| 1 | Incidence and prevalence of moyamoya disease in urban China: a nationwide retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background and objective Moyamoya disease(MMD)is an increasingly recognised cause of stroke,mainly described in East Asia.China is the largest nation in Asia,but few studies reported the epidemiology of MMD,especially at a national level.We aimed to estimate the incidence and prevalence of MMD in China.Methods We performed a population-based study using data from the national databases of Urban Basic Medical Insurance between 2013 and 2016,covering approximately 0.50 billion individuals.MMD cases were identified by diagnostic code(International Classification of Diseases,10th Revision I67.5)or related diagnostic text.Results A total of 1987 MMD patients(mean age 44.45±14.30 years,female-to male ratio 1.12)were identified,representing a national crude incidence of 0.59(95%CI:0.49 to 0.68)and a prevalence of 1.01(95%CI:0.81 to 1.21)per 100000 person-years in 2016.Rates were higher in females than in males for the incidence(0.66 vs 0.52)and prevalence(1.05 vs 0.90).And the age-specific rates showed a bimodal distribution,with the highest peak in middle-aged group and the second peak in child group.Conclusions Our results confirm that MMD is relatively common in East Asians,but the rates in China were lower than those in other East Asian countries such as Japan and Korea.The unique epidemiological features,including a relatively weak female predominance and a shift in the highest peak of incidence from children to adults,revealed new sight into MMD.Further research is expected to explore the potential pathogenesis of MMD. | Yixin Sun Guoyu Zhou Jingnan Feng Lu Chen Guozhen Liu Jinxi Wang Qingliang Wang Junyou Yu Xiwang Yang Zheng Yang Pei Gao Shengfeng Wang Siyan Zhan | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4: | 4 |
| 2 | Accurate machine learning models based on small dataset of energetic materials through spatial matrix featurization methods显示文摘A large database is desired for machine learning(ML) technology to make accurate predictions of materials physicochemical properties based on their molecular structure.When a large database is not available,the development of proper featurization method based on physicochemical nature of target proprieties can improve the predictive power of ML models with a smaller database.In this work,we show that two new featurization methods,volume occupation spatial matrix and heat contribution spatial matrix,can improve the accuracy in predicting energetic materials' crystal density(ρ_(crystal)) and solid phase enthalpy of formation(H_(f,solid)) using a database containing 451 energetic molecules.Their mean absolute errors are reduced from 0.048 g/cm~3 and 24.67 kcal/mol to 0.035 g/cm~3 and 9.66 kcal/mol,respectively.By leave-one-out-cross-validation,the newly developed ML models can be used to determine the performance of most kinds of energetic materials except cubanes.Our ML models are applied to predict ρ_(crystal) and H_(f,solid) of CHON-based molecules of the 150 million sized PubChem database,and screened out 56 candidates with competitive detonation performance and reasonable chemical structures.With further improvement in future,spatial matrices have the potential of becoming multifunctional ML simulation tools that could provide even better predictions in wider fields of materials science. | Chao Chen Danyang Liu Siyan Deng Lixiang Zhong Serene Hay Yee Chan Shuzhou Li Huey Hoon Hng | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,12: | 4 |
| 3 | A preliminary study of polymer inclusion membrane for lutetium(Ⅲ)separation and membrane regeneration显示文摘This paper reports on the selective transport of Lu(Ⅲ)from La(III)and Sm(III)through a polymer inclusion membrane(PIM)composed of 40 wt%di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphinic acid(P227)and 60 wt%poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF).Basically,the changes in surface morphology,thickness and water contact angle of this PVDF-based PIM containing P227(P227@PVDF PIM)with different polymer concentrations were investigated.By solvent extraction experiments,it is found that Lu(Ⅲ)can be selectively extracted from La(Ⅲ)and Sm(Ⅲ)at pH 1.5 in hydrochloric acid solution.According to this result,P227@PVDF PIM was used to selectively transport Lu(Ⅲ)from hydrochloric acid feed solution containing similar concentration of La(Ⅲ)and Sm(Ⅲ).The recovery factor of Lu(III)is 91% after 36 h,and about 5%of Sm(Ⅲ)was also transported through the PIM.The concentration of La(III)in the feed solution and the stripping solution does not change.Furthermore,to overcome the ubiquitous decline of transport efficiency caused by the loss of carrier or the damage of membrane structure after long-term use of PIMs,a process for regenerating PIMs was first proposed and implemented.By comparison of the regenerated PIM with the normal PIM,there is almost no difference in the SEM image,ATR-FTIR spectrum and Lu(III)transport efficiency.It is expected that P227@PVDF PIMs have the potential to be applied to the grouped separation of rare earth elements(REEs),and this study also can be as an inspiration for the further study on the PIMs regeneration process. | Siyan Huang Ji Chen Dan Zou | 2021 | Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,10: | 2 |

| 10 | Polymodal Functionality of C. elegans OLL Neurons in Mechanosensation and Thermosensation显示文摘Sensory modalities are important for survival but the molecular mechanisms remain challenging due to the polymodal functionality of sensory neurons. Here, we report the C. elegans outer labial lateral(OLL) sensilla sensory neurons respond to touch and cold. Mechanosensation of OLL neurons resulted in cell-autonomous mechanically-evoked Ca~(2+) transients and rapidly-adapting mechanoreceptor currents with a very short latency.Mechanotransduction of OLL neurons might be carried by a novel Na~+ conductance channel, which is insensitive to amiloride. The bona fide mechano-gated Na~+ -selective degenerin/epithelial Na~+ channels, TRP-4, TMC, and Piezo proteins are not involved in this mechanosensation.Interestingly, OLL neurons also mediated cold but not warm responses in a cell-autonomous manner. We further showed that the cold response of OLL neurons is not mediated by the cold receptor TRPA-1 or the temperaturesensitive glutamate receptor GLR-3. | 12 | Hybrid model enabling highly efficient follicular segmentation in thyroid cytopathological whole slide image显示文摘Background The prevalence of thyroid cancer is growing rapidly.Early and precise diagnosis is critical in thy-roid cancer caring.An automatic thyroid cancer diagnostic tool can be valuable to achieve early detection and diagnostic consistency.Only the follicular areas in the sample contain useful information to the thyroid cancer diagnosis based on fine needle aspiration(FNA).This study aimed to develop a highly efficient accurate method for follicular cell areas segmentation(FCAS)of thyroid cytopathological whole slide images(WSIs).Methods A total of 96 cell samples from July 2017 to July 2018 were collected in one hospital in Beijing,China.Forty-three WSIs were selected and manually labeled,including 17 cases of papillary thyroid carci-noma sample and 26 cases of benign sample.Six thousand and nine hundred cropped typical image patches(available on http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460asnvu0f0c0ou6960q6.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/bupt-ai-cz/Hybrid-Model-Enabling-Highly-Efficient-Follicular-Segmentation)of 1024×1024 pixels from 13 large WSIs were used for patch-level model training and testing and all of the 13 large WSIs were papillary thyroid carcinoma samples.Thirty testing WSIs with an average size 36,217×29,400(from 10,240×10,240 to 81,920×61,440)were used to test the effectiveness of the hybrid model.Based on the traditional semantic segmentation model deeplabv3,we constructed a hybrid segmentation architecture by adding a classification branch into the segmentation scheme to improve efficiency.Accuracy was used to measure the performance of the classification model;pixel accuracy(pAcc),mean accuracy(mAcc),mean intersection over union(mIoU),and frequency weighted intersection over union(fwIoU)were used to measure the performance of the segmentation model,respectively.Results Using this method,up to 93%WSI segmentation time was reduced by skipping the colloidal areas and the blank background areas.The average processing time of 30 WSI was 49.49 s.On the patch dataset,this hybrid model might reach pAcc=98.65%,mAcc=85.60%,mIoU=79.61%,and fwIoU=97.54%.On the WSI dataset,this model might reach pAcc=99.30%,mAcc=68.94%,mIoU=58.21%,and fwIoU=99.50%.Conclusion The proposed hybrid method might significantly improve previous solutions and achieve the superior performance of efficiency and accuracy. | Chuang Zhu Siyan Tao Huang Chen Minzhen Li Ying Wang Jun Liu Mulan Jin | 2021 | Intelligent Medicine2021,1,2: | 0 |
| 13 | Neuro-11:a new questionnaire for the assessment of somatic symptom disorder in general hospitals显示文摘Background Somatic symptom disorder(SSD)commonly presents in general hospital settings,posing challenges for healthcare professionals lacking specialised psychiatric training.The Neuro-11 Neurosis Scale(Neuro-11)offers promise in screening and evaluating psychosomatic symptoms,comprising 11 concise items across three dimensions:somatic symptoms,negative emotions and adverse events.Prior research has validated the scale’s reliability,validity and theoretical framework in somatoform disorders,indicating its potential as a valuable tool for SSD screening in general hospitals.Aims This study aimed to establish the reliability,validity and threshold of the Neuro-11 by comparing it with standard questionnaires commonly used in general hospitals for assessing SSD.Through this comparative analysis,we aimed to validate the effectiveness and precision of the Neuro-11,enhancing its utility in clinical settings.Methods Between November 2020 and December 2021,data were collected from 731 patients receiving outpatient and inpatient care at Shenzhen People’s Hospital in China for various physical discomforts.The patients completed multiple questionnaires,including the Neuro-11,Short Form 36 Health Survey,Patient Health Questionnaire 15 items,Hamilton Anxiety Scale and Hamilton Depression Scale.Psychiatry-trained clinicians conducted structured interviews and clinical examinations to establish a gold standard diagnosis of SSD.Results The Neuro-11 demonstrated strong content reliability and structural consistency,correlating significantly with internationally recognised and widely used questionnaires.Despite its brevity,the Neuro-11 exhibited significant correlations with other questionnaires.A test-retest analysis yielded a correlation coefficient of 1.00,Spearman-Brown coefficient of 0.64 and Cronbach’sαcoefficient of 0.72,indicating robust content reliability and internal consistency.Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the validity of the three-dimensional structure(p<0.001,comparative fit index=0.94,Tucker-Lewis index=0.92,root mean square error of approximation=0.06,standardised root mean square residual=0.04).The threshold of the Neuro-11 is set at 10 points based on the maximum Youden’s index from the receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.In terms of diagnostic efficacy,the Neuro-11 has an area under the curve of 0.67. | Silin Zeng Yian Yu Shan Lu Sirui Zhang Xiaolin Su Ge Dang Ying Liu Zhili Cai Siyan Chen Yitao He Xin Jiang Chanjuan Chen Lei Yuan Peng Xie Jianqing Shi Qingshan Geng Rafael H Llinas Yi Guo | 2023 | General Psychiatry2023,36,4: | 0 |
