1A Chromosome-Level Genome Assembly of Garlic (Allium sativum) Provides Insights into Genome Evolution and Allicin Biosynthesis显示文摘Garlic,an economically important vegetable,spice,and medicinal crop,produces highly enlarged bulbs and unique organosulfur compounds.Here,we report a chromosome-level genome assembly for garlic,with a total size of approximately 16.24 Gb,as well as the annotation of 57561 predicted protein-coding genes,making garlic the first Allium species with a sequenced genome.Analysis of this garlic genome assembly reveals a recent burst of transposable elements,explaining the substantial expansion of the garlic genome.We examined the evolution of certain genes associated with the biosynthesis of allicin and inulin neoseries-type fructans,and provided new insights into the biosynthesis of these two compounds.Furthermore,a large-scale transcriptome was produced to characterize the expression patterns of garlic genes in different tissues and at various growth stages of enlarged bulbs.The reference genome and large-scale transcriptome data generated in this study provide valuable new resources for research on garlic biology and breeding.Xiudong Sun Siyuan Zhu Ningyang Li Yi Cheng Jing Zhao Xuguang Qiao Li Lu Shiqi Liu Yanzhou Wang Chan Liu Benping Li Wu Guo Shuang Gao Zemao Yang Fu Li Zheng Zeng Qing Tang Yupeng Pan Mengjiao Guan Jian Zhao Xiaomi ng Lu Huanwe n Meng Zhenlin Han Chun she ng Gao Wenkai Jiang Xing Zhao Shilin Tian Jianguang Su Zhihui Cheng Touming Liu 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:14
2Synthesis and Luminescence of SrZnO_2∶Eu^(3+), Li^+ Phosphor by Long Wavelength UV Excitation显示文摘SrZnO2∶Eu 3+, Li+ phosphor powder by long wavelength UV excitation was synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction method. XRD and PL were employed to characterize their properties. The results show that Eu 3+ ions preferentially occupy Sr 2+ asymmetry cationic sites, thus emitting 612 nm red light originated from 5D0 to 7F2 transition. The luminescent intensity can be greatly enhanced with incorporation of Li+ ions. The excitation efficiency in range of 350~400 nm also increases greatly due to incorporating Li+ ions. 3Estrogenic effect of the extract of Renshen(Radix Ginseng) on reproductive tissues in immature mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the estrogenic efficacy of Renshen(Radix Ginseng)(GS) on reproductive target tissues in immature mice.METHODS: One hundred and ten female immature Kunming(KM) mice, 21-day-old, were randomly assigned to eleven groups, 10 for each; one served as control group treated with 0.154 mg/kg estradiol valerate(EV,n = 10), the rest were treated respectively with GS intragastrically at a daily dose of 0.5,1.0, 1.5, 3.0, 6.0, 12.0, 18.0, 24.0 and 30.0 g/kg(n =10 in per group) for 7 days. The estrous cycle, uterine weight, hormone levels in circulation and histomorphology changes of uterus and vagina were scrupulously examined. The estrogen receptor(ER)α and ERβ expressions in the uterus and vagina were detected by immunohistochemistry and western blotting.RESULTS: Treatment with GS at the dose of 12.0,18.0 and 24.0 g/kg resulted significant estrogenic activity in the mice, as indicated by advanced and prolonged estrous stage and increased uterine weight(all P < 0.05). GS treatment substantially promoted development of reproductive tissue by thickening the uterine endometrium and increasing vaginal epithelial layers. In addition, treatment with GS induced significant up-regulation of ERαand ERβ expressions in reproductive tissues, and ERα up-regulation was stronger than that of ERβ.GS could raise levels of circulating estrogen, simultaneously decrease levels of luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone(all P < 0.001)compared with the control group.CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that GS had estrogenic effect on reproductive tissues in immature mice by stimulating biosynthesis of estrogen in circulation and up-regulating ERs.Ding Jie Xu Ying Ma Xiaoping An Jinna Yang Xiudong Liu Zhiqiang Lin Na 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,4:3

5Dietary calcium requirements of broilers fed a conventional corn-soybean meal diet from 1 to 21 days of age显示文摘Background:The current calcium(Ca)recommendation for broilers is primarily based on studies conducted more than 30 years ago with birds of markedly different productive potentials from those which exist today.And the response indicators in these studies are mainly growth performance and bone ash percentage.Therefore,the present study was carried out to investigate the effect of dietary Ca level on growth performance,serum parameters,bone characteristics and Ca metabolism-related gene expressions,so as to estimate dietary Ca requirements of broilers fed a conventional corn-soybean meal diet from 1 to 21 days of age.Methods:A total of 4201-day-old Arbor Acres male broilers were randomly assigned to 1 of 7 treatments with 6 replicates(10 birds per cage)and fed the corn-soybean meal diets containing 0.60%,0.70%,0.80%,0.90%,1.00%,1.10%or 1.20%Ca for 21 days.Each diet contained the constant non-phytate phosphorus content of about 0.39%.Results:The average daily gain decreased linearly(P<0.001)as dietary Ca level increased.The serum and tibia alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activities,tibia bone mineral density(BMD),middle toe BMD,tibia ash percentage,tibia breaking strength,and tibia ALP protein expression level were affected(P<0.05)by dietary Ca level,and showed significant quadratic responses(P<0.02)to dietary Ca levels.The estimates of dietary Ca requirements were 0.80 to 1.00%based on the best fitted broken-line or quadratic models(P<0.03)of the above serum and bone parameters,respectively.Conclusions:The results from the present study indicate that the Ca requirements would be about 0.60%to obtain the best growth rate,and 1.00%to meet all of the Ca metabolisms and bone development of broilers fed a conventional corn-soybean meal diet from 1 to 21 days of age.Shiping Bai Yunfeng Yang Xuelian Ma Xiudong Liao Runlian Wang Liyang Zhang Sufen Li Xugang Luo Lin Lu 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,4:2

9Nitrogen and atomic Fe dual-doped porous carbon nanocubes as superior electrocatalysts for acidic H2-O_(2) PEMFC and alkaline Zn-air battery显示文摘Air cathodes with high electrocatalytic activity are vital for developing H2/O_(2) proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFC)and Zn-air batteries.However,the state-of-the-art air cathodes suffer from either limited catalytic activity or high cost,which thus hinder their applications.Herein,we designed ZIF-8 derived nitrogen and atomic iron dual-doped porous carbon nanocubes as high-quality catalysts for ORR,through a novel gas-doping approach.The porous carbon nanocubic architecture and abundant Fe-Nxactive species endow ZIF-8 derived single atomic iron catalyst(PCN-A@Fe SA)with superior catalytic activity,and surpass Pt/C and a majority of the reported catalysts.Both XAS and DFT calculations suggest that Fe2+N4 moieties are the main active centers that are favorable for oxygen affinity and OH*intermediate desorption,which can result in promising catalytic performance.Most importantly,PCNA@Fe SA can achieve power density of 514 m W cm^(-2) as cathodic catalyst in a PEMFC and discharge peak power density of 185 m W cm^(-2) in an alkaline Zn-air battery.The outstanding performance is derived from both the high specific surface area and high-density of iron single atom in nitrogen doped nanocubic carbon matrix.Xiudong Shi Zonghua Pu Bin Chi Mingrui Liu Siyan Yu Long Zheng Lijun Yang Ting Shu Shijun Liao 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,8:1
