Prediction of cervical lymph node metastases in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma by sonographic features of the primary site显示文摘Objective: To study the sonographic features of the primary site of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma(PTMC) for the prediction of cervical lymph node metastasis during preoperative diagnosis. Methods: A total of 710 PTMC patients between 2013 and 2016 with a diagnosis of cervical lymph node metastases were reviewed. We analyzed the sonographic features of the PTMC primary site to predict ipsilateral or central lymph node metastases in univariate and multivariate models. The ratio of abutment/perimeter of the PTMC primary site was utilized to evaluate cervical lymph node status. Results: Regarding clinical characteristics, multifocality and extrathyroidal extension were associated with cervical lymph node involvement. In the multivariate regression model, calcification and the abutment/perimeter ratio of lesions were evaluated as independent factors in level Ⅵ, ipsilateral or skip cervical lymph node metastases. The cut-off value of the ratio of abutment/perimeter of the PTMC primary site(25%) was significantly correlated with cervical lymph node metastases(P = 0.000).Conclusions: Independent sonographic features, including lesion size, lesion location, calcification, and the ratio of abutment/perimeter of the primary site, were associated with cervical lymph node metastases in PTMC patients. | Xi Wei Meng Wang Xiaoqing Wang Xiangqian Zheng Ying Li Yi Pan Yueguo Li Jiali Mu Yang Yu Dapeng Li Ming Gao Sheng Zhang | 2019 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,3: | 22
A cyclic nucleotide-gated channel mediates cytoplasmic calcium elevation and disease resistance in rice显示文摘The transient elevation of cytoplasmic calcium is essential for pathogen-associated molecular pattern(PAMP)-triggered immunity(PTI).However, the calcium channels responsible for this process have remained unknown. Here,we show that rice CDSI(CELL DEATH and SUSCEPTIBLE to BLAST 1)encoding OsCNGC9;a cyclic nucleotide-gated channel protein, positively regulates the resistance to rice blast disease. We show that OsCNGC9 mediates PAMP-induced Ca2+influx and that this event is critical for PAMPs-triggered ROS burst and induction of PTI-related defense gene expression. We further show that a PTI related receptor-lih cytoplasmic kinase OsRLCK185 physically interacts with and phosphorylates OsCNGC9 to activate its channel activity. Our results suggest a signaling cascade linking pattern recognition to calcium channel activation, which is required for initiation of PTI and disease resistance in rice. | Jiachang Wang Xi Liu An Zhang Yulong Ren Fuqing Wu Gang Wang Yang Xu Cailin Lei Shanshan Zhu Tian Pan Yongfei Wang Huan Zhang Fan Wang Yan-Qiu Tan Yupeng Wang Xin Jin Sheng Luo Chunlei Zhou Xiao Zhang Jinling Liu Shuai Wang Lingzhi Meng Yihua Wang Xi Chen Qibing Lin Xin Zhang Xiuping Guo Zhijun Cheng Jiulin Wang Yunlu Tian Shijia Liu Ling Jiang Chuanyin Wu Ertao Wang Jian-Min Zhou Yong-Fei Wang Haiyang Wang Jianmin Wan | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,10: | 13

Transcriptional activation and phosphorylation of OsCNGC9 confer enhanced chilling tolerance in rice显示文摘Low temperature is a major environmental factor that limits plant growth and productivity.Although transient elevation of cytoplasmic calcium has long been recognized as a critical signal for plant cold tolerance, the calcium channels responsible for this process have remained largely elusive. Here we report that OsCNGC9,a cyclic nucleotide-gated channel, positively regulates chilling tolerance by mediating cytoplasmic calcium elevation in rice(Oryza sativa). We showed that the loss-of-function mutant of OsCNGC9 is defective in cold-induced calcium influx and more sensitive to prolonged cold treatment, whereas OsCNGC9 overexpression confers enhanced cold tolerance.Mechanistically,we demonstrated that in response to chilling stress,OsSAPK8,a homolog of Arabidopsis thaliana OST1,phosphorylates and activates OsCNGC9 to trigger Ca2+influx.Moreover,we found that the transcription of OsCNGC9 is activated by a rice dehydration-responsive element-binding transcription factor,OsDREB1A.Taken together, our results suggest that OsCNGC9 enhances chilling tolerance in rice through regulating cold-induced calcium influx and cytoplasmic calcium elevation. | Jiachang Wang Yulong Ren Xi Liu Sheng Luo Xiao Zhang Xin Liu Qibing Lin Shanshan Zhu Hua Wan Yang Yang Yu Zhang Bin Lei Chunlei Zhou Tian Pan Yongfei Wang Mingming Wu Ruonan jing Yang Xu Meng Han Fuqing Wu Cailin Lei Xiuping Guo Zhijun Cheng Xiaoming Zheng Yihua Wang Zhigang Zhao Ling Jiang Xin Zhang Yong-Fei Wang Haiyang Wang Jianmin Wan | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,2: | 10
Comparison of Xpert MTB/RIF, Real Amp, and CPA Tests in Detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis显示文摘Today, tuberculosis (TB) remains a global public health threat associated with significantly high rates of morbidity and mortality. The World Health Organization's (WHO) Global Tuberculosis Report 2018[1] has reported that in 2017, 10.0 million people across the world had developed TB diseases that resulted in an estimated 1.6 million deaths, and 889, 000 people developed TB in China that led to 39, 000 TB-related deaths. Therefore, rapid and accurate detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is important for initiating early treatment and reducing mortality. Traditional diagnostic methods for pulmonary TB incorporate chest radiography and sputum smear microscopy;however, several cases of tuberculosis go undiagnosed because of the low sensitivity of smear microscopy[2]. | OU Xi Chao LI Hui LIU Dong Xin XIA Hui MA Xiao Guang WANG Shao Hua WANG Sheng Fen ZHU Yan Kun ZHAO Bing ZHAO Yan Lin | 2019 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2019,32,3: | 9
Optimizing mechanical property and cytocompatibility of the biodegradable Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy by hot extrusion and heat treatment显示文摘The Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy is a new type of degradable material for biomedical application. In the present study, Mg-6Zn-1.2Y-0.8Nd alloy was fabricated, and then extrusion and heat treatment were conducted to optimize its mechanical properties and cytocompatibility. The microstructure observation, mechanical property, degradation behavior and cytocompatibility tests were conducted on the Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy with three different states: as-cast(alloy C), as-extruded(alloy E) and extruded + heat treated(alloy EH).The results show that alloy C consists of coarse grains and continuous secondary phases. The extrusion process has caused incomplete recrystallization, and results in a mixed grain structure of elongated grains and small equiaxed grains(alloy E). The heat treatment process has promoted the recrystallization and homogenized the grain structure(alloy EH). Both the strength and ductility of the alloy has been improved by extrusion, but the following heat treatment has decreased the strength and increased the ductility. The degradation behavior of the alloy C and E alloys does not show much difference, but improves slightly in alloy EH, because the heat treatment has homogenized the microstructure and released the residual stress in the alloy. The directly and indirectly cell viability tests indicate that alloy EH exhibits the best cytocompatibility, which should be ascribed to its relative uniform degradation and low ion releasing rate. In summary, the combination of hot extrusion and heat treatment could optimize the mechanical property and cytocompatibility of the Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy together, which is beneficial for the future application of the alloy. | Yiyuan Kang Beining Du Yueming Li Baojie Wang Liyuan Sheng Longquan Shao Yufeng Zheng Tingfei Xi | 2019 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,1: | 8
Plasma endothelin in patients with endotoxemia and dynamic comparison between vasoconstrictor and vasodilator in cirrhotic patients显示文摘INTRODUCTIONPortal hypertension is a common clinical syndromecharacterized by an abnormal increase in portalblood to the systemic circulation, bypassing theliver. Recent studies have reported that humoralsubstances play an important role in thepathogenesis of portal hypertension, either byincreasing vascular resistance at both theintrahepatic and porto-collateral sites or affectingsplanchnic vasodilation with a concomitant increasein parto-collateral blood flow[1-6] | Feng Liu1 Ji Xin Li2, Chun Mei Li2 Xi Sheng Leng2 1Department of General Surgery, the Fifth Affiliated Hospital, Harbin Medical University, Harbin 150036, Heilongjiang Province, China2Department of General Surgery, People’s Hospital, Medical University, Beijing 100044, China | 2001 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2001,7,1: | 8
A combination of follicle stimulating hormone, estradiol and age is associated with the pregnancy outcome for women undergoing assisted reproduction: a retrospective cohort analysis显示文摘To investigate the effect of basal hormone levels including follicle stimulating hormone(FSH) and estradiol(E2) and age on the pregnancy outcomes in women undergoing in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET), we designed a retrospective cohort analysis and collected information of patients undergoing IVF between January 2014 and April 2017. We found that young women had much better pregnancy outcomes than older women regardless of the hormone levels. The pregnancy outcomes declined in young women with high basal E2, even though they had normal FSH. Older women with higher FSH had a worse outcome of pregnancy, especially with increased E2 level. The results suggest that a combination of FSH, E2 and age could effectively predict the pregnancy outcome for women undergoing IVF-ET, and we should encourage infertile women with diminished ovarian reserve, especially young infertile women, to try the assisted reproduction as early as possible. After 40-yearold, the cost-benefit ratio should be considered according to the ovarian function. | Ziru Jiang Li Jin Weihui Shi Ji Xi Yulian Hu Xinmei Liu Jianzhong Sheng Guolian Ding Hefeng Huang | 2019 | Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,1: | 7

Their transition temperature is found to be dependent on the organic cations due to molecular motion and hydrogen bond interaction, providing possibilities to prepare thermochromic semiconductors near room temperature for smart window applications. | Jingwen Li Xiaolong Liu Peixin Cui Junmeng Li Tao Ye Xi Wang Chuang Zhang Yong Sheng Zhao | 2019 | Science China Chemistry2019,62,9: | 6 |
Effect of Chain Configuration on Thermal Conductivity of Polyethylene-A Molecular Dynamic Simulation Study显示文摘Stretched polyethylene(PE)fibers are found to have super high thermal conductivity, while the bulk of polyethylene is usually thermal insulating even for those with high crystalline degree.A molecular dynamic simulation is deliberately carried out to examine the relationship between chain configuration and thermal conductivity of polyethylene. In this simulation study, independent and interacting PE chains being stretched are compared with the aim to find out the effect of stretching on thermal conductivity of PE.Various crystallization conditions for PE bulk are considered. It is found that heat transports predominately along the covalent chain rather than across chains in PE crystals. Our simulation study helps to understand experimental findings on thermal conductivity of PE at different states.W e also predict that amorphous PE may be super thermally conductive if chains are strictly stretched along heat flux. | Xiang Zhang Yu Wang Ru Xi Bin Wu Peng Chen Jia Sheng Qian Hao-Jun Liang | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2020,38,12: | 6
Influence of Zn Content on Microstructure and Tensile Properties of Mg–Zn–Y–Nd Alloy显示文摘In the present study, the effect of Zn content on the microstructure and deformation behavior of the as-cast Mg–Zn–Y–Nd alloy has been investigated. The results showed that as Zn content increased, the volume fraction of secondary phases increased. Moreover, the phase transformation from W-phase to W-phase and I-phase occurred. In the as-cast state,W-phase exists as eutectic and large block form. When Zn content increases to 6 and 8%(wt%), small I-phase could precipitate around W-phase particles. Additionally, the effect of Zn content on the tensile properties and deformation behavior varies with the testing temperature. At room temperature, the tensile strength increases with Zn content, whereas the elongation increases initially and then decreases. At 250 °C, as Zn content increases, the tensile strength decreases initially and then increases slightly, whereas the elongation decreases. At 350 °C, the elongation increases with Zn content, whereas the tensile strength decreases initially and then increases slightly. | Bei-Ning Du Zi-Yang Hu Li-Yuan Sheng Dao-Kui Xu Yu-Feng Zheng Ting-Fei Xi | 2018 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2018,31,4: | 5

The EGFR-P38 MAPK axis up-regulates PD-L1 through miR-675-5p and down-regulates HLA-ABC via hexokinase-2 in hepatocellular carcinoma cells显示文摘Background:Immunotherapy has been shown to be a promising strategy against human cancers.A better understanding of the immune regulation in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)could help the development of immunotherapy against HCC.The epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)signaling is frequently activated in HCC and plays important roles in tumorigenesis. However, its role in HCC immunity is still largely unknown. This study aimed to investigate the impact of EGFR signaling on programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)and human leukocyte antigen class-I(HLA-I)expression in HCC cells and its underlying mechanisms. Methods:The expression of phosphorylated EGFR(p-EGFR),PD-L1,and HLAI(HLA-ABC)in HCC specimens was detected by immunohistochemistry, and their correlations were analyzed.PD-L1 and HLA-ABC expression in EGFRactivated HCC cells were detected by quantitative real-time PCR,Western blotting, and flow cytometry, and T cell-mediated lysis was performed to test the immunosuppressive effects of PD-L1 and HLA-ABC alterations in HCC cells.Furthermore, the underlying mechanisms of EGFR activation-induced PD-L1 up-regulation and HLA-ABC down-regulation were explored by animal experiments, luciferase reporter assay, and gene gain-and loss-of-function studies.Results:p-EGFR was positively correlated with PD-L1 and negatively correlated with HLA-ABC expression in HCCs.EGFR activation by its ligand EGF up-regulated PD-L1 and down-regulated HLA-ABC in HCC cells, which was functionally important and could be abolished by the EGFR inhibitor, gefitinib, both in vitro and in vivo.Mechanistically, enhanced P38 mitogenactivated protein kinase(MAPK)activation down-regulated microRNA-675-5p(miR-675-5p)and up-regulated glycolysis-related enzyme hexokinase 2(HK2);miR-675-5p down-regulation enhanced the stability of PD-L1 mRNA probably via the 3’-untranslated region(3’-UTR)of PD-L1 and thereby caused PD-L1 accumulation, and HK2 up-regulation enhanced aerobic glycolysis and mediated a decrease in HLA-ABC.Conclusions:The EGFR-P38 MAPK axis could up-regulate PD-L1 through miR-675-5p and down-regulate HLA-ABC via HK2 in HCC cells. Our study reveals a novel signaling network that may cause immune suppression in HCC and suggests that EGFR signaling can be targeted for HCC immunotherapy. | Zongcai Liu Fen Ning Yanna Cai Huiying Sheng Ruidan Zheng Xi Yin Zhikun Lu Ling Su Xiaodan Chen Chunhua Zeng Haifang Wang Li Liu | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,1: | 5
Sea ice thickness estimation in the Bohai Sea using geostationary ocean color imager data显示文摘A method to estimate the thickness of the sea ice of the Bohai Sea is proposed using geostationary ocean color imager(GOCI) data and then applied to the dynamic monitoring of the sea ice thickness in the Bohai Sea during the winter of 2014 to 2015.First of all,a model is given between the GOCI shortwave broadband albedo and the reflectance of each band with high temporal resolution GOCI data. Then, the relationship model between the sea ice thickness and the GOCI shortwave broadband albedo is established and applied to the thickness extraction of the sea ice in the Bohai Sea.Finally, the sea ice thickness extraction method is tested by the results based on the MODIS data, thermodynamic empirical models(Lebedev and Zubov),and the in situ ice thickness data. The test results not only indicated that the sea ice thickness retrieval method based on the GOCI data was a good correlation(r^2>0.86) with the sea ice thickness retrieved by the MODIS and thermodynamic empirical models, but also that the RMS is only 6.82 cm different from the thickness of the sea ice based on the GOCI and in situ data. | LIU Wensong SHENG Hui ZHANG Xi | 2016 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,7: | 5

Fine equiaxed β grains and superior tensile property in Ti-6Al-4V alloy deposited by coaxial electron beam wire feeding additive manufacturing显示文摘Coarse columnar β grains result in anisotropic mechanical properties in Ti alloys deposited by additive manufacturing. This study reports that Ti-6Al-4V alloy fabricated by coaxial electron beam wire feeding additive manufacturing presents a weak anisotropy, high strength and ductility. The superior tensile property arises from a microstructure with fine equiaxed β grains(EGβ), discontinuous grain boundary α phase and short intragranular α lamellae. A large region of fine EGβ arises from a special combination of the temperature gradient and solidification rate, and attractive α morphology is caused by solid phase transformations during interpass thermal cycling and post heat treatments. | Jiahua Zhang Yi Yang Sheng Cao Zhiqiang Cao Dmytro Kovalchuk Songquan Wu Enquan Liang Xi Zhang Wei Chen Fan Wu Aijun Huang | 2020 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2020,33,10: | 5

Whole Genome Analyses of Chinese Population and De Novo Assembly of A Northern Han Genome显示文摘To unravel the genetic mechanisms of disease and physiological traits,it requires comprehensive sequencing analysis of large sample size in Chinese populations. Here,we report the primary results of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Precision Medicine Initiative(CASPMI)project launched by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, including the de novo assembly of a northern Han reference genome(NH1.0)and whole genome analyses of 597 healthy people coming from most areas in China.Given the two existing reference genomes for Han Chinese(YH and HX1)were both from the south,we constructed NH1.0,a new reference genome from a northern individual,by combining the sequencing strategies of PacBio,10×Genomics,and Bionano mapping.Using this integrated approach,we obtained an N50 scaffold size of 46.63 Mb for the NH1.0 genome and performed a comparative genome analysis of NH1.0 with YH and HX1.In order to generate a genomic variation map of Chinese populations,we performed the whole-genome sequencing of 597 participants and identified 24.85 million(M)single nucleotide variants(SNVs),3.85 M small indels, and 106,382 structural variations. In the association analysis with collected phenotypes,we found that the T allele of rs1549293 in KAT8 significantly correlated with the waist circumference in northern Han males. Moreover, significant genetic diversity in MTHFR,TCN2,FADS1,and FADS2,which associate with circulating folate, vitamin B12,or lipid metabolism, was observed between northerners and southerners.Especially, for the homocysteine-increasing allele of rs1801133(MTHFR 677T),we hypothesize that there exists a “comfort”zone for a high frequency of 677T between latitudes of 35–45 degree North.Taken together, our results provide a high-quality northern Han reference genome and novel population-specific data sets of genetic variants for use in the personalized and precision medicine. | Zhenglin Du Liang Ma Hongzhu Qu Wei Chen Bing Zhang Xi Lu Weibo Zhai Xin Sheng Yongqiao Sun Wenjie Li Meng Lei Qiuhui Qi Na Yuan Shuo Shi Jingyao Zeng Jinyue Wang Yadong Yang Qi Liu Yaqiang Hong Lili Dong Zhewen Zhang Dong Zou Yanqing Wang Shuhui Song Fan Liu Xiangdong Fang Hua Chen Xin Liu Jingfa Xiao Changqing Zeng | 2019 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2019,17,3: | 4
Power flows of three non-conservatively series-coupled oscillators, Part Ⅱ: Numerical analysis显示文摘The direct and indirect power flows among three non-conservatively series-coupled oscillators subjected to random forces have been investigated by the numerical method. The relationship between the power flows and the parameters of the oscillators and couplings have been studied. It is shown that the indirect power flow is caused by the resonant transmission between the indirectly coupled oscillators. Once the parameters of the oscillator elements have been settled, the indirect power flow is mainly determined by the coupling stiffness k3 and k4, and is less infiuenced by coupling dampings c3 and c4. The indirect power flow cannot be ignored in strong coupling conditions. Because of the resonant transmission between the indirectly coupled oscillators, the indirect power flow still cannot be neglected even if the coupling stiffness is relatively small and the coupling damping is relatively | WANG Minqing(Xi’an Jiaotong University Xi’an 710049)SHENG Meiping Ren Keming SUN Jincai(Institute of Acoustics Engineering, Northwestern Polgtechnical University Xi’an 710072) | 1998 | Chinese Journal of Acoustics1998,17,3: | 4
