| 1 | Traditional Chinese medicine in COVID-19显示文摘COVID-19 pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARSCo V-2)has spread across the globe,posing an enormous threat to public health and safety.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),in combination with Western medicine(WM),has made important and lasting contributions in the battle against COVID-19.In this review,updated clinical effects and potential mechanisms of TCM,presented in newly recognized three distinct phases of the disease,are summarized and discussed.By integrating the available clinical and preclinical evidence,the efficacies and underlying mechanisms of TCM on COVID-19,including the highly recommended three Chinese patent medicines and three Chinese medicine formulas,are described in a panorama.We hope that this comprehensive review not only provides a reference for health care professionals and the public to recognize the significant contributions of TCM for COVID-19,but also serves as an evidence-based in-depth summary and analysis to facilitate understanding the true scientific value of TCM. | Ming Lyu Guanwei Fan Guangxu Xiao Taiyi Wang Dong Xu Jie Gao Shaoqin Ge Qingling Li Yuling Ma Han Zhang Jigang Wang Yuanlu Cui Junhua Zhang Yan Zhu Boli Zhang | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11: | 14 |
| 2 | Inferring trophic variation for Antarctic krill(Euphausia superba) in the Antarctic Peninsula from the austral fall to early winter using stable isotope analysis显示文摘The Antarctic krill(Euphausia superba) is a key species in the Southern Ocean ecosystem and an important link in the food web of the Antarctic ecosystem. The trophic information for this species during the transition from the austral fall to the winter is important to understand its poorly known overwintering mechanisms. However, the few studies on the topic differ in their results, in terms of both spatial and temporal variables. We investigated the size dependence and monthly and regional variation in δ^(13) C and δ^(15) N values of adult krill in the Antarctic Peninsula, in the austral fall(April to May) and the early winter(June). We aimed to examine the trophic variations of krill occurred during this period, and the relationship between krill and their feeding environment in the Antarctic marine ecosystem. The following results were obtained:(1) no significant relationship was observed between size and the δ13 C value of krill, but the δ15 N value of krill presented a remarkable association with size;(2)the δ13 C values of krill increased during the austral fall, but no remarkable variation existed at the onset of winter,and the δ15 N values were not significant different during this period;(3) mean δ15 N values of krill differed significantly between the Bransfield Strait and the South Shetland Islands. | 3 | China's foreign aid for global poverty alleviation:artemisinin-based combination therapies against malaria in Togo显示文摘From providing funds for the global fight against infectious diseases,to actively participating in global health security actions,to strengthening mutual cooperation in the field of health,and providing medical treatment,training and scholarships to countries in need,China’s foreign aid on global poverty alleviation is increasingly diversified and expanding in scale.Indeed,China is playing an increasingly important leading role in the global health agenda.It is worth mentioning that over the years,artemisinin compound have saved millions of lives all over the world,especially in poverty-stricken areas.China’s work mode of malaria elimination has also been written into WHO’s technical documents and recommended to other countries.Since 2007,Chinese medical staff has carried out the Artemisinin Compound Malaria Control Project in Comoros,bringing Chinese prevention and treatment programs to the local area.By 2014,Comoros had achieved zero deaths from malaria,and the number of cases had dropped by 98%.Now,this program is also extended to Togo,another African country.This article preliminarily summarizes the malaria profile in Togo and introduces China-Togo Cooperative Artemisinin Malaria Control Demonstration Project to provide a reference for better anti-malaria assistance in Togo,and also shows one of the substantive actions of China’s participation in global health governance,which contributes Chinese wisdom and offers Chinese solutions to global poverty alleviation. | Qi Wang Chuyi Yu Hongying Zhang Shaoqin Zheng Jianping Song Changsheng Deng | 2021 | Global Health Journal2021,5,3: | 3 |

| 5 | Excellent Electrochemical Performances of Intrinsic Polyaniline Nanofibers Fabricated by Electrochemical Deposition显示文摘A simple route to synthesize the polyaniline(PANI) nanofibers with diameter about 150 nm was reported. In this strategy, the PANI nanofibers were fabricated by electrochemical deposition by using two-electrode configuration in 0.01 M aniline and 0.01 M H_2SO_4 electrolytes. The as-prepared materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), Raman spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). The electrochemical properties of the PANI nanofibers electrode as supercapacitor materials were investigated. The PANI nanofibers electrode showed high capacitance of 485 F·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1), and the decrease in the specific capacitance is about 3.5% in 1 000 cycles. | 6 | Experimental investigation of three-dimensional mixed-mode fracture of a titanium alloy at room and elevated temperatures显示文摘Damage tolerance of titanium alloy structures is very important for the safety of modern aircraft under complex loading and environmental conditions. However, there is no available systematic knowledge about the effect of alloy thickness under mixed-mode loading at elevated temperatures. In the present study, a newly developed fracture experimental technique based on high-temperature moiré interferometry was employed to investigate experimentally I-II mixed-mode fracture in titanium alloy TC11 of various thicknesses at room and elevated temperatures. Compact shear specimens with thickness ranging from 1.8 to 7.1 mm were tested. The effects of temperature, thickness, and loading angle on the load capacity and crack initiation angle were investigated systematically. The TC11 alloy was shown to possess varied fracture performance at elevated tem-perature, and an opposite thickness effect at room temperature. Increasing temperature would enhance the fracture load capacity of thick specimens but reduce the fracture load capacity of thin specimens. Crack initiation angles under I-II mixed-mode loading showed the thickness-temperature coupling effects. | 7 | The clinicopathological and immuohistochemical analysis of solid-pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas:report of 9 cases显示文摘Objective:To investigate the clinical features,pathological characteristics and immunophenotype of solid-pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas(SPTP).Methods:Nine surgically treated cases of SPTP were retrospectively reviewed.Hematoxylin and Eosin(HE) staining and immunohistochemical staining were used to analyze all cases,and the general clinical data was collected.Results:Six patients were asymptomatic except for a palpable mass.Two patients complained of vague-epigastric pain.One patient appeared jaundice.The tumor was encapsulated and solid tissues alternately with cystic tissues.Histologically,the histological structure of solid portion was pseudopapillary with a fibrovascular core.Tumor cells were uniform and medium-sized which were arranged in sheets ets or nests or pseudopapillary patterns.Immunohistochemical studies demonstrated that SPTP proved positive in vimentin(9/9 cases),AAT(9/9 cases),NSE(9/9 cases),ACT(7/9 cases),CK20(2/9 cases),CgA(1/9 cases),S-100(3/9cases),PR(4/9cases),Syn(3/9 cases) and CD56(5/9cases),negative in CEA and ER.Conclusion:SPTP is a tumor predominantly occurring in young women frequently without special symptoms.This tumor has various characteristical histological patterns with different immunophenotype. | Shaoqin Chen Shengquan Zou Qibao Dai Peisheng Huang Weihua Cai Hong Li | 2007 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2007,21,6: | 2 |
| 8 | Polyploidy events shaped the expansion of transcription factors in Cucurbitaceae and exploitation of genes for tendril development显示文摘Cucurbitaceae is one of the most important plant families distributed worldwide.Transcription factors(TFs)regulate plant growth at the transcription level.Here,we performed a systematic analysis of 42641 TFs from 63 families in 14 Cucurbitaceae and 10 non-cucurbit species.Whole-genome duplication(WGD)was the dominant event type in almost all Cucurbitaceae plants.The TF families were divided into 1210 orthogroups(OGs),of which,112 were unique to Cucurbitaceae.Although the loss of several gene families was detected in Cucurbitaceae,the gene families expanded in five species that experienced a WGD event comparing with grape.Our findings revealed that the recent WGD events that had occurred in Cucurbitaceae played important roles in the expansion of most TF families.The functional enrichment analysis of the genes that significantly expanded or contracted uncovered five gene families,AUX/IAA,NAC,NBS,HB,and NF-YB.Finally,we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the TCP gene family and identified 16 tendril-related(TEN)genes in 11 Cucurbitaceae species.Interestingly,the characteristic sequence changed from CNNFYFP to CNNFYLP in the TEN gene(Bhi06M000087)of Benincasa hispida.Furthermore,we identified a new characteristic sequence,YNN,which could be used for TEN gene exploitation in Cucurbitaceae.In conclusion,this study will serve as a reference for studying the relationship between gene family evolution and genome duplication.Moreover,it will provide rich genetic resources for functional Cucurbitaceae studies in the future. | Yu Zhang Yingchao Zhang Bing Li Xiao Tan Changping Zhu Tong Wu Shuyan Feng Qihang Yang Shaoqin Shen Tong Yu Zhuo Liu Xiaoming Song | 2022 | Horticultural Plant Journal2022,8,5: | 2 |
