1“Pincer movement”:Reversing cisplatin resistance based on simultaneous glutathione depletion and glutathione S-transferases inhibition by redox-responsive degradable organosilica hybrid nanoparticles显示文摘The therapeutic efficacy of cisplatin has been restricted by drug resistance of cancers.Intracellular glutathione(GSH)detoxification of cisplatin under the catalysis of glutathione S-transferases(GST)plays important roles in the development of cisplatin resistance.Herein,a strategy of“pincer movement”based on simultaneous GSH depletion and GST inhibition is proposed to enhance cisplatin-based chemotherapy.Specifically,a redox-responsive nanomedicine based on disulfide-bridged degradable organosilica hybrid nanoparticles is developed and loaded with cisplatin and ethacrynic acid(EA),a GST inhibitor.Responding to high level of intracellular GSH,the hybrid nanoparticles can be gradually degraded due to the break of disulfide bonds,which further promotes drug release.Meanwhile,the disulfide-mediated GSH depletion and EA-induced GST inhibition cooperatively prevent cellular detoxification of cisplatin and reverse drug resistance.Moreover,the nanomedicine is integrated into microneedles for intralesional drug delivery against cisplatin-resistant melanoma.The in vivo results show that the nanomedicine-loaded microneedles can achieve significant GSH depletion,GST inhibition,and consequent tumor growth suppression.Overall,this research provides a promising strategy for the construction of new-type nanomedicines to overcome cisplatin resistance,which extends the biomedical application of organosilica hybrid nanomaterials and enables more efficient chemotherapy against drug-resistant cancers.Boyi Niu Yixian Zhou Kaixin Liao Ting Wen Sixian Lao Guilan Quan Xin Pan Chuanbin Wu 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,4:3
2Simultaneous estimation of soil moisture and hydraulic parameters using residual resampling particle filter显示文摘Land data assimilation(DA) has gradually developed into an important earth science research method because of its ability to combine model simulations and observations.Integrating new observations into a land surface model by the DA method can correct the predicted trajectory of the model and thus,improve the accuracy of state variables.It can also reduce uncertainties in the model by estimating some model parameters simultaneously.Among the various DA methods,the particle filter is free from the constraints of linear models and Gaussian error distributions,and can be applicable to any nonlinear and non-Gaussian state-space model;therefore,its importance in land data assimilation research has increased.In this study,a DA scheme was developed based on the residual resampling particle filter.Microwave brightness temperatures were assimilated into the macro-scale semi-distributed variance infiltration capacity model to estimate the surface soil moisture and three hydraulic parameters simultaneously.Finally,to verify the scheme,a series of comparative experiments was performed with experimental data obtained during the Soil Moisture Experiment of 2004 in Arizona.The results show that the scheme can improve the accuracy of soil moisture estimations significantly.In addition,the three hydraulic parameters were also well estimated,demonstrating the effectiveness of the DA scheme.BI HaiYun MA JianWen QIN SiXian ZHANG HongJuan 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,4:3
3Semantic information processing in industrial networks显示文摘The industrial Internet of things(industrial IoT, IIoT) aims at connecting everything, which poses severe challenges to existing wireless communication. To handle the demand for massive access in future industrial networks, semantic information processing is integrated into communication systems so as to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of data transmission. The semantic paradigm is particularly suitable for the purpose-oriented information exchanging scheme in industrial networks. To illustrate its applicability, typical industrial data are investigated, i.e., time series and images. 10The novel BRDT inhibitor NHWD870 shows potential as a male contraceptive in mice显示文摘Small molecule inhibitors of the bromodomain and extraterminal domain(BET)family proteins have emerged as promising options not only for the treatment of multiple cancers but also for disturbing the process of sperm maturation with potential for use as viable contraceptive targets.In this study,we find that the BET family inhibitor NHWD870 and BRDT can bind well in vitro through bioinformatics software prediction and protein binding inhibition experiments.NHWD870 can produce a good contraceptive effect through animal experiments in vivo,and the fertility can be restored to normal after drug withdrawal.Transcriptomics and proteomics results suggest that NHWD870 affects pathways related to spermatogenesis and maturation,further contributing to the male infertility phenotype.Our results show that NHWD870 can induce a complete and reversible contraceptive effect in mice,which is stronger than that of JQ1 and its synthesized derivatives.This study is expected to eventually lead to clinical trials.Sixian Wu Xiaoliang Li Lijun Shang Lvying Wu Tongtong Li Peiyv Li Zhiliang Ji Jianwen Hou Mingzhu Yin Wenming Xu 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,12:1
11Object tracking using a convolutional network and a structured output SVM显示文摘Object tracking has been a challenge in computer vision. In this paper, we present a novel method to model target appearance and combine it with structured output learning for robust online tracking within a tracking-by-detection framework.We take both convolutional features and handcrafted features into account to robustly encode the target appearance. First, we extract convolutional features of the target by kernels generated from the initial annotated frame. To capture appearance variation during tracking, we propose a new strategy to update the target and background kernel pool.Secondly, we employ a structured output SVM for refining the target's location to mitigate uncertainty in labeling samples as positive or negative. Compared with existing state-of-the-art trackers, our tracking method not only enhances the robustness of the feature representation, but also uses structured output prediction to avoid relying on heuristic intermediate steps to produce labelled binary samples. 15Pure Detail Feature Extraction Network for Visible-Infrared Re-Identification显示文摘Cross-modality pedestrian re-identification has important appli-cations in the field of surveillance.Due to variations in posture,camera per-spective,and camera modality,some salient pedestrian features are difficult to provide effective retrieval cues.Therefore,it becomes a challenge to design an effective strategy to extract more discriminative pedestrian detail.Although many effective methods for detailed feature extraction are proposed,there are still some shortcomings in filtering background and modality noise.To further purify the features,a pure detail feature extraction network(PDFENet)is proposed for VI-ReID.PDFENet includes three modules,adaptive detail mask generation module(ADMG),inter-detail interaction module(IDI)and cross-modality cross-entropy(CMCE).ADMG and IDI use human joints and their semantic associations to suppress background noise in features.CMCE guides the model to ignore modality noise by generating modality-shared feature labels.Specifically,ADMG generates masks for pedestrian details based on pose estimation.Masks are used to suppress background information and enhance pedestrian detail information.Besides,IDI mines the semantic relations among details to further refine the features.Finally,CMCE cross-combines classifiers and features to generate modality-shared feature labels to guide model training.Extensive ablation experiments as well as visualization results have demonstrated the effectiveness of PDFENet in eliminating background and modality noise.In addition,comparison experi-ments in two publicly available datasets also show the competitiveness of our approach.Jiaao Cui Sixian Chan Pan Mu Tinglong Tang Xiaolong Zhou 2023Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,37,8:0
16Digital twins in smart farming:An autoware-based simulator for autonomous agricultural vehicles显示文摘Digital twins can improve the level of control over physical entities and help manage complex systems by integrating a range of technologies.The autonomous agricultural machine has shown revolutionary effects on labor reduction and utilization rate in field works.Autonomous vehicles in precision agriculture have the potential to improve competitiveness compared to current crop production methods and have become a research hotspot.However,the development time and resources required in experiments have limited the research in this area.Simulation tools in unmanned farming that are required to enable more efficient,reliable,and safe autonomy are increasingly demanding.Inspired by the recent development of an open-source virtual simulation platform,this study proposed an autoware-based simulator to evaluate the performance of agricultural machine guidance based on digital twins.Oblique photogrammetry using drones is used to construct threedimensional maps of fields at the same scale as reality.A communication format suitable for agricultural machines was developed for data input and output,along with an inter-node communication methodology.The conversion,publishing,and maintenance of multiple coordinate systems were completed based on ROS(Robot Operating System).Coverage path planning was performed using hybrid curves based on Bézier curves,and it was tested in both a simulation environment and actual fields with the aid of Pure Pursuit algorithms and PID controllers.Xin Zhao Wanli Wang Long Wen Zhibo Chen Sixian Wu Kun Zhou Mengyao Sun Lanjun Xu Bingbing Hu Caicong Wu 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,4:0

18Construction of a Cu@hollow TS-1 nanoreactor based on a hierarchical full-spectrum solar light utilization strategy for photothermal synergistic artificial photosynthesis显示文摘The artificial photosynthesis technology has been recognized as a promising solution for CO_(2) utilization.Photothermal catalysis has been proposed as a novel strategy to promote the efficiency of artificial photosynthesis by coupling both photochemistry and thermochemistry.However,strategies for maximizing the use of solar spectra with different frequencies in photothermal catalysis are urgently needed.Here,a hierarchical full-spectrum solar light utilization strategy is proposed.Based on this strategy,a Cu@hollow titanium silicalite-1 zeolite(TS-1)nanoreactor with spatially separated photo/thermal catalytic sites is designed to realize high-efficiency photothermal catalytic artificial photosynthesis.The space-time yield of alcohol products over the optimal catalyst reached 64.4μmol g−1 h−1,with the selectivity of CH3CH2OH of 69.5%.This rationally designed hierarchical utilization strategy for solar light can be summarized as follows:(1)high-energy ultraviolet light is utilized to drive the initial and difficult CO_(2) activation step on the TS-1 shell;(2)visible light can induce the localized surface plasmon resonance effect on plasmonic Cu to generate hot electrons for H2O dissociation and subsequent reaction steps;and(3)low-energy near-infrared light is converted into heat by the simulated greenhouse effect by cavities to accelerate the carrier dynamics.This work provides some scientific and experimental bases for research on novel,highly efficient photothermal catalysts for artificial photosynthesis.Sixian Zhu Qiao Zhao Hongxia Guo Li Liu Xiao Wang Xiwei Qi Xianguang Meng Wenquan Cui 2024Carbon Energy2024,6,2:0
19A Study of Real-time Peak Oxygen Consumption and Six-minute Walk Test显示文摘Objectives To assess the relationship between peak oxygen consumption(PVO2) and the ambulation distance in six-minute walk test (6MWT)among the healthy subjects. Methods The 51 healthy subjects were recruited for the six-minute walk test. Data of pulmonary gas exchange breath by breath, such as VO2, VCO2 were real-time measured with wireless remote sensing K4B2, so to study the relationship between peak oxygen uptake and the ambulation distance. Results It was noticed that there was a positive linear correlation between the ambulation distance and PVO2 (r=0.619, P<0.001) in six-minute walk test. The regression equation was set up (VO2/kg=0.05D-6.331, P<0.001). PVO2>PVCO2,R<1 were found,which suggested that 6MWT was a test below anaerobic threshold.
