| 1 | Metabolic dysregulation and emerging therapeutical targets for hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is an aggressive human cancer with increasing incidence worldwide.Multiple efforts have been made to explore pharmaceutical therapies to treat HCC,such as targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitors,immune based therapies and combination of chemotherapy.However,limitations exist in current strategies including chemoresistance for instance.Tumor initiation and progression is driven by reprogramming of metabolism,in particular during HCC development.Recently,metabolic associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),a reappraisal of new nomenclature for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),indicates growing appreciation of metabolism in the pathogenesis of liver disease,including HCC,thereby suggesting new strategies by targeting abnormal metabolism for HCC treatment.In this review,we introduce directions by highlighting the metabolic targets in glucose,fatty acid,amino acid and glutamine metabolism,which are suitable for HCC pharmaceutical intervention.We also summarize and discuss current pharmaceutical agents and studies targeting deregulated metabolism during HCC treatment.Furthermore,opportunities and challenges in the discovery and development of HCC therapy targeting metabolism are discussed. | Danyu Du Chan Liu Mengyao Qin Xiao Zhang Tao Xi Shengtao Yuan Haiping Hao Jing Xiong | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2: | 27 |
| 2 | Acupuncture treatment of lung-spleen Qi deficiency in stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a randomized, open-label, controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture that reinforces the spleen to strengthen the lung in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS:This was a randomized,open-controlled trial in which the acupuncturist and the participants were not blinded,but the outcome evalu-ators and data analysts were blinded.One-hundred-and-two patients with stable COPD were randomly divided into two groups in a 1∶1 ratio.The acupuncture group received 30-minute sessions of acupuncture therapy at the same acupoints three times weekly for 6 weeks in addition to routine conventional Western Medicine treatment;the control group received routine conventional Western Medicine treatment alone.The primary outcome was the Borg scale score,which was assessed immediately after the 6-minute walk test.The secondary outcomes were the 6-minute walk distance,lung function,and oxygen saturation.Measurements were obtained at baseline and after 6 weeks of treatment.RESULTS:After 6 weeks of treatment,the Borg scale score in the acupuncture group was significantly better than that in the control group(2.02±0.71 versus 5.01±0.34,P<0.05).Furthermore,the post-treatment improvements in the 6-minute walk distance,lung function,and oxygen saturation were significantly greater in the acupuncture group than in the control group,showing that the acupuncture group had better exercise tolerance.CONCLUSION:The findings suggest that acupuncture that aims to reinforce the spleen to strengthen the lung is a safe and effective adjuvant therapy that effectively improves the exercise capacity of patients with stable COPD. | Li Yu Xiong Chan Zeng Yan Wei Hua Zhuang Guangtong Zhao Lihong Li Chenyi Li Lin Qin Erqi Chen Xiaoqin Fu Juanjuan | 2019 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,6: | 13 |
| 3 | Effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Medicine on chemo-radiotherapy induced leukaemia in patients with lung cancer:a Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the curative effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) on leukopenia induced by chemo-radiotherapy in patients with lung cancer.METHODS: A comprehensive electronic search in Medline, Embase, the Cochrane Libary database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database(CNKI) and Wanfang Database was conducted up to July 2017. Random-effects model was used to estimate the standardized mean differences(SMDs)with 95% confidence intervals(CIs). Eleven studies with a total of 957 patients were included in this meta-analysis.RESULTS: The effectiveness in TCM group was higher than control group [RR = 1.60, 95% CI(1.38, 1.85),P < 0.000 01]. Compare with Western Medicinegroup, the effectiveness has no significant difference [RR = 0.96, 95% CI(0.82, 1.12), P = 0.57]. | 4 | Cell cycle-related kinase reprograms the liver immune microenvironment to promote cancer metastasis显示文摘The liver is an immunologically tolerant organ and a common metastatic site of multiple cancer types.Although a role for cancer cell invasion programs has been well characterized,whether and how liver-intrinsic factors drive metastatic spread is incompletely understood.Here,we show that aberrantly activated hepatocyte-intrinsic cell cycle-related kinase(CCRK)signaling in chronic liver diseases is critical for cancer metastasis by reprogramming an immunosuppressive microenvironment.Using an inducible liverspecific transgenic model,we found that CCRK overexpression dramatically increased both B16F10 melanoma and MC38 colorectal cancer(CRC)metastasis to the liver,which was highly infiltrated by polymorphonuclear-myeloid-derived suppressor cells(PMNMDSCs)and lacking natural killer T(NKT)cells.Depletion of PMN-MDSCs in CCRK transgenic mice restored NKT cell levels and their interferon gamma production and reduced liver metastasis to 2.7% and 0.7%(metastatic tumor weights)in the melanoma and CRC models,respectively.Mechanistically,CCRK activated nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling to increase the PMN-MDSC trafficking chemokine C-X-C motif ligand 1(CXCL1),which was positively correlated with liver-infiltrating PMN-MDSC levels in CCRK transgenic mice.Accordingly,CRC liver metastasis patients exhibited hyperaaivation of hepatic CCRK/NF-κB/CXCL1 signaling,which was associated with accumulation of PMN-MDSCs and paucity of NKT cells compared to healthy liver transplantation donors.In summary,this study demonstrates that immunosuppressive reprogramming by hepatic CCRK signaling undermines antimetastatic immunosurveillance.Our findings offer new mechanistic insights and therapeutic targets for liver metastasis intervention. | Xuezhen Zeng Jingying Zhou Zhewen Xiong Hanyong Sun Weiqin Yang Myth T.S.Mok Jing Wang Jingqing Li Man Liu Wenshu Tang Yu Feng Hector Kwong-Sang W ang Shun-Wa Tsang King-Lau Chow Philip Chun Yeung John Wong Paul Bo-San Lai Anthony Wing-Hung Chan Ka Fai To Stephen Lam Chan Qiang Xia Jing Xue Xiao Chen Jun Yu Sui Peng Joseph Jao-Yiu Sung Ming Kuang Alfred Sze-Lok Cheng | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,4: | 5 |
| 5 | Gas sensing capabilities of TiO_(2) porous nanoceramics prepared through premature sintering显示文摘Pure and noble metal(Pt,Pd,and Au)doped TiO_(2)nanoceramics have been prepared from TiO_(2)nanoparticles through traditional pressing and sintering.For those samples sintered at 550℃,a typical premature sintering occurred,which led to the formation of a highly porous microstructure with a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)specific surface area of 23 m^(2)/g.At room temperature,only Pt-doped samples showed obvious response to hydrogen,with sensitivities as high as~500 for 1000 ppm H_(2)in N_(2);at 300℃,all samples showed obvious responses to CO,while the responses of noble metal doped samples were much higher than that of the undoped ones.The mechanism for the observed sensing capabilities has been discussed,in which the catalytic effect of Pt for hydrogen is believed responsible for the room-temperature hydrogen sensing capabilities,and the absence of glass frit as commonly used in commercial thick-film metal oxide gas sensors is related to the high sensitivities.It is proposed that much attention should be paid to metal oxide porous nanoceramics in developing gas sensors with high sensitivities and low working temperatures. | Yao XIONG Zilong TANG Yu WANG Yongming HU Haoshuang GU Yuanzhi LI Helen Lai Wah CHAN Wanping CHEN | 2015 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2015,4,2: | 3 |

| 19 | Critical review of studies on building information modeling (BIM) in project management显示文摘Building information modeling(BIM) and project management are two major research topics that accommodate large volumes of research efforts. BIM has been interpreted as a process technology that aids in enhancing project management. Hence, the investigation from an interdisciplinary perspective of the two concepts may bring new insights to understanding related research.In this paper, a structural approach is adopted in reviewing BIM studies in project management from 2005 to 2017 within identified target journals. This review aims to classify the major research directions and topics for BIM research in project management. Moreover, given BIM's potential for application in project management, this paper attempts to establish a fundamental research foundation for a new paradigm of project management that incorporates BIM, namely, BIM-based project management. The preliminary result suggests that BIM research in project management develops drastically in the examined duration. The research directions of BIM studies in project management include enabling BIM as a technology in project management; BIM application as a solution for specific project management scopes; integration issues of BIM that have been brought to project management;institutional environment and regulatory governance of BIM in realizing project management strategies; and analysis of effects and strategies of BIM adoption and implementation in projects. The directions and trends are then analyzed to develop a research route for BIM studies in project management. Finally, conclusions focus on the relations of the research directions, as well as the contributions and theoretical implications of this review.Future research areas are also recommended. | Albert P.
