidence shows that apolipoprotein E(APOE), apolipoprotein CI(APOC1) and low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein(LRP) variations are related to late-onset Alzheimer's disease. However, it remains unclear if genetic polymorphisms in these genes are associated with cognitive decline in late-onset Alzheimer's disease patients. We performed a 30-month longitudinal cohort study to investigate the relationship between Alzheimer's disease and APOE, APOC1, and LRP. In this study, 78 Chinese Han patients with late-onset Alzheimer's disease were recruited form Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China. APOE, APOC1, and LRP genotyping was performed using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms. The Mini-Mental State Examination and Clinical Dementia Rating Scale were used to assess patients' cognitive function. After a 30-month follow-up period, we found a significant reduction in Mini-Mental State Examination total score, a higher proportion of patients fulfilling cognitive impairment progression criteria, and a higher proportion of APOC1 H2 carriers in APOE ε4 carriers compared with non-carriers. In addition, the APOE ε4 allele frequency was significantly higher in the cognitive impairment progression group compared with the non-cognitive impairment progression group. 8Association between single nucleotide polymorphisms on chromosome 17q and the risk of prostate cancer in a Chinese population显示文摘In European populations,7 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) on chromosome 17q,3 SNPs on 17q12,and 4 SNPs on 17q24.3 were recently identified to be closely related to the risk of prostate cancer by a genome-wide association study.In Japanese populations,the correlation between 2 SNPs on 17q and the risk of prostate cancer and tumor aggressiveness was also confirmed by a large-scale experiment.However,whether 17q is associated with prostate cancer and its clinical manifestations in Chinese populations is still unknown.Therefore,we conducted a case-control study in a northern Chinese population and tested 2 SNPs,rs4430796 and rs1859962,on 17q in 124 prostate cancer patients and 111 controls using polymerase chain reaction-high resolution melting curve(PCR-HRM) combined with sequencing.We analyzed the association of the 2 SNPs with the risk of prostate cancer as well as patients' lifestyles,onset ages,Gleason scores,PSA levels,and pathologic stages.We found a significant difference in the G allele of SNP rs1859962(P = 0.035,OR = 1.51,95% CI = 1.03-2.21) but not in the rs4430796 genotype frequency or allele frequency distribution between prostate cancer patients and the controls(P > 0.05).Neither of the SNPs was significantly associated with the onset age,Gleason score,PSA level,pathologic stage,or other clinical indicators of patients with prostate cancer(P > 0.05).Our results show that polymorphism of the G allele of SNP rs1859962 is associated with the risk of prostate cancer in a Chinese population.Chang-Hu Zhou Jian-Ye Wang Su-Yan Cao Xiao-Hong Shi Yao-Guang Zhang Ming Liu Xin wang Jin Huang Yi-Ge Yang Dong Wei Ze Yang 2011Chinese Journal of Cancer2011,30,10:4

11Hydrochemical and isotope characteristics of spring water discharging from Qiushe Loess Section in Lingtai, northwestern China and their implication to groundwater recharge显示文摘The loess plateau in northwestern China with an area of 640 000km^2, which has developed the loess deposits with a thickness up to 200m in typical areas, is regarded as a huge carbon stock like the karst area in southwestern China, and plays an important role in regional(even global) carbon cycle. But the spring discharging from loess is poorly known compared with karst spring so far. The objective of this study is to ascertain the characteristics and origin of spring at Qiushe Village, Lingtai County, Gansu Province by hydro-chemical and isotopic methods. The results show that the springs including LGQ, HMQ, YYQ and CZQ are the depression spring and belong to the same shallow aquifer with the well water JZJ. There are not distinct seasonal/diurnal-scale variations on the hydro-chemical characteristics of the spring water(LGQ, HMQ, YYQ, CZQ) and groundwater(JZJ). The hydro-chemical type of groundwater is Ca·Mg-HCO_3. The D and O isotope ratios indicate that the precipitation is the main recharge source of groundwater in study area. And the results of tritium(TU) and Cl concentration suggest that the recharge cycle of groundwater may be more than 60 yrs. 12Uptake of gas-phase alkylamines by sulfuric acid显示文摘Recent field and experimental studies have suggested that acid-base reactions of alkylamines may play an important role in secondary aerosol formation. We investigated the heterogeneous chemistry of ethylamine (EA), diethylamine (DEA) and triethylamine (TEA) on liquid H2SO4 (1 wt%–80 wt%). Irreversible reactive uptakes were observed for all three alkylamines. The reactive uptake coefficients (γ ) of alkylamines increased with the acid concentration, and the γ value for DEA appeared to increase slightly faster than that of EA and TEA. 19Amisulpride augmentation therapy improves cognitive performance and psychopathology in clozapine‑resistant treatment‑refractory schizophrenia:a 12‑week randomized,double‑blind,placebo‑controlled trial显示文摘Background:Although clozapine is an effective option for treatment-resistant schizophrenia(TRS),there are still 1/3 to 1/2 of TRS patients who do not respond to clozapine.The main purpose of this randomized,double-blind,placebocontrolled trial was to explore the amisulpride augmentation efficacy on the psychopathological symptoms and cognitive function of clozapine-resistant treatment-refractory schizophrenia(CTRS)patients.Methods:A total of 80 patients were recruited and randomly assigned to receive initial clozapine plus amisulpride(amisulpride group)or clozapine plus placebo(placebo group).Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS),Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms(SANS),Clinical Global Impression(CGI)scale scores,Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status(RBANS),Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS),laboratory measurements,and electrocardiograms(ECG)were performed at baseline,week 6,and week 12.Results:Compared with the placebo group,amisulpride group had a lower PANSS total score,positive subscore,and general psychopathology subscore at week 6 and week 12(PBonferroni<0.01).Furthermore,compared with the placebo group,the amisulpride group showed an improved RBANS language score at week 12(PBonferroni<0.001).Amisulpride group had a higher treatment response rate(P=0.04),lower scores of CGI severity and CGI efficacy at week 6 and week 12 than placebo group(PBonferroni<0.05).There were no differences between the groups in body mass index(BMI),corrected QT(QTc)intervals,and laboratory measurements.This study demonstrates that amisulpride augmentation therapy can safely improve the psychiatric symptoms and cognitive performance of CTRS patients.Ming‑Huan Zhu Zhen‑Jing Liu Qiong‑Yue Hu Jia‑Yu Yang Ying Jin Na Zhu Ying Huang Dian‑Hong Shi Min‑Jia Liu Hong‑Yang Tan Lei Zhao Qin‑Yu Lv Zheng‑Hui Yi Feng‑Chun Wu Ze‑Zhi Li 2023Military Medical Research2023,10,4:1
