Arbitrary focusing lens by holographic metasurface显示文摘In this paper, an ultrathin metalens has been proposed based on a holographic metasurface that consists of elongated apertures in 40 nm gold film, which exhibit intriguing properties such as on-and off-axis focusing and also can concentrate light into multiple, discrete spots for circularly polarized incident lights. First, the spatial transmission phase distributions of the designed metalens with arbitrary focusing can be obtained by computergenerated holography. Then, the discrete phase distributions can be continuously encoded by subwavelength nanoapertures with spatially varying orientations in gold film. The simulation results show that our designed metalens can work efficiently for different types of focusing. Finally, our metasurface shows superior broadband characteristics between 670 and 810 nm, and the corresponding focal lengths of the designed lenses also can be efficiently modulated with the incident lights at different wavelengths. | Rongzhen Li Zhongyi Guo Wei Wang Jingran Zhang Keya Zhou Jianlong Liu Shiliang Qu Shutian Liu Jun Gao | 2015 | Photonics Research2015,3,5: | 6

Study of Ce-modified antibacterial 316L stainless steel显示文摘316L stainless steel is widely used for fashion jewelry, but it can carry a large number of bacteria and bring the risk of infection since the steel has no antimicrobial performance. In this paper, the effects of Ce on the antibacterial property, corrosion resistance and processability of 316L were studied by microscopic observation, thin- film adhering quantitative bacteriostasis, and electrochemical and mechanical tests. The results show that a trace of Ce can distribute uniformly in the matrix of 316L and slightly improve its corrosion resistance in artificial sweat. With an increase in Ce content, the Ce is prone to form clustering, which degrades the corrosion resistance and the processability. The Ce-containing 316L exhibits Hormesis effect against S. aureus. A small Ce addition stimulates the growth of S. aureus. As the Ce content increases, the modified 316L exhibits an improved antibacterial efficacy. The more Ce is added, the better antibacterial capability is achieved. Overall, if the 316L is modified with Ce alone, it is difficult to obtain the optimal combination of corrosion resistance, antibacterial performance and processability. In spite of that, 0.15 wt.%-0.20 wt.% Ce around is inferred to be the best trade-off. | Yuan Junping Li Wei Shen Keya | 2012 | China Foundry2012,9,4: | 1
Spatiotemporal dynamics of the microbial diversity on salt-preserved goatskins assessed by culturing and 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing显示文摘Wet-salted skin,as a special artificial high-salt environment,is rich in protein, fat, collagen and other nutrient substrates, and is a rich resource of halotolerant and halophilic microorganisms. However, knowledge gaps regarding the microbial community structure and inter taxa associations of wet-salted skin are large. In this study, the spatiotemporal dynamics and community structure of microorganisms present on wet-salted goatskins were investigated using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and culturable technique.Alpha diversity analysis based on Sobs,Chao,Ace and Shannon indices revealed that microbial diversity on the wet-salted goatskins exhibited a trend of‘down→up→down→flat’with time.During preservation, genera belonging to the bacteria domain such as Aci-netobacter,Weissella and Streptococcus were slowly dying out, whereas those belonging to halophilic archaea such as Natrialba and Haloterrigena were gradually flourishing. Moreover,to resist high-salt stress, microorganisms on the wet-salted goatskin gradually migrated from the outside to the inside, eventually leading to the microbial diversity inside the skin being the same as or even higher than that on the skin surface.Venn diagram analysis revealed that the strains of some genera, including Psychrobacter,Salimicrobium,Salinicola,Ornithinibacillus,Halomonas,Bacillus and Chromohalobacter, were distributed throughout the interior and exterior of the wet-salted goatskin and existed during various periods.Accordingly,45 protease-producing halophilic or halotolerant microorganisms were isolated and screened from the wet-salted goatskin using the gradient dilution plate method.Importantly,16S rRNA genes of some bacteria exhibited less than 99.5%similarity to valid published species, indicating that they likely are novel spe-cies and have a good potential for application. | Xiaoguang Li Keya Sen Yuqin Zhang Yongqiang Tian Bi Shi | 2022 | Journal of Leather Science and Engineering2022,4,1: | 0
Effectiveness and mechanisms of adiposederived stem cell therapy in animal models of Parkinson’s disease:a systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Animal models provide an opportunity to assess the optimal treatment way and the underlying mechanisms of direct clinical application of adipose-derived stem cells(ADSCs).Previous studies have evaluated the effects of primitive and induced ADSCs in animal models of Parkinson’s disease(PD).Here, eight databases were systematically searched for studies on the effects and in vivo changes caused by ADSC intervention.Quality assessment was conducted using a 10-item risk of bias tool. For the subsequent meta-analysis,study characteristics were extracted and effect sizes were computed.Ten out of 2324 published articles(n=169 animals)were selected for further meta-analysis.After ADSC therapy, the rotation behavior(10 experiments,n=156 animals)and rotarod performance(3 experiments,n=54 animals)were improved(P<0.00001 and P=0.0003,respectively).The rotation behavior test reflected functional recovery, which may be due to the neurogenesis from neuronally differentiated ADSCs,resulting in a higher pooled effect size of standard mean difference(SMD)(−2.59;95%CI,−3.57 to−1.61)when compared to that of primitive cells(−2.18;95%CI,−3.29 to−1.07).Stratified analyses by different time intervals indicated that ADSC intervention exhibited a long-term effect.Following the transplantation of ADSCs,tyrosine hydroxylase-positive neurons recovered in the lesion area with pooled SMD of 13.36[6.85,19.86].Transplantation of ADSCs is a therapeutic option that shows long-lasting effects in animal models of PD.The potential mechanisms of ADSCs involve neurogenesis and neuroprotective effects. The standardized induction of neural form of transplanted ADSCs can lead to a future application in clinical practice. | Keya Li Xinyue Li Guiying Shi Xuepei Lei Yiying Huang Lin Bai Chuan Qin | 2021 | Translational Neurodegeneration2021,10,2: | 0
Water bridges are essential to neonicotinoids: Insights from synthesis, bioassay and molecular modelling studies显示文摘Water-bridged H-bonds have been observed in many cases of ligand-receptor recognitions. To explore the roles of water bridges in the binding of neonicotinoids with receptors, twenty-four neonicotinoid compounds with nine fragments, including 1 H-1,2,3-triazole, CN, COOMe, CONHNH_2, CONHMe, NO_2,NH_2, NHCOMe and NHCSNH_2 were synthesized and evaluated, of which, compounds with cyano group showed the best activities against Aphis craccivora. Accordingly, the cyano group is the optimal fragment mimicking the water bridge. Two cyano-substituted cis-nitromethylene compounds display good insecticidal activities, whereas the LC_(50) values are lower than those of their corresponding prototypes.Docking study showed that the cyano group acts only as H-bond acceptor, while the water bridge can act as both donor and acceptor. It revealed that the water bridge might be stable in the active site and was not suitable to be replaced by other groups. The findings illustrated that the water bridge is necessary for high insecticidal activities of neonicotinoids, which should be also helpful in better understanding the binding mode of neonicotinoids. | Chengchun Zhu Guanglong Li Keya Xiao Xusheng Shao Jiagao Cheng Zhong Li | 2019 | Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,1: | 0
Heterozygous lipoprotein lipase knockout mice exhibit impaired hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell compartment显示文摘Background : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) maintain the hematopoietic system homeostasis through self- renewal and multilineage differentiation potential. HSC are regulated by the microenvironment, cytokine signaling, and transcription factors. Recent results have shown that lipid pathways play a key role in the regulation of HSC quiescence, proliferation, and division. However, the mechanism by which lipid metabolism regulates HSC proliferation and differentiation remains to be clarified. Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is an essential enzyme in the anabolism and catabolism of very low- density lipoprotein, chylomicrons, and triglyceride- rich lipoproteins. Methods : The percentage of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells and immune cells were determined by fluorescence- activated cell sorting (FACS). The function and the mechanism of HSCs were analyzed by cell colony forming assay and qPCR analysis. The changes in LPL^(+/−) HSC microenvironment were detected by transplantation as- says using red fluorescent protein (RFP) transgenic mice. Results : To explore the function of LPL in HSC regulation, heterozygous LPL- knockout mice (LPL^(+/−)) were established and analyzed by FACS. LPL^(+/−) mice displayed decreased hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell compartments. In vitro single- cell clono- genic assays and cell-cycle assays using FACS promoted the cell cycle and increased proliferation ability. qPCR analysis showed the expression of p57^(KIP2) and p21^(WAF1)/ ^(CIP1) in LPL^(+/−) mice was upregulated. Conclusions : LPL^(+/−) mice exhibited HSC compartment impairment due to promotion of HSC proliferation, without any effects on the bone marrow (BM) microenvironment. | Guiying Shi Xinyue Li Keya Li Yiying Huang Xuepei Lei Lin Bai Chuan Qin | 2021 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2021,4,4: | 0
