1Potential targets for protecting against hippocampal cell apoptosis after transient cerebral ischemiareperfusion injury in aged rats显示文摘Mitochondria play an important role in neuronal apoptosis caused by cerebral ischemia, and the role is mediated by the expression of mitochondrial proteins. This study investigated the involvement of mitochondrial proteins in hippocampal cell apoptosis after transient cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in aged rats using a comparative proteomics strategy. Our experimental results show that the aged rat brain is sensitive to ischemia-reperfusion injury and that transient ischemia led to cell apoptosis in the hippocampus and changes in memory and cognition of aged rats. Differential proteomics analysis suggested that this phenomenon may be mediated by mitochondrial proteins associated with energy metabolism and apoptosis in aged rats. 3Biomimetic albumin-modified gold nanorods for photothermo-chemotherapy and macrophage polarization modulation显示文摘Nanotechnology-based photothermal therapy has attracted great attention in the past decade. Nevertheless, photothermal therapy has some inherent drawbacks, such as the uneven heat production and limited laser penetration, often leading to insufficient treatment outcomes. Here, we developed a combination strategy to improve cancer therapy. The biomimetic albumin-modified gold nanorods(AuNRs) were prepared with incorporation of paclitaxel(PTX). This therapeutic system was characterized by several features. First, the albumin modification enhanced the biocompatibility and colloidal stability. Second, the surface-coated albumin promoted cellular uptake via the albumin-binding protein pathway. Third, PTX was incorporated via hydrophobic interaction between PTX and the albumin lipophilic domain. Fourth, the system can be used for combined photothermo-chemotherapy for yielding synergistic effects. The antitumor activity of the system was evaluated both in vitro and in vivo using the HCT116 colon cancer cell and tumor model. The combination therapy was found with an enhanced treatment efficiency and no obvious side effect. Most importantly, the thermal effect was also discovered with the ability to modulate the tumor microenvironments and suppress the macrophages polarization towards the M2 pro-tumor phenotype. It could be a mechanism for photothermal immunotherapy. 4Facile synthesis of bimodal macroporous g-C_3N_4/SnO_2 nanohybrids with enhanced photocatalytic activity显示文摘It is of vital importance to construct highly interconnected,macroporous photocatalyst to improve its efficiency and applicability in solar energy conversion and environment remediation.Graphitic-like C_3N_4(g-C_3N_4),as an analogy to two-dimensional(2D)graphene,is highly identified as a visible-lightresponsive polymeric semiconductor.Moreover,the feasibility of g-C_3N_4 in making porous structures has been well established.However,the preparation of macroporous g-C_3N_4 with abundant porous networks and exposure surface,still constitutes a difficulty.To solve it,we report a first facile preparation of bimodal macroporous g-C_3N_4 hybrids with abundant in-plane holes,which is simply enabled by in-situ modification through thermally treating the mixture of thiourea and SnCl_4(pore modifier)after rotary evaporation.For one hand,the formed in-plane macropores endow the g-C_3N_4 system with plentiful active sites and short,cross-plane diffusion channels that can greatly speed up mass transport and transfer.For another,the heterojunctions founded between g-C_3N_4 and SnO_2 consolidate the electron transfer reaction to greatly reduce the recombination probability.As a consequence,the resulted macroporous gC_3N_4/SnO_2 nanohybrid had a high specific surface area(SSA)of 44.3 m^2/g that was quite comparable to most nano/mesoporous g-C_3N_4 reported.The interconnected porous network also rendered a highly intensified light absorption by strengthening the light penetration.Together with the improved mass transport and electron transfer,the macroporous g-C_3N_4/SnO_2 hybrid exhibited about 2.4-fold increment in the photoactivity compared with pure g-C_3N_4.Additionally,the recyclability of such hybrid could be guaranteed after eight successive uses.Yingzhi Chen Wenhao Li Dongjian Jiang Kuo Men Zhen Li Ling Li Shizheng Sun Jingyuan Li Zheng-Hong Huang Lu-Ning Wang 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,1:7
5Wide-steering-angle high-resolution optical phased array显示文摘Optical phased array(OPA)technology is considered a promising solution for solid-state beam steering to supersede the traditional mechanical beam steering.As a key component of the LIDAR system for long-range detection,OPAs featuring a wide steering angle and high resolution without beam aliasing are highly desired.However,a wide steering range requires a waveguide pitch less than half of the wavelength,which is easily subjected to cross talk.Besides,high resolution requires a large aperture,and it is normally achieved by a high count number of waveguides,which complicates the control system.To solve the mentioned issues,we design two high-performance 128-channel OPAs fabricated on a multilayered SiN-on-SOI platform.Attributed to the nonuniform antenna pitch,only 128 waveguides are used to achieve a 4 mm wide aperture.Besides,by virtue of innovative dual-level silicon nitride(Si_(3)N_(4))waveguide grating antennas,the fishbone antenna OPA achieves a 100°×19.4°field of view(FOV)with divergence of 0.021°×0.029°,and the chain antenna OPA realizes a 140°×19.23°FOV with divergence of 0.021°×0.1°.To our best knowledge,140°is the widest lateral steering range in two-dimensional OPA,and 0.029°is the smallest longitudinal divergence.Finally,we embed the OPA into a frequency-modulated continuous-wave system to achieve 100 m distance measurement.The reflected signal from 100 m distance is well detected with 26 dBm input transmitter power,which proves that OPA serves as a promising candidate for transceiving optical signal in a LIDAR system.YINGZHI LI BAISONG CHEN QUANXIN NA QIJIE XIE MIN TAO LANXUAN ZHANG ZIHAO ZHI YUXUAN LI XIAOBIN LIU XIANSHU LUO GUOQIANG LO FENGLI GAO XUEYAN LI JUNFENG SONG 2021Photonics Research2021,9,12:7
6Novel circular RNA expression profile of uveal melanoma revealed by microarray显示文摘Objective: The present study aimed to investigate circular RNA(circRNA) expression in uveal melanoma(UM).Methods: First,we used microarray to compare the expression profiles of circRNA in five UM samples and five normal uvea tissues.Next,bioinformatics analyses,including gene ontology(GO) analysis and pathway analysis,were applied to study these differentially expressed circRNAs to predict pathogenic pathways that may be involved.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR) in 20 UM samples and 20 normal uvea samples was used to confirm the circRNA expression profiles obtained from the microarray data.Finally,we analyzed the interaction between validated circRNAs and their potential cancer-associated miRNA targets.Results: In total,50,579 circRNAs [fold change(FC) ≥2.0; P<0.05],including 20,654 up-regulated and 29,925 down-regulated circRNAs,were identified as differentially expressed between UM tissues and normal uvea tissues.We used qRT-PCR to verify seven dysregulated circRNAs indicated by the microarray data,including hsa_circ_0119873,hsa_circ_0128533,hsa_circ_0047924,hsa_circ_0103232,hsa-circRNA10628-6,hsa_circ_0032148 and hsa_circ_0133460,which may be promising candidates to study future molecular mechanisms.Conclusions: This study explored,for the first time,the abnormal expression of circRNAs in UM and described the expression profile of circRNAs,providing a new potential target for the mechanism of UM and future treatment of UM.Xuan Yang Yang Li Yueming Liu Xiaolin Xu Yingzhi Wang Yanni Yan Wenjia Zhou Jingyan Yang Wenbin Wei 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,6:6

9Single-cell RNA-seq reveals the immune escape and drug resistance mechanisms of mantle cell lymphoma显示文摘Objective:Mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)is a rare subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL)with high heterogeneity and a high recurrence rate.How heterogenous cell populations contribute to relapse remains to be elucidated.Methods:We performed single cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)on approximately 4,000 bone marrow cells sampled from one patient with multidrug resistant MCL.We identified 10 subpopulations comprising 4 malignant B cell subtypes,3 T cell subtypes,2 dendritic cell subtypes and 1 natural killer(NK)cell subtype.Subsequently,we identified cell markers,including a series of genes associated with immune escape and drug resistance.In addition,we explored the roles of these genes in the mechanism of immune escape and drug resistance,and we verified the expression imbalance and clinical prognostic potential by using GEO datasets including 211 MCL samples.Results:The major immune escape mechanisms of MCL included anti-perforin activity,decreased immunogenicity and direct inhibition of apoptosis and cell killing,as mediated by type I and II B cells.The drug resistance mechanisms of different cell clusters included drug metabolism,DNA damage repair,apoptosis and survival promotion.Type III B cells closely communicate with other cells.The key genes involved in the resistance mechanisms showed dysregulated expression and may have significant clinical prognostic value.Conclusion:This study investigated potential immune escape and drug resistance mechanisms in MCL.The results may guide individualized treatment and promote the development of therapeutic drugs.Liang Wang Steven Mo Xin Li Yingzhi He Jing Yang 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:5
10Facile fabrication of three-dimensional interconnected nanoporous N-TiO_2 for efficient photoelectrochemical water splitting显示文摘Three-dimensional(3 D) interconnected porous architectures are expected to perform well in photoelectrochemical(PEC) water splitting due to their high specific surface area as well as favourable porous properties and interconnections. In this work, we demonstrated the facile fabrication of 3 D interconnected nanoporous N-doped TiO_2(N-TiO_2 network) by annealing the anodized 3 D interconnected nanoporous TiO_2(TiO_2 network) in ammonia atmosphere. The obtained N-TiO_2 network exhibited broadened light absorption, and abundant, interconnected pores for improving charge separation, which was supported by the reduced charge transfer resistance. 11Stress Effect of Cadmium Absorption between Aloe and Solanum nigrum L显示文摘The stress effect of cadmium absorption between aloe and Solanum nigrum L was studied through a simulation experiment with different cadmium contents in soil.The results showed that the growth characteristics,biomass and Cd content in the plants of aloe and S.nigrum L were closely related to Cd content in the soil,and S.nigrum L and aloe had a strong tolerance to Cd in the experiment.pH of rhizosphere soil with S.nigrum L and aloe planted was generally higher than that of non-rhizosphere soil,which is related to the planting pattern.Compared with aloe,S.nigrum L had a stronger capacity to accumulate Cd,and intercropping S.nigrum L and aloe could inhibit aloe's absorption of Cd,which is favorable to the safe planting of aloe.In addition,S.nigrum L has the potential to restore polluted soil.Chen Yingzhi Fu Shanming Wang Jianhuang Pei Jie Li Wenhao He Caizhen 2015Meteorological and Environmental Research2015,6,3:4
12IAP's Solar-Powered Unmanned Surface Vehicle Actively Passes through the Center of typhoon Sinlaku(2020)显示文摘The solar-powered marine unmanned surface vehicle(USV) developed by the USV team of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics is a rugged, long-duration, and autonomous navigation vessel designed for the collection of longrange, continuous, real-time, meteorological and oceanographic measurements, especially under extreme sea conditions(sea state 6–7). These solar-powered USVs completed a long-term continuous navigation observation test over 26 days.During this time, they coordinated double-USV observations and actively navigated into the path of Typhoon Sinlaku(2020) before collecting data very close to its center during the 2020 USV South China Sea Typhoon Observation Experiment. Detailed high temporal resolution(1 min) real-time observations collected by the USV on the typhoon were used for operational typhoon forecasting and warning for the first time. 14Assessing high resolution oxidation-reduction potential and soluble reactive phosphorus variation across vertical sediments and water layers in Xinghu Lake:A novel laboratory approach显示文摘To understand the transfer process of soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP) on the lake sediment-water interface in a mesotrophic shallow lake in South China, the SRP concentrations and the oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) across the sediment-water interfaces were continually monitored. Sediment samples were collected from Xinghu Lake in Guangdong Province. The ORP dynamics at different layers of overlying water was similar for six experimental systems, whereas those in porewater were significantly different. The ORP in overlying water was 200-300 mV higher than those in sediments. The oxygen penetration depth ranged from 2 to 10 mm in Xiannu Lake sediments. The variation amplitudes of ORP increased with sediment depth, but the mean ORP values were all about 218 mV. The SRP concentrations in porewater maintained at a low level of about 0.049 mg/L because of high atom ratio of total iron and total manganese to total phosphorus. The SRP concentrations and variation amplitudes in porewater increased with sediment depth. The SRP in overlying water mainly originated from SRP transference of the porewater of middle and bottom sediments (3-15 cm). The ORP variation and SRP transfer in porewater played important roles in changing SRP concentrations. 16Use of ciliate communities for monitoring ecological restoration of grain for the green in north-western China显示文摘A 1-year baseline survey was conducted in north-western China to evaluate the ecological restoration quality of grain for green(GFG)using soil ciliate communities.The aims of this study were focused on analyzing the changes of soil ciliate communities in four plots(A,GFG for 15 years;B,GFG for 13 years;C,layland;D,cultivated land)for GFG environmental assessment.Simultaneously we studied the effects of vegetation communities and physical-chemical variables with GFG changes on soil ciliates.A total of 114 species of ciliates were identified among the four sample sites,representing 9 classes,14 orders,22 families and 37 genera.The community patterns of the soil ciliates were significantly correlated with the individual abundance of aboveground plants,soil water content,and soil porosity.The contents of total nitrogen were the main factor affecting the soil ciliate community composition.The species number,individual abundance,and diversity index of the ciliates were each in the order A>B>C>D;that is,the community composition of ciliates was complicated with the implementation of the GFG.It was shown that the succession of ciliate community shifts toward promoting the complexity with the progress of GFG.These findings demonstrate that soil ciliate communities may be used as a useful indicator to evaluate the effects of the ecological restoration quality of GFG.Hao Liu Yingzhi Ning Yongqiang Yang Huaiyin Yang Li Wang Lingyun Chen Yangcuo Wanma Xiaoya Shen 2022Soil Ecology Letters2022,4,3:1
17Inorganic Nanotube/Organic Nanoparticle Hybrids for Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Properties显示文摘Inorganic/organic nanohybrids composed of arrayed TiO_2 nanotubes(Ti NTs)/porphyrin nanoparticles(NPs) have been fabricated via a wet chemical approach. The inorganic component, particularly the arrayed one-dimensional(1D) nanostructures, provides high charge-carrier mobility and rapid charge transport. The organic component exhibits extensive visible light absorption and good solution processability. Additionally, the geometric restraint by supramolecular assembly renders an improved photostability. A combination of these two components could thus allow for an efficient solar energy conversion. In this work, a colloid of porphyrin NPs prepared by a solvent exchange method is coated on anodic Ti NTs by means of a dip-coating treatment to form inorganic/organic hybrids. The hybrids exhibit an improvement on solar absorption and a significant enhancement on photocurrent generation at a small bias compared with individual component. 20On-chip generation of Bessel–Gaussian beam via concentrically distributed grating arrays for long-range sensing显示文摘Bessel beam featured with self-healing is essential to the optical sensing applications in the obstacle scattering environment.Integrated on-chip generation of the Bessel beam outperforms the conventional structure by small size,robustness,and alignment-free scheme.However,the maximum propagation distance(Z_(max))provided by the existing approaches cannot support long-range sensing,and thus,it restricts its potential applications.In this work,we propose an integrated silicon photonic chip with unique structures featured with concentrically distributed grating arrays to generate the Bessel-Gaussian beam with a long propagation distance.The spot with the Bessel function profile is measured at 10.24m without optical lenses,and the photonic chip’s operation wavelength can be continuously performed from 1500 to 1630 nm.To demonstrate the functionality of the generated Bessel-Gaussian beam,we also experimentally measure the rotation speeds of a spinning object via the rotational Doppler Effect and the distance through the phase laser ranging principle.The maximum error of the rotation speed in this experiment is measured to be 0.05%,indicating the minimum error in the current reports.By the compact size,low cost,and mass production potential of the integrated process,our approach is promising to readily enable the Bessel-Gaussian beam in widespread optical communication and micro-manipulation applications.Zihao Zhi Quanxin Na Qijie Xie Baisong Chen Yingzhi Li Xiaobin Liu Xuetong Li Lijun Wang Guoqiang Lo Junfeng Song 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,5:1
