1Clinical characteristics and survival of 5283 esophageal cancer patients: A multicenter study from eighteen hospitals across six regions in China显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to investigate the potential determining epidemiological and clinical risk factors affecting the survival of esophageal cancer(EC)patients across multiple hospitals in China.Methods:This was a multicenter study comprising of newly diagnosed EC cases from Beijing,Hebei,Henan,Hubei,Zhejiang,and Guangdong Province of China.Their baseline characteristics and treatment methods data were collected from their medical records.The EpiData software was used for data quality control.The Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate their overall survival(OS),and the Cox’s proportional hazard regression model was used to estimate hazard ratios(HR)and 95%confidence interval(CI).Results:The 3-and 5-year OS rates of the 5283 investigated EC patients were 49.98%and 39.07%,respectively.Their median survival was 36.00 months.The median survival time of females was longer than that of males(females vs.males:45.00 vs.33.00,P<0.001).The 5-year OS rate of patients who never-smoked was higher than that of smokers(never-smokers vs smokers:40.73%vs.37.84%,P=0.001).There was no significant difference in the 5-year OS rate between drinkers and never-drinkers(drinkers vs never-drinkers:34.22%vs.29.65%,P=0.330).In multivariate analysis,pathological stage(stage II:HR=1.80,95%CI=1.40-2.31;stage III:HR=2.62,95%CI=2.06-3.34;stage IV:HR=3.90,95%CI=2.98-5.09),poor differentiation/undifferentiated(HR=1.34,95%CI=1.11-1.63),not married status(HR=2.45,95%CI=1.49-4.04),production and service personnel(HR=1.36,95%CI=1.01-1.83)and farming/fishing(HR=1.40,95%CI=1.12-1.76)were independent prognostic risk factors for poor EC survival.Tumors in the thoracic or abdominal part of the esophagus,female and family history of any cancer were independent factors predictive of a good EC OS.Conclusion:Gender,marital status,occupation,family history of any cancer,tumor topographical site,differentiation status,and pathological stage were associated with the survival rate of EC.This study reveals important clinical characteristics of esophageal cancer patients in China and provides helpful information for their clinical management and surveillance.Yutong He Di Liang Lingbin Du Tiantian Guo Yanyu Liu Xibin Sun Ning Wang Min Zhang Kuangrong Wei Baoen Shan Wanqing Chen 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,10:8
2On the Influences of Urbanization on the Extreme Rainfall over Zhengzhou on 20 July 2021: A Convection-Permitting Ensemble Modeling Study显示文摘This study investigates the influences of urban land cover on the extreme rainfall event over the Zhengzhou city in central China on 20 July 2021 using the Weather Research and Forecasting model at a convection-permitting scale[1-km resolution in the innermost domain(d3)].Two ensembles of simulation(CTRL,NURB),each consisting of 11 members with a multi-layer urban canopy model and various combinations of physics schemes,were conducted using different land cover scenarios:(i)the real urban land cover,(ii)all cities in d3 being replaced with natural land cover.The results suggest that CTRL reasonably reproduces the spatiotemporal evolution of rainstorms and the 24-h rainfall accumulation over the key region,although the maximum hourly rainfall is underestimated and displaced to the west or southwest by most members.The ensemble mean 24-h rainfall accumulation over the key region of heavy rainfall is reduced by 13%,and the maximum hourly rainfall simulated by each member is reduced by 15–70 mm in CTRL relative to NURB.The reduction in the simulated rainfall by urbanization is closely associated with numerous cities/towns to the south,southeast,and east of Zhengzhou.Their heating effects jointly lead to formation of anomalous upward motions in and above the planetary boundary layer(PBL),which exaggerates the PBL drying effect due to reduced evapotranspiration and also enhances the wind stilling effect due to increased surface friction in urban areas.As a result,the lateral inflows of moisture and high-θe(equivalent potential temperature)air from south and east to Zhengzhou are reduced.Yali LUO Jiahua ZHANG Miao YU Xudong LIANG Rudi XIA Yanyu GAO Xiaoyu GAO Jinfang YIN 2023Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,3:4
3Stepwise Fabrication of Co-Embedded Porous Multichannel Carbon Nanofibers for High-Efficiency Oxygen Reduction显示文摘A novel nonprecious metal material consisting of Coembedded porous interconnected multichannel carbon nanofibers(Co/IMCCNFs) was rationally designed for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalysis.In the synthesis,ZnCo2O4 was employed to form interconnected mesoporous channels and provide highly active Co3O4/Co core–shell nanoparticle-based sites for the ORR.The IMC structure with a large synergistic effect of the N and Co active sites provided fast ORR electrocatalysis kinetics.The Co/IMCCNFs exhibited a high half-wave potential of 0.82 V(vs.reversible hydrogen electrode) and excellent stability with a current retention up to 88% after 12,000 cycles in a current–time test,which is only 55% for 30 wt% Pt/C.Zeming Tang Yingxuan Zhao Qingxue Lai Jia Zhong Yanyu Liang 2019Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,2:3
4Effects of parental empathy and emotion regulation on social competence and emotional/behavioral problems of school‐age children显示文摘Importance Parents take the lead in parent–child interactions and their emotion regulation ability and empathy during parenting may be associated with children’s emotional/behavioral problems.However,the specific mechanisms underlying these associations remain unclear.Objective The present study aimed to explore the effect of parental empathy and emotional regulation on social competence and emotional/behavioral problems in school‐age children.Methods A questionnaire‐based survey was conducted with 274 parents of 8–11‐year‐old children using Achenbach’s Child Behavior Checklist,the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire,and the Questionnaire of Cognitive and Affective Empathy.Results Children with emotional/behavioral problems(n=37)had relatively lower social competence than children in a matched control group(n=37).Compared with the parents of children in the control group,parents of children with emotional/behavioral problems had significantly lower cognitive empathy scores,mainly manifested by low perspective‐taking and online simulation abilities.Mediation analysis showed that parental cognitive empathy had an indirect effect on children’s emotional/behavioral problems through children’s social competence.Interpretation Parental empathy may have a subtle influence on the social competence of school‐aged children,which further affects the severity of children’s emotional/behavioral problems.Kun Meng Yizhe Yuan Yali Wang Jianning Liang Lijun Wang Jianfei Shen Yanyu Wang 2020Pediatric Investigation2020,4,2:2
5Cryo-EM structure of the inner ring from the Xenopus laevis nuclear pore complex显示文摘Nuclear pore complex(NPC)mediates nucleocytoplasmic shuttling.Here we present single-particle cryo-electron microscopy structure of the inner ring(IR)subunit from the Xenopus laevis NPC at an average resolution of 4.2Å.A homo-dimer of Nup205 resides at the center of the IR subunit,flanked by two molecules of Nup188.Four molecules of Nup93 each places an extended helix into the axial groove of Nup205 or Nup188,together constituting the central scaffold.The channel nucleoporin hetero-trimer of Nup62/58/54 is anchored on the central scaffold.Six Nup155 molecules interact with the central scaffold and together with the NDC1–ALADIN hetero-dimers anchor the IR subunit to the nuclear envelope and to outer rings.The scarce inter-subunit contacts may allow sufficient latitude in conformation and diameter of the IR.Our structure reveals the molecular basis for the IR subunit assembly of a vertebrate NPC.Gaoxingyu Huang Xiechao Zhan Chao Zeng Ke Liang Xuechen Zhu Yanyu Zhao Pan Wang Qifan Wang Qiang Zhou Qinghua Tao Minhao Liu Jianlin Lei Chuangye Yan Yigong Shi 2022Cell Research2022,32,5:1

14Influence of the concentration ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus on the growth and interspecies competition of two red tide algae显示文摘The growth and interspecies competition of two red tide algal species Thalassiosira pseudonana Hasle et Heimdal and Gymnodinium sp.were studied under different concentration ratios of nitrogen to phosphorus,and the algal batch culture experiments were conducted.The physiological and biochemical indexes were measured periodically,including the maximum comparing growth rate,relative growth rate,average double time and chlorophyll a concentration.The results showed that when the concentration ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus was 16:1,the maximum comparing growth rate,relative growth rate and chlorophyll a concentration of Thalassiosira pseudonana all reached the highest,and average double time was the shortest.This implied that the optimal concentration ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus of Thalassiosira pseudonana is 16:1.When the concentration ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus was 6:1,the maximum comparing growth rate,relative growth rate and the chlorophyll a concentration of Gymnodinium sp.reached the highest,and average double time was the shortest,so the optimal concentration ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus of Gymnodinium sp.is 6:1.From the growth curves as indicated both in the cell density and the chlorophyll a concentration,it is suggested that the influence of concentration ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus on the chlorophyll a concentration and the cell density are almost the same.Different concentration ratios of nitrogen to phosphorus had weak influence on community succession and the competition between the two algae.Gymnodinium sp.may use the phosphorus in vivo for growth,so it is important to pay attention to the concealment of phosphorus,in order to avoid the outbreak of red tide.On the basis of the importance of nitrogen and phosphorus and the ratio of their concentration,the possible outbreak mechanism of red tide of the two algae was also discussed.KANG Yanyu LIANG Junrong GAO Yahui LIN Rongcheng GAO Hua XING Xiaoli MA Jie LUO Qiaoqi 2007Acta Oceanologica Sinica2007,26,5:1

18Cryo-EM structure of the nuclear ring from Xenopus laevis nuclear pore complex显示文摘Nuclear pore complex(NPC)shuttles cargo across the nuclear envelope.Here we present single-particle cryo-EM structure of the nuclear ring(NR)sub unit from Xenopus laevis NPC at an average resoluti on of 5.6 A.The NR sub unit comprises two 10-membered Y complexes,each with the nucleoporin ELYS closely associating with Nup160 and Nup37 of the long arm.Unlike the cytoplasmic ring(CR)or inner ring(IR),the NR sub unit contains only one molecule each of Nup205 and Nup93.Nup205 binds both arms of the Y complexes and in teracts with the stem of inner Y complex from the n eighboring subunit.Nup93 conn ects the stems of inner and outer Y complexes within the same NR sub unit,and places its N-terminal extended helix i nto the axial groove of Nup205 from the n eighboring subunit.Together with other structural in formation,we have gen erated a composite atomic model of the cen tral ring scaffold that includes the NR,IR,and CR.The IR is connected to the two outer rings mainly through Nup155.This model facilitates functional understanding of vertebrate NPC.Gaoxingyu Huang Xiechao Zhan Chao Zeng Xuechen Zhu Ke Liang Yanyu Zhao Pan Wang 2022Cell Research2022,32,4:1
19Achieving stable K-storage performance of carbon sphere-confined Sb via electrolyte regulation显示文摘Potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)have been considered as one of the most promising alternatives to lithiumion batteries(LIBs)in view of their competitive energy density with significantly reduced product cost.Moreover,alloy-type materials are expected as a high-performance anode of PIBs thanks to their intrinsic chemical stability as well as high theoretical specific capacity.Unfortunately,the serious incompatibility between alloy-type active materials and electrolytes,especially for the formation of unstable solidelectrolyte interfacial(SEI)films,often leads to insufficient cycle life.Herein,the formation mechanism of SEI films in the K-storage systems based on carbon sphere confined Sb anode(Sb@CS)were investigated in commercially available electrolytes.Physical characterizations and theoretical calculation revealed that the solvents in the dilute electrolyte of 0.8 M KPF_(6)/EC+DEC were excessively decomposed on the interface to generate unstable SEI and thus result in inferior K-storage stability.On the contrary,a salt-concentrated electrolyte(3 M KFSI/DME)can generate inorganic-dominated stable SEI due to the preferential decomposition of anions.As a result,the prepared Sb@CS in the matched 3 M KFSI/DME electrolyte delivered a high reversible capacity of 467.8 m A h g^(-1)after 100 cycles at 100 m A g^(-1),with a slow capacity decay of 0.19%per cycle from the 10th to the 100th cycle.These findings are of great significance for revealing the interfacial reaction between electrodes and electrolytes as well as improving the stability of Sb-based anode materials for PIBs.Ningning Chen Nailu Shen Xiaoping Yi Yinshuang Pang Jing Zheng Qingxue Lai Yanyu Liang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,1:1
