| 1 | STOCHASTIC CRACKING AND HEALING BEHAVIORS OF THIN FILMS DURING REACTION-DIFFUSION GROWTH显示文摘The stochastic cracking and healing behaviors of reaction-diffusion growth of thin films were studied by means of Markov processes analysis. We chose the thermal growth of oxide scales on metals as an example of reaction-diffusion growth. The thermal growth of oxide films follows power law when no cracking occurs. Our results showed that the growth kinetics under stochastic cracking and healing conditions was different from that without cracking. It might be altered to either pseudo-linear or pseudo-power laws dependent upon the intensity and frequency of the cracking of the films. When the hoping items dominated, the growth followed pseudo-linear law; when the diffusional items dominated, it followed pseudo-power law with the exponentials lower than the intrinsical values. The numerical results were in good agreement with the meassured kinetics of isothermal and cyclic oxidation of NiAl-0.1 Y (at. %) alloys in air at 1273K. | S.L. Zhu, S.L. Yang, Y.M. Xiong, M.S. | 2 | Fatigue Behavior of HDPE Composite Reinforced with Silane Modified TiO_2显示文摘The composite of high density polyethylene reinforced with silane-modified TiO2 particles (silane-TiO2/HDPE) is a potential bone substitute biomaterial. The structure, bioactivity, and mechanical properties of silane-TiO2/HDPE are analogous to those of natural bone, correspondingly. In order to investigate the effect of silane connection and saline solution on fatigue behaviors, flexural fatigue tests with this composite were carried out in both air and saline solution. Saline solution was found to have different effect on fatigue life. In saline solution, the fatigue life could be improved at stress levels lower than 30 MPa, while the fatigue life could be reduced at stress levels higher than 30 MPa. After analyzing the fracture morphologies, different failure mechanisms were proposed, and the important role of silane connection in the composite during the fatigue process was discussed. Silane connection cannot only support the loading stress but also hinder the failure process under loading effectively. For dry specimens, no interfacial failure between the filler and matrix was found. For wet specimens, it is inferred that the synergetic effect of saline solution and high concentrated stress at high stress level could easily destroy the silane connection, which accelerated the fracture process, whereas the synergetic effect of saline solution and silane connection at low stress level could promote the formation of more microcracks on sample surface, which hindered the final fracture. | C.X. The hot corrosion behaviors of cast K38G alloy and its sputtered nanocrys-talline coating by pre-deposited 75wt%Na2SO4+25wt%K2SO4 at 900℃ were studied.The results indicated the occurrence of internal sulfidation in the cast K38G alloy withpre-deposited sulfattes of 0.8 and 3.0mg/cm2. However, the internal sulfidation wasnot observed in the coating with pre-deposited 0. 8mg/cm2 sulfate. The hot corrosionresistance of K38G alloy was clearly enhanced through nanocrystallinzation, althoughthe internal sulfides were still formed for the coating with sulfate deposit of 3mg/cm2.The relevant hot corrosion mechanism was also discussed. | S.J.
