| 1 | Hepatic schwannoma:Imaging findings on CT,MRI and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography显示文摘A primary benign schwannoma of the liver is extremely rare and is difficult to preoperatively discriminate from a malignant tumor.We compared the imaging and pathological findings,and examined the possibility of preoperatively diagnosing a benign liver schwannoma.A 72-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of a 4.6-cm mass in the liver.A malignant tumor was suspected,and a right hepatectomy was performed.After this,the diagnosis of a primary benign schwannoma of the liver was made through pathological examination.Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CEUS) with Sonazoid showed minute blood flows into the septum and solid areas of the tumor in the vascular phase;most likely due to increased arterial flow associated with infiltration of chronic inflammatory cells.In the postvascular phase,CEUS showed contrast defect of cystic areas and delayed enhancement of solid areas;most likely due to aggregation of siderophores.Because discriminating between a benign and malignant schwannoma of the liver is difficult,surgery is generally recommended.However,the two key findings from CEUS may be useful in discriminating ancient schwannoma by recognizing the hemorrhage involved in the secondary degeneration and aggregation of siderophores. | Yu Ota Kazunobu Aso Kenji Watanabe Takahiro Einama Koji Imai Hidenori Karasaki Ryuji Sudo Yosui Tamaki Mituyoshi Okada Yosihiko Tokusashi Toru Kono Naoyuki Miyokawa Masakazu Haneda Masahiko Taniguchi Hiroyuki Furukawa | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012，18，35： | 11 |
| 2 | Inhibitory effect of angiotensinⅡreceptor antagonist on hepatic stellate cell activation in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis显示文摘AIM: To investigate the efficacy of angiotensinⅡreceptor antagonist on hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation in the patients with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). METHODS: Seven patients with NASH were prescribed losartan, a selective angiotensinⅡtype 1 receptor antagonist (50 mg/d) for 48 wk. Liver biopsies were performed both at the entry and end of the study in all patients. Quiescent and activated HSCs were identified by double immunostaining using anti-p75 andα-smooth muscle actin antibodies, and the number of each phenotype was counted. Similarly, the liver specimens obtained from the eight patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) were also examined as controls. RESULTS: In NASH hepatic tissues, activated HSCs were dominantly distributed as compared with those in NAFL. The 48-wk losartan treatment induced a remarkable decrease in activated HSCs and a mild increase in quiescent phenotypes. | 3 | E-cadherin and beta-catenin expression in Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric carcinoma and their prognostic significance显示文摘AIM: To examine the role of E-cadherin and beta- catenin in carcinogenesis and to assess their prognostic implication in Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric carcinomas (EBV-GCs). METHODS: We compared the frequency of E-cadherin and beta-catenin expression in 59 EBV-GCs and 120 non-EBV-GCs, and examined the association between patients' prognosis and the expressions of these proteins. RESULTS: Neither the cellular-membranous nor the cytoplasmic E-cadherin expression showed any difference between EBV-GCs and non-EBV-GCs. On the other hand, loss of membranous expression of beta- catenin occurred more frequently in non-EBV-GCs than EBV-GCs [odds ratio = 0.41; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.19-0.90]. Furthermore, the nuclear and/or cytoplosmic expression of beta-catenin was seen more frequentlyin EBV-GCs than non-EBV-GCs (odds ratio = 2.23; 95% CI, 0.97-5.09), and was observed in a larger proportion of carcinoma cells of EBV-GCs than non-EBV-GCs (P = 0.024). Survival analysis for non-EBV-GC revealed that lymph node metastasis was significantly associated with poor prognosis (P < 0.001). Among EBV- GCs, the depth of invasion (P = 0.005), lymph node metastasis (P = 0.004) and an intestinal type by Lauren classification (hazard ratio = 9.47; 95% CI, 2.67-33.6) were significantly associated with poor prognosis. On the other hand, nuclear and/or cytoplasmic expression of beta-catenin was associated with a better prognosis in patients with EBV-GC (hazard ratio = 0.32; 95% CI, 0.11-0.93). CONCLUSION: We observed more frequent preservation of beta-catenin in cell membrane and accumulation in nuclei and/or cytoplasm in EBV-GCs than in non-EBV- GCs. | 5 | Development of uncut crop edge detection system based on laser rangefinder for combine harvesters显示文摘The objective of this research was to develop an uncut crop edge detection system for a combine harvester.A laser rangefinder(LF)was selected as a primary sensor,combined with a pan-tilt unit(PTU)and an inertial measurement unit(IMU).Three-dimensional field information can be obtained when the PTU rotates the laser rangefinder in the vertical plane.A field profile was modeled by analyzing range data.Otsu’s method was used to detect the crop edge position on each scanning profile,and the least squares method was applied to fit the uncut crop edge.Fundamental performance of the system was first evaluated under laboratory conditions.Then,validation experiments were conducted under both static and dynamic conditions in a wheat field during harvesting season.To verify the error of the detection system,the real position of the edge was measured by GPS for accuracy evaluation.The results showed an average lateral error of±12 cm,with a Root-Mean-Square Error(RMSE)of 3.01 cm for the static test,and an average lateral error of±25 cm,with an RMSE of 10.15 cm for the dynamic test.The proposed laser rangefinder-based uncut crop edge detection system exhibited a satisfactory performance for edge detection under different conditions in the field,and can provide reliable information for further study. | Zhao Teng Noboru Noguchi Yang Liangliang Kazunobu Ishii Chen Jun | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016，9，2： | 5 |
