Effect of six kinds of scale inhibitors on calcium carbonate precipitation in high salinity wastewater at high temperatures显示文摘Precipitation of calcium carbonate(Ca CO3) scale on heat transfer surfaces is a serious and expensive problem widely occurring in numerous industrial processes. In this study, we compared the scale inhibition effect of six kinds of commercial scale inhibitors and screened out the best one(scale inhibitor SQ-1211) to investigate its scale inhibition performance in highly saline conditions at high temperature through static scale inhibition tests. The influences of scale inhibitor dosage, temperature, heating time and p H on the inhibition efficiency of the optimal scale inhibitor were investigated. The morphologies and crystal structures of the precipitates were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray Diffraction analysis. Results showed that the scale inhibition efficiency of the optimal scale inhibitor decreased with the increase of the reaction temperature. When the concentration of Ca2+was 1600 mg/L, the scale inhibition rate could reach 90.7% at 80°C at p H 8. The optimal scale inhibitor could effectively retard scaling at high temperature. In the presence of the optimal scale inhibitor, the main crystal structure of Ca CO3 changed from calcite to aragonite. | Xiaochen Li Baoyu Gao Qinyan Yue Defang Ma Hongyan Rong Pin Zhao Pengyou Teng | 2015 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2015,27,3: | 15
Embryonic endothelial evolution towards first hematopoietic stem cells revealed by single-cell transcriptomic and functional analyses显示文摘Hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs)in adults are believed to be born from hemogenic endothelial cells(HECs)in mid-gestational embryos.Due to the rare and transient nature, the HSC-competent HECs have never been stringently identified and accurately captured, let alone their genuine vascular precursors. Here,we first used high-precision single-cell transcriptomics to unbiasedly examine the relevant EC populations at continuous developmental stages with intervals of 0.5 days from embryonic day(E)9.5 to E11.0.As a consequence,we transcriptomically identified two molecularly different arterial EC populations and putative HSCprimed HECs,whose number peaked at El 0.0 and sharply decreased thereafter,in the dorsal aorta of the aorta-gonadmesonephros(AGM)region.Combining computational prediction and in vivo functional validation,we precisely captured HSCcompetent HECs by the newly constructed Neurl3-EGFP reporter mouse model, and realized the enrichment further by a combination of surface markers(Procr+Kit+CD44+,PK44).Surprisingly,the endothelial-hematopoietic dual potential was rarely but reliably witnessed in the cultures of single HECs.Noteworthy, primitive vascular ECs from E8.0 experienced two-step fate choices to become HSC-primed HECs,namely an Initial arterial fate choice followed by a hemogenic fate conversion. This finding resolves several previously observed contradictions.Taken together, comprehensive understanding of endothelial evolutions and molecular programs underlying HSC-primed HEC specification in vivo will facilitate future investigations directing HSC production in vitro. | Siyuan Hou Zongcheng Li Xiaona Zheng Yun Gao Ji Dong Yanli Ni Xiaobo Wang Yunqiao Li Xiaochen Ding Zhilin Chang Shuaili Li Yuqiong Hu Xiaoying Fan Yu Hou Lu Wen Bing Liu Fuchou Tang Yu Lan | 2020 | Cell Research2020,30,5: | 8

Comparison of nonhuman primates identified the suitable model for COVID-19显示文摘Identification of a suitable nonhuman primate(NHP)model of COVID-19 remains challenging. Here,we characterized severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection in three NHP species:Old World monkeys Macaca mulatta(M.mulatta)and Macaca fascicularis(M.fascicularis)and New World monkey Callithrix jacchus(C.jacchus).Infected M.mulatta and M.fascicularis showed abnormal chest radiographs,an increased body temperature and a decreased body weight.Viral genomes were detected in swab and blood samples from all animals.Viral load was detected in the pulmonary tissues of M.mulatta and M.fascicularis but not C.jacchus.Furthermore,among the three animal species,M.mulatta showed the strongest response to SARS-CoV-2,including increased inflammatory cytokine expression and pathological changes in the pulmonary tissues.Collectively, these data revealed the different susceptibilities of Old World and New World monkeys to SARS-CoV-2 and identified M.mulatta as the most suitable for modeling COVID-19. | Shuaiyao Lu Yuan Zhao Wenhai Yu Yun Yang Jiahong Gao Junbin Wang Dexuan Kuang Mengli Yang Jing Yang Chunxia Ma Jingwen Xu Xingli Qian Haiyan Li Siwen Zhao Jingmei Li Haixuan Wang Haiting Long Jingxian Zhou Fangyu Luo Kaiyun Ding Daoju Wu Yong Zhang Yinliang Dong Yuqin Liu Yinqiu Zheng Xiaochen Lin Li Jiao Huanying Zheng Qing Dai Qiangming Sun Yunzhang Hu Changwen Ke Hongqi Liu Xiaozhong Peng | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 5

Precise temporal regulation of Dux is important for embryo development显示文摘Dear Editor,Zygotic genome activation(ZGA)following fertilization is accomplished through a process termed the maternal-to-zygotic transition, during which the maternal RNAs and proteins are degraded and zygotic genome is transcriptionally activated. In mice, minor ZGA occurs from S phase of the zygote to G1 phase of the two-cell(2C)embryo,while major ZGA takes place during the middle-to-late 2C stage with a burst of transcription of totipotent cleavage stage-specific genes and retrotransposons. | Mingyue Guo Yanping Zhang Jianfeng Zhou Yan Bi Junqin Xu Ce Xu Xiaochen Kou Yanhong Zhao Yanhe Li Zhifen Tu Kuisheng Liu Jiaming Lin Peng Yang Shaorong Gao Yixuan Wang | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,11: | 5
Nuclear m^(6)A reader YTHDC1 regulates the scaffold function of LINE1 RNA in mouse ESCs and early embryos显示文摘N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)on chromosome-associated regulatory RNAs(carRNAs),including repeat RNAs,plays important roles in tuning the chromatin state and transcription, but the intrinsic mechanism remains unclear. Here,we report that YTHDC1 plays indispensable roles in the self-renewal and differentiation potency of mouse embryonic stem cells(ESCs),which highly depends on the m^(6)A-binding ability.Ythdcl is required for sufficient rRNA synthesis and repression of the 2-cell(2C)transcriptional program in ESCs,which recapitulates the transcriptome regulation by the LINE1 scaffold.Detailed analyses revealed that YTHDC1 recognizes m^(6)A on LINE1 RNAs in the nucleus and regulates the formation of the LINE1-NCL partnership and the chromatin recruitment of KAP1.Moreover,the establishment of H3K9me3 on 2C-related retrotrans-posons is interrupted in Ythdcl-depleted ESCs and inner cell mass(ICM)cells, which consequently increases the transcriptional activities. Our study reveals a role of m^(6)A in regulating the RNA scaffold, providing a new model for the RNA-chromatin cross-talk. | Chuan Chen Wenqiang Liu Jiayin Guo Yuanyuan Liu Xuelian Liu Jun Liu Xiaoyang Dou Rongrong Le Yixin Huang Chong Li Lingyue Yang Xiaochen Kou Yanhong Zhao You Wu Jiayu Chen Hong Wang Bin Shen Yawei Gao Shaorong Gao | 2021 | Protein & Cell2021,12,6: | 4

SARS-CoV-2 non-structural protein 13 (nspl3) hijacks host deubiquitinase USP13 and counteracts host antiviral immune response显示文摘Dear Editor,COVID-19(Coronavirus Disease-2019),a respiratory disease caused by the novel virus strain,SARS-CoV-2(severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2),an enveloped,positive-sense,single-stranded RNA betacoronavirus of the family Corona-viridae,has spread worldwide.1 Notably,SARS-CoV-2 infection led to poor induction of typeⅠ interferon response, and the impaired type Ⅰ IFN responses have been shown to be associated with severe COVID-19 disease.2 However, molecular mechanisms by which SARS-CoV-2 suppresses type Ⅰ IFN production, and how host cells respond to the inhibition of type Ⅰ IFN response during SARS-CoV-2 infection, remain largely unknown. | Guijie Guo Ming Gao Xiaochen Gao Bibo Zhu Jinzhou Huang Kuntian Luo Yong Zhang Jie Sun Min Deng Zhenkun Lou | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,4: | 2

A newly developed ocean significant wave height retrieval method from Envisat ASAR wave mode imagery显示文摘The main objective of this paper is to propose a newly developed ocean Significant Wave Height (SWH) retrieval method from Envisat Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) imagery. A series of wave mode imagery from January, April and May of 2011 are collocated with ERA-Interim reanalysis SWH data. Based on the matched datasets, a simplified empirical relationship between 22 types of SAR imagery parameters and SWH products is developed with the Genetic Algorithms Partial Least-Squares (GA-PLS) model. Two major features of the backscattering coefficient σ0 and the frequency parameter S10 are chosen as the optimal training feature subset of SWH retrieval by using cross validation. In addition, we also present a comparison of the retrieval results of the simplified empirical relationship with the collocated ERA-Interim data. The results show that the assessment index of the correlation coefficient, the bias, the root-mean-square error of cross validation (RMSECV) and the scattering index (SI) are 0.78, 0.07 m, 0.76 m and 0.5, respectively. In addition, the comparison of the retrieved SWH data between our simplifying model and the Jason-2 radar altimeter data is proposed in our study. Moreover, we also make a comparison of the retrieval of SWH data between our developed model and the well- known CWAVE_ENV model. The results show that satisfying retrieval results are acquired in the low-moderate sea state, but major bias appears in the high sea state, especially for SWH>5 m. | Chenqing Fan Xiaochen Wang Xudong Zhang Dong Gao | 2019 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,9: | 2
Heterogeneity in endothelial cells and widespread venous arterialization during early vascular development in mammals显示文摘Arteriogenesis rather than unspecialized capillary expansion is critical for restoring effective circulation to compromised tissues in patients.Deciphering the origin and specification of arterial endothelial cells during embryonic development will shed light on the understanding of adult arteriogenesis. However, during early embryonic angiogenesis, the process of endothelial diversification and molecular events underlying arteriovenous fate settling remain largely unresolved in mammals. Here,we constructed the single-cell transcriptomic Iandscape of vascular endothelial cells(VECs)during the time window for the occurrenee of key vasculogenic and angiogenic events in both mouse and human embryos. We uncovered two distinct arterial VEC types, the major artery VECs and arterial plexus VECs,and un expectedly diverge nt arteriove nous characteristics among VECs that are located in morphologically undistinguishable vascular plexus intra-embryonically.Using computational prediction and further lineage tracing of venous-featured VECs with a newly developed Nr2f2^(CrexER) | Siyuan Hou Zongcheng Li Ji Dong Yun Gao Zhilin Chang Xiaochen Ding Shuaili Li Yunqiao Li Yang Zeng Qian Xin Baihan Wang Yanli Ni Xiaowei Ning Yuqiong Hu Xiaoying Fan Yu Hou Xianlong Li Lu Wen Bin Zhou Bing Liu Fuchou Tang Yu Lan | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,4: | 2

Fully Organic Self-Powered Electronic Skin with Multifunctional and Highly Robust Sensing Capability显示文摘Electronic skin(e-skin)with skin-like flexibility and tactile sensation will promote the great advancements in the fields of wearable equipment. Thus, the multifunction and high robustness are two important requirements for sensing capability of the e-skin.Here,a fully organic self-powered e-skin(FOSE-skin)based on the triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)is developed.FOSE-skin based on TENG can be fully self-healed within 10 hours after being sheared by employing the self-healing polymer as a triboelectric layer and ionic liquid with the temperature sensitivity as an electrode.FOSE-skin based on TENG has the multifunctional and highly robust sensing capability and can sense the pressure and temperature simultaneously. The sensing capability of the FOSE-skin based on TENG can be highly robust with no changes after self-healing.FOSE-skin based on TENG can be employed to detect the arm swing, the temperature change of flowing water, and the motion trajectory. This work provides a new idea for solving the issues of monofunctional and low robust sensing capability for FOSE-skin based on TENG,which can further promote the application of wearable electronics in soft robotics and bionic prosthetics. | Lijuan Song Zheng Zhang Xiaochen Xun Liangxu Xu Fangfang Gao Xuan Zhao Zhuo Kang Qingliang Liao Yue Zhang | 2021 | Research2021,,1: | 2
Study on the Clouds Detected by a Millimeter-Wave Cloud Radar over the Hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert in April–June 2018显示文摘This study was the first to conduct high-resolution consecutive detection of clouds over the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert(TD)from April to June 2018 based on a ground-based Ka-band millimeter-wave cloud radar(MMCR),with focus on the structure and evolution of the desert clouds. We calculated reflectivity factor(Z),cloud boundary, and liquid water content(LWC)by use of the MMCR power spectrum data, which were verified against the observations from cloud profile radar(CPR)on board Cloud Sat.The results show that the TD clouds were mostly medium and high clouds, with thickness generally less than 2 km;moreover, the mean LWCs of these clouds were less than 0.01 gm^(-3),implying that cirrus and stratiform clouds were predominant. For the observed low clouds, however, the average thickness was 3166 m and accompanying drizzles were concentrated within 2.5-4.5 km,indicating that precipitation was more likely to occur in the low clouds. The mean LWC in the TD clouds was 0.0196 gm^(-3),less than that of clean clouds.Compared to other periods, the average durations and LWCs in the TD clouds increased significantly around noon owing to obvious surface sensible heating. The average time for evolution of high clouds into low clouds was approximately 2 h,and the average maximum LWC increased from 0.008 to 0.139 gm;.The results obtained herein provide a key reference for further studies of the structure and evolution characteristics of the desert clouds. | Hu MING Minzhong WANG Ming WEI Yinjun WANG Xiaochen HOU Mingliang GAO | 2021 | Journal of Meteorological Research2021,35,6: | 2

Dynamic nucleosome organization after fertilization reveals regulatory factors for mouse zygotic genome activation显示文摘Chromatin remodeling is essential for epigenome reprogramming after frilization. However, the underlying mechanisms of chromatin remodeling remain to be explored. Here,we investigated the dynamic changes in nucleosome occupancy and positioning in pronucleus-stage zygotes using ultra low-input MNase seq.We observed distinct features of inheritance and reconstruction of nucleosome positioning in both paternal and maternal genomes.Genome wide de novo nucleosome occupancy in the paternal genome was observed as early as 1 h after the injection of sperm into ooplasm. The nucleosome positioning pattern was continually rebuilt to form nucleosome-depleted regions(NDRs)at promoters and transcription factor(TF)binding sites with differential dynamics in paternal and maternal genomes.NDRs formed more quickly on the promoters of genes involved in zygotic genome activation(ZGA),and this formation is closely linked to histone acetylation, but not transcription elongation or DNA replication.Importantly,we found that NDR establishment on the binding motifs of specific TFs might be associated with their potential pioneer functions in ZGA.Further investigations suggested that the predicted factors MLX and RFX1 played important roles in regulating minor and major ZGA,respectively. Our data not only elucidate the nucleosome positioning dynamics in both male and female pronuclei fllowing frtiliatin, but also provide an eficient method for identifying key transcription regulators during development. | Chenfei Wang Chuan Chen Xiaoyu Liu Chong Li Qiu Wu Xiaolan Chen Lingyue Yang Xiaochen Kou Yanhong Zhao Hong Wang Yawei Gao Yong Zhang Shaorong Gao | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,9: | 1
