Leaching ion adsorption rare earth by aluminum sulfate for increasing efficiency and lowering the environmental impact显示文摘The leaching efficiency(LE) of ion adsorption rare earth(IARE) by the sulfate and chloride of ammonium, magnesium and aluminum were comparatively determined using column leaching method. It is found that at equal equivalent concentration of cation, the LE of IARE by aluminum sulfate is the highest, and the zeta potential of clay mineral particles in the tailing is near to zero, which means a lower risk of landslide and pollutant emission. Furthermore, the optimum concentration of aluminum sulfate is determined to be0.02 mol/L, which is much lower than that of ammonium sulfate and magnesium sulfate. To reduce the production cost and environmental impact, we proposed a multi-stage leaching process, which was firstly leaching with ammonium sulfate and then with aluminum sulfate, following by water washing and lime neutralizing. With the ratio of ammonium sulfate to aluminum sulfate varying from 1:0 to 0.5:0.5, the residual ammonium in tailing decreases from 11.2% to 0.6%, however, the LE of RE shows an optimum value at 0.8:0.2. By neutralizing the pH of tailing with lime water to over 6, the ion concentration in water rinsing solution can meet the requirement for water discharge. At the same time, the zeta potential of clay particles is found to be around-5 mV, means a relatively lower risk of landslide. These facts indicate that the LE of IARE can be increased and the danger caused by tailings landslides and pollutant emissions can be reduced by replacing ammonium sulfate with aluminum sulfate as leaching reagent. | Lifen Yang Cuicui Li Dashan Wang Fengyang Li Yanzhu Liu Xuezhen Zhou Mingbiao Liu Xiufeng Wang Yongxiu Li | 2019 | Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,4: | 19
Blockade of Tim-3 Pathway Ameliorates Interferon-γ Production from Hepatic CD8^+ T Cells in a Mouse Model of Hepatitis B Virus Infection显示文摘T cell immunoglobulin-and mucin-domain-containing molecule-3(Tim-3) has been reported to participate in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases. However, whether Tim-3 is involved in hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection remains unknown. Here,we studied the expression and function of Tim-3 in a hydrodynamics-based mouse model of HBV infection. A significant increase of Tim-3 expression on hepatic T lymphocytes, especially on CD8+ T cells, was demonstrated in HBV model mice from day 7 to day 18. After Tim-3 knockdown by specific shRNAs,significantly increased IFN-γ production from hepatic CD8+ T cells in HBV model mice was observed. Very interestingly,we found Tim-3 expression on CD8+ T cells was higher in HBV model mice with higher serum anti-HBs production. Moreover,Tim-3 knockdown influenced anti-HBs production in vivo. Collectively, our data suggested that Tim-3 might act as a potent regulator of antiviral T-cell responses in HBV infection. | Ying Ju Nan Hou Xiaoning Zhang Di Zhao Ying Liu Jinjin Wang Fang Luan Wei Shi Faliang Zhu Wensheng Sun Lining Zhang Chengjiang Gao Lifen Gao Xiaohong Liang Chunhong Ma | 2009 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2009,6,1: | 19
Effects of COD/N ratio and DO concentration on simultaneous nitrification and denitrification in an airlift internal circulation membrane bioreactor显示文摘The effects of chemical oxygen demand and nitrogen(COD/N)ratio and dissolved oxygen concentration(DO)on simultaneous nitrification and denitrification(SND)were investigated using an airlift internal circulation membrane bioreactor(AIC-MBR)with synthetic wastewater. The results showed that the COD efficiencies were consistently greater than 90% regardless of changes in the COD/N ratio. At the COD/N ratio of 4.77 and 10.04,the system nitrogen removal efficiency became higher than 70%.However,the nitrogen rem... | Meng Qingjuan Yang Fenglin Liu Lifen Meng Fangang | 2008 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,8: | 18
Radiomics approach for preoperative identification of stages Ⅰ-Ⅱand Ⅲ-Ⅳ of esophageal cancer显示文摘Objective: To predict preoperative staging using a radiomics approach based on computed tomography(CT)images of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods: This retrospective study included 154 patients(primary cohort: n=114; validation cohort: n=40) with pathologically confirmed ESCC. All patients underwent a preoperative CT scan from the neck to abdomen. High throughput and quantitative radiomics features were extracted from the CT images for each patient. A radiomics signature was constructed using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(Lasso). Associations between radiomics signature, tumor volume and ESCC staging were explored. Diagnostic performance of radiomics approach and tumor volume for discriminating between stages Ⅰ-Ⅱ and Ⅲ-Ⅳ was evaluated and compared using the receiver operating characteristics(ROC) curves and net reclassification improvement(NRI).Results: A total of 9,790 radiomics features were extracted. Ten features were selected to build a radiomics signature after feature dimension reduction. The radiomics signature was significantly associated with ESCC staging(P<0.001), and yielded a better performance for discrimination of early and advanced stage ESCC compared to tumor volume in both the primary [area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC): 0.795 vs. 0.694,P=0.003; NRI=0.424)] and validation cohorts(AUC: 0.762 vs. 0.624, P=0.035; NRI=0.834).Conclusions: The quantitative approach has the potential to identify stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ and Ⅲ-Ⅳ ESCC before treatment. | Lei WU Cong Wang Xianzheng Tan Zixuan Cheng Ke Zhao Lifen Yan Yanli Liang Zaiyi Liu Changhong Liang | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,4: | 14
Expression and Function of Zinc-α2-Glycoprotein显示文摘Zinc-α2-glycoprotein(ZAG), encoded by the AZGP1 gene, is a major histocompatibility complex I molecule and a lipid-mobilizing factor. ZAG has been demonstrated to promote lipid metabolism and glucose utilization, and to regulate insulin sensitivity. Apart from adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, liver, and kidney, ZAG also occurs in brain tissue, but its distribution in brain is debatable. Only a few studies have investigated ZAG in the brain. It has been found in the brains of patients with Krabbe disease and epilepsy, and in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with Alzheimer disease, frontotemporal lobe dementia, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Both ZAG protein and AZGP1 m RNA are decreased in epilepsy patients and animal models, while overexpression of ZAG suppresses seizure and epileptic discharges in animal models of epilepsy, but knowledge of the specific mechanism of ZAG in epilepsy is limited. In this review, we summarize the known roles and molecular mechanisms of ZAG in lipid metabolism and glucose metabolism, and in the regulation of insulin sensitivity, and discuss the possible mechanisms by which it suppresses epilepsy. | Xin Wei Xi Liu Changhong Tan Lijuan Mo Hui Wang Xi Peng Fen Deng Lifen Chen | 2019 | Neuroscience Bulletin2019,35,3: | 14
Recent developments in nanofiltration membranes based on nanomaterials显示文摘Nanofiltration membranes are the core elements for nanofiltration process. The chemical structures and physical properties of nanofiltration membranes determine water permeability, solute selectivity, mechanical/thermal stability, and antifouling properties, which greatly influence the separation efficiency and operation cost in nanofiltration applications. In recent years, a great progress has been made in the development of high performance nanofiltration membranes based on nanomaterials. Considering the increasing interest in this field, this paper reviews the recent studies on the nanofiltration membranes comprising various nanomaterials, including the metal and metal oxide nanoparticles, carbon-based nanomaterials, metal–organic frameworks(MOFs), water channel proteins, and organic micro/nanoparticles. Finally, a perspective is given on the further exploitation of advanced nanomaterials and novel strategy for fabricating nano-based nanofiltration membranes. Moreover, the development of precision instruments and simulation techniques is necessary for the characterization of membrane microstructure and investigation of the separation and antifouling mechanism of nanofiltration membranes prepared with nanomaterials. | Yanli Ji Weijie Qian Yawei Yu Quanfu An Lifen Liu Yong Zhou Congjie Gao | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,11: | 12

Increased Tim-3 expression alleviates liver injury by regulating macrophage activation in MCD-induced NASH mice显示文摘As an immune checkpoint,Tim-3 plays roles in the regulation of both adaptive and innate immune cells including macrophages and is greatly involved in chronic liver diseases. However, the precise roles of Tim-3 in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)remain unstated. In the current study,we analyzed Tim-3 expression on different subpopulations of liver macrophages and further investigated the potential roles of Tim-3 on hepatic macrophages in methionine and choline-deficient diet(MCD)-induced NASH mice. The results of flow cytometry demonstrated the significantly increased expression of Tim-3 on all detected liver macrophage subsets in MCD mice, including F4/80^(+)CD11b^(+),F4/80^(+)CD68^(+),and F4/80^(+)CD169^(+)macrophages.Remarkably,Tim-3 knockout(KO)significantly accelerated MCD-induced liver steatosis, displaying higher serum ALT,larger hepatic vacuolation, more liver lipid deposition, and more severe liver fibrosis. Moreover, compared with wild-type C57BL/6 mice,Tim-3 KO MCD mice demonstrated an enhanced expression of NOX2,NLRP3,and caspase-1 p20 together with increased generation of IL-1βand IL-18 in livers. In vitro studies demonstrated that Tim-3 negatively regulated the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS)and related downstream pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion of IL-1βand IL-18 in macrophages.Exogenous administration of N-Acetyl-L-cysteine(NAC),a small molecular inhibitor of ROS,remarkably suppressed caspase-1 p20 expression and IL-1βand IL-18 production in livers of Tim-3 KO mice, thus significantly reducing the severity of steatohepatitis induced by MCD.In conclusion,Tim-3 is a promising protector in MCD-induced steatohepatitis by controlling ROS and the associated pro-inflammatory cytokine production in macrophages. | Xianhong Du Zhuanchang Wu Yong Xu Yuan Liu Wen Liu Tixiao Wang Chunyang Li Cuijuan Zhang Fan Yi Lifen Gao Xiaohong Liang Chunhong Ma | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,11: | 9

Seasonal variations of soil bacterial communities in Suaeda wetland of Shuangtaizi River estuary, Northeast China显示文摘Estuarine wetland is the transitional interface linking terrestrial with marine ecosystems, and wetland microbes are crucial to the biogeochemical cycles of nutrients. The soil samples were collected in four seasons(spring,S1;summer,S2;autumn,S3;and winter,S4)from Suaeda wetland of Shuangtaizi River estuary,Northeast China, and the variations of bacterial community were evaluated by high-throughput sequencing.Soil properties presented a significant seasonal change, including p H,carbon(C)and total nitrogen(TN),and the microbial diversity, richness and structure also differed with seasons.Canonical correspondence analysis(CCA)and Mantel tests implied that soil p H,C and TN were the key factors structuring the microbial community.Gillisia(belonging to Bacteroidetes)and Woeseia(affiliating with Gammaproteobacteria)were the two primary components in the rhizosphere soils, displaying opposite variations with seasons.Based on PICRUSt(Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States)prediction, the xenobiotics biodegradation related genes exhibited a seasonal decline, while the majority of biomarker genes involved in nitrogen cycle showed an ascending trend. These findings could advance the understanding of rhizosphere microbiota of Suaeda in estuarine wetland. | Xuwang Zhang Zhe Ji Yating Shao Chaochen Guo Hao Zhou Lifen Liu Yuanyuan Qu | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,11: | 4
A green route to synthesize low-cost and high-performance hard carbon as promising sodium-ion battery anodes from sorghum stalk waste显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) have been considered to be potential candidates for next-generation low-cost energy storage systems due to the low-cost and abundance of Na resources. However, it is a big challenge to find suitable anode materials with low-cost and good performance for the application of SIBs. Hard carbon could be a promising anode material due to high capacity and expectable low-cost if originating from biomass. Herein, we report a hard carbon material derived from abundant and abandoned biomass of sorghum stalk through a simple carbonization method. The effects of carbonization temperature on microstructure and electrochemical performance are investigated. The hard carbon carbonized at 1300 ℃ delivers the best rate capability(172 mAh g^(-1) at 200 mA g^(-1)) and good cycling performance(245 mAh g^(-1) after 50 cycles at 20 mA g^(-1),96% capacity retention). This contribution provides a green route for transforming sorghum stalk waste into 'treasure'of promising low-cost anode material for SIBs. | Xiaoming Zhu Xiaoyu Jiang Xiaoling Liu Lifen Xiao Yuliang Cao | 2017 | Green Energy & Environment2017,2,3: | 4
Factor analysis of earthquake-induced geological disasters of the M7.0 Lushan earthquake in China显示文摘The seismic intensities, lithologic characteristics and terrain features from a 3000 km2-region near the epicenter of the Lushan earthquake are used to analyze earthquake-induced geological disaster. The preliminary results indicate that secondary effects of the earthquake will affect specific areas, including those with glutenite and carbonate bedrock,a seismic intensity of IX,slopes between 40° and 50°,elevations of less than 2500 m,slope change rates between 20° and 30°,slope curvatures from-1 to-0.5 and 0.5 to 1,and relief between 50 and 100 m.Regions with susceptibility indices greater than 0.71 are prone to landslides and collapses. The secondary features are mainly distributed on both sides of the ridges that extend from Baosheng to Shuangshi and from Baosheng to Longxing.Other features are scattered on both sides of the ridges that extend from Qishuping to Baosheng and from Masangping to Lingguan. The distribution of the earthquake-related features trends in the NE direction, and the area that was most affected by the Lushan earthquake covers approximately 52.4 km2. | Li Xue Liu Xiaoli Li Jinggang Wang Qiuliang Liao Wulin Zhang Lifen | 2013 | Geodesy and Geodynamics2013,4,2: | 3

Non-UV germicidal activity of fresh TiO_2 and Ag/TiO_2显示文摘Fresh TiO2 was found to possess a strong germicidal activity even without UV irradiation. Live Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) cells in contact with fresh TiO2 were found deformed and dead after 15 min contact. The cause of germicidal activity was discussed from the observed cell deformation, lysis and increased absorption at 1680 cm1 in FT-IR spectra of the affected cells, which proved the oxidizing effect of fresh TiO2 to cells. The deformation caused by the stretching of cell wall and pressure built-up inside the cell, led to cell burst and release of intracellular materials. The degree of cell deformation was found positively related with the wetting property of TiO2. Cells are negatively charged, for Gram-negative cell (thinner cell wall), a higher germicidal effect was observed than Gram-positive cells. The germicidal effect of TiO2 gradually decreased after exposure to air at room temperature, as the wetting property decreased. This kind of germicidal activity was more effective compared to other germicidal process such as UVA/TiO2 or Ag+. This shed light on designing new germicidal material either maintained by visible light irradiation, or by oxidation effect generated by reactive oxygen species. | LIU Lifen John Barford YEUNG King Lun | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,5: | 3
Ultrasonic concentration measurement of citrus pectin aqueous solutions using PC and PLS regression显示文摘This work demonstrated the use of multivariate statistical techniques called principal component(PC)and partial least squares(PLS)to extract the acoustic features of citrus pectin water solution. The concentration of citrus pectin water solution was predicted by PC and PLS regression method using the spectra of ultrasound pulse echoes travelling through mixtures. The values of root mean square error of validation(RMSEV)were 0.0675 g/100 g and 0.0662 g/100 g for PC and PLS regression model, respectively.Since the response variable was taken into account,PLS regression model was more accurate than PC regression model. Also,a method for temperature compensation was proposed to correct the impact of temperature variation on analyzed data. The proposed methods for pectin concentration measurement are easily adaptable to similar applications using existing hardware. | Meng Ruifeng Zhong Jianjun Zhang Lifen Ye Xingqian Liu Donghong | 2012 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2012,5,2: | 2

Performance and microbial community analysis of bioaugmented activated sludge for nitrogen-containing organic pollutants removal显示文摘Nitrogen-containing organic pollutants(quinoline, pyridine and indole)are widely distributed in coking wastewater, and bioaugmentation with specific microorganisms may enhance the removal of these recalcitrant pollutants. The bioaugmented system(group B)was constructed through inoculation of two aromatics-degrading bacteria,Comamonas sp.Z1(quinoline degrader)and Acinetobacter sp.JW(indole degrader),into the activated sludge for treatment of quinoline, indole and pyridine, and the non-bioaugmented activated sludge was used as the control(group C).Both groups maintained high efficiencies(>94%)for removal of nitrogen-containing organic pollutants and chemical oxygen demand(COD)during the long-term operation, and group B was highly effective at the starting period and the operation stage fed with raw wastewater.High-throughput sequencing analysis indicated that nitrogen-containing organic pollutants could shape the microbial community structure, and communities of bioaugmented group B were clearly separated from those of non-bioaugmented group C as observed in non-metric multidimensional scaling(NMDS)plot.Although the inoculants did not remain their dominance in group B,bioaugmentation could induce the formation of effective microbial community, and the indigenous microbes might play the key role in removal of nitrogen-containing organic pollutants, including Dokdonella,Comamonas and Pseudoxanthomonas.Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States(PICRUSt)analysis suggested that bioaugmentation could facilitate the enrichment of functional genes related to xenobiotics biodegradation and metabolism, probably leading to the improved performance in group B.This study indicated that bioaugmentation could promote the removal of nitrogen-containing organic pollutants, which should be an effective strategy for wastewater treatment. | Xuwang Zhang Zhaojian Song Qidong Tang Minghuo Wu Hao Zhou Lifen Liu Yuanyuan Qu | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,3: | 2
Three-Dimensional Numerical Simulation of Ice Crystal Melting in Jet Engine显示文摘A method was presented for calculating the melting rate of ice crystals in different axial positions in a compressor. The volume of fluid model and enthalpy-porosity model were used to simulate the melting process of single ice crystal. The result was validated by experimental data from literature. The change of the liquid fraction of the ice crystals with the axial position was obtained when the temperature distribution inside the compressor was introduced into the melting process. The liquid fraction of the spherical ice crystals was fitted with the ice crystal diameter as a variable, and the general distribution function for computing liquid fraction in any axial position in the compressor was obtained. The function of axial position as a variable for non-spherical ice crystal was also got. | ZHU Pengfei ZHANG Jiachen HAN Bingbing ZHANG Lifen LIU Zhenxia | 2019 | Journal of Thermal Science2019,28,5: | 2
| 19 | Role of Heavy Metal Ions in the Formation of Oxyfluoride Glasses and Glass Ceramics显示文摘In order to investigate the influence of different heavy metal ions on the formation of the oxyfluoride glasses and glass ceramics, samples with different Pb F2/Cd F2 ratios have been prepared by the melting quenching and thermal treatment method. The different effects of Pb2 tand Cd2ton the glass network structure are investigated by FTIR and Raman spectra. During the formation of glass network structure, Pb2 tprefers to break the Sie Oe Si bond and subsequently bond to F for charge compensation, and Cd2 tprefers to break the SieO eA l bond and is surrounded by O2. Pb2 tand F gather together and form the fluoride nanocrystals, while Cd2 tremains in oxide matrix after thermal treatment.
