Al^(3+)-induced vesicle formation显示文摘Aluminium laurate [Al(OOCC11H23)3] was synthesized as a surfactant, which can dissolve in micellar solution of a zwitterionic surfactant, tetradecycldimethylamine oxide (C14DMAO). The phase behavior of the mixtures of Al(OOCC11H23)3 and C14DMAO in water was studied and birefringent Lα-phase was observed. The birefringent Lα-phase consists of vesicles that were demonstrated by Polarizer and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) micrographs. Al3+-coordinated vesicles could be used as templating-precursor, providing a vesicle-route for preparation of inorganic nanoscale particles.DONG RenHao WANG LiHuan YUAN ZaiWu SONG AiXin HAO JingCheng 2007Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,19:1

Metal-ligand coordinated Ca(DS)_2/C_(14)DMAO/H_2O system:Phase behavior and rheological property显示文摘A metal-ligand coordinated surfactant system formed by calcium dodecylsulfate(Ca(DS)2)/tetradecyldimethylamine oxide (C14DMAO)/H2O was studied in terms of surface tension,conductivity,negative-staining TEM,phase behavior and rheological operation. In C14DMAO solution, when Ca(DS)2 is added,metal-ligand complexes form between the Ca 2+and N→O group of C14DMAO.Under this metal-ligand driving force, different phases can be obtained at different concentrations and different ratios of Ca(DS)2 and C14DMAO.At the fixed C14DMAO concentration,L1-phase consisting of spherical micelles forms at first. With the addition of Ca(DS)2,the spherical micelles elongate to be wormlike micelles and then after an L1/L-two phase region, the birefringent vesicle-phase(Lv-phase)region is observed. When Ca(DS)2 concentration continues to increase,a gel-phase region is found after the Lv-phase region and then precipitates of undissolved Ca(DS)2 appear. The transition between different phases is affected by temperature remarkably. The wormlike micellar solutions and vesicle solutions were checked by rheological measurements and showed apparent viscoelasticity at high surfactant concentrations.LI Xiang TIAN HongShan DING Qi SONG AiXin 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,3:0
Expression, purification and characterization of the soluble Cu_A domain of cytochrome c oxidase of Paracoccus versutus显示文摘The key subunit II of cytochrome c oxidase (CcO) contains a soluble binuclear copper center (CuA) domain. The CUA domain of Paracoccus versutus was cloned, expressed, purified and characterized. The gene encoding the CUA domain in pETlld vector was expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3). The results showed that the CuA domain was expressed mostly in inclusion bodies and the CUA domain protein synthesized in E. coli cells represents approximately 10 percent of the total cellular proteins. Dissolved in urea, dia-lyzed and recombined with Cu+/Cu2+ and purified by the Q-sepharose fast flow anion-exchange column and Sephadex G-75 gel filtration column, the soluble purple-colored protein, which shows a single band in electrophoresis, was obtained. The UV-visible absorption spectrum of CUA domain showed that there are intense band at 478 nm and a shoulder peak at 530 nm, and two weak bands at 360 and 806 nm respectively, which can be assigned to the charge transfer and the interactions of obitals of Cu-S and Cu-CuLI Lianzhi SONG Aixin XIE Yi HUANG Zhongxian Ellen de Waal Urszula Kolczak Gerard W.Canters 2001Chinese Science Bulletin2001,46,19:0
Salt-free vesicle-phases and their template effect显示文摘Researches on the construction, structure, and formation of vesicles formed from surfactants have attracted great attention from colloid and interface chemists. The vesicles formed from salt-free cationic-anionic surfactant systems are very different from those with excess salts, having many particular properties. In this paper, we introduce the properties of vesicles prepared from salt-free surfactant systems, according to our own results, especially the vesicles formed from surfactants with divalent metal ions as counterions in aqueous solutions and room temperature ionic liquids. Moreover, the primary results on template effect of the metal-ligand vesicles have also been summarized.SHI XingWang SONG AiXin HAO JingCheng 2007Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,19:0
Phase behavior and properties of salt-free cationic/anionic surfactant mixtures of oleic acid and stearic acid显示文摘Cationic base surfactant, tetradecyltrimethylammonium hydroxide (TTAOH), can be obtained through anion exchange from tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TTABr). Salt-free cationic and anionic (catanionic) surfactant mixtures were studied by mixing TTAOH with oleic acid (OA) or stearic acid (SA) in water. The phase behavior of TTAOH/OA/H2O is compared with that of TTAOH/SA/H2O. It was found that the phase behavior of TTAOH/OA/H2O and TTAOH/SA/H2O system differs from each other due to the existence of the unsaturated double carbon bond (C=C) in OA. At fixed total surfactant concentration (25 mg/mL) of TTAOH/OA/H2O system at 25℃, one can observe an isotropic L1 phase, and a L1/Lα two-phase region with increasing OA content. The volume of top turbid Lα phase increases while the bottom phase changes gradually from transparently clear to a bit turbid until a single Lα-phase is reached. Finally at high OA concentration, excess OA is separated from the bulk aqueous solutions. TTAOH/SA/H2O system usually forms white precipitating at 25℃ due to the high chain melting temperature of SA. When heated to 60℃, however, the state of samples changes. At fixed total surfactant concentration of 25 mg/mL, an isotropic L1 phase and a milk-white or bluish Lα-phase are observed with increasing SA concentration. Transparent thin layers which are strongly birefringent form at the tops of some samples within the Lα-phase region. Finally, at high SA concentration, excess SA is separated from the bulk aqueous solutions. In addition to phase behavior study, we also measured the conductivity of TTAOH/OA/H2O system at 25℃ and TTAOH/SA/H2O system at 60℃, respectively. Surface tension and rheological measurements were also performed on typical samples.ZHAO DianYing LI HongGuang SONG AiXin HAO JingCheng 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,21:0
GMP-quadruplex-based hydrogels stabilized by lanthanide ions显示文摘This work describes the gelation behaviors and properties of a biological molecule, guanosine 5′-monophosphate disodium salt(GMP), in the presence of trivalent lanthanide ions. Hydrogels composed of GMP-quadruplexes were prepared by adjusting p H,through which the protonation of phosphate group was controlled to tune the interactions between lanthanide ions and GMP.Within the p H region of 2–6, the electrostatic interaction between lanthanide ions and phosphate group is hindered and the cation-dipole interaction acts as the main driving force for the formation of G-quadruplexes. All the hydrogels were found consisting of three-dimensional network of the intertwining one-dimensional nanofibers formed by the stacking G-quartets induced by lanthanide ions. A significant fluorescence enhancement of thioflavin T(Th T), a fluorescent molecule, was found to be triggered by the G-quadruplex structures, for which the rotation of chromophoric groups on Th T molecules were prohibited due to the implant into the G-quadruplex structures.Jin Zhang Xiaoyang Li Xiuping Sun Aixin Song Yebang Tan Jingcheng Hao 2018Science China Chemistry2018,61,5:0
Hydrogels formed by L-histidine derivatives with highly selective release for charged dyes显示文摘The amphiphilic derivatives of L-histidine with different alkyl chains, NIPCA, UIPCA, and TIPCA, have been designed and their self-assembly behaviors with citric acid were investigated. All L-histidine derivatives can form hydrogels with citric acid, and exhibit the increasing gelation ability and mechanical strength with the increasing chain length. The gelation ability is considered to be affected by the synergistic effect of electrostatic interaction, hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interaction. The hydrogels exhibit excellent releasing selectivity for charged dyes in aqueous solution, enlightening people to utilize this kind of hydrogels as intelligent carriers to separate the mixtures of charged dyes.Xiaoyang Li Fanjun Zhang Xiuping Sun Yuanyuan Hu Aixin Song Jingcheng Hao 2018Chinese Chemical Letters2018,29,8:0
