| 1 | Genome-wide Analysis of Plant-specific Dof Transcription Factor Family in Tomato显示文摘The Dof (DNA binding with One Finger) family encoding single zinc finger proteins has been known as a family of plant-specific transcription factors. These transcription factors are involved in a variety of functions of importance for different biological processes in plants. In the current study, we identified 34 Dof family genes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.), distributed on 11 chromosomes. A complete overview of SlDof genes in tomato is presented, including the gene structures, chromosome locations, phylogeny, protein motifs and evolution pattern. Phylogenetic analysis of 34 SlDof proteins resulted in four classes constituting six clusters. In addition, a comparative analysis between these genes in tomato, Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana L.) and rice (Oryza sativa L.) was also performed. The tomato Dof family expansion has been dated to recent duplication events, and segmental duplication is predominant for the SlDof genes. Furthermore, the SlDof genes displayed differential expression either in their transcript abundance or in their expression patterns under normal growth conditions. This is the first step towards genome-wide analyses of the Dof genes in tomato. | 4 | Simultaneous recovery of carbon and sulfur resources from reduction of CO_2 with H_2S using catalysts显示文摘An approach to the simultaneous reclamation of carbon and sulfur resources from CO_2 and H_2S has been proposed and effectively implemented with the aid of catalysts. A brief thermodynamic study reveals the potential of direct reduction of CO_2 with H_2S(15:15 mol% balanced with N_2) for selective production of CO and elemental sulfur. The experiments carried out in a fixed-bed flow reactor over the temperature range of 400–800 °C give evidence of the importance of the employment of catalysts. Both the conversions of the reactants and the selectivities of the target products can be substantially promoted over most catalysts studied. Nevertheless, little difference appears among their catalytic performance. The results also prove that the presence of CO_2 can remarkably enhance H_2S conversion and the sulfur yield in comparison with H_2S direct decomposition. A longtime reaction test on Mg O catalyst manifests its superior durability at high temperature(700 °C) and huge gas hourly space velocity(100,000 h-1). | 5 | Brominated dioxins and furans in a cement kiln co-processing municipal solid waste显示文摘A field study and theoretical calculations were performed to clarify the levels, profiles, and distributions of polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PBDD/Fs) in a cement kiln co-processing solid waste, with a focus on the PBDF formation mechanism.The raw materials contributed greatly to input of PBDD/Fs into the cement kiln. The PBDD/F concentrations in the raw materials were much higher than those in particle samples from different process stages in the cement kiln. The PBDD/F concentrations in the clinkers were1.40% of the concentrations in the raw materials, which indicated that the high destruction efficiencies for PBDD/Fs by cement kiln. PBDD/F distribution patterns in particle samples collected from different process stages indicated the cement kiln backend was a major site for PBDD/F formation. PBDFs with high levels of halogenation, such as heptabrominated furans(Hp BDF), were the dominant contributors to the total PBDD/F concentrations and accounted for 42%–73% of the total PBDD/F concentrations in the particle samples. Our results showed that co-processing of municipal solid waste in a cement kiln may influence the congener profile of PBDD/Fs, especially for the higher halogenated PBDD fraction. In addition, there were significant correlations between the decabromodiphenyl ether and heptabrominated furan concentrations, which is an indicator of transformation from polybrominated diphenyl ethers to PBDD/Fs. Theoretical calculations were performed and demonstrated that elimination of HBr and Br_2 from polybrominated diphenyl ethers were the dominant formation pathways for PBDD/Fs. | 7 | Seismic hazard assessment of the Three Gorges Project显示文摘Seismic monitoring data for the past 50 years in the Three Gorges Reservoir area show that the reservoir head area is a typical weak seismic region with low seismicity before impoundment and that the epicenters were concentrated in the east and west sides of the Zigui Basin,most of which were natural tectonic earthquakes.After impoundment,the seismic activity shifted to the segment between Badong and Zigui along the Yangtze River,mainly within 5 km of the reservoir bank.The seismogenesis was categorized into four types:Karst collapse earthquakes,earthquakes caused by Karst gas explosion,mining tunnel collapse earthquakes,and rock (terrane) slip earthquakes,all of which are related to the lithology,structure,and tectonics of near-surface geological bodies of the area.Compared with the seismicity before impoundment,the seismic frequency increase was remarkable,with most of the magnitudes below Ms2.0.Therefore,the intensity of the earthquakes remained at a low level.On November 22,2008,a magnitude 4.1 earthquake,the largest earthquake recorded since impoundment,occurred in Quyuan Town,Zigui County.The intensity and PGA of reservoir-induced earthquakes are higher than those of tectonic earthquakes with equal magnitude,but the peak intensity of reservoir-induced earthquakes is not likely to go beyond that of the estimated range from earlier studies. | Yao Yunsheng Wang Qiuliang Li Jinggang Shen Xueling Kong Yuyang | 2013 | Geodesy and Geodynamics2013,4,2: | 4 |

| 9 | All VN-graphene architecture derived self-powered wearable sensors for ultrasensitive health monitoring显示文摘The booming of wearable electronics has nourished the progress on developing multifunctional energy storage systems with versatile flexibility, which enable the continuous and steady power supply even under various deformed states. In this sense, the synergy of flexible energy and electronic devices to construct integrative wearable microsystems is meaningful but remains quite challenging by far. Herein, we devise an innovative supercapacitor/sensor integrative wearable device that is based upon our designed vanadium nitride-graphene (VN-G) architectures. Flexible quasi-solid-state VN-G supercapacitor with ultralight and binder-free features deliver a specific capacitance of^53 F·g^-1 with good cycle stability. On the other hand, VN-G derived pressure sensors fabricated throughout a spray-printing process also manifest favorably high sensitivity (40 kPa^-1 at the range of 2-10 kPa), fast response time (~130 ms), perfect skin conformability, and outstanding stability under static and dynamic pressure conditions. | 11 | Establishment of a new acute-on-chronic liver failure model显示文摘To establish an animal model of acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF) that would replicate the pathological process of ACLF in humans, rats were administered porcine serum(PS) for 11 weeks. Liver fibrosis was determined by pathological and biochemical assessments. The animals then were injected with D-galactosamine(D-gal) and lipopolysaccharide(LPS). The survival times of animals with cirrhosis and ACLF were determined over 48 h. Other animals were killed at 0, 4, 8 and 12 h after administration of D-gal/LPS. Liver injury was assessed by histopathological analysis and biochemical indices, and apoptosis was detected by Western blot and TUNEL analysis. After PS administration for 11 weeks the serum levels of hyaluronic acid and N-procollagen type III peptide increased significantly, and serious fibrosis and cirrhosis was observed at weeks 10 and 11. Cirrhotic rats were injected with D-gal/LPS to induced ACLF; the rate of mortality over 48 h was 80%. ALT and AST levels increased markedly at 4 h, but decreased significantly at8 and 12 h post-treatment. The total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, and total bile acids levels increased markedly at 8 and 12 h. Clotting times, TNF-α and IL-6 levels increased significantly, except for 12 h post-treatment.Apoptosis, inflammation and necrosis were elevated as determined by hematoxylin-eosin staining and TUNEL assays. BCL-2 levels decreased significantly, While BAX levels increased significantly.Cytochrome c expression peaked at 8 h postD-gal/LPS treatment. | 13 | Gadolinium-hyaluronic acid nanoparticles as an efficient and safe magnetic resonance imaging contrast agent for articular cartilage injury detection显示文摘Accurate detection of cartilage injuries is critical for their proper treatment because these injuries lack the selfhealing ability and lead to joint dysfunction.However,the low longitudinal T1 relaxivity(r1)and non-specificity of contrast agents(such as gadolinium(III)-diethylenetriamine-pentaacetic acid(Gd-DTPA))significantly limit the efficiency of clinical magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)applications.To overcome these drawbacks,we integrated hyaluronic acid(HA)with Gd to synthesize a Gd-DTPA-HA composite,which was subsequently freeze-dried to produce nanoparticles(NPs).The resultant Gd-HA NPs demonstrated a greater r1 value(12.51 mM^-1 s^-1)compared with the bulk Gd-DTPA-HA(8.37 mM^-1 s^-1)and clinically used Gd-DTPA(3.88 mM^-1 s^-1).Moreover,the high affinity of HA to the cartilage allowed these NPs to penetrate deeper beyond the cartilage surface.As a result,Gd-HA NPs considerably increased the quality of cartilage and lesion MR images via their intra-articular injection in vivo.Specifically,2 h after NP administration,the signal-to-noise ratio at the injured cartilage site was 2.3 times greater than the value measured before the injection.In addition,Gd-HA NPs exhibited good biosafety properties due to the absence of adverse effects in the blood or on the main organs.It was also showed that Gd NPs were first metabolized by the kidney and liver and then excreted from the body with urine.Thus,Gd-HA NPs can potentially serve as an efficient MRI contrast agent for improved detection of cartilage injuries. | Rong Lu Yuyang Zhang Hongyue Tao Lu Zhou Huidi Li Tianwu Chen Peng Zhang Yao Lu Shuang Chen | 2020 | Bioactive Materials2020,5,4: | 3 |
| 14 | Co-culture of tumor spheroids and monocytes in a collagen matrix-embedded microfluidic device to study the migration of breast cancer cells显示文摘Recapitulating the tumor microenvironment is a major challenge in the development of in vitro tumor model for the study of cancer biology and therapeutic treatments. 3D multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTS) have been used as reliable models of mimicking in vivo solid tumors. Macrophages and extracellular matrix (ECM), regarded as two key factors of the tumor microenvironment, play significant roles in tumor progression and drug resistance. In order to investigate their effects on tumor cell migration, a microfluidic chip-based 3D breast cancer model was developed by co-culturing monodisperse MCTS with monocytes in 3 D collagen matrix. A reversible bonding technique was employed for the fabrication of the microfluidic chip, which made it easier for MCTS formation and tailoring the MCTS co-culture conditions. When co-culturing monocytes with low invasive T47D spheroids or high invasive MD-MBA-231 spheroids, we found that T47 D cells with the stimulation of macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) and MD-MBA-231 cells could polarize monocytes into tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs). The increased stiffness via increasing collagen concentration decreased tumor cell migration, whereas the presence of TAMs enhanced the migration ability of cells.Moreover, M-CSF-activated TAMs promoted the migration of T47 D tumor cells via the regulation of TGFβ1. | 18 | Effects of linker amino acids on the potency and selectivity of dimeric antimicrobial peptides显示文摘Dimerization is an effective strategy for designing antimicrobial peptides that combine the advantages of different native peptides. In this study, we explored the effects of different linker amino acids, including leucine, proline and aminocaproic acid, on the anticancer, antimicrobial and hemolytic activities of the heteromeric antimicrobial peptides AM-1, AM-2, and AM-3. Proline and aminocaproic acid are ideal linkers for increasing the potency and selectivity of heteromeric antimicrobial peptides. The results of MD simulations provided a rationalization for this observation. Both AM-2, which had a proline linker,and AM-3, which had an aminocaproic acid linker, adopted a compact conformation in water and a bent conformation in membranes. This change in the flexible structures of AM-2 and AM-3 could have resulted in decreased binding of these peptides to zwitterionic lipid bilayers and increased damage to mixed lipid bilayers containing acidic phospholipids. | 19 | Vacancy manipulating of molybdenum carbide MXenes to enhance Faraday reaction for high performance lithium-ion batteries显示文摘“Intrinsic”strategies for manipulating the local electronic structure and coordination environment of defect-regulated materials can optimize electrochemical storage performance.Nevertheless,the structure–activity relationship between defects and charge storage is ambiguous,which may be revealed by constructing highly ordered vacancy structures.Herein,we demonstrate molybdenum carbide MXene nanosheets with customized in-plane chemical ordered vacancies(Mo_(1.33)CT_(x)),by utilizing selective etching strategies.Synchrotron-based X-ray characterizations reveal that Mo atoms in Mo1.33CTx show increased average valence of+4.44 compared with the control Mo_(2)CT_(x).Benefited from the introduced atomic active sites and high valence of Mo,Mo_(1.33)CT_(x)achieves an outstanding capacity of 603 mAh·g^(−1)at 0.2 A·g^(−1),superior to most original MXenes.Li+storage kinetics analysis and density functional theory(DFT)simulations show that this optimized performance ensues from the more charge compensation during charge–discharge process,which enhances Faraday reaction compared with pure Mo_(2)CT_(x).This vacancy manipulation provides an efficient way to realize MXene’s potential as promising electrodes. | Xin Guo Changda Wang Wenjie Wang Quan Zhou Wenjie Xu Pengjun Zhang Shiqiang Wei Yuyang Cao Kefu Zhu Zhanfeng Liu Xiya Yang Yixiu Wang Xiaojun Wu Li Song Shuangming Chen Xiaosong Liu | 2022 | Nano Research Energy2022,1,3: | 2 |
| 20 | Sulforaphane attenuates dextran sodium sulphate induced intestinal inflammation via IL-10/STAT3 signaling mediated macrophage phenotype switching显示文摘Innate immunity,particularly macrophages,is critical for intestinal homeostasis.Sulforaphane,a dietary isothiocyanate from cruciferous vegetables,has been reported to protect against intestinal inflammation.However,the role of macrophages in sulforaphane mediated intestinal inflammation and the underlying molecular mechanisms have not been studied yet.In this study,sulforaphane effectively attenuated dextran sodium sulphate(DSS)induced intestinal inflammation in murine model.Of note,sulforaphane skewed the switching from classically(M1)to alternatively(M2)activated phenotype both in intestinal and bone marrow-derived macrophages(BMDMs).The expression levels of M1 associated maker genes induced by DSS or lipopolysaccharide(LPS)plus interferon gamma-γ(IFN-γ)were suppressed by sulforaphane while M2 marker gene expression levels were improved.This resulted in alteration of inflammatory mediators,particularly interleukin-10(IL-10),both in colon tissues and culture medium of BMDMs.Subsequently,IL-10 was found to mediate the sulforaphane induced M2 phenotype switching of BMDMs through the activation of STAT3 signaling.This was confirmed by immunofluorescence analysis with increased number of p-STAT3-positive cells in the colon sections.Moreover,anti-IL-10 neutralizing antibody significantly interfered M2 phenotyping of BMDMs induced by sulforaphane with reduced STAT3 phosphorylation.Findings here introduced a potential utilization of sulforaphane for intestinal inflammation treatment with macrophages as the therapeutic targets. | Yuyang Sun Jiqing Tang Cui Li Jun Liu Haijie Liu | 2022 | Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,1: | 2 |
