1Future Physics Programme of BESⅢ显示文摘There has recently been a dramatic renewal of interest in hadron spectroscopy and charm physics. This renaissance has been driven in part by the discovery of a plethora of charmonium-like XYZ states at BESⅢ and B factories, and the observation of an intriguing proton-antiproton threshold enhancement and the possibly related X(1835) meson state at BESⅢ, as well as the threshold measurements of charm mesons and charm baryons. We present a detailed survey of the important topics in tau-charm physics and hadron physics that can be further explored at BESⅢ during the remaining operation period of BEPCⅡ. 4Partial discharge characteristics of interturn insulation used for inverter-fed traction motor under bipolar impulses显示文摘Inverter-fed traction motors,which are employed for electric-multiple-units(EMUs),are subjected to Pulse Width Modulated(PWM) impulse voltage.Impulse voltage has fast rise/fall time and high repetition frequency.The failure mechanism of insulation under impulses is different from that of standard 50 Hz sinusoidal condition.Partial discharge(PD) characteristics(discharge number,mean discharge quantity and phase resolved partial discharge(PRPD) pattern) with different frequencies and different rise times of impulse voltage were investigated.The results reveal that discharge number and mean discharge quantity increase,while PRPD pattern moves to the zero of impulse voltage with decrease of rise time.Discharge number and PRPD pattern follow that trend with increase of frequency,the value of mean discharge quantity is similar.Memory effect of the deposited space charges on PD was studied.PRPD pattern moves to the zero of bipolar impulse voltage due to the role of space charges,with increase of frequency and decrease of rise time.It is revealed that available discharge time is prolonged and overvoltage across the cavity increases with augment of frequency,which results in discharge number increasing.Under the condition of shortening the rise time,with the same statistical time lag tL,△V would increase if dV/dt is higher,which results in enhancement of discharge quantity.Discharge number increases with reduction of rise time,because the decreased multiple of td is lower than the increased multiple of dV/dt.Study of PD characteristics and role of space charges is helpful to the exploration of the destructive mechanism of insulating materials under bipolar impulse.WU GuangNing CAO KaiJiang LUO Yang GAO Bo WANG Peng ZHANG YiQiang XU HuiHui 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,8:9
5Noise-sidebands-free and ultra-low-RIN 1.5 μm single-frequency fiber laser towards coherent optical detection显示文摘A noise-sidebands-free and ultra-low relative intensity noise(RIN) 1.5 μm single-frequency fiber laser is demonstrated for the first time to our best knowledge. Utilizing a self-injection locking framework and a booster optical amplifier, the noise sidebands with relative amplitudes as high as 20 dB are completely suppressed.The RIN is remarkably reduced by more than 64 dB at the relaxation oscillation peak to retain below-150 dB∕Hz in a frequency range from 75 kHz to 50 MHz, while the quantum noise limit is -152.9 d B∕Hz.Furthermore, a laser linewidth narrower than 600 Hz, a polarization-extinction ratio of more than 23 dB, and an optical signal-to-noise ratio of more than 73 dB are acquired simultaneously. 6Smart breeding driven by big data, artificial intelligence, and integrated genomic-enviromic prediction显示文摘The first paradigm of plant breeding involves direct selection-based phenotypic observation,followed by predictive breeding using statistical models for quantitative traits constructed based on genetic experimental design and,more recently,by incorporation of molecular marker genotypes.However,plant performance or phenotype(P)is determined by the combined effects of genotype(G),envirotype(E),and genotype by environment interaction(GEI).Phenotypes can be predicted more precisely by training a model using data collected from multiple sources,including spatiotemporal omics(genomics,phenomics,and enviromics across time and space).Integration of 3D information profiles(G-P-E),each with multidimensionality,provides predictive breeding with both tremendous opportunities and great challenges.Here,we first review innovative technologies for predictive breeding.We then evaluate multidimensional information profiles that can be integrated with a predictive breeding strategy,particularly envirotypic data,which have largely been neglected in data collection and are nearly untouched in model construction.We propose a smart breeding scheme,integrated genomic-enviromic prediction(iGEP),as an extension of genomic prediction,using integrated multiomics information,big data technology,and artificial intelligence(mainly focused on machine and deep learning).We discuss how to implement iGEP,including spatiotemporal models,environmental indices,factorial and spatiotemporal structure of plant breeding data,and cross-species prediction.A strategy is then proposed for prediction-based crop redesign at both the macro(individual,population,and species)and micro(gene,metabolism,and network)scales.Finally,we provide perspectives on translating smart breeding into genetic gain through integrative breeding platforms and open-source breeding initiatives.We call for coordinated efforts in smart breeding through iGEP,institutional partnerships,and innovative technological support.Yunbi Xu Xingping Zhang Huihui Li Hongjian Zheng Jianan Zhang Michael S.Olsen Rajeev K.Varshney Boddupalli M.Prasanna Qian Qian 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,11:7
7Effects of flooding stress on the photosynthetic apparatus of leaves of two Physocarpus cultivars显示文摘We applied under pot-culture conditions and the double-casing pot method to study the characteristics of photosynthetic gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence in the leaves of Physocarpus amurensis Maxim(PA) and Physocarpus opulifolius under flooding stress.Our results indicate a significantly higher flooding tolerance of P.opulifolius compared to P.amurensis.Especially in P.amurensis, the limitation of non-stomatal factors played a major role in the advanced stages of flooding stress,observed as a rapid increase of the intercellular CO_2 concentration(C_i) and a decrease of the stomatal limitation value(L_s).The maximal PSII photochemical efficiencies(F_v/F_m) and actual photochemical efficiency(?_(PSII)) in the leaves of P.opulifolius were significantly higher, and the extent of decrease during the flooding process was smaller than in P.amurensis.In addition, the non-chemical quenching(NPQ) in the leaves of P.opulifolius significantly increased from the 10 th day under flooding stress,while the variation of NPQ in the leaves of P.amurensis was much smaller.This indicates that the leaves of P.opulifolius had not only higher PSII photochemical activity, but also improved tolerance to flooding stress, which may be caused by its ability to dissipate excess excitation energy by starting NPQ.At the 16 th day under flooding stress, the PIABSsignificantly decreased with greater extent of decrease than F_v/F_m in the leaves of both Physocarpus,but the decreasing extent of PIABSin P.opulifolius was significantly smaller than in P.amurensis.In the 16 th day under flooding stress, the fluorescence at J and I point(V_J and V_I) in P.amurensis were significantly higher, and the extent of increase in V_J was greater than V_I.However, the variations of V_Jand V_I in the leaves of P.opulifolius were smaller, suggesting that the damage sites of flooding stress to PSII in the leaves of P.amurensis were mainly located in the electron transport process from Q_A at the PSII receptor side to Q_B.Flooding stress reduced the proportion(φ Eo) of luminous energy absorbed by the PSII reaction center for the electron transport following Q_A^-, while the maximum quantum yield(φ Do) of non-photochemical quenching increased.However, the TR_o/RC and ETo/RC in the leaves of P.amurensis decreased accompanied by a dramatic increase of energy(DI_o/RC) from the dissipation in the reaction center.This further indicated that the function of the PSII reaction center in the leaves of P.amurensis was significantly lower than in P.opulifolius.Huihui Zhang Peng Feng Wei Yang Xin Sui Xin Li Wei Li Rongtao Zhang Siyu Gu Nan Xu 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,4:6
8Artificial Selection in Domestication and Breeding Prevents Speciation in Rice显示文摘Speciation has long been regarded as an irreversible process once the reproductive barriers had been established.However,unlike in natural populations,artificial selection might either accelerate or prevent speciation processes in domesticated species.Asian cultivated rice is a target crop for both domestication and artificial breeding;it contains two subspecies of indica and japonica,which usually produce sterile inter-subspecific hybrids due to reproductive barriers.In this study,we constructed the evolutionary trajectory of a reproductive isolation system S5,which regulates fertility in indica-japonica hybrids via three adjacent genes,based on the data of 606 accessions including two cultivated and 11 wild rice species.Although hybrid sterility haplotypes at S5 lead to establishment of a killer-protector reproductive barrier,origin of wide-compatibility haplotypes by complex hybridization and recombination provides an opposing force to reproductive isolation and thus prevents speciation during domestication.Analysis in a diallel set of 209 crosses involving 21 parents showed that the wide-compatibility genotypes largely rescued fertility of indica-japonica hybrids,indicating that the wide-compatibility gene would enable gene flow to maintain species coherence.This counteracting system indicates that combined effects of natural evolution and artificial selection may result in reversible processes of speciation in rice,which may also have implications for genetic improvement of rice.Jiaming Mi Guangwei Li Conghao Xu Jiangyi Yang Huihui Yu Gongwei Wang Xianghua Li Jinghua Xiao Huazhi Song Qifa Zhang Yidan Ouyang 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,4:6
9Photosynthesis, chilling acclimation and the response of antioxidant enzymes to chilling stress in mulberry seedlings显示文摘This study investigates the effects of cold-acclimation in conferring chilling tolerance in seedlings of the mulberry(Morus alba) variety ‘Qiuyu’. Changes in photosynthesis and antioxidant enzymes in chilling acclimatized(CA), and non-acclimatized(NA) seedlings were recorded during chilling stress(3 °C) and a recovery period(25 °C) each for 3 days. The results showed that CA plants had higher net photosynthetic rates(P_n), stomatal conductance(G_s), and maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem Ⅱ(F_v/F_m) in response to chilling stress compared to NA. The seedlings maintained the same trends during the recovery stage. The responses of Q_A reduction degree (1-q_P) and prime electronic transfer rates(F_o) were lower in acclimatized than in non-acclimatized seedlings. Low-temperature acclimation and chilling stress also caused an increase in leaf proline and soluble sugar contents. Leaf malondialdehyde levels were significantly lower while ascorbate peroxidase(APX) activity was significantly higher in acclimatized seedlings, suggesting that elevated osmolytes and APX confer resistance to chilling temperatures. In this study on the response of mulberry seedlings to chilling stress, we also looked at the recovery process. 12Proline with or without Hydroxyproline Influences Collagen Concentration and Regulates Prolyl 4-Hydroxylase α(I) Gene Expression in Juvenile Turbot(Scophthalmus maximus L.)显示文摘This study was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary proline(Pro), and Pro and hydroxyproline(Hyp) in combination on the growth performance, total Hyp and collagen concentrations of tissues, and prolyl 4-hydroxylase α(I)(P4H α(I)) gene expression in juvenile turbot feeding high plant protein diets. A diet containing 50% crude protein and 12% crude lipid was formulated as the basal and control, on which other two protein and lipid contents identical experimental diets were formulated by supplementing the basal with either 0.75% Pro(Pro-0.75) or 0.75% Pro and 0.75% Hyp(Pro+Hyp). Four groups of fish in indoor seawater recirculating systems, 35 individuals each, were fed twice a day to apparent satiation for 10 weeks. The results showed that dietary Pro and Hyp supplementation had no significant effect on growth performance and feed utilization of juvenile turbot(P > 0.05). Total Hyp and collagen concentrations in muscle were significantly increased when dietary Pro and Hyp increased(P < 0.05), and fish fed diet Pro+Hyp showed significantly higher free Hyp content in plasma than those fed other diets(P < 0.05). The expression of P4 H α(I) gene in liver and muscle was significantly up regulated in fish fed diet Pro-0.75 in comparison with control(P < 0.05); however the gene was significantly down regulated in fish fed diet Pro+Hyp in muscle in comparison with fish fed diet Pro-0.75(P < 0.05). 14Scalable and ultrafast epitaxial growth of single-crystal graphene wafers for electrically tunable liquid-crystal microlens arrays显示文摘The scalable growth of wafer-sized single-crystal graphene in an energy-efficient manner and compatible with wafer process is critical for the killer applications of graphene in high-performance electronics and optoelectronics. Here, ultrafast epitaxial growth of single-crystal graphene wafers is realized on singlecrystal Cu90Ni10(1 1 1) thin films fabricated by a tailored two-step magnetron sputtering and recrystallization process. The minor nickel(Ni) content greatly enhances the catalytic activity of Cu, rendering the growth of a 4 in. single-crystal monolayer graphene wafer in 10 min on Cu90Ni10(1 1 1), 50 folds faster than graphene growth on Cu(1 1 1). Through the carbon isotope labeling experiments, graphene growth on Cu90Ni10(1 1 1) is proved to be exclusively surface-reaction dominated, which is ascribed to the Cu surface enrichment in the Cu Ni alloy, as indicated by element in-depth profile. One of the best benefits of our protocol is the compatibility with wafer process and excellent scalability. A pilot-scale chemical vapor deposition(CVD) system is designed and built for the mass production of single-crystal graphene wafers, with productivity of 25 pieces in one process cycle. Furthermore, we demonstrate the application of single-crystal graphene in electrically controlled liquid-crystal microlens arrays(LCMLA), which exhibit highly tunable focal lengths near 2 mm under small driving voltages. By integration of the graphene based LCMLA and a CMOS sensor, a prototype camera is proposed that is available for simultaneous light-field and light intensity imaging. 15Modulation of HLA Expression in Human Cytomegalovirus Immune Evasion显示文摘Human cytomegalovirus (hCMV) has evolved multiple mechanisms to escape the host immune recognition and innate or adaptive immune responses. Among them, hCMV has developed strategies to modulate the expression and/or function of human leukocyte antigens (HLAs), including by encoding series of infection stage-dependent hCMV proteins to detain and destroy the expression of HLA molecules on the surface of infected cells. This disturbs the antigen presentation and processing, by encoding MHC class I homologues or selective up-regulation of particular HLA class I molecules binding to NK cell inhibitory receptors, and by encoding specific ligand antagonists to interfere with NK cell activating receptors. Here we discussed the molecular mechanisms utilized by the hCMV to alter the formation, transportation and expression of HLA antigens on the infected cell surface. 16Genome of a citrus rootstock and global DNA demethylation caused by heterografting显示文摘Grafting is an ancient technique used for plant propagation and improvement in horticultural crops for at least 1,500 years.Citrus plants,with a seed-to-seed cycle of 5–15 years,are among the fruit crops that were probably domesticated by grafting.Poncirus trifoliata,a widely used citrus rootstock,can promote early flowering,strengthen stress tolerance,and improve fruit quality via scion–rootstock interactions.Here,we report its genome assembly using PacBio sequencing.We obtained a final genome of 303 Mb with a contig N50 size of 1.17Mb and annotated 25,680 protein-coding genes.DNA methylome and transcriptome analyses indicated that the strong adaptability of P.trifoliata is likely attributable to its special epigenetic modification and expression pattern of resistance-related genes.Heterografting by using sweet orange as scion and P.trifoliata as rootstock and autografting using sweet orange as both scion and rootstock were performed to investigate the genetic effects of the rootstock.Single-base methylome analysis indicated that P.trifoliata as a rootstock caused DNA demethylation and a reduction in 24-nt small RNAs(sRNAs)in scions compared to the level observed with autografting,implying the involvement of sRNA-mediated graft-transmissible epigenetic modifications in citrus grafting.Taken together,the assembled genome for the citrus rootstock and the analysis of graft-induced epigenetic modifications provide global insights into the genetic effects of rootstock–scion interactions and grafting biology.Yue Huang Yuantao Xu Xiaolin Jiang Huiwen Yu Huihui Jia Chunming Tan Gang Hu Yibo Hu Muhammad Junaid Rao Xiuxin Deng Qiang Xu 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:4
17Safety of axitinib and sorafenib monotherapy for patients with renal cell carcinoma:a meta-analysis显示文摘We sought to investigate safety of axitinib or sorafenib in renal cell carcinoma(RCC) patients and compare toxicity of these two vascular endothelial growth factor receptor inhibitors. Databases of PubMed and Embase were searched.We included phase II and III prospective trials, as well as retrospective studies, in which patients diagnosed with RCC were treated with axitinib or sorafenib monotherapy at a starting dose of 5 mg and 400 mg twice daily, respectively.The overall incidence of high grade hypertension, fatigue, gastrointestinal toxicity and hand-foot syndrome, along with their 95% confidence intervals(CI), were calculated using fixed-or random-effects model according to heterogeneity test results. A total of 26 trials, including 4790 patients, were included in our meta-analysis. Among them, 6 arms were related to axitinib and 22 were associated with sorafenib. The incidences of hypertension(24.9%vs. 7.9%), fatigue(8.2% vs. 6.6%), and gastrointestinal toxicity(17.6% vs. 11.3%) were higher in patients receiving axitinib versus those receiving sorafenib, while the incidence of hand-foot syndrome was lower in patients receiving axitinib versus those receiving sorafenib(9.5% vs. 13.3%). In conclusion, axitinib showed noticeably higher risks of toxicity versus sorafenib. 20Expression Pattern of Peptide and Amino Acid Genes in Digestive Tract of Transporter Juvenile Turbot(Scophthalmus maximus L.)显示文摘Turbot(Scophthalmus maximus L.),a carnivorous fish species with high dietary protein requirement,was chosen to examine the expression pattern of peptide and amino acid transporter genes along its digestive tract which was divided into six segments including stomach,pyloric caeca,rectum,and three equal parts of the remainder of the intestine.The results showed that the expression of two peptide and eleven amino acid transporters genes exhibited distinct patterns.Peptide transporter 1(Pep T1) was rich in proximal intestine while peptide transporter 2(PepT2) was abundant in distal intestine.A number of neutral and cationic amino acid transporters expressed richly in whole intestine including B^0-type amino acid transporter 1(B^0AT1),L-type amino acid transporter 2(LAT2),T-type amino acid transporter 1(TAT1),proton-coupled amino acid transporter 1(PAT1),y^+L-type amino acid transporter 1(y^+LAT1),and cationic amino acid transporter 2(CAT2) while ASC amino acid transporter 2(ASCT2),sodium-coupled neutral amino acid transporter 2(SNAT2),and y^+L-type amino acid transporter 2(y^+LAT2) abundantly expressed in stomach.In addition,system b^(0,+) transporters(rBAT and b^(0,+)AT) existed richly in distal intestine.These findings comprehensively characterized the distribution of solute carrier family proteins,which revealed the relative importance of peptide and amino acid absorption through luminal membrane.Our findings are helpful to understand the mechanism of the utilization of dietary protein in fish with a short digestive tract.XU Dandan HE Gen MAI Kangsen ZHOU Huihui XU Wei SONG Fei 2016Journal of Ocean University of China2016,15,2:3
