1Numerical simulation of hydraulic fracturing and associated microseismicity using finite-discrete element method显示文摘Hydraulic fracturing(HF) technique has been extensively used for the exploitation of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. HF enhances the connectivity of less permeable oil and gas-bearing rock formations by fluid injection, which creates an interconnected fracture network and increases the hydrocarbon production. Meanwhile, microseismic(MS) monitoring is one of the most effective approaches to evaluate such stimulation process. In this paper, the combined finite-discrete element method(FDEM) is adopted to numerically simulate HF and associated MS. Several post-processing tools, including frequency-magnitude distribution(b-value), fractal dimension(D-value), and seismic events clustering,are utilized to interpret numerical results. A non-parametric clustering algorithm designed specifically for FDEM is used to reduce the mesh dependency and extract more realistic seismic information.Simulation results indicated that at the local scale, the HF process tends to propagate following the rock mass discontinuities; while at the reservoir scale, it tends to develop in the direction parallel to the maximum in-situ stress.Qi Zhao Andrea Lisjak Omid Mahabadi Qinya Liu Giovanni Grasselli 2014Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2014,6,6:8
2Spectral-Element andAdjointMethods in Seismology显示文摘We provide an introduction to the use of the spectral-elementmethod (SEM)in seismology. Following a brief review of the basic equations that govern seismicwave propagation, we discuss in some detail how these equations may be solved numericallybased upon the SEM to address the forward problem in seismology. Examplesof synthetic seismograms calculated based upon the SEM are compared to datarecorded by the Global Seismographic Network. Finally, we discuss the challenge ofusing the remaining differences between the data and the synthetic seismograms toconstrain better Earth models and source descriptions. 3Spectral-element simulations of elastic wave propagation in exploration and geotechnical applications显示文摘We apply the spectral-element method(SEM),a high-order finite-element method(FEM) to simulate seismic wave propagation in complex media for exploration and geotechnical problems. The SEM accurately treats geometrical complexities through its flexible FEM mesh and accurately interpolates wavefields through high-order Lagrange polynomials. It has been a numerical solver used extensively in earthquake seismology. We demonstrate the applicability of SEM for selected 2D exploration and geotechnical velocity models with an open-source SEM software package SPECFEM2D. The first scenario involves a marine survey for a salt dome with the presence of major internal discontinuities,and the second example simulates seismic wave propagation for an open-pit mine with complex surface topography. 6Target Extension-Activated DNA Walker on Nanoparticles for Digital Counting-Based Analysis of MicroRNA显示文摘MicroRNAs(miRNAs),especially exosomal miRNAs,are promising noninvasive biomarkers in early-stage cancer diagnosis and disease treatment monitoring.However,their precise and sensitive quantification remains challenging due to their small size and low abundance.Herein,we have developed a nanoparticle-confined DNA walker strategy for the specific detection of miRNA.In the existence of the target miRNA;the on-particle DNA walking reaction will be initiated,providing a fluorescence-positive nanoparticle.Otherwise,the nanoparticle would be fluorescence-negative.Utilizing the total internal reflection fluorescent microscope(TIRFM)to digitally count the fluorescence-positive nanoparticles,the proposed method possesses a detection limit of 0.2 pmol/L miRNA and can accurately distinguish the single-base mismatched target.This design combines the merits of the DNA walker for signal amplification and the TIRFM for highly sensitive detection,paving a new way for the digital counting-based analysis of exosomal miRNAs.Qinya Feng Yuqing Zhai Wei Ren Chenghui Liu 2021Chinese Journal of Chemistry2021,39,6:1
