| 1 | Towards an Artificial Intelligence Framework for Data-Driven Prediction of Coronavirus Clinical Severity显示文摘The virus SARS-CoV2,which causes the Coronavirus disease COVID-19 has become a pandemic and has spread to every inhabited continent.Given the increasing caseload,there is an urgent need to augment clinical skills in order to identify from among the many mild cases the few that will progress to critical illness.We present a first step towards building an artificial intelligence(AI)framework,with predictive analytics(PA)capabilities applied to real patient data,to provide rapid clinical decision-making support.COVID-19 has presented a pressing need as a)clinicians are still developing clinical acumen given the disease’s novelty,and b)resource limitations in a rapidly expanding pandemic require difficult decisions relating to resource allocation.The objectives of this research are:(1)to algorithmically identify the combinations of clinical characteristics of COVID-19 that predict outcomes,and(2)to develop a tool with AI capabilities that will predict patients at risk for more severe illness on initial presentation.The predictive models learn from historical data to help predict specifically who will develop acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS),a severe outcome in COVID-19.Our experimental results based on two hospitals in Wenzhou,Zhejang,China identify features most predictive of ARDS in COVID-19 initial presentation which would not have stood out to clinicians.A mild increase in elevated alanine aminotransferase(ALT)(a liver enzyme)),a presence of myalgias(body aches),and an increase in hemoglobin,in this order,are the clinical features,on presentation,that are the most predictive.Those two centers’COVID-19 case series symptoms on initial presentation can help predict severe outcomes.Predictive models that learned from historical data of patients from two Chinese hospitals achieved 70%to 80%accuracy in predicting severe cases. | Xiangao Jiang Megan Coffee Anasse Bari Junzhang Wang Xinyue Jiang Jianping Huang Jichan Shi Jianyi Dai Jing Cai Tianxiao Zhang Zhengxing Wu Guiqing He Yitong Huang | 2020 | Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,4: | 15 |
| 2 | Effect of the column height on the performance of liquid-solid fluidized bed for the separation of coarse slime显示文摘A liquid-solid fluidized bed separator,used for the separation of coarse slime,was developed.Test particles sized in the range from 0.25 to 0.5,0.5 to 1.0,and 0.25 to 1.0 mm were separated in the liquid-solid fluidized bed.Beds with column heights of 1200,1500,and 1800 mm were tried.The clean coal and the tailings were subsequently analyzed by float-sink testing.The results showed that the ash and yield of clean coal both decreased with increasing column height,for all three size fractions,and that the ash of the clean coal obtained from tests on the broader size fraction was less than that from the narrower sized fractions.The separation density decreased with increasing column height.The lowest E value was seen for a column height of 1500 mm,for which conditions the separation density was 1.45 g/cm 3.The E value was 0.084 for the 0.25-0.5 mm fraction but the corresponding separation density was 1.48 g/cm 3,and the E value 0.089,for the broader 0.25-1.0 mm fraction. | Sha Jie Xie Guangyuan Wang Hong Liu Junzhang Tang Ligang | 2012 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,4: | 10 |
| 3 | Effect of Zhuyeshigao granule on tumor necrosis factor-α and inter leukins serum protein levels in rats with radiation esophagitis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Zhuyeshigao granule(ZSG) on tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1(IL-1), IL-2, IL-6, and IL-8 in rats with radiation esophagitis.METHODS: Fifty Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups(10 rats in each group): control(without radiation), saline-treated, and low,medium, and high-dose ISG-treated groups. Rats were given normal saline(10 mL/kg) or 1.15, 2.3,or 4.6 g/kg ZSG by intragastric administration once a day for 7 days. A rat model of radiation esophagitis was established by local irradiation of Co60(490.25 cGy/min, totaling 30 Gy). The administration of ZSG was continued for another 7 days and on the 7th day post-irradiation, inferior vena cava blood was collected.The serum was separated, and TNF-α, IL-1, IL-2, IL-6, and IL-8 protein levels were determined.RESULTS: Inflammatory response factors were found in the serum of each group. | 4 | Decreased nitrous oxide emissions associated with functional microbial genes under bio-organic fertilizer application in vegetable fields显示文摘Bio-organic fertilizers enriched with plant growth-promoting microbes(PGPMs)have been widely used in crop fields to promote plant growth and maintain soil microbiome functions.However,their potential effects on N_(2)O emissions are of increasing concern.In this study,an in situ measurement experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of organic fertilizer containing Trichoderma guizhouense(a plant growth-promoting fungus)on soil N_(2)O emissions from a greenhouse vegetable field.The following four treatments were used:no fertilizer(control),chemical fertilizer(NPK),organic fertilizer derived from cattle manure(O),and organic fertilizer containing T.guizhouense(O+T,referring to bio-organic fertilizer).The abundances of soil N cycling-related functional genes(amoA)from ammonium-oxidizing bacteria(AOB)and archaea(AOA),as well as nirS,nirK,and nosZ,were simultaneously determined using quantitative PCR(qPCR).Compared to the NPK plot,seasonal total N_(2)O emissions decreased by 11.7%and 18.7%in the O and O+T plots,respectively,which was attributed to lower NH_(4)^(+)-N content and AOB amoA abundance in the O and O+T plots.The nosZ abundance was significantly greater in the O+T plot,whilst the AOB amoA abundance was significantly lower in the O+T plot than in the O plot.Relative to the organic fertilizer,bio-organic fertilizer application tended to decrease N_(2)O emissions by 7.9%and enhanced vegetable yield,resulting in a significant decrease in yield-scaled N_(2)O emissions.Overall,the results of this study suggested that,compared to organic and chemical fertilizers,bio-organic fertilizers containing PGPMs could benefit crop yield and mitigate N_(2)O emissions in vegetable fields. | Yajun GENG Yiming YUAN Yingcheng MIAO Junzhang ZHI Mengyuan HUANG Yihe ZHANG Hong WANG Qirong SHEN Jianwen ZOU Shuqing LI | 2021 | Pedosphere2021,31,2: | 7 |

| 6 | Chemical-bonds Conjugated SnO2/AgIO4 Hybrids for Degradation of High Concentration Rhodamin B under Visible Light Illumination显示文摘SnO2/AgIO4 hybrids were fabricated by an in-situ synthetic method at room temperature. The structure, morphology, light response range, separation efficiency of the electron-hole pairs and elements of the as-synthesized samples were characterized by adopting X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, respectively. The synergistically photocatalytic degradation mechanism of the as-synthesized composites was also proposed. The experimental results reveal that under the visible light irradiation the as-synthesized SnO2/AgIO4 hybrids can enhance the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of rhodamine B compared to pure samples. With increasing the molar ratios of AgIO4 to SnO2, it displays the trend of first increasing and then decreasing. When it is 1:2 in 150 min, the as-prepared hybrids have the highest degradation efficiency of 93.1%, which increases by 6550.0%, 30.5%, and 1505.0% compared to those of pure SnO2, AgIO4, and TiO2(P25), respectively. Moreover, the Sn-O-Ag cross-linking bonds are formed at the interfaces of SnO2 and AgIO4. | 7 | Hydrothermal Synthesis of Zn2SnO4/Few-Layer Boron Nitride Nanosheets Hybrids as a Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalyst显示文摘Zn2SnO4/few-layer boron nitride nanosheets (FBNNS) hybrids were synthesized via a one-step hydrothermal method. The structures, morphology, optical properties, electron transformation and separation of the as-prepared products were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electrical microscopy, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, respectively. Rhodamine B was used to evaluate the photocatalytic activities of the as-prepared samples under visible light illumination. The photocatalytic mechanism was also explored. Experimental results showed that the degradation efficiency of rhodamine B was firstly increased and then decreased with increasing the usage amount of FBNNS. When it was 9 wt% based on the weight of Zn2SnO4, the degradation efficiency of the as-prepared Zn2SnO4/FBNNS-9 wt% composites reached to the maximum of 97.5 % in 180 min, which was higher than 39.2 % of pure Zn2SnO4. Moreover, the holes played mainly active roles in photocatalytic reaction process.
