| 3 | Study on degradation kinetics of epalrestat in aqueous solutions and characterization of its major degradation products under stress degradation conditions by UHPLC-PDA-MS/MS显示文摘Drug stability is closely related to drug safety and needs to be considered in the process of drug production,package and storage.To investigate the stability of epalrestat,a carboxylic acid derivative,a reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography(RP-HPLC)method was developed in this study and applied to analyzing the degradation kinetics of epalrestat in aqueous solutions in various conditions,such as different pH,temperatures,ionic strengths,oxidation and irradiation.The calibration curve was A=1.6×10^5C–1.3×10^3(r=0.999)with the liner range of 0.5–24μg/mL,the intra-day and inter-day precision was less than 2.0%,as was the repeatibility.The average accuracy for different concentrations was more than 98.5%,indicating that perfect recoveries were achieved.Degradation kinetic parameters such as degradation rate constants(k),activation energy(Ea)and shelf life(t0.9)under different conditions were calculated and discussed.The results indicated that the degradation behavior of epalrestat was pH-dependent and the stability of epalrestat decreased with the rised irradiation and ionic strength;however,it was more stable in neutral and alkaline conditions as well as lower temperatures.The results showed that the degradation kinetics of epalrestat followed first-order reaction kinetics.Furthermore,the degradation products of epalrestat under stress conditions were identified by UHPLC-PDA-MS/MS,with seven degradation products being detected and four of them being tentatively identified. | Hong Sun Suyan Liu Xun Gao Zhili Xiong Zhonggui He Longshan Zhao | 2019 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2019,9,6: | 1 |

| 5 | The Preliminary Report of Epikeratophakia in the Treatment of Pediatric Aphakia after Traumatic Cataract Extraction显示文摘Purpose: To study the role of epikeratophakia in treating pediatric unilateral aphakia after traumatic cataract extraction.Methods: We performed epikeratophakia in 43 children to treat aphakia after traumatic cataract extraction, using the corneal lenses made by ourselves. The rehabilitation of the the postoperative vision and the prevention of amblyopia were observed with a mean follow-up period of 20 months.Results: All the lenses remained transparent. Postoperatively, 31 cases (72. 1%) achieved uncorrected visual acuities (V. A) over 0. 2, 32 cases (74. 4%) achieved corrected V. A over 0. 4. Most of the cases achieved the best preoperative corrected V. A with spectacles of less than 3 diopters. No severe complication occurred. Conclusion: Epikeratophakia is predictable with quality lens and correct surgical technique. The result suggests that the epikeratophakia is one of the best treatment for the pediatric aphakia especially for those who are not optimal for IOL implantation. | 6 | Otolith Microstructure Analysis Reveals Different Growth Histories of Japanese Sardine (Sardinops melanostictus) in the Oyashio Waters显示文摘After decades of low year classes,the stock of Japanese sardine(Sardinops melanostictus)has begun to recover since the mid-2000s.The hatch dates and otolith growth rates of age-0 juvenile sardine,which were collected in the subarctic Oyashio waters in autumn 2018,were determined from an otolith microstructure analysis.The sardines were hatched from late January to late April,while mostly in February and March.The otolith growth rate increased continuously up to 60 d after hatching and thereafter de-creased.The revealed growth rate in a crucial growth period is faster than that reported for juvenile sardines collected in the 1990s,which is coincided with the recent recovery trend of the sardine stock.Two groups with different hatch dates,growth histories,and migration routes were identified using unsupervised random forest clustering analysis.They were considered inshore and offshore migration individuals in accordance with recent researches.In the offshore group,a high proportion of sardine juveniles hatched late and grew faster in the Kuroshio-Oyashio transitional waters,a finding consistent with the hypothesis of growth-rate-dependent re-cruitment.This finding on the population composition and growth rate of juvenile sardine in the Oyashio waters can be a basis for an improved prediction of their survival and provides us with valuable information on the recruitment processes of this stock during the period of stock recovery. | LIU Chunlin ZHANG Chi TIAN Yongjun WANG Liangming LIN Longshan LI Yuan WATANABE Yoshiro | 2022 | Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,1: | 0 |

| 8 | Potential anticancer activity analysis of piscidin 5-like from Larimichthys crocea显示文摘Antitumor activity is one characteristic function of some certain antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)found in recent years.In the present study,we attempted to detect potential anticancer activity of a recombinant piscidin 5-like from Larimichthys crocea(r Lc-P5L)which owned widely antibacterial and strong antiparasitic activity in vitro.The light microscope observation indicated r Lc-P5L was of antitumor activity to He La cells,293 T cells and L929 cells.MTT assay showed the toxic sensitivity of r Lc-P5L to three tumor cell strains was 293 T>L929>He La.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)results showed r Lc-P5L behaved like a lytic peptide to cause damage on cells membrane of L929 cells by forming globular clusters,even pores at 60μmol/L,or degrading membrane to make it completely lose cytoskeleton structure at 80μmol/L;r Lc-P5L treatment also resulted in DNA degradation.Fluorescence observation results indicated r Lc-P5L could cause L929 cells at least two obvious changes:one is nucleus,nuclear chromatin condensed in the margin,nuclear volume became smaller and shrank to be out of shape,or lysed to be debris;the other is cytoskeleton,they became disordered and polarized to make cells atrophic shapes,or even lysed to be debris.In summary,r Lc-P5L owned potential anticancer activity causing membrane structure damage and genome DNA degradation.Interestingly,treatment with different concentration of r Lc-P5L seemingly caused the similar but different changes,whether it indeed gave rise to cancer cells diverse death way,the further studies should be performed,and the detailed mechanisms were still need further explored. | Libing Zheng Jiayin Qiu Huihui Liu Changfeng Chi Longshan Lin | 2022 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,3: | 0 |
| 9 | Early life history traits of chub mackerel Scomber japonicus in the Oyashio water revealed by otolith microstructure显示文摘Information on survival and growth during the early life stage is essential to understand the mechanism of interannual variations in fish recruitment.Chub mackerel Scomber japonicus is a commercially important pelagic fish widely distributed in the northwestern Pacific.Its catch showed large fluctuations with changes in distribution and migration under climate change and strong fishing.We determined the hatch dates and growth rates of young-of-the-year of chub mackerel through otolith microstructure using samples collected in the Oyashio water in autumn 2018.Results show that the ages of young chub mackerel ranged between 120 and 180 d,and the estimated hatch date lasted from midJanuary to late May with a peak from mid-March to mid-April.Average otolith daily increment width during the early life stages(from hatching to 25 d)showed an increasing trend.Chub mackerel grows slowly in the first 10 d,and then grows faster during the 10thto 25thd.Three groups with dissimilar growth histories and migration routes were identified using unsupervised random forest clustering analysis,but all eventually converge on the same nursery ground.The faster growth of young-of-the-year chub mackerel leads to better recruitment due to the hypothesis of growth-dependent mortality.Most chub mackerels hatched in March and April,the spawning period is longer and earlier,which could lead to strong year classes.These findings on population composition and life history traits of young-of-the-year of chub mackerel provide valuable information on its recruitment processes during the period of stock recovery. | Xiaolu LI Chi ZHANG Yongjun TIAN Longshan LIN Shigang LIU | 2023 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2023,41,6: | 0 |
| 10 | Levels and patterns of genetic variation in Pampus minor:Assessment of a mitochondrial DNA control region sequence显示文摘Pampus minor is an important commercial fish.Due to the similarity of external morphological characteristics among the genus Pampus species,P.minor has often been identified as the juvenile group of both P.cinereus and P.argenteus.While little genetic background on this species is known,this study was based on control region sequences and provided the first evaluation of the genetic signature of 264 individuals of P.minor from 11 populations along the coasts of China and Malaysia.The results indicate high genetic haplotype diversity and low nucleotide diversity in this species.Additionally,two differentiated haplotype lineages were identified in the P.minor populations.However,phylogenetic structures corresponding to the geographical locations were unable to be established.Analysis of molecular variance identified a vast majority of the genetic variation occurring within populations.F-statistic test value(FST)of pairwise indicated that great differences existed between the Chinese and Malaysian P.minor populations.For the Chinese populations,the genetic differences were insignificant with the exception of the Xiamen population,which is a marginal population.During the late Pleistocene,a population expansion of P.minor occurred.These expanded populations originated from the glacial refugium in the South China Sea and then rapidly occupied and adapted to their new habitat.The results of this study provide genetic information for ensuring the protection and management of P.minor resources. | Yuan Li Liyan Zhang ling Zhang Cheng Liu Longshan Lin | 2021 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2021,40,4: | 0 |
