| 1 | Validation of the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children(PAQ-C) among Chinese Children显示文摘Objective This study initially validates the Chinese version of the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children(PAQ-C), which has been identified as a potentially valid instrument to assess moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(MVPA) in children among diverse racial groups. Methods The psychometric properties of the PAQ-C with 742 Hong Kong Chinese children were assessed with the scale's internal consistency, reliability, test-retest reliability, confirmatory factory analysis(CFA) in the overall sample, and multistep invariance tests across gender groups as well as convergent validity with body mass index(BMI), and an accelerometry-based MVPA. Results The Cronbach alpha coefficient(α=0.79), composite reliability value(ρ=0.81), and the intraclass correlation coefficient(α=0.82) indicate the satisfactory reliability of the PAQ-C score. The CFA indicated data fit a single factor model, suggesting that the PAQ-C measures only one construct, on MVPA over the previous 7 days. The multiple-group CFAs suggested that the factor loadings and variances and covariances of the PAQ-C measurement model were invariant across gender groups. The PAQ-C score was related to accelerometry-based MVPA(r=0.33) and inversely related to BMI(r=-0.18). Conclusion This study demonstrates the reliability and validity of the PAQ-C in Chinese children. | WANG Jing Jing BARANOWSKI Tom LAU WC Patrick CHEN Tzu An PITKETHLY Amanda Jane | 2016 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,3: | 7 |

| 15 | Residual effects of TMOF-Bti formulations against 1^(st) instar Aedes aegypti Linnaeus larvae outside laboratory显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and residual effects of trypsin modulating ecstatic factor-Bacillus thuringiensis israeliensis(TMOF-Bti) formulations against Aedes aegypti(Ae. aegypti)(L) larvae at UKM Campus Kuala Lumpur. Methods:Twenty first instar Ae.aegypti larvae were added in each bucket containing 4 L of water supplied with crushed dried-leaf powder as their source of food.Combination of TMOF-Bti in rice husk formulation with the following weights viz 10,25,50 and 100 mg,respectively in duplicate was distributed in the buckets;while TMOF-Bti in wettable powder formulation each weighing viz 2,5,10 and 20 mg,respectively in duplicate was also placed in the buckets. The control buckets run in duplicate with 4 L of water and 20 first instar Ae.aegypti larvae. All buckets were covered with mosquito netting.Larval mortality was recorded after 24 hours and weekly for five weeks.A new batch of 20 1^(st) instar larvae Ae.aegypti was introduced into each bucket weekly without additional TMOF-Bti rice husk formulation or wettable powder. The experiment was repeated for four times. Results:The result of the study showed that all formulations were very effective on the first two weeks by giving 100% larval mortality for all concentrations applied. The TMOF(2%) + Bti(2%) had a good residual effect until the end of 3^(rd) week,TMOF(4%) + Bti(4%) until 4^(th) week, wettable powder TMOF(20%) + Bti(20%) until the third week.Condusions:From the results it can be concluded that the TMOF-Bti formulations can be utilized in dengue vector control. | Saiful AN Lau MS Sulaiman S Hidayatulfathi O | 2012 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,4: | 0 |
| 16 | Establishment of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma mouse models for cetuximab resistance and sensitivity显示文摘Aim:Acquired resistance to the targeted agent cetuximab poses a significant challenge in finding effective anti-cancer treatments for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).To accurately study novel combination treatments, suitable preclinical mouse models for cetuximab resistance are key yet currently limited. This study aimed to optimize an acquired cetuximab-resistant mouse model, with preservation of the innate immunity, ensuring intact antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(ADCC)functionality.Methods:Cetuximab-sensitive and acquired-resistant HNSCC cell lines, generated in vitro, were subcutaneously engrafted in Rag2 knock-out(KO),BALB/c Nude and CB17 Scid mice with/without Matrigel or Geltrex.Once tumor growth was established, mice were intraperitoneally injected twice a week with cetuximab for a maximum of 3 weeks. In addition, immunohistochemistry was used to evaluate the tumor and its microenvironment. Results:Despite several adjustments in cell number, cell lines and the addition of Matrigel,Rag2 KO and BALB/C Nude mice proved to be unsuitable for xenografting our HNSCC cell lines.Durable tumor growth of resistant SC263-R cells could be induced in CB17 Scid mice. However, these cells had lost their resistance phenotype in vivo.Immunohistochemistry revealed a high infiltration of macrophages in cetuximab-treated SC263-R tumors.FaDu-S and FaDu-R cells successfully engrafted into CB17 Scid mice and maintained their sensitivity/resistance to cetuximab. Conclusion:We have established in vivo HNSCC mouse models with intact ADCC functionality for cetuximab resistance and sensitivity using the FaDu-R and FaDu-S cell lines, respectively. These models serve as valuable tools for investigating cetuximab resistance mechanisms and exploring novel drug combination strategies. | Hannah Zaryouh Ines De Pauw Hasan Baysal Joran Melis Valentin Van den Bossche Christophe Hermans Ho Wa Lau Hide Lambrechts Celine Merlin Cyril Corbet Marc Peeters Jan Baptist Vermorken Jorrit De Waele Filip Lardon An Wouters | 2023 | Cancer Drug Resistance2023,6,4: | 0 |
