| 2 | Spatial-temporal variation in soil respiration and its controlling factors in three steppes of Stipa L. in Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Grassland is the largest terrestrial ecosystem in China. It is of great significance to measure accurately the soil respiration of different grassland types for the contribution evaluation of the Chinese terrestrial ecosystem’s carbon emission to the atmospheric CO2 concentration. A three-year (2005-2007) field experiment was carried out on three steppes of Stipa L. in the Xilin River Basin, Inner Mongolia, China, using a static opaque chamber technique. The seasonal and interannual variations of soil respiration rates were analyzed, and the annual total soil respiration of the three steppes was estimated. The numerical models between soil respiration and water-heat factors were established respectively. Similar seasonal dynamic and high annual and interannual variations of soil respiration were found in all of the three steppes. In the growing season, the fluctuation of soil respiration was particularly evident. The coefficients of variation (CVs) for soil respiration in different growing seasons ranged from 54% to 93%, and the annual CVs were all above 115%. The interannual CV of soil respiration progressively decreased in the order of Stipa grandis (S. grandis) steppe > Stipa baicalensis (S. baicalensis) steppe > Stipa krylovii (S. krylovii) steppe. The annual total soil respiration for the S. baicalensis steppe was 223.62?299.24 gC m-2 a-1, 150.62-226.99 gC m-2 a-1 for the S. grandis steppe, and 111.31–131.55 gC m-2 a-1 for the S. krylovii steppe, which were consistent with the precipitation gradient. The variation in the best fitting temperature factor explained the 63.5%, 73.0%, and 73.2% change in soil respiration in the three steppes at an annual time scale, and the corresponding Q10 values were 2.16, 2.98, and 2.40, respectively. Moreover, the Q10 values that were calculated by soil temperature at different depths all expressed a 10 cm > 5 cm > surface in the three sampling sites. | 3 | Daily variation characteristics of CO2 emission fluxes and contributions of environmental factors in semiarid grassland of Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Fixed field experimental studies are carried out on daily variations of the undis- turbed community and soil respiration fluxes in different phenological phases of 2001―2002 in semiarid Aneurolepidium chinense steppe of Inner Mongolia, China using static black chamber method. Corresponding statistical analysis of the contributions of the water-heat factors (air temperature, ground temperature, surface soil water content) and ecological factors (above- ground biomass, underground biomass, litter biomass) to daily variation law of the undisturbed community and soil respiration fluxes as well as differences in daily respiration are also con- ducted. The results indicate that undisturbed community and soil respiration have apparent daily variation laws, daily variation patterns of respiration fluxes during different phenological phases are basically the same, and the variations of environmental factors only exert effect on CO2 emission intensities, while the effect on daily variation pattern of grassland CO2 emission fluxes is relatively small. The daily total respiration of the undisturbed community in different phenological phases ranges from 1.34―10.13 g·m?2; soil daily total respiration ranges from 0.98―5.17 g·m?2; both daily variations of undisturbed community and soil respiration fluxes are significantly corre- lated (p < 0.05) or extremely significantly correlated (p < 0.01) with air temperatures and ground surface temperatures, but the correlativity with the soil temperature at 5 and 10 cm depths is relatively weak; multiple regression analysis indicates that about 80% of the difference in daily respiration of the undisturbed community among different phenological phases is induced by the variation of the aboveground biomass, while the variations of the remaining factors can jointly explain around 20% of the daily respiration variations of the whole grassland ecosystem; about 83% of the soil daily respiration variation of the different phenological phases is caused by 0―20 cm underground biomass. | 4 | Suggestion for aircraft flying qualities requirements of a short-range air combat mission显示文摘Owing to the lack of a direct link with the operations in short-range air combat,conventional aircraft flying qualities criteria are inappropriate to guide the design of a task-tailored flight control law.By applying the mission-oriented flying qualities evaluation approach,various aircraft with different control law parameters are evaluated on a ground-based simulator.This paper compares the evaluation results with several conventional flying qualities criteria,and discusses the appropriate parameter combination to reflect the flying qualities requirements of short-range air combat.The comparison and analysis show that a short-range air combat mission requires a higher minimum short period mode natural frequency and a smaller maximum roll mode time constant,and allows a lower minimum pitch attitude bandwidth and a higher maximum short period mode damp ratio than those of conventional flying qualities criteria.Furthermore,a combination of the pitch attitude bandwidth,the pitch attitude magnitude at the bandwidth frequency,and the pitch attitude transfer function gain can define the flying qualities requirements of short-range air combat.The new metric can successfully predict the flying quality levels of aircraft in a short-range air combat mission. | Lixin WANG Youguang GUO Qi ZHANG Ting YUE | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,3: | 5 |
| 5 | Effects of ionic strength and temperature on the aggregation and deposition of multi-walled carbon nanotubes显示文摘The aggregation and deposition of carbon nanotubes(CNTs) determines their transport and fate in natural waters.Therefore,the aggregation kinetics of humic-acid treated multi-walled carbon nanotubes(HA-MWCNTs) was investigated by time-resolved dynamic light scattering in NaCl and CaCl_2 electrolyte solutions.Increased ionic strength induced HA-MWCNT aggregation due to the less negative zeta potential and the reduced electrostatic repulsion.The critical coagulation concentration(CCC) values of HA-MWCNTs were 80 mmol/L in NaCl and 1.3 mmol/L in CaCl_2 electrolyte,showing that Ca^(2+) causes more serious aggregation than Na^+.The aggregation behavior of HA-MWCNTs was consistent with Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek theory.The deposition kinetics of HA-MWCNTs was measured by the optical absorbance at 800 ran.The critical deposition concentrations for HA-MWCNT in NaCl and CaCl_2 solutions were close to the CCC values,therefore the rate of deposition cannot be increased by changing the ionic strength in the diffusion-limited aggregation regime.The deposition process was correlated to the aggregation since larger aggregates increased gravitational deposition and decreased random Brownian diffusion.HA-MWCNTs hydrodynamic diameters were evaluated at 5,15 and 25℃.Higher temperature caused faster aggregation due to the reduced electrostatic repulsion and increased random Brownian motion and collision frequency.HA-MWCNTs aggregate faster at higher temperature in either NaCl or CaCl_2electrolyte due to the decreased electrostatic repulsion and increased random Brownian motion.Our results suggest that CNT aggregation and deposition are two correlated processes governed by the electrolyte,and CNT transport is favored at low ionic strength and low temperature. | Lixin Wang Xuezhi Yang Qi Wang Yuxuan Zeng Lei Ding Wei Jiang | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1: | 5 |
| 6 | DMP1 prevents osteocyte alterations,FGF23 elevation and left ventricular hypertrophy in mice with chronic kidney disease显示文摘During chronic kidney disease (CKD),alterations in bone and mineral metabolism include increased production of the hormone fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) that may contribute to cardiovascular mortality.The osteocyte protein dentin matrix protein 1 (DMP1) reduces FGF23 and enhances bone mineralization,but its effects in CKD are unknown.We tested the hypothesis that DMP1 supplementation in CKD would improve bone health,prevent FGF23 elevations and minimize consequent adverse cardiovascular outcomes.We investigated DMP1 regulation and effects in wild-type (WT) mice and the Col4a3^-/- mouse model of CKD.Col4a3^-/- mice demonstrated impaired kidney function,reduced bone DMP1 expression,reduced bone mass,altered osteocyte morphology and connectivity,increased osteocyte apoptosis,increased serum FGF23,hyperphosphatemia,left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH),and reduced survival.Genetic or pharmacological supplementation of DMP1 in Col4a3^-/- mice prevented osteocyte apoptosis,preserved osteocyte networks,corrected bone mass,partially lowered FGF23 levels by attenuating NFAT-induced FGF23 transcription,and further increased serum phosphate.Despite impaired kidney function and worsened hyperphosphatemia,DMP1 prevented development of LVH and improved Col4a3^-/- survival.Our data suggest that CKD reduces DMP1 expression,whereas its restoration represents a potential therapeutic approach to lower FGF23 and improve bone and cardiac health in CKD. | Corey Dussold Claire Gerber Samantha White Xueyan Wang Lixin Qi Connor Francis Maralee Capella Guillaume Courbon Jingya Wang Chaoyuan Li Jian Q. | 8 | Salt-related structure and deformation mechanism of the Middle-Lower Cambrian in the middle-west parts of the Central Uplift and adjacent areas of the Tarim Basin显示文摘The salt beds of the Middle-Lower Cambrian are widespread in the middle-west parts of the Central Uplift and adjacent areas, the Tarim Basin. This paper presents the results of seismic interpretation and drilling data analysis, which discovered that the salt beds were formed in an old geologic age, deeply buried, with relatively small scaled flowing and gathering and uneven distribution. As the regional detachment layers, the salt sequences considerably control the structural deformation of the up-salt Paleozoic, forming a series of hydrocarbon traps. In due course, the salt beds of the Middle-Lower Cambrian provide excellent cap rocks and trap conditions; thus the value of exploring hydrocabon reservoir in the target strata of the sub-salt Sinian- Cambrian is greatly increased. Research has shown that the salt-related structures of the Middle-Lower Cambrian in the area mainly exist in the form of salt pillow, salt roller, up-salt anticline, salt diapir, assemblage of the salt arch and up-salt fault-block, assemblage of basement fault and salt anticline, assemblage of the basement fault-block and salt dome, assemblage of salt detachment and fault-related fold, and assemblage of basement fault-block, salt arch and up-salt imbricated thrusts. The evolution and deformation mechanisms of the salt-related structures are controlled largely by basement faulting, compressional shortening, plastic flowing and gathering, superstratum gravitation, and up-salt faulting and detaching. | 10 | Suggested closed-loop response characteristics for tanker in aerial refueling via mission-oriented evaluation显示文摘The flight control law design for tanker should ensure that the closed-loop response can meet the aerial refueling mission requirements. In order to reveal the movement characteristics of the tanker and the handling characteristics of the pilot in aerial refueling, the flight path capture and hold under gust disturbance task is designed as the demonstration maneuver mission to evaluate the flying qualities for tanker in aerial refueling task, which is based on the design requirements of maneuvering tasks used in mission-oriented flying qualities assessment. By analyzing the flight path tracking and holding requirements of the tanker in aerial refueling mission, the relevant parameters that reflect the response characteristics of the tanker in pitch and roll axes are put forward. The ground flight simulation test based on mission-oriented flight quality assessment is conducted, and the test pilot's assessment results based on Cooper-Harper rating and PIO scales are obtained for different flight control law configurations. | 12 | Extratropical Transition and Re-Intensification of Typhoon Toraji(2001):Large-Scale Circulations, Structural Characteristics, and Mechanism Analysis显示文摘With the use of data from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction Climate Forecast System Reanalysis,the environment and structure of typhoon Toraji(2001)are investigated during the re-intensification(RI)stage of its extratropical transition(ET),a process in which a tropical cyclone transforms into an extratropical or mid-latitude cyclone.The results provide detailed insight into the ET system and identify the specific features of the system,including wind field,a cold and dry intrusion,and a frontal structure in the RI stage.The irrotational wind provides the values of upper-and lower-level jets within the transitioning tropical cyclone and the cyclone over Shandong Peninsula,accompanied with the reduced radius of maximum surface winds around the cyclone center in the lower troposphere.Simultaneously,dry air intrusion enhances the formation of fronts and leads to strong potential instability in the southwest and northeast quadrants.The distribution of frontogenesis shows that the tilting term associated with vertical motion dominates the positive frontogenesis surrounding the cyclone center,especially in the RI stage.The diagnostics of the kinetic energy budget suggest that the divergent kinetic energy generation whose time evolution corresponds well to that of cyclone center pressure is the primary factor for the development of Toraji in the lower troposphere.The ET of Toraji is a compound pattern that contains a development similar to that of a B-type extratropical cyclone within the maintaining phase and an A-type extratropical cyclone within the strengthening period,which corresponds to the distribution of the E-P fluxes with vertically downward propagation in the maintaining stage and upwards momentum in the strengthening phase. | ZHU XiANDe WU Lixin WANG Qi | 2018 | Journal of Ocean University of China2018,17,3: | 1 |
