2PREVALENCE AND RISK FACTORS OF PERIPHERAL ARTERIAL DISEASE IN DIABETIC PATIENTS OVER 50 YEARS OLD IN CHINA显示文摘Objective To investigate the prevalence of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in China type 2 diabetic patients and to demonstrate the relationships between putative risk factors and PAD. Methods In total 1 397 type 2 diabetic patients aged 50 years and older were enrolled and determined ankle-brachial index (ABI) and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) in 15 Class III Grade A hospitals in 7 major cities of China. Results Mean patient age was 63.7±8.2 years and mean duration of diabetes mellitus was 9.39±7.4 years. Two hundreds and seventy-two (19.47%) patients were diagnosed as PAD by ABI <0.9, 122 (18.37%) in male and 150 (20.46%) in female. PAD patients had a significantly longer duration of diabetes mellitus, higher hemoglobin Alc, and a significantly lower mean body mass index than non-PAD ones. Aging, smoking, and systolic blood pressure were found to be positively related with the prevalence of PAD. In terms of lipid profiles, no variable was found to relate with PAD. Notably, baPWV showed as the same significant guiding index for PAD, almost matched with ABI. Conclusions PAD is a common complication in China type 2 diabetic patients. 3Report on Childhood Obesity in China (9): Sugar-sweetened Beverages Consumption and Obesity显示文摘Objective To explore the associations between sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption and obesity as well as obesity-related cardiometabolic disorders among children in China. Methods A total of 6974 (boys 3558, girls 3412) children aged 6-13 years participated in the study. Each participant's height, weight, waist circumference, fasting glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, high- density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were measured. The type of beverage consumption was determined using a self-administered questionnaire. Results SSBs were consumed regularly by 46.1% of the children. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% confidence internal (CI)] of obesity was 7.6% [as the reference group (ref.)], 10.1% [1.36(1.07, 1.74)], and 11.6% [1.46(1.21, 1.75)], among children who regularly drank milk, other beverages and SSBs, respectively. Regularly drinking SSBs elevated the likelihood of abdominal obesity [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI): 1.36 (1.17, 1.59)]. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI)] of obesity among children who regularly drank sports/caloric beverages, carbonated beverages, sweet tea, and plant protein beverages was 16.8% [2.00(1.31, 3.07)], 12.7% [1.52(1.23, 1.88)], 11.5% [1.52(1.18, 1.95)], and 10.4% [1.41(1.03, 1.94)], respectively, which was higher than that of regular milk drinkers [7.6 % (ref.)]. The prevalence [adjusted odds ratio (95% CI)] of abdominal obesity among children who regularly drank sweet tea, fruit/vegetable juices, and carbonated beverages was 17.7% [1.55(1.26, 1.90)], 16.2% [1.36(1.09, 1.70)], and 15.3% [1.24(1.03, 1.50)], respectively, which was much higher than that of regular milk drinkers [12.8% (ref.)]. Conclusions Regular SSB consumption was positively related to obesity and abdominal obesity. 4Report on Childhood Obesity in China (10): Association of Sleep Duration with Obesity显示文摘Objectives To explore the association of sleep duration with obesity among children in urban areas of China.Methods A total of 6 576 children(3 293 boys and 3 283 girls) aged 7-11 years were randomly selected from 36 primary schools in 6 metropolitan cities in China.A 7-day Physical Activity Recall was used to assess the sleep duration and physical activity level.The height,weight,waist circumference(WC) and percentage of body fat(%BF,as determined by bioelectrical impedance analysis technique) were measured by following the standardized operation procedures.The information on demography,lifestyle and eating habits was collected with a self-administered questionnaire from participants and their parents.Results The average sleep duration per night in the children was 9.7 h with the decreasing trends along with the increase of age(P<0.05).The sleep duration was negatively associated with body mass index(BMI) and WC in both boys and girls after adjustment for confounders(β value-0.23 and-0.82 for boys,-0.24 and-0.91 for girls,respectively,P<0.01).However,no significant association of sleep duration with %BF was found.Children who slept less than 9.0 h per night had a higher risk for overweight and obesity(OR=1.29,95% CI:1.01,1.64) and abdominal obesity(OR=1.38,95% CI:1.04,1.83) as compared with those who slept for 10.0-10.9 h.Conclusions Short sleep duration is associated with obesity.It is important to ensure adequate sleep duration of children and foster their healthy lifestyle at an early stage of life.MENG Li Ping LIUAi Ling HU Xiao Qi ZHANG Qian DU Song Ming FANG Hong Yun MA Jun XU Gui Fa LI Ying GUO Hong Wei DU Lin MA Guan Sheng 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,2:16
5Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 6Chronic Intermittent Hypobaric Hypoxia Ameliorates Renal Vascular Hypertension Through Up-regulating NOS in Nucleus Tractus Solitarii显示文摘Chronic intermittent hypobaric hypoxia(CIHH)is known to have an anti-hypertensive effect, which might be related to modulation of the baroreflex in rats with renal vascular hypertension(RVH). In this study, RVH was induced by the 2-kidney-1-clip method(2 K1 C) in adult male Sprague-Dawley rats. The rats were then treated with hypobaric hypoxia simulating 5000 m altitude for 6 h/day for 28 days. The arterial blood pressure(ABP), heart rate(HR), and renal sympathetic nerve activity(RSNA) were measured before and after microinjection of L-arginine into the nucleus tractus solitarii(NTS) in anesthetized rats.Evoked excitatory postsynaptic currents(eEPSCs) and spontaneous EPSCs(sEPSCs) were recorded in anterogradely-labeled NTS neurons receiving baroreceptor afferents. We measured the protein expression of neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS) and endothelial NOS(eNOS) in the NTS. The results showed that the ABP in RVH rats was significantly lower after CIHH treatment. The inhibition of ABP, HR, and RSNA induced by L-arginine was less in RVH rats than in sham rats, and greater in the CIHHtreated RVH rats than the untreated RVH rats. The eEPSC amplitude in NTS neurons receiving baroreceptor afferents was lower in the RVH rats than in the sham rats and recovered after CIHH. The protein expression of nNOS and e NOS in the NTS was lower in the RVH rats than in the sham rats and this decrease was reversed by CIHH. 7BRIF and CARIF progress显示文摘China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) is currently constructing Beijing rare ion beam facility (BRIF) and is proposing China advanced rare ion beam facility (CARIF). This paper is aiming at introducing the progress of BRIF project and the con ceptual design CARIF. The ISOL type facility BRIF under construction is composed of a 100 MeV 300 ?A proton cyclotron, an ISOL with mass resolution of 20000, and a super-conducting LINAC of 2 MeV/q, and will be commissioned in 2013. CARIF facility proposed is planned to use both ISOL and PF techniques. It is based on a China advanced research reactor CARR that was critical, with ISOL separation of fission fragment, post acceleration to 150 MeV/u, and fragmentation of neu tron-rich fission fragment beam like 132Sn. 8Assessment of hemodynamics in precancerous lesion of hepatocellular carcinoma:Evaluation with MR perfusion显示文摘AIM: To investigate the hemodynamic changes in a precancerous lesion model of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: Hemodynamic changes in 18 Wistar rats were studied with non-invasive magnetic resonance (MR) perfusion. The changes induced by diethylnitrosamine (DEN) developed into liver nodular lesions due to hepatic cirrhosis during the progression of carcinogenesis. The MR perfusion data [positive enhancement integral (PEI)] were compared between the nodular lesions corresponding well with MR images and pathology and their surrounding hepatic parenchyma. RESULTS: A total of 46 nodules were located by MR imaging and autopsy, including 22 dysplastic nodules (DN), 9 regenerative nodules (RN), 10 early HCCs and 5 overt HCCs. Among the 22 DNs, 6 were low-grade DN (lGDN) and 16 were high-grade DN (HGDN). The average PEI of RN, DN, early and overt HCC was 205.67 ± 31.17, 161.94 ± 20.74, 226.09 ± 34.83, 491.86 ± 44.61 respectively, and their liver parenchyma nearby was 204.84 ± 70.19. Comparison of the blood perfusion index between each RN and its surrounding hepatic parenchyma showed no statistically significant difference (P = 0.06). There were significant differences in DN (P = 0.02). During the late hepatic arterial phase, the perfusion curve in DN declined. DN had an iso-signal intensity at the early hepatic arterial phase and a low signal intensity at the portal venous phase. Of the 10early HCCs, 4 demonstrated less blood perfusion and 6 displayed minimally increased blood flow compared to the surrounding parenchyma. Five HCCs showed significantly increased blood supply compared to the surrounding parenchyma (P = 0.02). 9Genetic analysis of fruit shape traits at different maturation stages in sponge gourd显示文摘The fruit shape is important quantitative trait closely related to the fruit quality. However, the genetic model of fruit shapes has not been proposed. Therefore, in the present study, analysis of genetic effects for fruit shape traits (fruit length and fruit perimeter) in sponge gourd was conducted by employing a developmental genetic model including fruit direct effects and maternal effects. Analysis approaches of unconditional and conditional variances were applied to evaluate the genetic behavior of fruit shape traits at economical and physiological maturation times. The results of variance analysis indicated that fruit length and fruit perimeter were simultaneously affected by fruit direct genetic effects and maternal effects. Fruit direct genetic effects were relatively more important for fruit shape traits at whole developmental period. The gene expression was most active at the economical maturation stage (1~12 d after flowering) for two shape traits, and the activation of gene was mostly due to direct dominance effects at physiological maturation stage (13~60 d after flowering). The coefficients due to different genetic effects, as well as the phenotypic correlation coefficients, varied significantly between fruit shape traits themselves at various maturation stages. 11Degassing of deep-sourced CO_(2) from Xianshuihe-Anninghe fault zones in the eastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘A large number of gases are releasing from the medium-high temperature geothermal fields distributed along the large-scale strike-slip fault zones in the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau.In this study,11 hot spring water and the associated bubbling gas samples were collected along the Xianshuihe-Anninghe fault zones(XSH-ANHFZ)and analyzed for chemical and isotopic compositions.The δ^(18)_(H_(2)O) and δD_(H_(2)O) values indicate that hot spring waters are predominantly meteoric origin recharged from different altitudes.Most water samples are significantly enriched in Na^(+) and HCO_(3) due to the dissolution of regional evaporites,carbonates and Na-silicates.^(3)He/^(4)He ratios of the gas samples are 0.025-2.73 times the atmospheric value.The ^(3)He/^(4)He ratios are high in the Kangding region where the dense faults are distributed,and gradually decrease with increasing distance from Kangding towards both sides along the Xianshuihe fault zones(XSHFZ).Hydrothermal fluids have dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC)concentrations from 2 to 42 mmol L^(-1),δ^(13)C_(DIC) from -6.9‰ to 1.3‰,δ^(13)C_(CO_(2)) from -7.2‰ to -3.6‰ and Δ^(14)C from -997‰ to -909‰.Combining regional geochemical and geological information,the CO_(2)sources can be attributed to deep-sourced CO_(2)from mantle and metamorphism of marine carbonate,and shallow-sourced CO_(2)from the dissolution of marine carbonate and biogenic CO_(2).The mass balance model shows that 11±6% of the DIC is sourced from the dissolution of shallow carbonate minerals,9±8% formed by pyrolysis of sedimentary organic matter,80±9% derived from deep metamorphic origin and mantle-derived CO_(2).Among them,the deep-sourced CO_(2)in Anninghe fault zones(ANHFZ)is merely metamorphic carbon,whereas ca.12% and ca.88% of the deep-sourced CO_(2)in the XSHFZ are derived from the mantle and metamorphic carbon,respectively.The average deep-sourced CO_(2)flux in the Kangding geothermal field is estimated to be 160 ta^(-1).If all the hot springs in various fault zones in the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau are taken into account,the regional deep-sourced CO_(2)flux would reach ca.10^(5) ta^(-1).These results show that the deep-sourced CO_(2)released from nonvolcanic areas might account for a considerable proportion of the total amount of global deep-sourced carbon degassing,which should be paid more attention to.Sheng XU Lufeng GUAN Maoliang ZHANG Jun ZHONG Wei LIU Xian'gang XIE Congqiang LIU Naoto TAKAHATA Yuji SANO 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,1:6
12Atorvastatin attenuates surgery-induced BBB disruption and cognitive impairment partly by suppressing NF-κB pathway and NLRP3 inflammasome activation in aged mice显示文摘In clinic,perioperative neurocognitive disorder is becoming a common complication of surgery in old patients.Neuroinflammation and blood-brain barrier(BBB)disruption are important contributors for cognitive impairment.Atorvastatin,as a strong HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor,has been widely used in clinic.However,it remains unclear whether atorvastatin could prevent anesthesia and surgery-induced BBB disruption and cognitive injury by its anti-inflammatory property.In this study,aged C57BL/6J mice were used to address this question.Initially,the mice were subject to atorvastatin treatment for 7 days(10 mg/kg).After a simple laparotomy under 1.5%isoflurane anesthesia,Morris water maze was performed to assess spatial learning and memory.Western blot analysis,immunohistochemistry,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to examine the inflammatory response,BBB integrity,and cell apoptosis.Terminal-deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling assay was used to assess cell apoptosis.The fluorescein sodium and transmission electron microscopy were used to detect the permeability and structure of BBB.The results showed that anesthesia and surgery significantly injured hippocampal-dependent learning and memory,which was ameliorated by atorvastatin.Atorvastatin could also reverse the surgery-induced increase of systemic and hippocampal cytokines,including IL-1β,TNF-α,and IL-6,accompanied by inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)pathway and Nucleotide-Binding Oligomerization Domain,or Leucine Rich Repeat and Pyrin Domain Containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasome activation,as well as hippocampal neuronal apoptosis.In addition,surgery triggered an increase of BBB permeability,paralleled by a decrease of the ZO-1,occludin,and Claudin 5 proteins in the hippocampus.However,atorvastatin treatment could protect the BBB integrity from the impact of surgery,by up-regulating the expressions of ZO-1,occludin,and Claudin 5.These findings suggest that atorvastatin exhibits neuroprotective effects on cognition in aged mice undergoing surgery.Pengfei Liu Quansheng Gao Lei Guan Yanting Hu Jingwen Jiang Teng Gao Weixuan Sheng Xinying Xue Hui Qiao Tianzuo Li 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,5:6
13The Medium Energy X-ray telescope (ME) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Medium Energy X-ray telescope(ME) is one of the three main telescopes on board the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT) astronomy satellite. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components.The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. 15Forest biomass carbon storage from multiple inventories over the past 30 years in Gansu Province, China: implications from the age structure of major forest types显示文摘We used the forest inventory data of Gansu Province, China to quantify carbon storage and carbon density changes by regional forest cover and by typical forest types in 1979–2006. Total forest area increased from1.77 × 106 ha in 1979 to 2.32 × 106 ha in 2006, and the forest carbon storage, estimated by the continuous biomass expansion factor method, increased from 83.14 to 100.66 Tg, equivalent to a carbon accumulation rate of 0.0071 Tg per year during the period. Mean carbon densities were 44.83–48.50 t ha-1 and the values decreased slightly over the time period. Natural forests generated greater carbon storage and density than did plantations. By regression analysis, forest stand age was an important parameter in carbon density studies. We developed various regression equations between carbon density and stand age for major types of natural forests and plantations in the region. 16Enterprise stent for symptomatic complex intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis: safety and efficiency显示文摘Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Enterprise stent in the treatment of symptomatic complex intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis. Methods and materials: 20 complex cases among 53 patients with symptomatic ischemic stroke who were treated with balloon angioplasty and enterprise stents in Department of Neuro-interventional Radiology, The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from Jan. 2014 to Dec. 2017 were retrospectively enrolled in this study. Diagnostic criteria for complex intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis were as follows: 1) intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis was ≥70% confirmed by digital subtraction angiography(DSA) using the formulas described by the Warfarin Aspirin Symptomatic Intracranial Disease(WASID) method; 2) length of lesion was >10 mm. Basic characteristics of target lesions, technical success rate, perioperative safety, follow-up outcomes were investigated. Results: 20 patients were enrolled in this study, including 15 males and 5 females from 44 to 70 years old with an average age of 57.20 ± 9.25. 20 lesions were treated with 20 enterprise stents. The average preoperative and postoperative residual stenosis was reduced from(77.45 ± 8.44)% to(24.89 ± 16.61)%. The successful rate of operation was 100%. Among the perioperative complications, only 1 case(5%) experienced perforating branch event. The average clinical follow-up period was 13.15 ± 11.33 months(time range: 5–38). There were no ischemic events, no bleeding events and no various causes of death during the follow-up period. 8 lesions(40.0%) underwent DSA follow-up examinations and 12 lesions(60.0%) were checked by CT angiography during the follow-up period. 3 lesions(15.0%) developed ISR without any cerebral ischemia symptoms. Conclusion: This retrospective, single-center study suggests that enterprise stent is effective in the treatment of symptomatic complex intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis with less perioperative complications. 17Zero-order-free meta-holograms in a broadband visible range显示文摘The unwanted zero-order light accompanied by the birth of diffractive optical elements and caused mainly by fabrication errors and wavelength variations is a key factor that deteriorates the performance of diffraction-related optical devices such as holograms,gratings,beam shapers,beam splitters,optical diffusers,and diffractive microlenses.Here,inspired by the unique characteristic of nano-polarizer-based metasurfaces for both positive and negative amplitude modulation of incident light,we propose a general design paradigm to eliminate zero-order diffraction without burdening the metasurface design and fabrication.The experimentally demonstrated metahologram,which projects a holographic image with a wide angle of 70°×70°in the for field,presents a very low zero-order intensity(only 0.7%of the total energy of the reconstructed image).More importantly,the zero-orderfree meta-hologram has a large tolerance limit for wavelength variations(under a broadband illumination from520 to 660 nm),which brings important technical advances.The strategy proposed could significantly relieve the fabrication difficulty of metasurfaces and be viable for various diffractive-optics-related applications includingholography,laser beam shaping,optical data storage,vortex beam generation,and so on.RAO FU LIANGUI DENG ZHIQIANG GUAN SHENG CHANG JIN TAO ZILE LI GUOXING ZHENG 2020Photonics Research2020,8,5:5
18S100A4 over-expression underlies lymph node metastasis and poor prognosis in colorectal cancer显示文摘AIM:To develop lymph node metastasis(LNM)-associated biomarkers for colorectal cancer(CRC) using quantitative proteome analysis.METHODS:Differences in protein expression between primary CRC with LNM(LNM CRC) and without LNM(non-LNM CRC) were assessed using methyl esterification stable isotope labeling coupled with 2D liquid chromatography followed by tandem mass spectrometry(2D-LC-MS/MS).The relationship to clinicopathological parameters and prognosis of candidate biomarkers was examined using an independent sample set.RESULTS:Forty-three proteins were found to be differentially expressed by at least 2.5-fold in two types of CRC.S100A4 was significantly upregulated in LNM CRC compared with non-LNM CRC,which was confirmed by Western blotting,immunohistochemistry and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction.Further immunohistochemistry on another 112 CRC cases showed that overexpression of S100A4 frequently existed in LNM CRC compared with non-LNM CRC(P < 0.001).Overexpression of S100A4 was significantly associated with LNM(P < 0.001),advanced TNM stage(P < 0.001),increased 5-year recurrence rate(P < 0.001) and decreased 5-year overall survival rate(P < 0.001).Univariate and multivariate analyses indicated that S100A4 expression was an independent prognostic factor for recurrence and survival of CRC patients(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:S100A4 might serve as a powerful biomarker for LNM and a prognostic factor in CRC.Li-Yong Huang 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,1:4
19Effects of Rat Cytomegalovirus on the Nervous System of the Early Rat Embryo显示文摘The purpose of the study was to investigate the impact of rat cytomegalovirus(RCMV) infection on the development of the nervous system in rat embryos,and to evaluate the involvement of Wnt signaling pathway key molecules and the downstream gene neurogenin 1(Ngn1) in RCMV infected neural stem cells(NSCs).Infection and control groups were established,each containing 20 pregnant Wistar rats.Rats in the infection group were inoculated with RCMV by intraperitoneal injection on the first day of pregnancy.Rat E20 embryos were taken to evaluate the teratogenic rate.NSCs were isolated from E13 embryos,and maintained in vitro.We found:1) Poor fetal development was found in the infection group with low survival and high malformation rates.2) The proliferation and differentiation of NSCs were affected.In the infection group,NSCs proliferated more slowly and had a lower neurosphere formation rate than the control.The differentiation ratio from NSCs to neurons and glial cells was significantly different from that of the control,showed by immunofluorescence staining.3) Ngn1 mRNA expression and the nuclear β-catenin protein level were significantly lower than the control on day 2 when NSCs differentiated.4) The Morris water maze test was performed on 4-week pups,and the infected rats were found worse in learning and memory ability.In a summary,RCMV infection caused abnormalities in the rat embryonic nervous system,significantly inhibited NSC proliferation and differentiation,and inhibited the expression of key molecules in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway so as to affect NSCs differentiation.This may be an important mechanism by which RCMV causes embryonic nervous system abnormalities.Xiuning Sun YingJun Guan Fengjie Li Xutong Li Xiaowen Wang Zhiyu Guan Kai Sheng Li Yu Zhijun Liu 2012Virologica Sinica2012,27,4:4
20Association between High Fat-low Carbohydrate Diet Score and Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes in Chinese Population显示文摘Objective To study the association between high fat-low carbohydrate diet score and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes in Chinese population. Methods Data about 20 717 subjects aged 45-59 years from the cross-sectional 2002 China National Nutrition and Health Survey were analyzed. High fat-low carbohydrate diet was scored according to the energy of carbohydrate, fat, and protein. Results Of the 20 717 subjects, 1 332 were diagnosed with hyperglycemia and 662 were newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Multivariate adjusted analysis showed that the highest score of type 2 diabetes patients was 2.75 (95% CI: 2.09-3.61). The score of type 2 diabetes patients was 1.87 (95% CI: 1.35-2.58) after further adjustment for their socioeconomic status and physical activity. No significant difference was found in the odds ratio after further adjustment for BMI, blood pressure, lipid level, and energy intake. No evidence was observed for the relation between high fat-low carbohydrate-diet score in type 2 diabetes patients due to high family income, less education, physical activity, overweight, hypertension, high TG, or low HDL level.
