2Motion Characteristics of the Appendages of Mole Crickets during Burrowing显示文摘Mole crickets,Gryllotalpa orientalis,have a pair of fully specialized forelegs for burrowing and employ an efficient underground excavating pattern,which provides excellent biological example for design of bionic underground excavation equipment.In this study,the excavating pattern and kinematic features of mole crickets were obtained by using high-speed motion capture system and employing a transparent hydrogel as the analogue for soil.The two-dimensional motion characteristics of the forelegs of mole crickets during burrowing were captured and analyzed.The results show that the forelegs of the mole cricket employ a unique excavating pattern,which consists of foreword digging and horizontal expansion.We label this pattern a digging-expanding mode.An excavating cycle includes the digging and expanding motion of the forelegs,rotation caused by the midlegs and hindlegs,and forward thrust by the hindlegs.The excavating motion of the left and right forelegs is alternately carried out.This study can inspire the design of bionic tunnelling mechanisms and underground excavation equipment.Yan Zhang Jiafeng Cao Qi Wang Pengfei Wang Yueying Zhu Junxia Zhang 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,2:1

6EphA3 deficiency in the hypothalamus promotes high-fat diet-induced obesity in mice显示文摘Erythropoietin-producing hepatocellular carcinoma A3(EphA3)is a member of the largest subfamily of tyrosine kinase receptors-Eph receptors.Previous studies have shown that EphA3 is associated with tissue development.Recently,we have found that the expression of EphA3 is elevated in the hypothalamus of mice with diet-induced obesity(DIO).However,the role of EphA3 in hypothalamic-controlled energy metabolism remains unclear.In the current study,we demonstrated that the deletion of EphA3 in the hypothalamus by CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing promotes obesity in male mice with high-fat diet feeding rather than those with normal chow diet feeding.Moreover,the deletion of hypothalamic EphA3 promotes high-fat DIO by increasing food intake and reducing energy expenditure.Knockdown of EphA3 leads to smaller intracellular vesicles in GT1-7 cells.The current study reveals that hypothalamic EphA3 plays important roles in promoting DIO.Jubiao Zhang Yang Chen Lihong Yan Xin Zhang Xiaoyan Zheng Junxia Qi Fen Yang Juxue Li 2023The Journal of Biomedical Research2023,37,3:0
7Bioinformatics Analysis of Xylanase xynMF13-GH10 Gene from Mangrove Fungi显示文摘[Objectives]The paper was to analyze and predict the structure and characteristics of xylanase xynMF13-GH10 gene and its encoded protein.[Methods]xynMF13-GH10 gene was predicted by NCBI and various information analysis tools in ExPASy website,as well as SignaIP 5.0,DNAman,TMHMM,SOPMA and SWISS-Model,and the characteristics and functions of protein structure encoded by the gene were predicted.[Results]The gene is 1332 bp in length,the coding region is 1-1332 bp,and the gene encodes 443 amino acids.The xynMF13-GH10 gene has high homology with xylanase in many species,and it has the highest homology with Paraphaeosphaeria sporulosa endoxylanase-like protein,with the consistency reaching 78.91%and e-value reaching 2e-159.The secondary structure consists of 48.31%random curl,30.25%α-helix structure,16.70%extended chain and 4.74%β-corner.[Conclusions]The results provide a reference for revealing the physiological function and expression regulation mechanism of xynMF13-GH10 gene in the future.Junxia SONG Wanting WU Hongbing QI 2022Asian Agricultural Research2022,14,5:0
8Study on Solid Fermentation and Antioxidant Function of Natto显示文摘[Objectives]To study the optimum conditions of solid fermentation of natto with antioxidant function as an index.[Methods]Single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment were designed to study the effects of temperature,time,initial pH and inoculum amount on the antioxidant activity of natto solid fermentation.The optimum conditions of natto solid fermentation were determined and the antioxidant ac-tivity of natto extract was compared.[Results]The optimal fermentation conditions were as follows:temperature 32℃,initial pH 7.0,inocu-lation amount 8%,fermentation time 32 h.The hydroxyl radical scavenging rate of natto solid fermentation crude extract was the highest,which was 82.7%.The optimized nato fermentation extract showed stronger scavenging ability for-OH and O,:,and showed obvious dose-effect relationship.ICso was 3.63 and 4.24 mg/mL,respectively,and the scavenging efficiency was 1.3 and 1.9 times higher than that of the unoptimized fermentation extract,respectively.[Conclusions]Natto is rich in nattokinase and other functional factors,and its antioxidant ac-tivity can be improved by optimizing fermentation technology,so that natto products can be widely used,including cosmetic raw materials,nat-to skin care soap,health food and medicine,etc.,and have a broader development prospect.Junxia SONG Hongbing QI Yanhong MAO 2024Asian Agricultural Research2024,16,1:0
9The theory of critical flicker fusion frequency and its application in cataracts显示文摘Background:Due to media opacity,it is usually difficult to accurately evaluate the postoperative visual acuity in cataracts patients.As a small and portable tool,the critical flicker fusion frequency(CFF)device reflects the temporal resolution of visual function and has been widely used in clinical research.However,poor understanding of the technique and equipment limitations have restricted its clinical application in China.Main text:There was a decrease in the CFF value in various ophthalmic diseases,indicating that the CFF is sensitive to detect visual functional changes.A number of studies have shown that the CFF test can accurately distinguish patients with simple cataracts from those with cataracts combined with fundus disease,and,as a visual test,it can more accurately predict postoperative visual acuity without being affected by media opacity.This study comprehensive reviews the basic principles of CFF and its application in ophthalmology,especially in cataracts.Conclusions:As one of the tools for dynamic visual function detection,the CFF test could help doctors to assess the possible presence of fundus disease in cataracts patients,especially in eyes with dense cataracts,and more precisely provide a reasonable visual prognosis than other available visual tests.Guangcan Xu Junxia Fu Haolan Qi Linyu Li Wenqian Chen Yi Gao Tianju Ma Zi Ye Zhaohui Li 2023Advances in Ophthalmology Practice and Research2023,3,1:0
