1Effects of protein sources and levels in antibiotic-free diets on diarrhea,intestinal morphology, and expression of tight junctions in weaned piglets显示文摘This study examined effects of dietary protein sources and levels on intestinal health of 21 to 35 d-old weaned piglets fed antibiotics-free diets. A total of 150 weaned piglets(21 d of age) were allotted to 5 dietary treatment groups. Diets were formulated, based on corn-soybean meal, with different protein sources(fish meal and soy protein concentrate) to provide different dietary CP levels. Piglets within 5 dietary treatments were fed diets as follows, respectively: 1) control diet of 17% CP(control); 2) 19% CP diets formulated with more soy protein concentrate(SPC19); 3) fish meal(FM19); 4) 23.7% CP diets formulated with more soy protein concentrate(SPC23); 5) fish meal(FM23). The results showed that piglets from control group had higher ADG and lower incidence of diarrhea compared with those of other groups(P < 0.05). The incidence of diarrhea of piglets in FM19 group was lower than those from SPC23 group and FM23 group(P < 0.05). With the higher CP levels, villous height and villous height to crypt depth ratio of piglets in the duodenum and jejunum were decreased(P < 0.05), but crypt depth was increased(P < 0.05). Comparing control group and other groups, we found the expression of inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1β(IL-1β) and interferon-γ(IFN-γ) were increased(P < 0.05) in the jejunum and colon of piglets, as did cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulators(CFTR) in the distal colon. The relative transcript abundance of Zonula occludens-1(ZO-1) in the jejunum, and occludin in the jejunum and ileum of piglets fed 23.7% CP diets were reduced compared with those fed control diet(P < 0.05). In conclusion, the 17% CP diet without in-feed antibiotics helped improve growth performance and relief of diarrhea of 21 to 35 d-old weaned piglets. 2Fecal scores and microbial metabolites in weaned piglets fed different protein sources and levels显示文摘This experiment studied the effects of dietary protein sources and levels on the gut health of piglets,p H value,and concentrations of microbial metabolites(ammonia-N,volatile fatty acids [VFA],and polyamines) in the distal colonic and proximal colonic digesta of piglets weaned at 21 d of age.A total of 150 early-weaned piglets were allotted randomly to 5 diets: 1) control diet(CT; 17% CP),2) CT formulated with more soy protein concentrate(SPC19; 19% CP),3) more fish meal(FM19; 19% CP),4) CT formulated with more soy protein concentrate(SPC23; 23% CP),and 5) more fish meal(FM23; 23%CP).Results showed high protein level increased fecal score(P < 0.05),but different protein sources did not(P > 0.05).The p H value and ammonia-N concentration of digesta in the proximal and distal colon of FM23 were significantly higher(P < 0.05) than those of CT.Acetic acid,propionic acid,butyric acid and valeric acid concentrations in the proximal colon of FM23 exceeded those of CT,SPC19,and FM19(P < 0.05);however,isobutyric acid and isovaleric acid were not affected(P > 0.05).Histamine and spermidine concentrations of FM23 were higher than those of other treatments(P < 0.05).Propionic acid and butyric acid concentrations in the distal colon were higher of FM23 than of FM19(P < 0.05); putrescine,histamine and spermidine were higher of FM23 than of LP and FM19(P < 0.05).It was concluded that high dietary CP content increased microbial metabolites(ammonia-N,histamine,putrescine) in colonic digesta and aggravated piglets' diarrhea.Xiaolu Wen Li Wang Chuntian Zheng Xuefen Yang Xianyong Ma Yunpeng Wu Zhuang Chen Zongyong Jiang 2018Animal Nutrition2018,,1:14
3Effects of different forms of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae on growth performance,intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets显示文摘The present study was conducted to determine effects of different forms of yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae,strain Y200007) on the growth performance,intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets.A total of 96 piglets(14-d old,initial average body weight of 4.5 kg) were assigned to 4 dietary treatments:(1) basal diet without yeast(Control);(2) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg live yeast(LY);(3) basal diet supplemented with 2.66 g/kg heat-killed whole yeast(HKY);and(4) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg superfine yeast powders(SFY).Diets and water were provided ad libitum to the piglets during 3-week experiment.Growth performance of piglets was measured weekly.Samples of blood and small intestine were collected at days 7 and 21 of experiment.Dietary supplementation with LY and SFY improved G:F of piglets at days 1-21 of the experiment(P<0.05) compared to Control group.Serum concentrations of growth hormone(GH),triiodothyronine(T_3),tetraiodothyronine(T_4),and insulin growth factor 1(IGF-1) in piglets at day 21 of the experiment were higher when fed diets supplemented with LY and SFY than those in Control group(P < 0.05).Compared to Control group,contents of serum urea nitrogen of piglets were reduced by the 3 yeast-supplemented diets(P< 0.05).Diets supplemented with LY increased villus height and villus-to-crypt ratio in duodenum and jejunum of piglets(P < 0.05) compared to other two groups at day 7 of the experiment.Feeding diets supplemented with LY and SFY increased(P< 0.05) serum concentrations of IgA,IL-2,and IL-6 levels in piglets compared to Control.The CD4^+/CD8^+ ratio and proliferation of T-lymphocytes in piglets fed diets supplemented with LY were increased compared to that of Control group at day 7 of the experiment(P < 0.05).In conclusion,dietary supplementation with both LY and SFY enhanced feed conversion,small intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets,with better improvement in feed conversion by dietary supplementation with LY,while dietary supplementation with SFY was more effective in increasing systemic immune functions in early-weaned piglets.Zongyong Jiang Shaoyong Wei Zhilin Wang Cui Zhu Shenglan Hu Chuntian Zheng Zhuang Chen Youjun Hu Li Wang Xianyong Ma Xuefen Yang 2016Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1:13
4Dietary resveratrol attenuation of intestinal inflammation and oxidative damage is linked to the alteration of gut microbiota and butyrate in piglets challenged with deoxynivalenol显示文摘Background:Deoxynivalenol(DON)is a widespread mycotoxin that induces intestinal inflammation and oxidative stress in humans and animals.Resveratrol(RES)effectively exerts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.However,the protective effects of RES on alleviating DON toxicity in piglets and the underlying mechanism remain unclear.Therefore,this study aimed to investigate the effect of RES on growth performance,gut health and the gut microbiota in DON-challenged piglets.A total of 64 weaned piglets[Duroc×(Landrace×Yorkshire),21-d-old,6.97±0.10 kg body weight(BW)]were randomly allocated to 4 treatment groups(8 replicate pens per treatment,each pen containing 2 males;n=16 per treatment)for 28 d.The piglets were fed a control diet(CON)or the CON diet supplemented with 300 mg RES/kg diet(RES group),3.8 mg DON/kg diet(DON)or both(DON+RES)in a 2×2 factorial design.Results:DON-challenged piglets fed the RES-supplemented diet had significantly decreased D-lactate concentrations and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)and interleukin 1 beta(IL-1β)mRNA and protein expression,and increased zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)mRNA and protein expression compared with those of DON-challenged piglets fed the unsupplemented diet(P<0.05).Compared with unsupplemented DON-challenged piglets,infected piglets fed a diet with RES showed significantly decreased malondialdehyde(MDA)levelsand increased mRNA expression of antioxidant enzymes and antioxidant genes(i.e.,GCLC,GCLM,HO-1,SOD1 and NQO-1)and glutamatecysteine-ligase modulatory subunit(GCLM)protein expression(P<0.05).Moreover,RES supplementation significantly abrogated the increase in the proportion of TUNEL-positive cells and the protein expression of caspase3 in DON-challenged piglets(P<0.05).Finally,RES supplementation significantly increased the abundance of Roseburia and butyrate concentrations,while decreasing the abundances of Bacteroides and unidentified-Enterobacteriaceae in DON-challenged piglets compared with DON-challenged piglets alone(P<0.05).Conclusions:RES supplementation improved gut health in DON-challenged piglets by strengthening intestinal barrier function,alleviating intestinal inflammation and oxidative damage,and positively modulating the gut microbiota.The protective effects of RES on gut health may be linked to increased Roseburia and butyrate concentrations,and decreased levels of Bacteroides and unidentified-Enterobacteriaceae.Yueqin Qiu Jun Yang Li Wang Xuefen Yang Kaiguo Gao Cui Zhu Zongyong Jiang 2021Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,4:12
5Investigation on the Chinese Text Sentiment Analysis Based on Convolutional Neural Networks in Deep Learning显示文摘Nowadays,the amount of wed data is increasing at a rapid speed,which presents a serious challenge to the web monitoring.Text sentiment analysis,an important research topic in the area of natural language processing,is a crucial task in the web monitoring area.The accuracy of traditional text sentiment analysis methods might be degraded in dealing with mass data.Deep learning is a hot research topic of the artificial intelligence in the recent years.By now,several research groups have studied the sentiment analysis of English texts using deep learning methods.In contrary,relatively few works have so far considered the Chinese text sentiment analysis toward this direction.In this paper,a method for analyzing the Chinese text sentiment is proposed based on the convolutional neural network(CNN)in deep learning in order to improve the analysis accuracy.The feature values of the CNN after the training process are nonuniformly distributed.In order to overcome this problem,a method for normalizing the feature values is proposed.Moreover,the dimensions of the text features are optimized through simulations.Finally,a method for updating the learning rate in the training process of the CNN is presented in order to achieve better performances.Experiment results on the typical datasets indicate that the accuracy of the proposed method can be improved compared with that of the traditional supervised machine learning methods,e.g.,the support vector machine method.Feng Xu Xuefen Zhang Zhanhong Xin Alan Yang 2019Computers, Materials & Continua2019,,3:7

7Comprehensive Marine Observing Experiment Based on High-Altitude Large Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(South China Sea Experiment2020 of the “Petrel Project”)显示文摘In collaboration with 12 other institutions, the Meteorological Observation Center of the China Meteorological Administration undertook a comprehensive marine observation experiment in the South China Sea using the Yilong-10 high-altitude large unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV). The Yilong-10 UAV carried a self-developed dropsonde system and a millimeter-wave cloud radar system. In addition, a solar-powered unmanned surface vessel and two drifting buoys were used. The experiment was further supported by an intelligent, reciprocating horizontal drifting radiosonde system that was deployed from the Sansha Meteorological Observing Station, with the intent of producing a stereoscopic observation over the South China Sea. Comprehensive three-dimensional observations were collected using the system from 31 July to2 August, 2020. This information was used to investigate the formation and development processes of Typhoon Sinlaku(2020). The data contain measurements of 21 oceanic and meteorological parameters acquired by the five devices, along with video footage from the UAV. The data proved very helpful in determining the actual location and intensity of Typhoon Sinlaku(2020). The experiment demonstrates the feasibility of using a high-altitude, large UAV to fill in the gaps between operational meteorological observations of marine areas and typhoons near China, and marks a milestone for the use of such data for analyzing the structure and impact of a typhoon in the South China Sea. 8Effects of dietary valine supplementation during late gestation on the reproductive performance and mammary gland development of gilts显示文摘Background:Mammary gland development during late gestation in gilts is a major factor that alters the composition of colostrum and growth performance of piglets.Plasma valine is taken up and metabolized extensively by the mammary gland;however,the effects of valine on mammary gland development during late gestation are still unclear.Thirty primiparous gilts were divided into three treatment groups(n=10)and received one of the three diets starting on day 75 of gestation until the day of farrowing.The total dietary valine to lysine ratio of the three diets was 0.63(LV),0.73(MV),and 0.93(HV),respectively.Results:Dietary valine supplementation during late gestation did not affect(P>0.05)the litter size and weight at farrowing;however,the piglet weight and average daily gain at weaning were linearly increased(P<0.05)as the dietary valine increased.The highest piglet weight at weaning was observed when the gilts were provided the HV diet.Dietary valine supplementation linearly elevated(P<0.05)protein,fat and solids-not-fat and some free amino acids content in colostrum.The concentration of prolactin in plasma of gilts was linearly increased in response to valine supplementation at days 1 and 10 of lactation(P<0.05).Furthermore,with increasing dietary valine allowance,a linear increase(P<0.05)was observed in the area of the lumen of alveolus and the content of DNA,RNA,and total protein in the mammary tissues at day 1 of lactation.Moreover,the protein expression of cyclin D1,p-mTOR,p-S6,and p-4EBP1 was also linearly increased(P<0.05)in the mammary tissue at day 1 of lactation.However,no difference(P>0.05)was observed in the indices related to mammary development and the mTOR signaling pathway at day 21 of lactation.Conclusion:The results revealed that increasing the total dietary valine to lysine ratio to 0.93 during late gestation significantly enhances the piglet weight and average daily gain at weaning probably due to improved development of mammary gland.Long Che Mengmeng Xu Kaiguo Gao Li Wang Xuefen Yang Xiaolu Wen Hao Xiao Zongyong Jiang 2020Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2020,11,2:4
9Naringenin is a Potential Immunomodulator for Inhibiting Liver Fibrosis by Inhibiting the cGAS-STING Pathway显示文摘Background and Aims:Naringenin is an anti-inflammatory flavonoid that has been studied in chronic liver disease.The mechanism specific to its antifibrosis activity needs further investigation This study was to focused on the cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate synthase(cGAS)pathway in hepatic stellate cells and clarified the antifibrosis mechanism of naringenin.Methods:The relationship between the cGAS-stimulator of interferon genes(STING)pathway and liver fibrosis was analyzed using the Gene Expression Omnibus database.Histopathology,immunohistochemistry,fluorescence staining,Western blotting and polymerase chain reaction were performed to assess gene and protein expression levels associated with the cGAS pathway in clinical liver tissue samples and mouse livers.Molecular docking was performed to evaluate the relationship between naringenin and cGAS,and western blotting was performed to study the expression of inflammatory factors downstream of cGAS in vitro.Results:Clinical database analyses showed that the cGAS-STING pathway is involved in the occurrence of chronic liver disease.Naringenin ameliorated liver injury and liver fibrosis,decreased collagen deposition and cGAS expression,and inhibited inflammation in carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)-treated mice.Molecular docking found that cGAS may be a direct target of naringenin.Consistent with the in vivo results,we verified the inhibitory effect of naringenin on activated hepatic stellate cells(HSCs).By using the cGAS-specific agonist double-stranded(ds)DNA,we showed that naringenin attenuated the activation of cGAS and its inflammatory factors affected by dsDNA.We verified that naringenin inhibited the cGAS-STING pathway,thereby reducing the secretion of inflammatory factors by HSCs to ameliorate liver fibrosis.Conclusions:Interrupting the cGAS-STING pathway helped reverse the fibrosis process.Naringenin has potential as an antihepatic fibrosis drug.Li Chen Siwei Xia Shuqi Wang Yuanyuan Zhou Feixia Wang Zhanghao Li Yang Li Desong Kong Zili Zhang Jiangjuan Shao Xuefen Xu Feng Zhang Shizhong Zheng 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,1:3
10Salinity effects on soil organic carbon and its labile fractions,and nematode communities in irrigated farmlands in an arid region,northwestern China显示文摘The effects of salinity on soil organic carbon(SOC) and its labile fractions including microbial biomass carbon(MBC) and easily oxidation organic carbon(EOC),basal soil respiration,and soil nematode community in the Fluvents,an oasis in an arid region of northwestern China were investigated.Five sites were selected which had a salinity gradient with different groundwater table from 1.0 m to 4.0 m.Soils were sampled at the 0–20 cm plough layer from 25 irrigated fields of five sites and electrical conductivity was measured in the saturation paste extracts(ECe).Soils were categorized into five salinity levels:(1) non-saline,(2) very slightly saline,(3) slightly saline,(4) moderately saline,and(5) strongly saline according to the values of ECe.The results show that SOC and total nitrogen concentration,cation exchange capacity(CEC),and the concentrations of labile organic fractions(MBC,EOC),and basal soil respiration decreased significantly with increasing ECe.The relationships between ECe and MBC,EOC and basal soil respiration were best described by power functions.Slight and moderate salinity had no significant impact on soil nematode abundance,but excessive salt accumulation led to a marked decline in soil nematode community diversity and abundance.Soil salinity changed soil nematode trophic groups and bacterivores were the most abundant trophic groups in salt-affected soils.Further study is necessary to identify the response of soil microbial processes and nematode community dynamics to soil salinity.YongZhong Su TingNa Liu XueFen Wang Rong Yang 2016Research in Cold and Arid Regions2016,8,1:3
11Inhibition of ASCT2 induces hepatic stellate cell senescence with modified proinflammatory secretome through an IL-1α/NF-κB feedback pathway to inhibit liver fibrosis显示文摘Senescence of activated hepatic stellate cells(aHSCs) is a stable growth arrest that is implicated in liver fibrosis regression.Senescent cells often accompanied by a multi-faceted senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP).But little is known about how alanine-serine-cysteine transporter type-2(ASCT2),a high affinity glutamine transporter,affects HSC senescence and SASP during liver fibrosis.Here,we identified ASCT2 is mainly elevated in aHSCs and positively correlated with liver fibrosis in human and mouse fibrotic livers.We first discovered ASCT2 inhibition induced HSCs to senescence in vitro and in vivo.The proinflammatory SASP were restricted by ASCT2 inhibition at senescence initiation to prevent paracrine migration.Mechanically,ASCT2 was a direct target of glutaminolysisdependent proinflammatory SASP,interfering IL-1α/NF-κB feedback loop via interacting with precursor IL-1α at Lys82.From a translational perspective,atractylenolide Ⅲ is identified as ASCT2 inhibitor through directly bound to Asn230 of ASCT2.The presence of -OH group in atractylenolide Ⅲ is suggested to be favorable for the inhibition of ASCT2.Importantly,atractylenolide Ⅲ could be utilized to treat liver fibrosis mice.Taken together,ASCT2 controlled HSC senescence while modifying the proinflammatory SASP.Targeting ASCT2 by atractylenolide Ⅲ could be a therapeutic candidate for liver fibrosis.Feixia Wang Zhanghao Li Li Chen Ting Yang Baoyu Liang Zili Zhang Jiangjuan Shao Xuefen Xu Guoping Yin Shijun Wang Hai Ding Feng Zhang Shizhong Zheng 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,9:2
12Determination of water content in corn stover silage using near-infrared spectroscopy显示文摘The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of utilizing near-infrared spectroscopy to determine the water content of corn stover silage across a wide range.The water contents of 208 samples were measured,and their corresponding near-infrared spectra were simultaneously collected.The effects of different preprocessing methods,such as derivation,standard normal variety(SNV),multiplicative scatter correction(MSC),and non-preprocessing methods for the obtained near-infrared spectra on the performance of calibration models were compared.The calibration models were established by modified partial least squares(MPLS)regression.The results showed that the calibration model developed from the successive preprocessing of MSC and first-order derivation(1-D)achieved the optimal performance.The correlation coefficients of the calibration and validation subset were 0.974 and 0.949,respectively,and the standard errors of the calibration and cross validation were 4.249% and 4.256%,respectively.External validation was performed on 60 samples.The correlation coefficient between the measured and predicted values of the calibration model was 0.973 and the prediction model’s relative percent deviation was 4.317.This indicated that the mathematical model of near-infrared spectroscopy predicted the water content in corn stover silage with high accuracy.The study showed that the near-infrared spectroscopy technology can be used for rapid and non-destructive testing across a wide range of water contents in the corn stover silage.Maoqun Zhang Chao Zhao Qianjun Shao Zidong Yang Xuefen Zhang Xiaofeng Xu Muhammad Hassan 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6:2
