| 3 | Dose-effect analysis of treatment by modified Zhibaidihuang decoction on polycystic ovary syndrome hyperandrogenism显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To observe the efficacy and safety of different dosages of modified Zhibaidihuang decoction(MZBDD) on polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) hyperandrogenism(HA) patients.METHODS: Ninety PCOS HA patients and 30 infertile patients due to tubal factor were selected. Ninety PCOS HA patients were randomly divided into three groups: low dosage group(LDG), medium dosage group(MDG) and high dosage group(HDG) and infertile patients were selected as normal control group(NCG). PCOS HA patients were treated with different dosage of MZBDD for 4 weeks. For HA patients, serum total testosterone(T), estrodial(E2), follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), luteinizing hormone(LH), prolatin(PRL), alanine aminotransferase(AST), aspartate amino transferase(AST) were determined before and after treatment, while acne scores(Rosenfield) were signed. Basal body temperatures(BBT) were asked to be measured every day. And for the else, T, E2,FSH, LH, PRL, AST, and AST were determined before treatment.RESULTS: Totally 111 patients completed the clinical research. There were no differences among the four groups on serum T before treatment(P =0.221). Serum T concentration of both MDG and HDG after treatment significantly were lower than that of before treatment(P = 0.039, P = 0.000),while there was no obvious difference in LDG(P =0.829). Serum T concentration of both MDG and HDG were significantly lower than that of LDG after treatment(P = 0.048, P = 0.006). To compared with before treatment, there were no differences in Serum FSH, LH, E2, P and PRL among the three groups(LDG, MDG, HDG)(as for FSH, P = 0.136, P = 0.503,P = 0.062; as for LH, P = 0.473, P = 0.513, P = 0.096;as for E2, P = 0.206, P = 0.927, P = 0.076; as for PRL,P = 0.120, P = 0.903, P = 0.407, as for P, P = 0.308, P =0.866, P = 0480). Acne scores of all the three groups were obviously lower than that of before treatment(P = 0.031; P = 0.033; P = 0.002). 39.5% of the patients had biphasic BBT, but there were no differences among the three groups(P = 0.510). There were no differences with ALT and AST between after and before treatment among the three groups(LDG, MDG, HDG)(as for ALT, P = 0.742, P = 0.383,P = 0.053; as for AST, P = 0.732, P = 0.519, P = 0.120).CONCLUSION: Different dosage of MZBDD has dose-effect relationship in treating PCOS HA. | Zhao Yiming Zheng Dongxue Cheng Ran Xu Xin Lian Fengmei Tong Xiaolin Liu Xinmin | 2018 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,2: | 4 |
| 4 | Shugan Jieyu capsule(舒肝解郁胶囊) improve sleep and emotional disorder in coronavirus disease 2019 convalescence patients: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of the Shugan Jieyu capsule(舒肝解郁胶囊) on improving sleep and emotional disorder during Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) convalescence. METHODS: We conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, and recruit 200 COVID-19 convalescence patients and then divide the subjects into two groups respectively: the experimental group(n = 100) and the control group(n = 100). Patients in the control group were given doses as a placebo, while those in the experimental group were given Shugan Jieyu capsule. The investigators mainly observed the differences between the two groups before and after treatment in terms of the rate of reduction and the rate of efficiency in Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD-17) total scores from baseline, and recorded the scores of Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA), Patient Health Questionnaire-15(PHQ-15), Insomnia Severity Index(ISI) and Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale at 2 week, the 4 week and the 6 week respectively after treatment, and compared the differences between the groups. And the occurrence of adverse events was recorded. RESULTS: After 6-week treatment, there were statistically significant differences in the rate of reduction as well as efficiency in HAMD-17 scores, HAMA Total Scores, PHQ-15 Score, ISI Score from baseline in the experimental group and control group(P < 0.05). There were 4 adverse events in the experimental group and 1 in the control group. CONCLUSION: Shugan Jieyu capsule could significantly improve sleep and emotional disorder in patients during COVID-19 convalescence. | AN Xuedong ZHANG Qing TAO Junxiu LI Li CHEN Yun LI Kejian HE Jing LIU Ru GUO Juan ZHANG Jia ZHU Hui LIAN Fengmei LI Xiaodong | 2022 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,5: | 2 |

| 7 | Essential factors of Sui Zheng Shi Liang strategy in Type 2 diabetes treatment assessed by questionnaire显示文摘OBJECTIVE: Sui Zheng Shi Liang strategy (regulating prescription dosage with different syndromes) is an important part of syndrome differentiation and treatment in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Questionnaires were given to doctors and patients to study the essential factors (indicators and timing) of Sui Zheng Shi Liang strategy in the treatment process of type 2 diabetes (T2DM). METHODS: Two questionnaires were designed for diabetes patients and their doctors. The questionnaires included the most important indicators for determining the patient's condition, the ability of TCM in treating T2DM, the length of time it takes for TCM to be effective, and when to adjust the prescription dosage. The frequency of answers was calculated, summarized, and analyzed after the survey. RESULTS: Twenty questionnaires from doctors and 90 questionnaires from patients were included in the analysis. Doctors and patients recognized thatTCM could decrease blood glucose, improve syndromes, and delay complications. Doctors were mainly concerned about glycosylated hemoglobin, while the patients were concerned about fasting plasma glucose for determining whether treatment was effective. Doctors also paid attention to changes in blood sugar and syndromes 2 weeks after medication was given as the indication to adjust the prescription dosage, while patients were concerned about these factors in 4 weeks. The prescription should be regulated when there are side effects or the medication is ineffective. CONCLUSION: The essential factor in the treatment process of T2DM in Sui Zheng Shi Liang strategy is that if fasting blood glucose level did not decrease after 4 weeks of treatment, the Chinese medicine prescription should be adjusted. | Fengmei Lian Xinyan Chen Linhua Zhao Lipeng Xu Xiaolin Tong | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,1: | 0 |
