1Impact of Radiation and Slip on Newtonian Liquid Flow Past a Porous Stretching/Shrinking Sheet in the Presence of Carbon Nanotubes显示文摘The impacts of radiation, mass transpiration, and volume fraction of carbon nanotubes on the flow of a Newtonian fluid past a porous stretching/shrinking sheet are investigated. For this purpose, three types of base liquids are considered, namely, water, ethylene glycol and engine oil. Moreover, single and multi-wall carbon nanotubes are examined in the analysis. The overall physical problem is modeled using a system of highly nonlinear partial differential equations, which are then converted into highly nonlinear third order ordinary differential equations via a suitable similarity transformation. These equations are solved analytically along with the corresponding boundary conditions. It is found that the carbon nanotubes can significantly improve the heat transfer process.Their potential application in cutting-edge areas is also discussed to a certain extent.U.S.Mahabaleshwar T.Anusha M.EL Ganaoui R.Bennacer 2023Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,4:0
2Analysis of a Stagnation Point Flow with Hybrid Nanoparticles over a Porous Medium显示文摘The unsteady stagnation-point flow of a hybrid nanofluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet embedded in a porous medium with mass transpiration and chemical reactions is considered. The momentum and mass transfer problems are combined to form a system of partial differential equations, which is converted into a set of ordinary differential equations via similarity transformation. These ordinary differential equations are solved analytically to obtain the solution for velocity and concentration profiles in exponential and hypergeometric forms, respectively. The concentration profile is obtained for four different cases namely constant wall concentration, uniform mass flux, general power law wall con-centration and general power law mass flux. The effect of different physical parameters such as Darcy number Da^(1-1),mass transpiration parameter V_(C),stretching/shrinking parameter (d),chemical reaction parameter(β)and Schmidt number (Sc)on velocity and concentration profile is examined. Results show that, the axial velocity will decreases as the shrinking sheet parameter increases, regardless of whether the suction or injection case is examined. The concentration decreases with an increase in the shrinking sheet parameter and the chemical reaction rate parameter.U.S.Mahabaleshwar T.Anusha M.Hatami 2023Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,2:0
3Exact solutions for magnetohydrodynamic nanofluids flow and heat transfer over a permeable axisymmetric radially stretching/shrinking sheet显示文摘We report on the magnetohydrodynamic impact on the axisymmetric flow of Al_(2)O_(3)/Cu nanoparticles suspended in H_(2)O past a stretched/shrinked sheet. With the use of partial differential equations and the corresponding thermophysical characteristics of nanoparticles, the physical flow process is illustrated. The resultant nonlinear system of partial differential equations is converted into a system of ordinary differential equations using the suitable similarity transformations. The transformed differential equations are solved analytically.Impacts of the magnetic parameter, solid volume fraction and stretching/shrinking parameter on momentum and temperature distribution have been analyzed and interpreted graphically. The skin friction and Nusselt number were also evaluated. In addition, existence of dual solution was deduced for the shrinking sheet and unique solution for the stretching one.Further,Al_(2)O_(3)/H_(2)O nanofluid flow has better thermal conductivity on comparing with Cu/H_(2)O nanofluid.Furthermore,it was found that the first solutions of the stream are stable and physically realizable, whereas those of the second ones are unstable.U.S.Mahabaleshwar G.P.Vanitha L.M.Pérez Emad H.Aly I.Pop 2024Chinese Physics B2024,33,2:0
4Navier Slip and Heat Transfer in a Nanofluid Due to a Stretching/Shrinking Sheet:An Analytical Study显示文摘This paper is devoted to the analysis of the heat transfer and Navier’s slip effects in a non-Newtonian Jeffrey fluid flowing past a stretching/shrinking sheet. The nanoparticles, namely,Cu and Al_(2)O_(3)are used with a water-based fluid with Prandtl number 6.272.Velocity slip flow is assumed to occur when the characteristic size of the flow system is small or the flow pressure is very small.By using the similarity transformations, the governing nonlinear PDEs are turned into ordinary differential equations(ODE’s).Analytical results are presented and analyzed for various values of physical parameters:Prandtl number,Radiation parameter,stretching/shrinking parameter and mass transpiration for the flow and heat transfer. The considered problem is relevant to various physical applications in the field of engineering,e.g.,the production of certain materials, the preparation of plastic and rubber sheets and glass blowing. It is shown that the considered nanofluid increases the thermal efficiency. The nanoparticles act as a heater by increasing the solid volume fraction and thermal radiation.Vice versa, they can act as a cooler if the strength of magnetic field is increased. The flow strength decreases by increasing the values of Deborah number.A.B.Vishalakshi U.S.Mahabaleshwar M.EL.Ganaoui R.Bennacer 2022Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2022,18,5:0
