1Providing personalized converged services based on flexible network reconfiguration显示文摘Recent developments show a progressing convergence of networks, services, and applications, which results in the necessity for new approaches to provide a ubiquitous experience on converged networks for specialized high data-rate services. A fundamental diversifying attribute for the future physical network convergence paradigm is pressing. In this paper, we make researches on converged resource reconfiguration model of substrate physical network based on hardware virtualization and provide a service oriented network architecture as a network convergence primitive. Based on the idea of hardware virtualization which is performed by platform deformation and component processing with reconfiguration (here, they are realized as reconfigurable routers (RR)), the substrate converged network, which inter-connects various access networks by reconfigurable routers, could be mapped into multiplex service oriented logical networks, supports dynamic reconfiguration due to diversified quality of services under heterogeneous environment, and therefore provides more flexible and high- speed multiple services. In addition, to demonstrate the generality of our model, we provide a prototype of reconfigurable router. The design, implementation and task scheduling as well as both hardware and software reconfiguration process of reconfigurable router are discussed in detail. 2Survivable Virtual Network Mapping Using Optimal Backup Topology in Virtualized SDN显示文摘Software-Defined Network architecture offers network virtualization through a hypervisor plane to share the same physical substrate among multiple virtual networks.However,for this hypervisor plane,how to map a virtual network to the physical substrate while guaranteeing the survivability in the event of failures,is extremely important.In this paper,we present an efficient virtual network mapping approach using optimal backup topology to survive a single link failure with less resource consumption.Firstly,according to whether the path splitting is supported by virtual networks,we propose the OBT-Ⅰ and OBT-Ⅱ algorithms respectively to generate an optimal backup topology which minimizes the total amount of bandwidth constraints.Secondly,we propose a Virtual Network Mapping algorithm with coordinated Primary and Backup Topology(VNM-PBT)to make the best of the substrate network resource.The simulation experiments show that our proposed approach can reduce the average resource consumption and execution time cost,while improving the request acceptance ratio of VNs.WANG Zhiming WU Jiangxing WANG Yu QI Ning LAN Julong 2014China Communications2014,11,2:14
3Reliable and Load Balance-Aware Multi-Controller Deployment in SDN显示文摘Software Defined Networking(SDN) provides flexible network management by decoupling control plane and data plane. However, such separation introduces the issues regarding the reliability of the control plane and controller load imbalance in the distributed SDN network, which will cause the low network stability and the poor controller performance. This paper proposes Reliable and Load balance-aware Multi-controller Deployment(RLMD) strategy to address the above problems. Firstly, we establish a multiple-controller network model and define the relevant parameters for RLMD. Then, we design the corresponding algorithms to implement this strategy. By weighing node efficiency and path quality, Controller Placement Selection(CPS) algorithm is introduced to explore the reliable deployments of the controllers. On this basis, we design Multiple Domain Partition(MDP) algorithm to allocate switches for controllers according to node attractability and controller load balancing rate, which could realize the reasonable domain planning. 4A Distributed Decision Mechanism for Controller Load Balancing Based on Switch Migration in SDN显示文摘Software Defined Networking(SDN) provides flexible network management by decoupling control plane from data plane. And multiple controllers are deployed to improve the scalability and reliability of the control plane, which could divide the network into several subdomains with separate controllers. However, such deployment introduces a new problem of controller load imbalance due to the dynamic traffic and the static configuration between switches and controllers. To address this issue, this paper proposes a Distribution Decision Mechanism(DDM) based on switch migration in the multiple subdomains SDN network. Firstly, through collecting network information, it constructs distributed migration decision fields based on the controller load condition. Then we choose the migrating switches according to the selection probability, and the target controllers are determined by integrating three network costs, including data collection, switch migration and controller state synchronization. Finally, we set the migrating countdown to achieve the ordered switch migration. 5EARS: Intelligence-Driven Experiential Network Architecture for Automatic Routing in Software-Defined Networking显示文摘Software-Defined Networking(SDN)adapts logically-centralized control by decoupling control plane from data plane and provides the efficient use of network resources.However,due to the limitation of traditional routing strategies relying on manual configuration,SDN may suffer from link congestion and inefficient bandwidth allocation among flows,which could degrade network performance significantly.In this paper,we propose EARS,an intelligence-driven experiential network architecture for automatic routing.EARS adapts deep reinforcement learning(DRL)to simulate the human methods of learning experiential knowledge,employs the closed-loop network control mechanism incorporating with network monitoring technologies to realize the interaction with network environment.The proposed EARS can learn to make better control decision from its own experience by interacting with network environment and optimize the network intelligently by adjusting services and resources offered based on network requirements and environmental conditions.Under the network architecture,we design the network utility function with throughput and delay awareness,differentiate flows based on their size characteristics,and design a DDPGbased automatic routing algorithm as DRL decision brain to find the near-optimal paths for mice and elephant flows.To validate the network architecture,we implement it on a real network environment.Extensive simulation results show that EARS significantly improve the network throughput and reduces the average packet delay in comparison with baseline schemes(e.g.OSPF,ECMP).Yuxiang Hu Ziyong Li Julong Lan Jiangxing Wu Lan Yao 2020China Communications2020,17,2:4

7A Safe and Reliable Heterogeneous Controller Deployment Approach in SDN显示文摘Software-Defined Networking(SDN)provides flexible and global network management by decoupling control plane from data plane,and multiple controllers are deployed in the network in a logically centralized and physically distributed way.However,the existing approaches generally deploy the controllers with the same type in the network,which easily causes homogeneous controller common-mode fault.To this end,this paper proposes heterogeneous controller deployment in the SDN,considering the different types of controllers and relevant criteria(e.g.,delay,control link interruption rate,and controller fault rate).Then,we introduce a Safe and Reliable Heterogeneous Controller Deployment(SRHCD)approach,consisting of two stages.Stage 1 determines the type and the number of heterogeneous controllers required for the SDN network based on the dynamic programming.Stage 2 divides the SDN network into multiple subnets by k-means algorithm and improves the genetic algorithm to optimize the heterogeneous controller deployment in these SDN subnets to ensure reliable switch-controller communications.Finally,the simulation results show that the proposed approach can effectively reduce the control plane fault rate and increase the attack difficulties.Besides,the switch-controller delay has been lowered by 16.5%averagely.Peng Yi Tao Hu Yanze Qu Liang Wang Hailong Ma Yuxiang Hu Julong Lan 2021China Communications2021,18,8:2

9Traffic Engineering Based on Deep Reinforcement Learning in Hybrid IP/SR Network显示文摘Segment Routing(SR)is a new routing paradigm based on source routing and provide traffic engineering(TE)capabilities in IP network.By extending interior gateway protocol(IGP),SR can be easily applied to IP network.However,upgrading current IP network to a full SR one can be costly and difficult.Hybrid IP/SR network will last for some time.Aiming at the low flexibility problem of static TE policies in the current SR networks,this paper proposes a Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL)based TE scheme.The proposed scheme employs multi-path transmission and use DRL to dynamically adjust the traffic splitting ratio among different paths based on the network traffic distribution.As a result,the network congestion can be mitigated and the performance of the network is improved.Simulation results show that our proposed scheme can improve the throughput of the network by up to 9%than existing schemes.Bo Chen Penghao Sun Peng Zhang Julong Lan Youjun Bu Juan Shen 2021China Communications2021,18,10:1
10PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND COMPARISON OF THREE COUNTING BLOOM FILTER SCHEMES显示文摘The Counting Bloom Filter(CBF) is a kind of space-efficient data structure that extends a Bloom filter so as to allow approximate multiplicity queries on a dynamic multi-set.This paper evaluates the performance of multiplicity queries of three simple CBF schemes-the Na?ve Counting Bloom Filter(NCBF), the Space-Code Bloom Filter(SCBF) and the d-left Counting Bloom Filter(dlCBF)-using metrics of space complexity and counting error under both uniform and zipfian multiplicity distributions.We compare their counting error under same space complexity, and their space complexity when similar counting errors are achieved respectively.Our results show that dlCBF is the best while SCBF is the worst in terms of both space-efficiency and accuracy.Furthermore, the performance gap between dlCBF and the others has a trend of being enlarged with the increment of space occupation or counting accuracy.Zhang Jin Wu Jiang-xing Lan Julong Liu Jianqiang 2009Journal of Electronics(China)2009,26,3:1

13A SCHEDULING ALGORITHM USING COMPENSATING ROUND ROBIN IN PACKET-SWTICHING BROADBAND NETWORKS显示文摘A new approximation of fair queuing called Compensating Round Robin (CRR)is presented in this paper. The algorithm uses packet-by-packet scheduler with a compensating measure. It achieves good fairness in terms of throughput, requires only O(1) time complexity to process a packet, and is simple enough to be implemented in hardware. After the performances are analyzed, the fairness and packet loss rate of the algorithm are simulated. This paper tries to find an efficient way in combining dynamic resource sensing with traffic character and requirements in virtual network, based on that an intelligent cognition based virtual network resources management model has been put forward. We design a network topology view by coloring network topology matrix with current resources model. 15DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF A PIPELINED FORWARDING ENGINE显示文摘Recent advances in broadband technology have caused forwarding engines to handle pack- ets with over 10 gigabit per second. In this paper, we present a high-speed forwarding pipeline which can finish all of the routing and forwarding tasks in the way of pipelining. We also establish the analysis model of the pipeline with which one can evaluate some key performance parameters of the forwarding engine such as forwarding rate and forwarding delay.
