A new Monte Carlo simulation of three-dimensional microstructures and their evolution in polycrystalline显示文摘A new Monte Carlo simulation method for studying three-dimensional microstructures as well as their evolution in polycrystalline materials has been set up. The algorithm is simple and flexible to apply. With the present method, kinetics of three-dimensional grain growth is accurately reflected and the simulation efficiency is greatly improved. The simulation can not only be used reliably to analyze quantitatively the microstructures and their evolution, but also be used conveniently to observe microstructures as well as their evolution on the horizontal section and the sections at any angle to the horizontal plane, to measure the characteristic parameters in three dimensions and cross-sections, together with their relationships between the two systems, and to many other aspects. | Xiaoyan Song Guoquan Liu Nanju Gu | 1999 | Chinese Science Bulletin1999,44,15: | 6
AFM quantitative analysis and determination of shear angle of {259}_f martensitic surface relief显示文摘An attentive observation and quantitative analysis of {259}f martensitic surface relief in an Fe-23Ni-0.55C alloy are made by means of an atomic force microscope (AFM), and different martensitic variants' shear angles are determined in this paper. The experiments show that {259}f martensitic surface relief exhibits regular shape in many cases, which is in agreement with the prediction of invariant plane strain (IPS). Generally, {259}f martensitic surface relief appears to be 'N'-shaped, but it is tent-shaped in the case of zigzag-shaped martensite. The compressed deformation of parent phase diminishes the surface relief in size but with little change of its relief angle. {259}f martensitic surface relief, large or small, has approximately the same relief angles, exhibiting a good 'self-similar fractal'. The determined values of different {259}f martensitic variants' shear angles are in fine agreement with the prediction of Wechsler-Liberman-Read (W-L-R) theory, with only a slight difference of less than 3.65°. | LIN Xiaoping, GU Nanju, ZHANG Yong, MENG Zhaowei and MA Xiaoli(Department of Materials Science and Technology, Hebei University of Technology, Tianjin 300130, China) | 2002 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2002,12,10: | 5
Improving on calculation of martensitic phenomenological theory显示文摘Exemplified by the martensitic transformation from DO3 to 18R in Cu-14.2Al-4.3Ni alloy and according to the principle that invariant-habit-plane can be obtained by self-accommodation between variants with twin relationships, and on the basis of displacement vector, volume fractions of two variants with twin relationships in martensitic transformation, habit-plane indexes, and orientation relationships between martensite and austenite after phase transformation can be calculated. Because no additional rotation matrixes are needed to be considered and mirror symmetric operations are used, the calculation process is simple and the results are accurate. | DONG Guixia , GU Nanju and WANG Baoqi(1. | 10 | Characteristics of Amorphous Mn_3AlC Phases Formed by Mechanical Milling显示文摘Amorphization of Mn carbides by rapid quenching method has been proved to be unsuccessful.By mechanical milling in the present work, amorphous phases have been formed in the perovskitetype Mn3AlC compound. The transformation process from crystalline to amorphous phase was found to be milling time controlled, and 10 h is a critical period for the macroscopically single amorphous phase to form. It has been clarified that the redistribution of C atoms is an instinctive factor for amorphous phase to nucleate, and the atomic configuration in the amorphous phase is changed much in longer milling that different crystallizing behaviours have been caused. With X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results, an atomic configuration transition model is considered for the structures of the amorphous phases changed during milling. | Fuxing YIN Nanju GU (Hebei Institute of Technology, Tianin 300132, China)T.Shigematsu N.Nakanishi(Faculty of Science, Konan University Kobe 658, Japan)Y.Osawa A.Sato(National Research Institute of Metals, Tsukuba 305, Japan) | 1997 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology1997,13,2: | 0

Effect of Austenite Pre-deformation on Isothermal Martensite Transformation in an Fe-20.5Ni-4.8Mn Alloy显示文摘With electron microscopy the investigation on isothermal martensite transformation in an Fe20.5Ni-4.8Mn alloy has been carried out to clarify the effect of austenite state on the transformation, by applying pre-deformation to austenite before isothermal holding. Under the condition without pre-deformation, the isothermal martensite products are lath martensite with {111}fhabit planes. Dislocations in austenite seem to contribute to nucleation of martensite, and in this nascent Stage austenite substructure has no obvious effect on martensite growth. The consequent thickening of martensite laths is apparently influenced by local austenite states, resulting in the changes in orientation, morphology as well as substructure of martensite lath. The kinetics of isothermal martensite transformation is controlled by intedece dislocation determined nucleation of martensite in primary stage, but to a larger extent, by the austenite accommodation for the shape strain of martensite in the thickening | Fuxing YIN Jianxin ZHANG and Nanju GU(Hebei Institute of Technology, Tianjin, 300132, China)Tsukio Tadaki(Institute of Science and Industrial Research, Osaka University, Japan)Ken,ichi Shimizu(Kanazawa Institute of Technology, Ishigawa 921, Japan) | 1995 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology1995,11,1: | 0
Structural Evolution of the Mn_(0.52)Sb_(0.48) Compound during High Energy Ball Milling显示文摘The structural transitions of the NiAs-type Mn0.52Sb0.48 magneto-ordered compound, ball milled to different periods, have been characterized by X-ray diffraction and DSC analysis. On the basis of lattice parameter results a structural evolution mode with three stages is proposed. In the first stage lattice parameters keep nearly unchanged with the refinement of grains and increase of lattice strain. In the second stage, microstrain shows a lowering tendency accompanying the successive decreases of grain size. The X-ray revealed internal strain is found to be strains inside the lattice, which can be relaxed with new grain formation. The change of Tc is shown to be affected by the dimension of c axis, however the overall magnetization is continuously decreased with milling, due to the disordering process occurred in milling. Correspondent disordering mechanisms have been tentatively postulated and discussed according to the changes of lattice para meters. | Fuxing YIn and Nanju GU (Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering, Hebei Institute of Technology, Tianjin 300130, China)T.Shigematsu and N.Naknishi (Dept. of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Konan University, Kobe 658, Japan)(To whom correspondence should | 1996 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology1996,12,6: | 0
Crossed Micro-bands in the Martensite Variant Pairs of a Thermomechanically Trained Cu-Zn-Al Alloy显示文摘The crossed micro-bands in the martensite variant pairs of a thermomechanically trained Cu25.66Zn-4.02Al (wt-%) alloy have been studied. It was found that the micro-bands pass through the interface from one martensite variant to another and their orientation inside different variants is distinct, which would remain in the parent phase after the reverse transformation and play an important role in the formation of preferential martensite. In fact, the crossed micro-bands are micro-twins for accommodating the stress fields generated during thermomechanically | Qingan ZHANG and Nanju GU (Hebei Institute of Technology Tianjin, 300130, China)(East China Institute of Metallurgy,Ma’anshan, 243002, China) | 1995 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology1995,11,6: | 0
EFFECT OF SELF-ACCOMMODATION FOR TWINNED MARTENSITE AND INVARIANT HABIT PLANE显示文摘The shear components of strain tensors for matrix and twin crystal of (?)winned martensite wereroughly opposite after calculation, and the strain energy would be reduced. The growth ofmartensitic plates along the normal direction of the twin plane may depend upon the effect ofself-accommodation between the matrix and twin crystals.Based upon the analysis on thedisplacement vectors of the normals for different habit planes,the{10,3,15}_f plane could formthe macroscopic invariant habit plane;but the(5(?)5)_f,(2(?)2)_f,and(1(?)1)_f planes aredifficult to become the invariant planes. | GU Nanju WANG Ruixiang YIN Fuxing Hebei Institute of Technology,Tianjin,China | 1991 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)1991,4,6: | 0
MORPHOLOGY OF MARTENSITE IN 7CrSiMnMoV STEEL AND ITS STRENGTH-TOUGHNESS显示文摘The morphology and substructure of martensites in 7CrS(?)MnMoV steel were observed underoptical or electron microscope, and martensitic transformation with its morphology was alsoanalysed. In the normally quenched steel three types of martensites are found, including thewide lath one of dislocation substructure formed preferentially along grain boundaries, thethinner inner laths and the twinning martensite plate in interior of grain. Therefore,an at-tempt was made to substitute lower bainite, formed by short-term isothermal quenching.forintergranular martensite,it is believed that the morphology would be very influential to thest(?)ength-toughness of the steel. | WANG Ruixiang GU Nanju YIN Fuxing Hebei Institute of Technology,Tianjin,China | 1991 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)1991,4,6: | 0
EFFECT OF TEMPERING IN PULSE MAGNETIC FIELD ON MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF HIGH SPEED STEEL显示文摘Using a self-made pulse magnetic field heat treatment equipment with low or medium intensi-ty,the tempering process of high speed steel W6Mo5Cr4V2 was investigated. It was foundthat the secondary hardening process and the transformation of retained austenite for the steelwere accelerated by the pulse magnetic field, and the tempering period could be reduced tohalf of the original. It was shown by the analyses of X-ray and eletron microscopy that theprecipitation of carbides becomes more homogeneous and dispersive, and the tetragonality ofmartensite increases obviousely, which causes the improvement of hardness and red-hardnessfor the steel. It was confirmed that the service life of tools as centre bits, screw taps andpunches for nuts could be increased by 0.4 to 1.4 times by the tempering in magnetic field. | XU Bojun GU Nanju YAN Dianran YIN Fuxing Hebei Institute of Technology,Tianjin,China GU Nanju Division of Heat Treatment,Hebei Institute of Technology,Tianjin 300132,China | 1990 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)1990,3,2: | 0
