| 2 | Citron C-05 inhibits both the penetration and colonization of Xanthomonas citri subsp.citri to achieve resistance to citrus canker disease显示文摘Citrus canker,caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp.citri(Xcc),is a serious bacterial disease that affects citrus production worldwide.Citron C-05(Citrus medica)is the only germplasm in the Citrus genus that has been identified to exhibit strong resistance to Xcc.However,it has not been determined when,where,and how Xcc is restricted in the tissues of Citron C-05 during the infection process.In the present study,we investigated the spatiotemporal growth dynamics of an eGFP-labeled virulent Xcc(eGFP-Xcc)strain in Citron C-05 along with five susceptible biotypes(i.e.,lemon,pummelo,sour orange,sweet orange,and ponkan mandarin)upon inoculation via the spraying or leaf infiltration of a bacterial suspension.The results from extensive confocal laser scanning microscopy analyses showed that while Xcc grew rapidly in plants of all five susceptible genotypes,Xcc was severely restricted in the epidermal and mesophyll cell layers of the leaves of Citron C-05 in the early stage of infection.Not surprisingly,resistance against Xcc in Citron C-05 was found to be associated with the production of reactive oxygen species and hypersensitive response-like cell death,as well as greater upregulation of several defense-related genes,including a pathogenesis-related gene(PR1)and a glutathione S-transferase gene(GST1),compared with sweet orange as a susceptible control.Taken together,our results not only provide further valuable details of the spatiotemporal dynamics of the host entry,propagation,and spread of Xcc in both resistant and susceptible citrus plants but also suggest that resistance to Xcc in Citron C-05 may be attributed to the activation of multiple defense mechanisms. | Hongyan Fu Mingming Zhao Jing Xu Limei Tan Jian Han Dazhi Li Meijun Wang Shunyuan Xiao Xianfeng Ma Ziniu Deng | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Design and test of the key components for a combing-type tobacco harvester显示文摘In response to the problems of low efficiency,high labor intensity,and low mechanization in manual tobacco harvesting,a comb-off tobacco picking device for southern hilly tobacco areas was designed following the agronomic requirements and the principle of manual picking of tobacco harvesting in southern China.The device was composed of the power chassis,picking mechanism,and storage mechanism.This study involved the theoretical analysis,structural design,and modeling of the key components,such as chassis structure,combing-type picking mechanism,and power synchronization mechanism.The results of the motion analysis and calculation of the picking process demonstrated that the adjustment range of the comb chain elevation angles was from 12.4°to 20.9°,the comb rod installation distance was 76.2 mm,and the synchronizing mechanism transmission ratio was 3:10.One-factor test and three-factor three-level orthogonal test was performed with the forward speed of the chassis,the distance between the picking device baffles and the elevation angle of the chain with the combing bar as test factors,and the rate of broken and missed tobacco picking as evaluation indicators.It was revealed that the optimal combination of the forward speed of the chassis,the distance between the baffles,and the chain elevation angle were 1.5 km/h,75 mm,and 12.4°,respectively.Moreover,verification tests suggested that the breakage rate of tobacco leaves was 9.99%,and the probability of missed tobacco picking was 7.31%,both of which satisfy the agriculture requirements and the operational requirements in the agricultural machinery certification syllabus. | Chaoran Sun Shaohui Tan Songling Sun Mingtao Xiao Limei Chen Wenke Ai Zhihua Qiu Ping Jiang Yang He | 2024 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2024,17,1: | 0 |

| 10 | A Model to Evaluate the Device-Level Performance of Thermoelectric Cooler with Thomson Effect Considered显示文摘In this paper,a one-dimensional thermodynamic model was developed to evaluate the device-level performance of thermoelectric cooler(TEC)with the Thomson effect,contact resistance,gap heat leakage,heat sink,and heat load taken into account.The model was generalized and simplified by introducing dimensionless parameters.Experimental measurements showed good agreement with analytical results.The parametric analysis indicated that the influence of the Thomson effect on cooling capacity continued to expand with increasing current,while the effect on COP hardly changed with current.Low thermal contact resistance was beneficial to obtain lower hot-junction temperature,which can even reduce 2 K compared with the electrical contact resistance in the case study.The gap heat leakage was a negative factor affecting the cooling performance.When the thermal resistance of the heat sink was small,the negative effect of heat leakage on performance would be further enlarged.The enhancement of heat load temperature would increase the cooling power of the TEC.For example,an increase of 5 K in heat load can increase the cooling capacity by about 4%.However,once the current exceeded the optimum value,the raising effect on the cooling power would be weakened.The research can provide an analytical approach for the designer to perform trade studies to optimize the TEC system. | GONG Tingrui GAO Lei WU Yongjia TAN Haoshu QIN Feng XIN Xiong SHEN Limei LI Juntao MING Tingzhen | 2022 | Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,3: | 0 |
