1Insights into the influence of temperature on the adsorption behavior of sodium oleate and its response to flotation of quartz显示文摘Temperature affects the flotation of quartz in the calcium/sodium oleate(Na OL)system,while there is a lack of understanding of its potential mechanism.Therefore,in this work,the flotation response of quartz to temperature was investigated via micro-flotation experiments,interface property analyses,and theoretical calculations.Flotation results demonstrated that increasing temperature contributed to higher flotation recovery of quartz,which enhanced the removal of quartz from hematite.Surface tension results revealed that higher temperatures lowered the critical micelle concentration(CMC)and surface tension of the Na OL solution,and thus enhanced its surface activity.Solution chemistry calculations and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)measurements confirmed that the increased content of Ca(OH)+achieved by increasing temperatures enhanced the adsorption amounts of calcium species(acting as activation sites)on the quartz surface.Dynamic light scattering(DLS)measurements verified that the association degree of RCOOàto form(RCOO)22àwas strengthened.Furthermore,adsorption density measurements and molecular dynamics(MD)simulations confirmed that increasing the temperature facilitated Na OL adsorption toward the surface of the quartz,which was attributed to the stronger interaction between Na OL and the calcium-activated quartz surface at higher temperatures.As a result,quartz flotation was improved by increasing temperatures.Accordingly,a possible adsorption model was proposed.Shaohang Cao Wanzhong Yin Bin Yang Zhanglei Zhu Haoran Sun Qiuyue Sheng Keqiang Chen 2022International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,2:4
2Effects of Exogenous 5-Aminolevulinic Acid and 24-Epibrassinolide on Cd Accumulation in Rice from Cd-Contaminated Soil显示文摘High grain-Cd-accumulating rice variety Yongyou 9 was planted in Cd-contaminated farmland in Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, China to study the effects of 5-aminolevulinic acid(ALA) and24-epibrassinolide(EBR) on Cd accumulation in brown rice. Results showed that the exogenous ALA and EBR had no significant effects on agronomic traits, soil pH and total Cd content in soil, but had some effects on the available Cd content in soil, and significantly influenced the Cd accumulation in the different parts of rice. Results also showed that 100 mg/L exogenous ALA significantly reduced the Cd accumulation in brown rice to blow the food safety standard(0.2 mg/kg), and also significantly reduced the Cd contents in the roots and culm of rice. However, 200 mg/L exogenous ALA treatment increased the Cd content in brown rice remarkably. In addition, 0.15 mg/L EBR treatment increased Cd accumulation in roots, culm, leaves and brown rice notably, whereas 0.30 mg/L exogenous EBR treatment reduced the Cd accumulation in brown rice properly, but it was not significant. 4Rapid report of seismic damage to buildings in the 2022 M 6.8 Luding earthquake,China显示文摘The report summarizes the observed damage to a variety of buildings near the epicenter of the M6.8 Luding earthquake in Sichuan Province,China.They include base-isolated buildings,multi-story reinforced concrete(RC)frame buildings,and masonry buildings.The near-field region is known to be tectonically highly active,and the local intensity level is the highest,that is,0.4g peak ground acceleration(PGA)for the design basis earthquake,in the Chinese zonation of seismic ground motion parameters.The extent of damage ranged from the weak-story collapse that claimed lives to the extensive nonstructural damage that suspended occupancy.The report highlights the first observation of the destruction of rubber bearings and viscous dampers in the isolation layer of Chinese seismically isolated buildings.It also features the rare observation of the brittle shear failure of RC columns in moment-resisting frames in a region of such a high seismic design requirement.Possible reasons that may have attributed to the reported damage are suggested by providing facts observed in the field.However,careful forensic analyses are needed before any conclusive judgment can be made.Zhe Qu Baijie Zhu Yuteng Cao Haoran Fu 2023Earthquake Research Advances2023,3,1:2
5Regulation of fruit ripening by the brassinosteroid biosynthetic gene SlCYP90B3 via an ethylenedependent pathway in tomato显示文摘The essential role of ethylene in fruit ripening has been thoroughly studied.However,the involvement of brassinosteroids(BRs)in the regulation of fruit ripening and their relationship with the ethylene pathway are poorly understood.In the current study,we found that BRs were actively synthesized during tomato fruit ripening.We then generated transgenic lines overexpressing or silencing SlCYP90B3,which encodes a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that catalyzes the rate-limiting step of BR synthesis.The expression level of SlCYP90B3 was positively related to the contents of bioactive BRs as well as the ripening process in tomato fruit,including enhanced softening and increased soluble sugar and flavor volatile contents.Both carotenoid accumulation and ethylene production were strongly correlated with the expression level of SlCYP90B3,corroborated by the altered expression of carotenoid biosynthetic genes as well as ethylene pathway genes in transgenic tomato fruits.However,the application of the ethylene perception inhibitor 1-methycyclopropene(1-MCP)abolished the promotion effect of SlCYP90B3 overexpression on carotenoid accumulation.Taken together,these results increase our understanding of the involvement of SlCYP90B3 in bioactive BR biosynthesis as well as fruit ripening in tomato,thus making SlCYP90B3 a target gene for improvement of visual,nutritional and flavor qualities of tomato fruits with no yield penalty.Songshen Hu Lihong Liu Shuo Li Zhiyong Shao Fanliang Meng Haoran Liu Wenyi Duan Dongyi Liang Changqing Zhu Tao Xu Qiaomei Wang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2
6Role of surface roughness in the magnesite flotation and its mechanism显示文摘Surface roughness has a significant influence on mineral flotation.The assisting effect of surface roughness on minerals flotation is extensively investigated from its physical properties(e.g.,the existing form of asperity and its size),however,the associated effect on mineral flotation based on the differences in surface chemical property caused by surface roughness has been rarely touched.With such a question in mind,in this study,we investigated the flotation recoveries of two batches of magnesite particles with varying degree of surface roughness produced by two different mills,and associated the flotation performances to their surface chemical properties(amount of adsorption sites for the collector)via a series of detections,including Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectrometry(SEM-EDS)observations,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)analysis,adsorption capacity tests,and contact angle measurements.Finally,we concluded that rougher magnesite particles could provide more active sites(Mg^(2+))for a larger capacity of sodium oleate(NaOL),thereby improving the hydrophobicity and floatability.Zhanglei Zhu Yafeng Fu Wanzhong Yin Haoran Sun Keqiang Chen Yuan Tang Bin Yang 2022Particuology2022,20,3:2
7Metasurface empowered lithium niobate optical phased array with an enlarged field of view显示文摘Integrated optical phased arrays(OPAs) have attracted significant interest to steer laser beams for applications including free-space communications, holography, and light detection and ranging. Although many methods have been proposed to suppress grating lobes, OPAs have also been limited by the trade-off between field of view(FOV)and beamforming efficiency. Here, we propose a metasurface empowered port-selected OPA(POPA), an OPA steered by port selection, which is implemented by an aperiodic waveguide array with an average pitch less than the wavelength and phase controlled by coupling among waveguides. A metasurface layer above the POPA was designed to increase wide FOV steering, aliasing-free by polarization division. As a result, we experimentally demonstrate beam scanning over a ±41.04° × 7.06° FOV. 8Decoupling engineering of formamidinium–cesium perovskites for efficient photovoltaics显示文摘Although pure formamidinium iodide perovskite(FAPbI3)possesses an optimal gap for photovoltaics,their poor phase stability limits the long-term operational stability of the devices.A promising approach to enhance their phase stability is to incorporate cesium into FAPbI3.However,state-of-the-art formamidinium–cesium(FA–Cs)iodide perovskites demonstrate much worse efficiency compared with FAPbI3,limited by the different crystallization dynamics of formamidinium and cesium,which result in poor composition homogeneity and high trap densities.We develop a novel strategy of crystallization decoupling processes of formamidinium and cesium via a sequential cesium incorporation approach.As such,we obtain highly reproducible,highly efficient and stable solar cells based on FA_(1–x)Cs_(x)PbI_(3)(x=0.05–0.16)films with uniform composition distribution in the nanoscale and low defect densities.We also revealed a new stabilization mechanism for Cs doping to stabilize FAPbI3,i.e.the incorporation of Cs into FAPbI3 significantly reduces the electron–phonon coupling strength to suppress ionic migration,thereby improving the stability of FA–Cs-based devices.Haoran Chen Yong Wang Yingping Fan Yuetian Chen Yanfeng Miao Zhixiao Qin Xingtao Wang Xiaomin Liu Kaicheng Zhu Feng Gao Yixin Zhao 2022National Science Review2022,9,10:1

11A Miniaturized Bandwidth Reconfigurable Bandpass Chip Filter with Semi-lumped Topology and GaAs pHEMT Technology显示文摘A miniaturized reconfigurable bandpass chip filter with semi-lumped topology and Gallium Arsenide pseudomorphic High electron mobility transistor(GaAs pHEMT)technology is proposed.Semi-lumped topology is employed to instead the traditional lumped inductor with microstrip transmission line,which can reduced the size of the tunable filter significantly.Three-order series and shunt resonated bandpass filter is implemented with shorted stubs and metal-insulator-metal capacitors.Two transmission zeros are introduced with the series resonator and the shunted GaAs FET.By tuning the gate bias circuit of the FET,the capacitance of the series resonator is changed and the bandwidth of the filter is adjusted correspondingly.An equivalent circuit model is developed to interpret the mechanism of the proposed filter circuit.A reconfigurable on chip filter sample operated at 10 GHz is fabricated to validate the design.Two fractional bandwidth of 14.3%and 23.5%are tuned with bias voltage of the FET,while insertion loss of 2.4 d B and 2.2 d B are observed with the filter,respectively.The area of the chip filter is 0.86×0.96 mm^(2)and is equivalent to an electrical length of 0.08×0.09λg^(2)at center frequency.Measurement results agree well with the simulation ones.LI Linqing ZHU Haoran NING Xingyu LI Zunwen WU Xianliang 2021Chinese Journal of Electronics2021,30,1:1
12Prediction of decline in shale gas well production using stable carbon isotope technique显示文摘Prediction of shale gas production is a challenging task because of the complex fracture-pore networks and gas flow mechanisms in shale reservoirs.Empirical methods,which are used in the industry to forecast the future production of shale gas,have not been assessed sufficiently to warrant high confidence in their results.Methane carbon isotopic signals have been used for producing gas wells,and are controlled by physical properties and physics-controlling production;they serve as a unique indicator of the gas production status.Here,a workable process,which is combined with a gas isotope interpretation tool(also known as a numerical simulator),has been implemented in Longrnaxi shale gas wells to predict the production decline curves.The numerical simulator,which takes into account a convection-diffu-sion-adsorption model for the matrix and a convection model for fractures in^(13)CH_(4) and ^(12)CH_(4) isotopologues,was used to stabilize the carbon isotope variation in the produced gas to elucidate gas recovery.Combined with the production rates of the four developing wells,the total reserves ranged from 1.72×10^(8) to 2.02×10^(8) m^(3),which were used to constrain the trend of two-segment produc-tion decline curves that exhibited a transition from a hyperbolic equation to an exponential one within 0.82-0.89 year.Two-segment production decline curves were used to forecast future production and estimate ultimate recovery.Shengxian ZHAO Shujuan KANG Majia ZHENG Shuangfang LU Yunfeng YANG Huanxu ZHANG Yongyang LIU Ziqiang XIA Chenglin ZHANG Haoran HU Di ZHU 2021Frontiers of Earth Science2021,15,4:1

14Programming of Regulatory T Cells In Situ for Nerve Regeneration and Long-Term Patency of Vascular Grafts显示文摘Rapid integration into the host tissue is critical for long-term patency after small diameter tissue engineering vascular grafts(sdTEVGs)transplantation.Neural recognition may be required for host integration and functionalization of the graft.However,immune rejection and inflammation hinder nerve regeneration of sdTEVGs.Here,a CRISPR/dCas9-nanocarrier was used for targeted programming of regulatory T cells(Treg cells)in situ to promote nerve regeneration of sdTEVGs by preventing excessive inflammation.Treg cells and(C-C chemokine receptor)CCR2+macrophage recruitment occurred after transplantation.The nanodelivery system upregulated ten eleven translocation(TET2)in Treg cells in vitro.Reprogrammed Treg cells upregulated anti-inflammatory cytokines and decreased the proportion of CCR2+macrophages.IL-6 concentrations decreased to the levels required for nerve regeneration.Implantation of CRISPR/dCas9 nanodelivery system-modified sdTEVGs in rats resulted in Treg cell editing,control of excessive inflammation,and promoted nerve regeneration.After 3 months,nerve regeneration was similar to that observed in normal blood vessels;good immune homeostasis,consistency of hemodynamics,and matrix regeneration were observed.Neural recognition promotes further integration of the graft into the host,with unobstructed blood vessels without intimal hyperplasia.Our findings provide new insights into vascular implant functionalization by the host.Yanhong Wang Fangchao Xue Yanzhao Li Lin Lin Yeqin Wang Shanlan Zhao Xingli Zhao Yong Liu Ju Tan Gang Li Haoran Xiao Juan Yan Hao Tian Min Liu Qiao Zhang Zhaojing Ba Lang He Wenyan Zhao Chuhong Zhu Wen Zeng 2022Research2022,,4:1

19A scalable fish-school inspired self-assembled particle system for solar-powered water-solute separation显示文摘Complete separation of water and solute is the ultimate goal of water treatment,for maximized resource recycling.However,commercialized approaches such as evaporative crystallizers consume a large amount of electricity with a significant carbon footprint,leading to calls for alternative energy-efficient and eco-friendly strategies.Here,inspired by schooling fish,we demonstrate a collective system self-assembled by expanded polystyrene(EPS)-core/graphene oxide(GO)-shell particles,which enables autonomous,efficient and complete water-solute separation powered by sunlight.By taking advantage of surface tension,these tailored particles school together naturally and are bonded as a system to function collectively and coordinatively,to nucleate,grow and output salt crystals continuously and automatically out of even saturated brine,to complete water-solute separation.Solar-vapor conversion efficiency over 90%and salt production rate as high as 0.39 kg m^(-2) h^(-1) are achieved under 1-sun illumination for this system.It reduces the carbon footprint of~50 kg for treating 1-ton saturated brine compared with the commercialized approaches.Ning Xu Haoran Zhang Zhenhui Lin Jinlei Li Guoliang Liu Xiuqiang Li Wei Zhao Xinzhe Min Pengcheng Yao Lin Zhou Yan Song Bin Zhu Shining Zhu Jia Zhu 2021National Science Review2021,8,10:1
