1A Possible Dynamic Mechanism for Rapid Production of the Extreme Hourly Rainfall in Zhengzhou City on 20 July 2021显示文摘In this study,the unprecedented extreme rainfall event during 19-20 July 2021,which caused devastating flooding in Zhengzhou City and its nearby areas,is examined based on observational data analysis and WRF model 40-h simulations on 1-km horizontal resolution.The results show that the model successfully reproduces(i)major synopticscale weather systems(i.e.,the western Pacific subtropical high,the Tibetan high,two typhoons,and the Huang-Huai cyclone),(ii)convective initiation along the east to north edge of the Songshan Mountain,where orographic lifting is obvious,and(iii)subsequent formation of the convective storm producing the extreme rainfall in Zhengzhou.In particular,the model generates the maximum rainfall rate of 233 mm h^(-1)and 40-h accumulated rainfall of 704 mm,corresponding well to the observed extreme values of 201.9 mm h^(-1)and 818 mm,at nearly observed timing and location.Importantly,the model reproduces an intense quasi-stationary,well-organized meso-γ-scale convective system,surrounded by an arc-shaped convergence zone,allowing the development of convective updrafts in a three-quarter circle around the convective system,in a way similar to“multidirectional pumping,”attracting all associated precipitation overlaid and concentrated into the same trailing region to generate the extreme hourly rainfall over Zhengzhou.Our study emphasizes the significant contribution of the unique dynamic structure of the well-organized meso-γ-scale convective system to the record-high hourly rainfall.A possible dynamic mechanism for short-time extreme rainfall production is proposed.That is,the arc-shaped convergence zone of the mesoscale convective system,acting like multidirectional lifting pumps,transports precipitation from different directions into the same region,and thus produces the extreme rainfall.The results gained herein may shed new light on better understanding and forecasting of short-time extreme rainfall.Jinfang YIN Haodong GU Xudong LIANG Miao YU Jisong SUN Yanxin XIE Feng LI Chong WU 2022Journal of Meteorological Research2022,36,1:17
2Science and Prediction of Heavy Rainfall over China:Research Progress since the Reform and Opening-Up of New China显示文摘This paper reviews the major progress on development of the science and prediction of heavy rainfall over China since the beginning of the reform and opening-up of new China(roughly between 1980 and 2019).The progress of research on the physical mechanisms of heavy rainfall over China is summarized from three perspectives:1)the relevant synoptic weather systems,2)heavy rainfall in major sub-regions of China,and 3)heavy rainfall induced by typhoons.The development and application of forecasting techniques for heavy rainfall are summarized in terms of numerical weather prediction techniques and objective forecasting methods.Greatly aided by the rapid progress in meteorological observing technology and substantial improvement in electronic computing,studies of heavy rainfall in China have advanced to investigating the evolution of heavy-rain-producing storms and observational analysis of the cloud microphysical features.A deeper and more systematic understanding of the synoptic systems of importance to the production of heavy rainfall has also been developed.Operational forecast of heavy rainfall in China has changed from subjective weather event forecasts to a combination of both subjective and objective quantitative precipitation forecasts,and is now advancing toward probabilistic quantitative precipitation forecasts with the provision of forecast uncertainty information.Yali LUO Jisong SUN Ying LI Rudi XIA Yu DU Shuai YANG Yuanchun ZHANG Jing CHEN Kan DAI Xueshun SHEN Haoming CHEN Feifan ZHOU Yimin LIU Shenming FU Mengwen WU Tiangui XIAO Yangruixue CHEN Huiqi LI Mingxin LI 2020Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,3:10
3Mechanism Study of Chlorine Release During Biomass Pyrolysis显示文摘以稻草为主要研究对象,以含氯生物质模化物为对照,通过管式炉、热重红外联用以及理论计算,对生物质中无机氯的热解析出机制进行探索。管式炉热解试验表明:低温下(200~600℃1稻草和模化物中的KCl可以与活性基团反应而析出HCl;灰成分对低温条件下氯析出的过程可能有催化促进作用;模化物中的氯在高温区(〉600℃1主要以气态碱金属氯化物形式析出。TG.FTIR试验表明:稻草热解脱挥发分过程与HCl的析出之间存在直接的关联;管式炉稻草热解过程在较低温度条件下析出的cl是HCl;在高温区,碱金属氯化物和灰成分Si02之间未发生显著的化学反应。理论计算表明:生物质中的Cl是以碱金属氯化物形式存在的;碱金属氯化物在高温下(〉700℃)主要以蒸汽态进入气相;碱金属氯化物与SiO2的反应在高温下(800-900℃)可以进行。WU Peng YU Chunjiang Bai Jisong Li lian ming Huang Fang 2013中国电机工程学报2013,33,11:8

5On the Diurnal Cycle of Heavy Rainfall over the Sichuan Basin during 10–18 August 2020显示文摘A sustained heavy rainfall event occurred over the Sichuan basin in southwest China during 10–18 August 2020,showing pronounced diurnal rainfall variations with nighttime peak and afternoon minimum values,except on the first day.Results show that the westward extension of the anomalously strong western Pacific subtropical high was conducive to the maintenance of a southerly low-level jet(LLJ)in and to the southeast of the basin,which favored continuous water vapor transport and abnormally high precipitable water in the basin.The diurnal cycle of rainfall over the basin was closely related to the periodic oscillation of the LLJ in both wind speed and direction that was caused by the combination of inertial oscillation and terrain thermal forcing.The nocturnally enhanced rainfall was produced by moist convection mostly initiated during the evening hours over the southwest part of the basin where high convective available potential energy with moister near-surface moist air was present.The convective initiation took place as cold air from either previous precipitating clouds from the western Sichuan Plateau or a larger-scale northerly flow met a warm and humid current from the south.It was the slantwise lifting of the warm,moist airflow above the cold air,often facilitated by southwest vortices and quasi-geostrophic ascent,that released the convective instability and produced heavy rainfall.Rudi XIA Yali LUO Da-Lin ZHANG Mingxin LI Xinghua BAO Jisong SUN 2021Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,12:2
6Preparation of high selectivity silicalite-1 membranes by two-step in situ hydrothermal synthesis显示文摘High selectivity silicalite-1 membranes were synthesized on silica tubes by in situ hydrothermal synthesis. Using a two-step synthesis, a membrane with a separation factor of 99 was prepared for separating an ethanol/water mixture at 60°C. The average (n = 4) flux and separation factor of the membranes were 0.47 kg m-2 h-1 and 89, respectively. The membranes exhibited high reproducibility, and the relative standard deviation of the average (n = 4) flux and separation factor were only 5.3% and 9.2%, respectively. 16COVID-19 lockdown has indirect,non-equivalent effects on activity patterns of Reeves's Pheasant(Syrmaticus reevesii)and sympatric species显示文摘The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought massive shifts in human activities through a global blockade,directly affecting wildlife survival.However,the indirect impacts of changes in human activities are often easily overlooked.We conducted surveys of Reeves's Pheasant(Syrmaticus reevesii)and its sympatric species by camera traps in forest-type nature reserves in three different scenarios:pre-lockdown,lockdown and postlockdown.An increase in livestock activities observed during the lockdown and post-lockdown period in our study area provided us an opportunity to investigate the indirect impact of the lockdown on wildlife.The prelockdown period was used as a baseline to compare any changes in trends of relative abundance index,activity patterns and temporal spacing of targeted species and livestock.During the lockdown period,the relative abundance index of livestock increased by 50%and there was an increase in daytime activity.Reeves's Pheasant showed avoidance responses to almost all sympatric species and livestock in three different periods,and the livestock avoidance level of Reeves's Pheasant during the lockdown period was significantly and positively correlated with the relative abundance index of livestock.Species-specific changes in activity patterns of study species were observed,with reduced daytime activities of Hog Badger and Raccoon Dog during and after the confinement periods.This study highlights the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown on the responses of wildlife by considering the changes in their temporal and spatial use before,during and after lockdown.The knowledge gained on wildlife during reduced human mobility because of the pandemic aids in understanding the effect of human disturbances and developing future conservation strategies in the shared space,to manage both wildlife and livestock.Junqin Hua Shan Tian Shuai Lu Ziqiang Zhu Xinjie Huang Jisong Tao Jianqiang Li Jiliang Xu 2023Avian Research2023,14,2:1

19Genetic Algorithms for Auto-Clustering in KDD显示文摘In solving the clustering problem in the context of knowledge discovery in databases (KDD), the traditional methods, for example, the K-means algorithm and its variants, usually require the users to provide the number of clusters in advance based on the pro-information. Unfortunately, the number of clusters in general is unknown to the users who are usually short of pro-information. Therefore, the clustering calculation becomes a tedious trial-and-error work, and the result is often not global optimal especially when the number of clusters is large. In this paper, a new dynamic clustering method based on genetic algorithms (GA) is proposed and applied for auto-clustering of data entities in large databases. The algorithm can automatically cluster the data according to their similarities and find the exact number of clusters. 20CO_(2)-elevated cell-free protein synthesis显示文摘Gases are the vital nutrition of all organisms as the precursor of metabolism pathways.As a potential biological process,protein synthesis is inevitably regulated by gas transport and utilization.However,the effect of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))present in many metabolic pathways on protein synthesis has not been studied well.In this work,carbon dioxide combined with oxygen was employed for cell-free protein synthesis(CFPS)in the tube-in-tube reactor with precise control of gas concentration.In this in vitro system,gases could directly affect the protein synthesis process without transmembrane transport.Varied concentrations of carbon dioxide(0-1%)and constant oxygen concentration(21%)were employed for CFPS to assess the effects.The cell-free reactions with 0.3%CO_(2) and 21%O_(2) showed the highest protein yields.The combined effect of CO_(2) and O_(2) also resulted in relatively high protein expression under high oxygen conditions(0.3%CO_(2) and 100%O_(2)).Moreover,metabolomics assays were performed to gain insight into metabolic changes,which showed that CO_(2) slightly improved energy metabolism and redox balance.In particular,the extra supplied CO_(2) activated the decarboxylating reactions and removed toxic metabolites to recover the protein synthesis activity.The exploration of CO_(2) on protein synthesis could provide guiding implications for basic studies and biomanufacturing.Xiaomei Lin Caijin Zhou Ting Wang Xiaoting Huang Junxin Chen Zhixia Li Jisong Zhang Yuan Lu 2022Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2022,7,3:0
