| 1 | Adsorption of Eu(Ⅲ) on titanate nanotubes studied by a combination of batch and EXAFS technique显示文摘The effects of pH,contact time and natural organic ligands on radionuclide Eu(Ⅲ) adsorption and mechanism on titanate nanotubes(TNTs) are studied by a combination of batch and extended X-ray absorption fine structure(EXAFS) techniques.Macroscopic measurements show that the adsorption is ionic strength dependent at pH < 6.0,but ionic strength independent at pH > 6.0.The presence of humic acid(HA) /fulvic acid(FA) increases Eu(Ⅲ) adsorption on TNTs at low pH,but reduces Eu(Ⅲ) adsorption at high pH.The results of EXAFS analysis indicate that Eu(Ⅲ) adsorption on TNTs is dominated by outer-sphere surface complexation at pH < 6.0,whereas by inner-sphere surface complexation at pH > 6.0.At pH < 6.0,Eu(Ⅲ) consists of ~ 9 O atoms at REu?O ≈ 2.40 in the first coordination sphere,and a decrease in NEu-O with increasing pH indicates the introduction of more asymmetry in the first sphere of adsorbed Eu(Ⅲ).At long contact time or high pH values,the Eu(Ⅲ) consists of ~2 Eu at REu-Eu ≈ 3.60 and ~ 1 Ti at REu-Ti ≈ 4.40 ,indicating the formation of inner-sphere surface complexation,surface precipitation or surface polymers.Surface adsorbed HA/FA on TNTs modifies the species of adsorbed Eu(Ⅲ) as well as the local atomic structures of adsorbed Eu(Ⅲ) on HA/FA-TNT hybrids.Adsorbed Eu(Ⅲ) on HA/FA-TNT hybrids forms both ligand-bridging ternary surface complexes(Eu-HA/FA-TNTs) as well as surface complexes in which Eu(Ⅲ) remains directly bound to TNT surface hydroxyl groups(i.e.,binary Eu-TNTs or Eu-bridging ternary surface complexes(HA/FA-Eu-TNTs)).The findings in this work are important to describe Eu(Ⅲ) interaction with nanomaterials at molecular level and will help to improve the understanding of Eu(Ⅲ) physicochemical behavior in the natural environment. | SHENG GuoDong YANG ShiTong ZHAO DongLin SHENG Jiang WANG XiangKe | 2012 | Science China Chemistry2012,55,1: | 8 |
| 2 | Effect of pyrolytic carbon interphase on mechanical properties of mini T800-C/SiC composites显示文摘The effect of pyrolytic carbon(PyC) thickness on the tensile property of mini T800 carbon fiber reinforced SiC matrix composites(C/SiC) was studied. PyC interphase was prepared by chemical vapor infiltration(CVI) process using C3H6–Ar as gas source, the PyC thickness was adjusted from 0 to 400 nm, and then the SiC matrix was prepared by CVI process using methyltrichlorosilane(MTS)–H2–Ar as precursor and gas source. The results showed that the tensile strength of mini T800-C/SiC increased first and then decreased with the increase of the PyC thickness. When the thickness of PyC was 100 nm, the average strength reached the maximum value of 393 ± 70 MPa. | 5 | Inductive heat property of Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles in AC magnetic field for local hyperthermia显示文摘Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles with different magnetic properties were prepared by coprecipitation of Fe3+ and Fe2+ with aqueous NaOH solution. The inductive heat properties of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in an alternating current (AC) magnetic field were investigated for local hyperthermia. The maximum saturation magnetization Ms of Fe3O4 nanoparticles is 65.53 emu·g-1 under the optimum conditions of Fe3+: Fe2+ molar ratio at 1.8:1. The Ms of Fe3O4 nanoparticles decreased as the Fe3+/Fe2+ molar ratio increased. But the coercivity Hc increases with the increasing of Fe3+/Fe2+ molar ratio. Exposed in the AC magnetic field for 29 min, the temperatures of physiological saline suspension containing Fe3O4 nanoparticles were 42-97.5 ℃. | 8 | Morphological differences in skeletal muscle atrophy of rats with motor nerve and/or sensory nerve injury显示文摘Skeletal muscle atrophy occurs after denervation. The present study dissected the rat left ventral root and dorsal root at L4-6 or the sciatic nerve to establish a model of simple motor nerve injury, sensory nerve injury or mixed nerve injury. Results showed that with prolonged denervation time, rats with simple motor nerve injury, sensory nerve injury or mixed nerve injury exhibited abnormal behavior, reduced wet weight of the left gastrocnemius muscle, decreased diameter and cross-sectional area and altered ultrastructure of muscle cells, as well as decreased cross-sectional area and increased gray scale of the gastrocnemius muscle motor end plate. Moreover, at the same time point, the pathological changes were most severe in mixed nerve injury, followed by simple motor nerve injury, and the changes in simple sensory nerve injury were the mildest. These findings indicate that normal skeletal muscle morphology is maintained by intact innervation. Motor nerve injury resulted in larger damage to skeletal muscle and more severe atrophy than sensory nerve injury. | 10 | Paclitaxel formulation with stable sustained-release behavior and its biological safety evaluation显示文摘Biological safety and stable sustained-release of the drug are two crucial issues involved in the formulation of paclitaxel.Focusing on these issues, by using the FDA approved polylactide as carrier material, soybean lecithin as surfactant and maltodextrin as thickener, paclitaxel loaded PLA microspheres were simply prepared by solvent evaporation, thus guaranteeing the biological safety. The introduction of maltodextrin as a thickener aided to a stable sustained-release of paclitaxel. Surface morphology, particle size, drug loading rate, encapsulation efficiency and in vitro drug release behavior were investigated.Biological safety evaluations such as acute toxicity, allergies, hemolysis, skin stimulation and genotoxicity test were also carried out.
