| 2 | Effect of the number of freeze-thaw cycles number on the quality of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei): An emphasis on moisture migration and microstructure by LF-NMR and SEM显示文摘The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the number of freeze-thaw(F-T)cycles on moisture migration,protein degradation,microstructure and quality in Litopenaeus vannamei.The quality of samples with different F-T cycles were determined by low-field nuclear magnetic resonance(LF-NMR),magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM),combined with sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE),texture properties analysis(TPA),color difference,polyphenol oxidase(PPO)activity,total volatile basic nitrogen(TVB-N),total viable count(TVC),and sensory evaluation.The results showed that F-T cycles caused a significantly increase in transverse relaxation time in T22 and T23 and a decreased brightness of pseudo-color diagram after 4 F-T cycles,indicating that water mobility increased as immobilized water was shifted to free water.The texture of samples declined as well,especially after 4 F-T cycles.The rapid growth of PPO activity caused a decrease in brightness(L*)and an increase in redness(a∗)after 3 F-T cycles.The increase of TVB-N,TVC,and sensory score explained the changes in shrimp quality which became obvious after 3 F-T cycles and unacceptable after 6 cycles.Meanwhile,fewer than 4 F-T cycles accelerated protein aggregation,while denaturation occurred after 4 cycles.Therefore,repeated F-T cycles could accelerate the changes of protein,microstructure,water distribution,and quality deterioration especially after 3 F-T cycles,with a threshold was 6 F-T cycles. | Weiqing Lan Xiaoyu Hu Xiaohong Sun Xi Zhang Jing Xie | 2020 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2020,5,4: | 15 |

| 4 | Oxidation kinetics regularity in spontaneous combustion of gas coal显示文摘In order to investigate the oxidation kinetics of gas coal at low temperatures, we derived a rate equation of oxygen con-sumption during low-temperature oxidation of gas coal and deduced an E-c equation, expressing the relation between active energy E and oxygen concentration c. The reaction order n and active energy E were calculated with this equation based on experiments of static oxygen consumption tests. In addition, we proved the rationality of the E-c equation using a kinetic compensation effect and obtained the isokinetic temperature Tc. | 5 | A novel peptide, selected from phage display library of random peptides, can efficiently target into human breast cancer cell显示文摘To develop a targeting vector for breast cancer biotherapy, MDA-MB-231 cell, a human breast cancer cell line, was co-cultured with pC89 (9 aa) phage display library of random peptides. In multiple inde- pendent peptide-presenting phage screening trials, subtilisin was used as a protease to inactivate ex- tra-cellular phages. The internalized phages were collected by cell lysising and amplified in E. coli XLI-Blue. Through five rounds of selection, the peptide-presenting phages which could be internalized in MDA-MB-231 cells were isolated. A comparison was made between internalization capacities of pep- tide-presenting phages isolated from MDA-MB-231 cells and RGD-integrin binding phage by cocultur- ing them with other human tumor cell lines and normal cells. The nucleotide sequences of isolated peptide-presenting phages were then determined by DNA sequencing. To uncover whether phage coat protein or amino acid order was required for the character of the peptide to MDA-MB-231 cells, three peptides were synthesized. They are CASPSGALRSC, ASPSGALRS and CGVIFDHSVPC (the shifted sequence of CASPSGALRSC), and after coculturing them with different cell lines, their targeting ca- pacities to MDA-MB-231 cells were detected. These data suggested that the internalization process was highly selective, and capable of capturing a specific peptide from parent peptide variants. Moreover, the targeting internalization event of peptides was an amino acid sequence dependent manner. | 6 | Antibacterial mechanism of Ginkgo biloba leaf extract when applied to Shewanella putrefaciens and Saprophytic staphylococcus显示文摘The antimicrobial mechanism of Ginkgo biloba leaf extracts(GBLE)when applied to predominant spoilage bacteria(Shewanella putrefaciens and Saprophytic staphylococcus)on refrigerated pomfret and minimal inhibitory concentrations(MICs)were measured by the plate counting method.GBLE at MIC and 2MIC were prepared in tryptic soy broth(TSB)medium and equivalent amounts of sterile distilled water were used in place of GBLE as a control group.The impact of GBLE on the growth of bacteria,the permeability of cell membrane,and cell wall were also investigated by growth curve of bacteria,alkaline phosphates activity(AKP),and electrical conductivity.A scanning electron microscope(SEM)was used to study the effects of GBLE on the cellular structure of S.putrefaciens and S.staphylococcus.The results showed that the MICs of GBLE when applied to S.putrefaciens and S.staphylococcus were 100 mg/mL,the inhibitory rates of MIC and 2MIC concentrations of GBLE when applied to S.putrefaciens were 36.11%and 100%,while 27.78%and 62.22%for S.staphylococcus.Meanwhile,GBLE inhibited the growth of S.putrefaciens and S.staphylococcus until the number of cells at 2MIC values decreased to 0 and 4.29 log CFU/mL,respectively,after 24 h.The electrical conductivity of bacteria increased with GBLE treatment,which was followed by an increased leakage of AKP.The SEM revealed that the structure of bacterial cells was destroyed and the bacteria began to be adhere to each other.The inhibition effect of GBLE when applied to S.putrefaciens and S.staphylococcus was related to the damage of cell membrane and cell wall.It was also revealed that GBLE damages the morphology of bacteria and had stronger effects on the cell membrane of S.putrefaciens than that of S.staphylococcus. | Nannan Zhang Weiqing Lan Qian Wang Xiaohong Sun Jing Xie | 2018 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2018,3,4: | 11 |
| 7 | A review on application of composite truss bridges composed of hollow structural section members显示文摘Composite truss with hollow structural section(HSS) members is deemed as the structure applicable to large-span and heavily-loaded bridges. To promote the application of composite truss bridge with HSS members in China, this paper described its structural characteristics and technology in details. Besides, not only were 32 typical design cases of composite truss bridges with HSS members collected, but also the corresponding historical development was summed up. Comparisons on structural components, characteristics and engineering applications were made among composite truss bridges with HSS members in different structural forms. Then, the analysis on the characteristics of composite truss bridges with concrete-filled steel tubular(CFST) chords was conducted, and the challenges on the aspects of complicated joints and interfacial debonding were pointed out. To address these problems, the concrete-filled rectangular hollow section(CFRHS)stiffened with PBLs(Perfobond Ribs) was proposed to improve the reliability of confinement effect in CFST member and force transfer in joints. The advantages on the mechanical properties of CFRHS structure stiffened using PBLs were systematically expounded with respect to the behaviors of steel plate, interface, member and joint. | 8 | Principle and Experimental Verification of Caudal-fin-type Piezoelectric-stack Pump with Variable-cross-section Oscillating Vibrator显示文摘In the traditional flow-resistance-differential (FRD) type valve-less piezoelectric pump,the generated outflow and pressure are discontinuous because of the inherent periodicity and fluctuation of the pump.To overcome these drawbacks,utilizing the bending vibration of piezoelectric bimorph to drive fluid was conducted.However,our investigation on the current status of this piezoelectric bimorph pump shows that larger driving force and vibration amplitude are required for fluid pumping;the pumping can be realized through the centrifugal force;and the mechanism of fluid pumping is no longer further studied.Based on these cases,the paper designed a piezoelectric-stack pump with variable-cross-section oscillating (VCSO) vibrator by imitating the swing of the caudal-fin of tuna,and the pump is neither the rotating type nor the volumetric type according to the taxonomy.The interaction between the oscillating vibrator and the fluid parcel is firstly analyzed from the viewpoint of momentum conservation,and the analytical expression of pump flow rate is obtained.Then the modal and harmonic response analyses on the vibrator immerged in water are carried out.From the analyses the first two orders resonance frequencies are 832 Hz and 1 939 Hz,respectively,and the peak value of the tip amplitude is 0.6 mm.Laser Doppler vibrometer is used to measure both the frequency and vibration amplitude,and the determined first two orders resonance frequencies are 617 Hz and 1 356 Hz,respectively.The measured tip amplitude reaches to the peak value of 0.3 mm.At last,experimental measurement for the flow rates with different driving frequencies is conducted.The results show that the flow rate can reach 560 mL/min at 1 370 Hz when the pump runs under the backpressure of 30 mm water column.And the flow rate is as much as 560% of that of experiment results carried out by researchers from Brazil.The proposed pump innovates in both theory and taxonomy;in addition,the pump overcomes the drawbacks such as large flow fluctuation and low flow rate in the traditional FRD type pumps,which will help to broaden the application of the valve-less piezoelectric pump. | HU Xiaoqi ZHANG Jianhui HUANG Yi XIA Qixiao HUANG Weiqing ZHAO Chunsheng | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,1: | 11 |
| 9 | Reuse of Fenton sludge as an iron source for NiFe_2O_4 synthesis and its application in the Fenton-based process显示文摘The potentially hazardous iron-containing sludge from the Fenton process requires proper treatment and disposal, which often results in high treatment cost. In this study, a novel method for the reuse of Fenton sludge as an iron source for the synthesis of nickel ferrite particles(NiFe_2O_4) is proposed. Through a co-precipitation method followed by sintering at 800°C, magnetic NiFe_2O_4 particles were successfully synthesized, which was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electronic microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopy. The synthesized NiFe_2O_4 could be used as an efficient catalyst in the heterogeneous Fenton process. In phenol degradation with H_2O_2 or NiFe_2O_4 alone, the phenol removal efficiencies within the reaction time of 330 min were as low as 5.9% ± 0.1% and 13.5% ±0.4%, respectively. However, in the presence of both NiFe_2O_4 and H_2O_2, phenol removal efficiency as high as 95% ± 3.4% could be achieved, indicating the excellent catalytic performance of NiFe_2O_4 in the heterogeneous Fenton process. Notably, a rapid electron exchange between_Ni II and_Fe III ions in the NiFe_2O_4 structure could be beneficial for the Fenton reaction. | 10 | Removal of phosphate from wastewater using alkaline residue显示文摘Alkaline residue(AR) was found to be an efficient adsorbent for phosphate removal from wastewater. The kinetic and equilibrium of phosphate removal were investigated to evaluate the performance of modified alkaline residue. After treatment by NaOH(AR-NaOH), removal performance was significantly improved, while removal performance was almost completely lost after treatment by HCl(AR-HCl). The kinetics of the removal process by all adsorbents was well characterized by the pseudo second-order model. The Langmuir model exhibited the best correlation for AR-HCl, while AR was effectively described by Freundlich model. Both models were well fitted to AR-NaOH. The maximum adsorption capacities calculated from Langmuir equation were in following manner: AR-NaOH > AR > AR-HCl. Phosphate removal by alkaline residue was pH dependent process. Mechanisms for phosphate removal mainly involved adsorption and precipitation, varied with equilibrium pH of solution. For AR-HCl, the acid equilibrium pH(< 6.0) was unfavorable for the formation of Ca-P precipitate, with adsorption as the key mechanism for phosphate removal. In contrast, for AR and ARNaOH, precipitation was the dominant mechanism for phosphate removal, due to the incrase on pH(> 8.0) after phosphate removal. | 13 | Destruction mechanism of gas explosion to ventilation facilities and automatic recovery technology显示文摘In order to overcome the heavy casualties caused by gas explosion, we verified the propagation law of shock wave in pipeline and the overpressure distribution of gas explosion by similar experiments according to the analyses of reasons for casualty and ventilation system model destroyed by gas explosion in the mining face. We summarized the gas composition after the explosion and its danger, analyzed the effects of the gas explosion shock wave to ventilation system and facilities and the laws of toxic gas spread and diffusion in the ventilation network after the explosion. We presented a technical proposal to control the smoke and recover the ventilation system after a gas explosion and developed a reserve air door and control system that were embed in the lane, and could close automatically in conditions of no pressure and electricity. | 16 | Simultaneous pyridine biodegradation and nitrogen removal in an aerobic granular system显示文摘Simultaneous pyridine biodegradation and nitrogen removal were successfully achieved in a sequencing batch reactor(SBR) based on aerobic granules. In a typical SBR cycle, nitritation occurred obviously after the majority of pyridine was removed, while denitrification occurred at early stage of the cycle when oxygen consumption was aggravated. The effect of several key operation parameters, i.e., air flow rate, influent NH_4^+-N concentration,influent p H and pyridine concentration, on nitritation, pyridine degradation and total nitrogen(TN) removal, was systematically investigated. The results indicated that high air flow rate had a positive effect on both pyridine degradation and nitritation but a negative impact of overhigh air flow rate. With the increase of NH_4^+ dosage, both nitritation and TN removal could be severely inhibited. Slightly alkaline condition, i.e., pH 7.0–8.0, was beneficial for both pyridine degradation and nitritation. High pyridine dosage often resulted in the delay of both pyridine degradation and nitritation. Besides, extracellular polymeric substances production was affected by air flow rate, NH_4^+ dosage, pyridine dosage and p H.In addition, high-throughput sequencing analysis demonstrated that Bdellovibrio and Paracoccus were the dominant species in the aerobic granulation system. | 18 | Signal processing in underwater acoustic communication system for manned deep submersible 'Jiaolong'显示文摘For the first time in the world,underwater acoustic transmission of images,human voice,data and texts between vehicle under 7000 m depth and surface ship was accomplished by underwater acoustic communication system of manned deep submersible 'Jiaolong'.In this paper,signal processing in underwater acoustic communication system for manned deep submersible 'Jiaolong' is introduced.(1) Four communication methods are integrated to meet different needs:1) coherent underwater acoustic communication,with a variable transmission rate from 5 kbps to 15 kbps,to transmit images.2) Non-coherent underwater acoustic communication, with a transmission rate 300 bps,to transmit texts,instructions,and sensor data. 3) Spread spectrum underwater acoustic communication,with a transmission rate 16 bps,to transmit instructions.4) Underwater voice communication,using single sideband modulation to transmit human voice.(2) Signal processing method in coherent communication mainly consists of concatenation of decision feedback equalizer and Turbo decoder,and wavelet based image compression with fixed length coding.In the equalizer,Doppler compensation,multichannel combining and equalizer coefficients updating are all using fast self-optimized adaptive algorithm.(3) A linear hydrophone array is lowered from the mother ship to certain depth, and spatial diversity combining technology is adopted.(4) Diving trials of 'Jiaolong' were carried out in Pacific Ocean.The communication range can cover nearly all ocean depth.One optical/acoustic image can be transmitted in 7 or 14 seconds. | ZHU Weiqing ZHU Min WU Yanbo YANG Bo XU Lijun FU Xiang PAN Feng | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Acoustics2013,32,1: | 7 |

| 20 | Energy conversion characteristics of reciprocating piston quasi- isothermal compression systems using water sprays显示文摘Air compressors are vital and have numerous industrial applications. Approximately 8% of the annual operating electricity consumption in industrial countries is constituted by due to the use of air compressors. Because the poor heat transfer to the environment in the rapid compression process, the compression is non-isothermal, the efficiency of compressors is restricted. To improve their efficiency and achieve isothermal compression, this study proposes energy conversion reciprocating piston quasiisothermal compression using a water spray. First, a mathematical model of a reciprocating piston compressor with water sprays was established. Through experimental investigation and simulations, the mathematical model was validated. The energy conversion characteristics of the reciprocating piston compressor were then studied. To reduce compression power and enhance compression efficiency, it was first discovered that the critical parameters were the input pressure of the driving chamber, water spray mass, and compression volume ratio, which were then evaluated thoroughly. The higher the inlet pressure of the driving chamber, the faster the air compression velocity. Additionally, the compression efficiency was elevated as the water spray mass was gradually increased for a given compression volume ratio. When the compression volume ratio was increased from 2 to 3,the compression power increased from 172.7 J/stroke to 294.2 J/stroke and the compression efficiency was enhanced from 37.3%(adiabatic) to 80.6%.
