| 2 | Nano-selenium controlled cadmium accumulation and improved photosynthesis in indica rice cultivated in lead and cadmium combined paddy soils显示文摘Selenium nanoparticles(Se NPs) are less toxic and more biocompatible than selenite or selenate. However, studies involving spraying with Se NPs for reducing accumulation of cadmium(Cd) and lead(Pb) in rice grains have been rarely reported as yet. Herein, indica rice seedlings cultivated in Cd + Pb-spiked paddy soils(denoted as positive control) were sprayed with Se NPs sols for four times from tillering to booting stage. Compared to positive control, 50–100 μmol/L Se NPs downregulated Cd transporters-related genes such as Os LCT 1, OsH MA 2 and Os CCX2 in leaves and OsLCT1, Os PCR1 and Os CCX2 genes in node I at filling stage. Meanwhile, Se-binding protein 1 was distinctly elevated, involving the repression of Cd and Pb transportation to rice grains. Se NPs also differentially improved RuBP carboxylase and chlorophylls especially some key genes and proteins involving photosynthetic system. Besides, 25–50 μmol/L Se NPs diminished reactive oxygen species overproduction from NADPH oxidases whereas boosted glutathione peroxidase, reducing protein carbonylation in rice seedlings. However, the antioxidant isozymes and oxidatively modified proteins were slightly rebounded at 100 μmol/L. Se contents were noticeably elevated and confirmed to exist as selenomethionine in the rice grains following all the treatments by Se NPs. Thus, the optimal dosage of Se NPs for foliar application is 50 μmol/L, which significantly decreased Cd accumulation, improved photosynthesis and Se enrichment whereas caused no distinct reduction of Pb in the grains. | 3 | Superior anti-corrosion and self-healing bi-functional polymer composite coatings with polydopamine modified mesoporous silica/graphene oxide显示文摘In this article,graphene oxide(GO)and benzotriazole-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles(BTA/MSNs)are combined on micro scale through the in situ polymerization of polydopamine(PDA),preparing a selfhealing bi-functional GO(fGO)used as nano-fillers for anti-corrosion enhancement of waterborne epoxy(WEP)coatings.Scanning electronic microscopy(SEM)images show that the BTA/MSNs are uniformly distributed on the surface of high aspect ratio GO nanosheets to endow GO nanocontainer characteristics.UV-vis profiles demonstrate that fGO has p H-controlled release function.Modulus at lowest frequency is generally used for comparing the corrosion resistance of organic coatings.Modulus at lowest frequency(1.42×10^(5)Ωcm^(2))after 30 days immersion in 3.5 wt.%Na Cl solution revealed 2 orders of magnitude higher that of blank WEP(1.17×10^(7)Ωcm^(2)).With artificial cracks on its coatings,fGO/WEP had no obvious rust compared with blank WEP after 240 h of immersion.We anticipate that self-healing and physical barrier bi-functional nanocontainers improve the traditional anticorrosion coating efficiency with better,longer-lasting performance for shipping,oil drilling or bridge maintenance. | Yanqi Ma Haowei Huang Hongda Zhou Michael Graham James Smith Xinxin Sheng Ying Chen Li Zhang Xinya Zhang Elena Shchukina Dmitry Shchukin | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,36: | 4 |
| 4 | Relationships between daily total fluoride intake and dental fluorosis and dental caries显示文摘Objective:To explore the relationships between the daily total intake of fluoride,dental fluorosis and dental caries. Methods: An epidemiological method was used to investigate the daily total intake of fluoride,dental fluorosis,and dental caries among 236 and 290 children aged 8-13 years in a severe endemic area and in a non-fluorosis control area,respectively. The children were divided into eight subgroups according to each child’s estimated daily total intake of fluoride. The prevalence of dental fluorosis and dental caries in each group was calculated. Results: As expected,elevated levels of fluoride intake were significantly associated with a higher prevalence of dental fluorosis and an increasing amount of more severe defect dental fluorosis. When the daily total F intake was 2.78 mg/child/day,the prevalence of dental fluorosis was nearly 100%,with the prevalence of defect dental fluorosis increasing with increasing fluoride intake. There was also a significant negative(inverse) dose-response relationship between the daily total intake of fluoride and the overall preva-lence of dental caries,the prevalence of which decreased when the daily total intake of fluoride increased up to 3.32 mg/child/day. However,at higher levels of daily total intake of fluoride the prevalence of dental caries increased,giving rise to a U-shaped dose-response relationship curve. | 5 | A novel protein RASON encoded by a lncRNA controls oncogenic RAS signaling in KRAS mutant cancers显示文摘Mutations of the RAS oncogene are found in around 30%of all human cancers yet direct targeting of RAS is still considered clinically impractical except for the KRAS^(G12C)mutant.Here we report that RAS-ON(RASON),a novel protein encoded by the long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 00673(LINC00673),is a positive regulator of oncogenic RAS signaling.RASON is aberrantly overexpressed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)patients,and it promotes proliferation of human PDAC cell lines in vitro and tumor growth in vivo.CRISPR/Cas9-mediated knockout of Rason in mouse embryonic fibroblasts inhibits KRAS-mediated tumor transformation.Genetic deletion of Rason abolishes oncogenic KRAS-driven pancreatic and lung cancer tumorigenesis in LSL Kras^(G12D);Trp53R172H/+mice.Mechanistically,RASON directly binds to KRAS^(G12D)/V and inhibits both intrinsic and GTPase activating protein(GAP)-mediated GTP hydrolysis,thus sustaining KRAS^(G12D/V)in the GTP-bound hyperactive state.Therapeutically,deprivation of RASON sensitizes KRAS mutant pancreatic cancer cells and patient-derived organoids to EGFR inhibitors.Our findings identify RASON as a critical regulator of oncogenic KRAS signaling and a promising therapeutic target for KRAS mutant cancers. | Rongjie Cheng Fanying Li Maolei Zhang Xin Xia Jianzhuang Wu Xinya Gao Huangkai Zhou Zhi Zhang Nunu Huang Xuesong Yang Yaliang Zhang Shunli Shen Tiebang Kang Zexian Liu Feizhe Xiao Hongwei Yao Jianbo Xu Chao Yan Nu Zhang | 2023 | Cell Research2023,33,1: | 1 |
| 6 | LncRNA109897-JrCCR4-JrTLP1b forms a positive feedback loop to regulate walnut resistance against anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides显示文摘Walnut anthracnose induced by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides is a disastrous disease that severely restricts the development of the walnut industry in China.Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)are involved in adaptive responses to disease,but their roles in the regulation of walnut anthracnose resistance response are not well defined.In this study,transcriptome analysis demonstrated that a C.gloeosporioides-induced lncRNA,lncRNA109897,located upstream from the target gene JrCCR4,upregulated the expression of JrCCR4.JrCCR4 interacted with JrTLP1b and promoted its transcriptional activity.In turn,JrTLP1b induced the transcription of lncRNA109897 to promote its expression.Meanwhile,transient expression in walnut leaves and stable transformation of Arabidopsis thaliana further proved that lncRNA,JrCCR4,and JrTLP1b improve the resistance of C.gloeosporioides.Collectively,these findings provide insights into the mechanism by which the lncRNA109897-JrCCR4-JrTLP1b transcriptional cascade regulates the resistance of walnut to anthracnose. | Rui Zhou Yuhui Dong Changxi Wang Jianning Liu Qiang Liang Xiaoye Meng Xinya Lang Shengyi Xu Wenjun Liu Shuhui Zhang Nan Wang Ke Qiang Yang Hongcheng Fang | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,6: | 0 |
