1Endocytoscopic narrow-band imaging efficiency for evaluation of inflammatory activity in ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM:To assess the efficacy of endocytoscopic narrowband imaging(EC-NBI)for evaluating the severity of inflammation in ulcerative colitis(UC).METHODS:This retrospective study was conducted at a single tertiary care referral center.We included UC patients who underwent colonoscopy with endocytoscopy from July 2010 to December 2013.ECNBI was performed,and the images were evaluated by assessing visibility,increased vascularization,and the increased calibers of capillaries and were classified as Obscure,Visible or Dilated.Obscure was indicative of inactive disease,while Visible and Dilated were indicative of acute inflammation.This study received Institutional Review Board approval.The primary outcome measures included the diagnostic ability of EC-NBI to distinguish between active and inactive UC on the basis of histological activity.The conventional endoscopic images were classified according to the Mayo endoscopic score.A score of 0 or 1 indicated inactive disease,whereas a score of 2 indicated active disease.RESULTS:Fifty-two patients were enrolled.There was a strong correlation between the EC-NBI findings and the histological assessment(r=0.871,P<0.01).The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative predictive value,and accuracy of EC-NBI for diagnosing acute inflammation were 84.0%,100%,87.1%,100%,and 92.3%,respectively,while those for the Mayo endoscopic score were 100%,40.7%,100%,61.0%,and 69.2%,respectively.Compared with conventional endoscopy,EC-NBI was superior in diagnostic specificity,negative predictive value,and accuracy(P<0.001,P=0.001 and P=0.047,respectively).CONCLUSION:The EC-NBI finding of capillaries in the rectal mucosa was strongly correlated with histological inflammation and aided in the differential diagnosis between active and inactive UC.Yasuharu Maeda Kazuo Ohtsuka Shin-ei Kudo Kunihiko Wakamura Yuichi Mori Noriyuki Ogata Yoshiki Wada Masashi Misawa Akihiro Yamauchi Seiko Hayashi Toyoki Kudo Takemasa Hayashi Hideyuki Miyachi Fuyuhiko Yamamura Fumio Ishida Haruhiro Inoue Shigeharu Hamatani 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,7:4

9Inferior mesenteric arteriovenous fistula during treatment with bevacizumab in colorectal cancer patient: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Fistula formation is a severe adverse event related to antiangiogenetic agents such as bevacizumab and inferior mesenteric arteriovenous fistula(IMAVF) is a result of acquired factor, especially colon surgery. However, IMAVF occurs very rarely and there are few reports in patients during chemotherapy. We report a case of a patient who developed IMAVF during treatment with bevacizumab in metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC) after colon surgery.CASE SUMMARY An 81-year-old man was diagnosed with descending colon cancer and underwent left hemicolectomy without any complications. He was definitely diagnosed with high-risk stage 2 and received tegafur-uracil plus leucovorin as adjuvant chemotherapy. Three years and 6 mo after the operation, the cancer relapsed with peritoneal dissemination. The patient underwent CyberKnife radiosurgery targeting the recurrent tumor and received chemotherapy with S-1 plus bevacizumab. At 1 year after chemotherapy, he complained of severe diarrhea, which is suspected drug-induced colitis. As diarrhea worsened despite the termination of treatment, he underwent colonoscopy and computed tomography (CT) scans that revealed edematous change from sigmoid to rectosigmoid colon. CT scans also revealed an aneurysm adjacent to the inferior mesenteric vein and multidetector CT angiography showed the IMAVF. Elective angiography confirmed the diagnosis of an IMAVF and it was successfully treated by arterial embolization. 12Rational design for thermochromic luminescence in amorphous polystyrene films with bis-o-carborane-substituted enhanced conjugated molecule having aggregation-induced luminochromism显示文摘We designed the triad molecule,bis-o-carborane-substituted bis(thienylethynyl)benzene,as a filler for realizing thermochromic luminescent behaviors based on conventional polymer films,such as polystyrene.From the optical measurements,it was found that the triad can show solid-state emission and dual-luminescent properties with variable intensity ratios depending on media.From the mechanistic studies including the experiments with the methyl-substituted model compound,it was revealed that dual emission should be originated from the locally excited and twisted intramolecular charge transfer states,and the latter emission band is significantly enhanced in the solid states.We prepared amorphous films containing variable concentrations of the triad with the spin-coating method and investigated optical properties.It was found that intensity ratios were drastically changed by altering the concentration of the triad.By increasing the proportion of the triad,aggregation occurred,and emission color was apparently varied through the changes in intensity ratios of the dual emission property.Based on the aggregationinduced luminochromic property of the triad,thermochromic luminescence was finally realized by heating the amorphous films.The rational design for obtaining thermochromic luminescent amorphous films is illustrated in this paper.Keisuke Wada Kazushi Hashimoto Junki Ochi Kazuo Tanaka Yoshiki Chujo 2021Aggregate2021,2,5:0
