2Adjustable thermal expansion in La(Fe,Si)13-based conductive composites by high-pressure synthesis显示文摘Providing a suitable contact interface, where a high conductivity material with a desirable coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) adjoins the target micro-electric devices, is very crucial to optimize the properties and service life of the relevant instruments. Regrettably, a high conductivity, low thermal expansion and relatively inexpensive material is very rare. Composites, fortunately, can offer a method to design materials with adjustable properties by mixing two or more diverse constituents. In this paper, high conductivity composites with adjustable thermal expansion were successfully prepared by a high-pressure synthesis. The composites are based on combining La(Fe,Si)13-based compounds, the materials showing a giant, isotropic negative thermal expansion(NTE) properties, within Cu matrix. The La(Fe,Si)13-based compounds were used to adjust the CTE of the composites, while the Cu phase is in charge of tuning the thermal conductivity properties. Thus, by changing the relative amount of the two components, the composites with high conductivities and adjustable CTE were achieved. Furthermore, the thermal expansion and magnetic properties of the composites were investigated by a physical property measurement system. 3Uranium comminution age responds to erosion rate semiquantitatively显示文摘Here we present(^(234)U/^(238)U)data from river sediments collected on the Tibetan Plateau.The(^(234)U/^(238)U)ratios of a specific grain size fraction show good correlation with erosion rates,which were determined by in-situ–produced cosmogenic nuclides.This correlation has previously been observed in a wide range of geomorphic settings,suggesting that(^(234)U/^(238)U)ratios of fluvial sediments have great potential to quantify erosion rates.Le Li Laifeng Li Gaojun Li 2017Acta Geochimica2017,36,3:2
4Broad negative thermal expansion operation-temperature window in antiperovskite manganese nitride with small crystallites显示文摘Using spark plasma sintering (SPS), Mn3Cu0.6Ge0.4N crystallites have been fabricated with different crystallite sizes, and their magnetic properties and thermal behaviors were systemically investigated. With decreasing crystallite size, the magnetic transition becomes increasingly slow, accompanied by broadening of the negative thermal expansion (NTE) operation-temperature window. The NTE operation-temperature window for the 12-nm crystallite sample reaches at 140 K, which is about 75% larger than that of the 74-nm crystallite sample. The magnetic properties and NTE operation-temperature window can be tuned by varying the crystallite size. 5Limited Contribution of Preferential Dissolution to Radiogenic Uranium Isotope Disequilibrium Observed in Weathered Moraines显示文摘Radiogenic uranium isotope disequilibrium(^(234)U/^(238)U) has been used to trace a variety of Earth surface processes,and is usually attributed to direct recoil of ^(234)Th and preferential dissolution of radioactively damaged lattices at the mineral surface.However,the relative contribution of these two mechanisms in the natural environment remains unresolved,making it hard to use the extent of disequilibrium to quantify processes such as weathering.This study tests the contribution of preferential dissolution using well-characterized weathered moraines and river sediments from the southeastern Tibetan Plateau.The observations show that weathering of recent moraines where the contribution from direct recoil is negligible and is not associated with depletion of ^(234)U at the mineral surface.It suggests a limited role for preferential dissolution in this setting.We attribute this lack of preferential dissolution to a near-to-equilibrium dissolution at the weathering interfaces,with little development of etch pits associated with radioactively damaged energetic sites.Laifeng Li Laura FRobinson Tianyu Chen Zhewen Xu Jun Chen Gaojun Li 2022Journal of Earth Science2022,33,1:1

7Big difference in ^87Sr/ ^86Sr ratios of basalt and basin water: higher ^87Sr/ ^86Sr ratios in plagioclase显示文摘We analyzed the ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of basaltic rocks and basin water in Xuyi,China,and found a big difference,which may challenge conventional wisdom on the contribution of basalt weathering in end-member analysis.Results of an in-house weathering experiment suggest that rainwater and dust are not responsible for the difference.By isolating the major minerals in basalt,we found that plagioclase has much higher ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios than bulk basalt and basin water,which might explain the difference in ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of basalt and basin water.We inferthatlow-temperaturehydrothermalalteration increased the ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of plagioclase.Future analyses of end-member contribution in a mixed-rock basin should take into account that basin water and plagioclase have higher ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios than basaltic rocks.Laifeng Li Gaojun Li 2017Acta Geochimica2017,36,3:1
8Dielectric AlN/epoxy and SiC/epoxy composites with enhanced thermal and dynamic mechanical properties at low temperatures显示文摘In a superconducting magnet,the thermal properties of the insulating material at low temperatures is an important technical index to ensure the normal operation of a superconducting coil.Herein,a low-temperature thermal conductivity testing device with a tiny uncertainty was developed to measure the composites.Furthermore,SiC/epoxy and AlN/epoxy composites were prepared and their properties were tested at low temperatures.The results showed that the composites have a better thermal conductivity at low temperatures than pure epoxy.In addition,the AlN/epoxy and SiC/epoxy composites have excellent dynamic mechanical properties and low coefficient of thermal expansion.Due to the fair thermal and dynamic mechanical properties,the composites will have potential application in the superconducting magnet.Zhengrong Zhou Rongjin Huang Huiming Liu Yalin Zhao Zhicong Miao Zhixiong Wu Wanyin Zhao Chuanjun Huang Laifeng Li 2022Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2022,32,3:1

11Dissimilar laser welding of CrMnFeCoNi high entropy alloy and 316LN stainless steel for cryogenic application显示文摘The microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar laser beam welded joint between CrMnFeCoNi alloy and 316LN stainless steel was investigated.The results showed that the defect-free dissimilar joint was obtained by laser beam welding.The ultimate strength of the welded joints can reach∼90%of the base materials at both room and cryogenic temperatures.The deformation substructure mainly consisted of planar dislocation,the stacking faults and the dissociation of stacking faults into nanotwins.The volume fraction of the nanotwins was increasing at cryogenic temperature.The hardness fluctuates greatly in welded joint and the lowest hardness was located at fusion zone near the fusion line.The fracture of the welded joint was located at the fusion zone in consistence with the lowest hardness area.It is mainly attributed to the coarse grain and stress concentration at this area.Jijun Xin Wei Wang Xiao Yang Mebrouka Boubeche Shanlin Wang Hengcheng Zhang Chuanjun Huang Yong Li Bingkun Lyu Fuzhi Shen Wentao Sun Laifeng Li 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,32:0
