1Deep-learning-based inverse design model for intelligent discovery of organic molecules显示文摘The discovery of high-performance functional materials is crucial for overcoming technical issues in modern industries.Extensive efforts have been devoted toward accelerating and facilitating this process,not only experimentally but also from the viewpoint of materials design.Recently,machine learning has attracted considerable attention,as it can provide rational guidelines for efficient material exploration without time-consuming iterations or prior human knowledge.In this regard,here we develop an inverse design model based on a deep encoder-decoder architecture for targeted molecular design.Inspired by neural machine language translation,the deep neural network encoder extracts hidden features between molecular structures and their material properties,while the recurrent neural network decoder reconstructs the extracted features into new molecular structures having the target properties.In material design tasks,the proposed fully data-driven methodology successfully learned design rules from the given databases and generated promising light-absorbing molecules and host materials for a phosphorescent organic light-emitting diode by creating new ligands and combinatorial rules.Kyungdoc Kim Seokho Kang Jiho Yoo Youngchun Kwon Youngmin Nam Dongseon Lee Inkoo Kim Youn-Suk Choi Yongsik Jung Sangmo Kim Won-Joon Son Jhunmo Son Hyo Sug Lee Sunghan Kim Jaikwang Shin Sungwoo Hwang 2018npj Computational Materials2018,,1:4
2Interleukin-24 is correlated with differentiation and lymph node numbers in rectal cancer显示文摘AIM:To assess the significance of interleukin(IL)-24 and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)expression in lymph-node-positive rectal cancer. METHODS:Between 1998 and 2005,90 rectal adenocarcinoma patients with lymph node involvement were enrolled.All patients received radical surgery and postoperative pelvic chemoradiotherapy of 50.4-54.0 Gy.Chemotherapy of 5-fluorouracil and leucovorin or levamisole was given intravenously during the first and last week of radiotherapy,and then monthly for about 6 mo.Expression of IL-24 and VEGF was evaluated by immunohistochemical staining of surgical specimens, and their relations with patient characteristics and survival were analyzed.The median follow-up of surviving patients was 73 mo(range:52-122 mo). RESULTS:IL-24 expression was found in 81 out of 90 patients;31 showed weak intensity and 50 showedstrong intensity.VEGF expression was found in 64 out of 90 patients.Negative and weak intensities of IL-24 expression were classified as negative expression for analysis.IL-24 expression was significantly reduced in poorly differentiated tumors in comparison with well or moderately differentiated tumors(P=0.004),N2b to earlier N stages(P=0.016),and stageⅢc to stageⅢ a orⅢb(P=0.028).The number of involved lymph nodes was also significantly reduced in IL-24-positive patients in comparison with IL-24-negative ones. There was no correlation between VEGF expression and patient characteristics.Expression of IL-24 and VEGF was not correlated with survival,but N stage and stages were significantly correlated with survival. 15A novel chitosan nanocapsule for enhanced skin penetration of cyclosporin A and effective hair growth in vivo显示文摘Hair loss due to medical conditions,such as alopecia,male pattern baldness,and cancer chemotherapy treatment,has been a comm onproblem for many in dividuals.Cyclospori n A(CsA),a fungal metabolite,has been reported to be a hair growth modulatory agent and is apotential drug for hair regeneration.However,the effect of topical application of CsA is limited by its poor water solubility.Several deliverysystems developed to enhance its solubility still showed poor skin penetration.To overcome these limitations,in this study,we have developed a novel chitosan nanocapsule platform using Pluro nic F127 and chitosan without any chemical crosslinking or complicated preparati on steps for the enhanced water solubility and high tran sdermal penetration of CsA.The chitosan nanocapsules(ChiNCs)optimized in terms of structural stability by using chitosan with various molecular weights ranging from 3 to 100 kDa enhanced the skin permeation of CsA through humancadaver skin in vitro.Topical administration of the CsA loaded ChiNCs in creased the hair follicles by c.a.7 times higher than that of thecontrol group,and effectively induced hair growth in C57BL/6 mice in vivo.These results suggest that ChiNCs could be used as a platform foreffective transdermal delivery of various hydrophobic drugs.Jin Sil Lee Youngmin Hwang Hyeryeon Oh Sunghyun Kim Jin-Hwa Kim Jeung-Hoon Lee Yong Chui Shin Giyoong Tae Won II Choi 2019Nano Research2019,12,12:1
16Consistency of intensity ratio between spectral lines with similar self-absorption characteristics during ungated laser induced breakdown spectroscopy measurements显示文摘This work reports that the intensity ratio of spectral lines having similar self-absorption characteristics during laser induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) analysis can become nearly constant over a wide range of irradiation conditions if the intensities are integrated over a sufficiently long time. It is shown that the plasma temperature and intensity ratio of these spectral lines have temporal similarity. 17Voxelated opto-physically unclonable functions via irreplicable wrinkles显示文摘The increased prevalence of the Internet of Things(IoT)and the integration of digital technology into our daily lives have given rise to heightened security risks and the need for more robust security measures.In response to these challenges,physical unclonable functions(PUFs)have emerged as promising solution,offering a highly secure method to generate unpredictable and unique random digital values by leveraging inherent physical characteristics.However,traditional PUFs implementations often require complex hardware and circuitry,which can add to the cost and complexity of the system.We present a novel approach using a random wrinkles PUF(rw-PUF)based on an optically anisotropic,facile,simple,and cost-effective material.These wrinkles contain randomly oriented liquid crystal molecules,resulting in a two-dimensional retardation map corresponding to a complex birefringence pattern.Additionally,our proposed technique allows for customization based on specific requirements using a spatial light modulator,enabling fast fabrication.The random wrinkles PUF has the capability to store multiple data sets within a single PUF without the need for physical alterations.Furthermore,we introduce a concept called‘polyhedron authentication,’which utilizes three-dimensional information storage in a voxelated random wrinkles PUF.This approach demonstrates the feasibility of implementing high-level security technology by leveraging the unique properties of the rw-PUF.Kitae Kim Se-Um Kim Moon-Young Choi Mohsin Hassan Saeed Youngmin Kim Jun-Hee Na 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,11:0
