| 2 | Recent management of urinary stone disease in a pediatric population显示文摘The incidence of stone disease has been increasing and the risk of recurrent stone formation is high in a pediatric population. It is crucial to use the most effective method with the primary goal of complete stone removal to prevent recurrence from residual fragments. While extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL) is still considered first line therapy in many clinics for urinary tract stones in children, endoscopic techniques are widely preferred due to miniaturization of instruments and evolution of surgical techniques. The standard procedures to treat urinary stone disease in children are the same as those used in an adult population. These include ESWL, ureterorenoscopy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy(standard PCNL or mini-perc), laparoscopic and open surgery. ESWL is currently the procedure of choice for treating most upper urinary tract calculi in a pediatric population. In recent years, endourological management of pediatric urinary stone disease is preferred in many centers with increasing experience in endourological techniques and decreasing sizes of surgical equipment. The management of pediatric stone disease has evolved with improvements in the technique and a decrease in the size of surgical instru-ments. Recently, endoscopic methods have been safely and effectively used in children with minor complications. | 3 | Tm-doped ZnO nanorods as a TCO for PV applications显示文摘In photovoltaic(PV) devices, a transparent conducting oxide(TCO) film is used as a transparent electrode which permits sun rays to reach to the photoactive semiconducting layers and also to collect the photogenerated electrons. Due to their electrical and optical properties zinc oxide(ZnO) based thin films and nanostructures are considered as an abundant and safer option for TCOs. In this study, undoped and thulium(Tm)-doped ZnO nanorods(NRs) were produced on glass substrates via spin coating and hydrothermal methods. The ZnO samples were described by X-ray diffractometry(XRD). Morphological features of the ZnO samples were investigated with scanning electron microscopy(SEM). It is observed that the all ZnO samples have nanorod shape. The average rods diameter is between 75 and 100 nm. Also,the rods length is found to be between 0.96 and 1.62 μm. Electrical properties of the ZnO samples were performed via four probe method. The conductivity increases with measurement temperature and Tm doping. | 17 | An ethnobotanical study of medicinal plants in Güce district,north-eastern Turkey显示文摘This study aims to identify medicinal plants traditionally used to treat diseases by local people living in Güce district,north-eastern Turkey.The study was carried out between 2018 and 2021 using a two-part semi-structured,open-ended questionnaire with 165 local people.Data were analysed using use-report,frequency of citation,and informant consensus factor.Informants identified 128 vascular medicinal plant taxa belonging to 54 families and 106 genera.The most common plant taxa belong to Rosaceae(16 taxa/12.5%),Asteraceae(12 taxa/9.4%),and Lamiaceae(9 taxa/7%)families.The most frequently used preparation method reported was decoction(39.8%);the most commonly utilized plant parts were leaves(40.3%).Statistical analysis reveals that women in Güce district(df?163,p?0.043<0.05)possess the most traditional knowledge.The highest frequency of citation(61)and use report(92)were recorded for Tilia rubra subsp.caucasica,and the highest informant consensus factors were cited for respiratory system disorders(0.86),digestive system disorders(0.73),and skin disorders(0.71).This study reported nine plant taxa as medicinal plants for the first time,and documented a total of 293 new therapeutic uses.However,the study indicates that the transfer of traditional knowledge to future generations is limited(F?3.355,p?0.020).Action should be taken as soon as possible to preserve existing traditional knowledge and to ensure its transfer to future generations. | Mustafa Karakose | 2022 | Plant Diversity2022，44，6： | 1 |
