| 2 | Quantitative Effect of Soil Texture Composition on Retardation Factor of K^+ Transport显示文摘With six packed columns composed of < 1 μm and 5 μm~0.25 mm fractions from an Eum-Orthic An- throsol (Columns 1~6) and one column of the Eum-Orthic Anthrosol (Column 7), K~(+) transport experiments under the condition of saturated steady water flow were conducted to qualify the effects of soil texture com- position on the retardation factor (R) of K~(+) transport. The results showed that the retardation factor of K~ (+) transport in the tested soil columns greatly increased with increasing clay contents. | 3 | Microsurgical resection of tumors lateroventral and ventral to the high cervical spinal cord显示文摘Background Since there are a complex anatomic structure and vital function in the high cervical spinal cord, it is difficult to remove the tumors lateroventral and ventral to the high cervical spinal cord. This clinical study was undertaken to analyze surgical approaches, manner of tumor resection and postoperative management. Methods Thirty-four patients underwent microsurgical excision of tumors lateroventral and ventral to the high cervical spinal cord by means of three approaches. The tumors comprised mostly Schwannoma and meningioma (88.24%, 30/34) in this group. Tumor volume varied from 3.0 cm×2.5 cm×2.0 cm to 12 cm×3.0 cm×2.5 cm. Of the 34 patients, 4 had dumbbell-shaped tumors growing outside the spinal canal and 7 tumors growing into the intracranium. Results The tumor was totally removed in 32 patients (94.1%). Follow-up for 7 months to 6.4 years (median 3.6 years) showed a recovery of a normal life or work ability in 30 (83.3%) patients. | 5 | Uric acid lowering effect of Tibetan Medicine RuPeng15 powder in animal models of hyperuricemia显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the influence of the Tibetan medicine Ru Peng15 powder(RPP15) on uric acid levels, and explore its possible mechanisms of action in hyperuricemic animal models.METHODS: Hyperuricemic mice were generated by orally administering yeast extract paste twice daily(30 g/kg) for 8 days, to mimic human hyperuricemia induced by high-protein diets. Hyperuricemic rats were generated by intraperitoneal injection of 250 mg/kg potassium oxonate to each animal 1 h before the last oral administration of test compounds, which raised the serum uric acid level by inhibiting the decomposition of uric acid. Levels of uric acid and creatinine in serum and urine were detected by the phosphotungstic acid and picric acid methods respectively, and the activity of xanthine oxidase(XOD) was assayed using a commercial test kit.RESULTS: RPP15(0.4, 0.8, 1.2 g/kg) significantly decreased the level of serum uric acid in healthy rats(P < 0.05). Furthermore, hyperuricemic rats treated with RPP15(0.4, 0.8, 1.2 g/kg) had lower serum uric acid levels(P < 0.05), accompanied by lower urine uric acid(P < 0.05). | 6 | NH_4^+ Adsorption in a Eum-Orthic Anthrosol at Different Solution/Soil Ratios and Temperatures显示文摘Effects of NH+ concentration, solution/soil ratio and temperature on NH+ adsorption were studied in a Eum-OrthicAnthrosol. The slopes of the soil NH+ adsorption isotherms and the fitted n, the coefficient for the adsorption intensity,and k, the coefficient related to adsorption capacity, of the Freundlich equation increased with increasing solution/soilratio (SSR) and with decreasing temperature (T). For the range of experimental conditions, the value of δq/δc, the rateof change of the amount of NH+ adsorbed in the soil solid phase (q) with respect to the equilibrium concentration of NH+in soil solution (c), was 0.840, indicating that q increased with increasing c. From 2 to 45℃, δq/δSSR, the rate of changeof q with respect to SSR, decreased from 2.598 to 1.996, showing that q increased with increasing SSR, while its increasingrate decreased with temperature. From SSR 1:1 to 20:1, δq/δT, the rate of change of q with respect to T, decreasedfrom -0.095 to -0.361, indicating that q decreased with increasing temperature, and at the same time the negative effectof temperature became larger as SSR increased. | 7 | Comparison of Pb and Cd adsorption to the surface coatings and surficial sediments collected in Xianghai Wetland显示文摘Surface coatings and surficial sediments were obtained in four natural waters in Xianghai Wetland in China to study the role of surface coatings and surficial sediments in controlling the transporting and cycling of heavy metals in aquatic environments. Pb and Cd adsorption to the surface coatings and surficial sediments were measured under controlled laboratory conditions(mineral salts solution with defined speciation, ionic strength 0 05 mol/L, 25℃ and pH 6 0 for surface coatings; and 0 005 mol/L CaCl 2 solution, 25℃ and pH 6 0 for surficial sediments). The Langmuir adsorption isotherm was applied to estimate equilibrium coefficients of Pb and Cd adsorption to the surface coatings and surficial sediments, and the component analyses of surface coatings and surficial sediments were also carried out. Correlation analyses between the maximum adsorption of Pb and Cd(Г max ) and the components in the surface coatings and surficial sediments suggested that there was a statistically significant trend for Pb and Cd adsorption(Г max ) to the surface coatings to increase with increasing in contents of Fe and Mn oxides in the surface coatings and surficial sediments. And the metal adsorption abilities of surface coatings were much stronger than those of surficial sediments, highlighting that in the same water, i.e. at the same pH and initial metal concentrations, the metals(such as lead and cadmium) in supernatant were feasible to be adsorbed by surface coatings than surficial sediments. | 8 | Modeling of microstructural evolution during dynamic recrystallization in coarse Nb microalloyed austenite显示文摘The aim of the current study was to investigate the microstructural evolution during dynamic recrystallization in coarse Nb microalloyed austenite in thin slab direct rolling (TSDR) processing. A model was developed to predict the change of the austenite grain size during the dynamic recrystallization, by using the law of mixtures. The equations initially developed for partial static recrystallization were used for partial dynamic recrystallization, by adjusting the value of the constant. | 9 | Theory and Practice of Oxide Inclusion Composition and Morphology Control in Spring Steel Production显示文摘In order to control the composition, morphology and size distribution of oxide inclusions in spring steel, the relationship between the content or activity of aluminum and calcium in molten steel and compositions of oxide inclusion precipitated at different temperatures was determined based on thermodynamic equilibrium for spring steel 60Si2MnA, and has been verified by practice. The size distribution of non-metallic inclusions electrolytically extracted from specimens of hot rolled spring steel was determined by image analyzer. The results show that there are a great deal of large inclusions in spring steel produced by the conventional process, and the quantity and the size of large inclusions in spring steel produced by new process are largely reduced. | 11 | Effect of Nb on the transformation kinetics of low carbon(manganese) steel during deformation of undercooled austenite显示文摘The hot compression tests using Gleeble 1500 were performed by varying the true strain up to 1.6 (80% reduction) in Nb-free and Nb-microalloyed steels. The effect of Nb addition on the transformation kinetics during deformation of undercooled austenite was investigated. It was found that as compared with Nb-free steel,the transformation incubation period of Nb-bearing steel was pro-longed and the transformation kinetics curves parallelly moved to higher strain because of the solute Nb drag effect. Studies on kinetics also showed that the deformation-enhanced ferrite transformation (DEFT) of the two steels were composed of three stages,which can be expressed by the J-M-A equations individually. | 14 | Chlorine doped graphitic carbon nitride nanorings as an efficient photoresponsive catalyst for water oxidation and organic decomposition显示文摘Rationally engineering the microstructure and electronic structure of catalysts to induce high activity for versatile applications remains a challenge. Herein, chlorine doped graphitic carbon nitride(Cl-doped g-C3N4) nanorings have been designed as a superior photocatalyst for pollutant degradation and oxygen evolution reaction(OER). Remarkably, Cl-doped g-C3N4 nanorings display enhanced OER performance with a small overpotential of approximately 290 m V at current density of 10 m A cm^-2 and Tafel slope of 83 m V dec-1, possessing comparable OER activity to precious metal oxides RuO2 and IrO2/C. The excellent catalytic performance of Cl-doped g-C3N4 nanorings originates from the strong oxidation capability,abundant active sites exposed and efficient charge transfer. More importantly, visible light irradiation gives rise to a prominent improvement of the OER performance, reducing the OER overpotential and Tafel slope by 140 m V and 28 m V dec^-1, respectively, demonstrating the striking photo-responsive OER activity of Cl-doped g-C3N4 nanorings. The great photo-induced improvement in OER activity would be related to the efficient charge transfer and the·OH radicals arising spontaneously on CN-Cl100 catalyst upon light irradiation. The Pickering’s equation for the contribution of precipitates to the yield stress was also discussed. It is shown that there are numerous fine and dispersive precipitates TiC in the ferrite grains, on the grain boundaries and dislocations. Also there are a small amount of coarser Ti(C, N) particles and TiC particles associated with MnS. | 16 | Characteristics of microstructural evolution during deformation-enhanced ferrite transformation in Nb-microalloyed HSLA steel显示文摘Microstructure evolution during deformation of undercooled austenite at 760°C was investigated in Nb-microalloyed steel by using SEM (scanning electron microscope), TEM (transmission electron microscope), and EBSD (electron backscattered diffrac- tion). It is indicated that during deformation-enhanced ferrite transformation (DEFT) in Nb-microalloyed steel, the incubation period is prolonged, and the higher strain is needed to accomplish ferrite transformation. Therefore, the transformation kinetics curves move to high strain parallelly; and the transformation kinetics curves of Nb-microalloyed steel can be divided into three stages. At the first stage, the solute drag effect of Nb and the consumption of strain energy for the dynamic precipitation of Nb(CN) led to a long incubation period, and at the second stage, ferrite transformation was accelerated significantly and fine Nb(CN) precipitates restrict the grain growth of ferrite effectively.
