| 1 | Treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection: Current and future insights显示文摘Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) is an important major cause of peptic ulcer disease and gastric malignancies such as mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma and gastric adenocarcinoma worldwide.H.pylori treatment still remains a challenge,since many determinants for successful therapy are involved such as individual primary or secondary antibiotics resistance,mucosal drug concentration,patient compliance,side-effect profile and cost.While no new drug has been developed,current therapy still relies on different mixture of known antibiotics and anti-secretory agents.A standard triple therapy consisting of two antibiotics and a proton-pump inhibitor proposed as the first-line regimen.Bismuthcontaining quadruple treatment,sequential treatment or a non-bismuth quadruple treatment(concomitant) are also an alternative therapy.Levofloxacin containing triple treatment are recommended as rescue treatment for infection of H.pylori after defeat of first-line therapy.The rapid acquisition of antibiotic resistance reduces the effectiveness of any regimens involving these remedies.Therefore,adding probiotic to the medications,developing anti-H.pylori photodynamic or phytomedicine therapy,and achieving a successful H.pylori vaccine may have the promising to present synergistic or additive consequence against H.pylori,because each of them exert different effects. | Maliheh Safavi Reyhaneh Sabourian Alireza Foroumadi | 2016 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2016,4,1: | 21 |
| 2 | Hydrophobic silica nanoparticle-stabilized invert emulsion as drilling fluid for deep drilling显示文摘An oil-based drilling fluid should be stable and tolerant to high temperatures for use in deep drilling. An invert emulsion of water in oil is a good choice as an oilbased drilling fluid which is a mixture of a solid phase and two immiscible liquid phases stabilized by a polymeric surfactant. In deep drilling, due to high temperatures, the polymeric surfactant degrades and a phase separation occurs. Here, octadecyltrimethoxysilane-modified silica nanoparticles were used to form a stable invert emulsion of water in oil for the drilling fluid model which resulted in a milky fluid with the formation of 60 μm water droplets. In addition, rheological study showed that using hydrophobic silica nanoparticles resulted in a stable water in oil invert emulsion with desired properties for a drilling fluid that can be modified by adjusting the nanoparticle nature and content. | 3 | Rat hair follicle stem cells differentiate and promote recovery following spinal cord injury显示文摘Emerging studies of treating spinal cord injury(SCI)with adult stem cells led us to evaluate the effects of transplantation of hair follicle stem cells in rats with a compression-induced spinal cord lesion.Here,we proposed a hypothesis that rat hair follicle stem cell transplantation can promote the recovery of injured spinal cord.Compression-induced spinal cord injury was induced in Wistar rats in this study.The bulge area of the rat vibrissa follicles was isolated,cultivated and characterized with nestin as a stem cell marker.5-Bromo-2′-deoxyuridine(BrdU)labeled bulge stem cells were transplanted into rats with spinal cord injury.Immunohistochemical staining results showed that some of the grafted cells could survive and differentiate into oligodendrocytes(receptor-interacting protein positive cells)and neuronal-like cells(βIII-tubulin positive cells)at 3 weeks after transplantation.In addition,recovery of hind limb locomotor function in spinal cord injury rats at 8 weeks following cell transplantation was assessed using the Basso,Beattie and Bresnahan(BBB)locomotor rating scale.The results demonstrate that the grafted hair follicle stem cells can survive for a long time period in vivo and differentiate into neuronal-and glial-like cells.These results suggest that hair follicle stem cells can promote the recovery of spinal cord injury. | Nowruz Najafzadeh Maliheh Nobakht Bagher Pourheydar Mohammad Ghasem Golmohammadi | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,36: | 6 |

| 6 | Predictors of readiness for discharge in mothers of preterm infants: The role of stress, self-efficacy and perceived social support显示文摘Objective:To determine the predictive role of stress,self-efficacy,and perceived social support on readiness for discharge in mothers of preterm infants.Methods:The present cross-sectional,descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 120 mothers of preterm infants admitted to hospitals affiliated to Lorestan University of Medical Sciences,Iran in 2019.Participants were selected by a convenience sampling method and based on inclusion criteria.Data collection tools included the demographic questionnaire of mothers and infants,parent perceptions of their child's hospital discharge,parental stressor scale:neonatal intensive care unit,perceived maternal parenting,and multidimensional scale of perceived social support.Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and stepwise regression at the significance level of 0.05.Results:Infant behavior and appearance,situational belief,and family support achieved the highest mean score from parents'stress,self-efficacy,and perceived social support dimensions,respectively.There was a significant relationship between stress,self-efficacy,and perceived social support with readiness for discharge in mothers of preterm infants(P<0.001).The score of mothers'readiness for discharge decreased by 0.07 per 1-point increase in stress score,and the score of readiness for discharge in mothers of preterm infants rose by 0.35 and 0.43,respectively,for a unit increase in the scores of self-efficacy and perceived social support.Conclusions:Stress,self-efficacy,and perceived social support can be considered as predictors of readiness for discharge in mothers of preterm infants.It is suggested that nurses in neonatal intensive care units provide a better platform for the readiness for discharge in mothers of preterm infants by reducing stressors and increasing maternal self-efficacy and social support. | Sedighe Valipour Fatemeh Estebsari Maliheh Nasiri Parvaneh Vasli | 2022 | Asian pacific Journal of Reproduction2022,11,6: | 1 |
| 7 | Adsorption of Cadmium and Zinc onto Micaceous Minerals:Effect of Siderophore Desferrioxamine B显示文摘The mobility,bioavailability,and environmental fate of heavy metals in soil are controlled by their adsorption onto soil minerals and solid organic matter.The adsorption is strongly affected by the presence of various low-molecular-weight organic acids.In this study,effect of hydroxamate siderophore desferrioxamine B (DFOB) on cadmium (Cd) and zinc (Zn) adsorption onto two micaceous clay minerals,muscovite and phlogopite,was evaluated in batch experiments.Results showed that the presence of DFOB diminished the adsorption of Cd and Zn onto both minerals,particularly under neutral to alkaline pH conditions.For instance,at pH 8.2,the presence of DFOB caused a decrease in the adsorption of Zn onto phlogopite by nearly 50%.The equilibrium adsorption of Cd and Zn was satisfactorily described using Freundlich isotherm.The adsorption isotherms showed that the affinity of Cd and Zn onto the minerals decreased in the presence of DFOB.For example,at pH 8.0,the presence of siderophore caused a decrease in the Freundlich adsorption isotherm coefficient KF for Zn adsorption onto muscovite and phlogopite from 4.60 to 0.07 L g^-1 and from 3.56 to 0.36 L g^-1,respectively.These findings confirm the potential influence of siderophore on the fate of Cd and Zn in arid soils containing substantial contributions of micaceous silicate minerals. | Mohsen HAMIDPOUR Maliheh KARAMOOZ Abdolreza AKHGAR TAJABADIPOUR Gerhard FURRER | 2019 | Pedosphere2019,29,5: | 1 |

| 20 | Contribution of mammalian target of rapamycin in the pathophysiology of cirrhotic cardiomyopathy显示文摘AIM: To explore the role of mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR) in the pathogenesis of cirrhotic cardiomyopathy and the potential of rapamycin to improve this pathologic condition.METHODS: Male albino Wistar rats weighing 100-120 g were treated with tetrachloride carbon(CCl_4) for 8 wk to induce cirrhosis. Subsequently, animals were administered rapamycin(2 mg/kg per day). The QT_c intervals were calculated in a 5-min electrocardiogram. Then, the left ventricular papillary muscles wereisolated to examine inotropic responsiveness to β-adrenergic stimulation using a standard organ bath equipped by Powerlab system. Phosphorylated-m TOR localization in left ventricles was immunohistochemically assessed, and ventricular tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α was measured. Western blot was used to measure levels of ventricular phosphorylated-m TOR protein.RESULTS: Cirrhosis was confirmed by hematoxylin and eosin staining of liver tissues, visual observation of lethargy, weight loss, jaundice, brown urine, ascites, liver stiffness, and a significant increase of spleen weight(P < 0.001). A significant prolongation in QTc intervals occurred in cirrhotic rats exposed to CCl_4(P < 0.001), while this prolongation was decreased with rapamycin treatment(P < 0.01). CCl_4-induced cirrhosis caused a significant decrease of contractile responsiveness to isoproterenol stimulation and a significant increase in cardiac TNF-α. These findings were correlated with data from western blot and immunohistochemical studies on phosphorylated-m TOR expression in left ventricles. Phosphorylated-m TOR was significantly enhanced in cirrhotic rats, especially in the endothelium, compared to controls. Rapamycin treatment significantly increased contractile force and myocardial localization of phosphorylated-m TOR and decreased cardiac TNF-α concentration compared to cirrhotic rats with no treatment. CONCLUSION: In this study, we demonstrated a potential role for cardiac m TOR in the pathophysiology of cirrhotic cardiomyopathy.
