1Wnt and BMP signaling crosstalk in regulating dental stem cells:Implications in dental tissue engineering显示文摘Tooth is a complex hard tissue organ and consists of multiple cell types that are regulated by important signaling pathways such as Wnt and BMP signaling.Serious injuries and/or loss of tooth or periodontal tissues may significantly impact aesthetic appearance,essential oral functions and the quality of life.Regenerative dentistry holds great promise in treating oral/dental disorders.The past decade has witnessed a rapid expansion of our understanding of the biological features of dental stem cells,along with the signaling mechanisms governing stem cell self-renewal and differentiation.In this review,we first summarize the biological characteristics of seven types of dental stem cells,including dental pulp stem cells,stem cells from apical papilla,stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth,dental follicle precursor cells,periodontal ligament stem cells,alveolar bone-derived mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),and MSCs from gingiva.We then focus on how these stem cells are regulated by bone morphogenetic protein(BMP)and/or Wnt signaling by examining the interplays between these pathways.Lastly,we analyze the current status of dental tissue engineering strategies that utilize oral/dental stem cells by harnessing the interplays between BMP and Wnt pathways.We also highlight the challenges that must be addressed before the dental stem cells may reach any clinical applications.Thus,we can expect to witness significant progresses to be made in regenerative dentistry in the coming decade.Fugui Zhang Jinlin Song Hongmei Zhang Enyi Huang Dongzhe Song Viktor Tollemar Jing Wang Jinhua Wang Maryam Mohammed Qiang Wei Jiaming Fan Junyi Liao Yulong Zou Feng Liu Xue Hu Xiangyang Qu Liqun Chen Xinyi Yu Hue H.Luu Michael J.Lee Tong-Chuan He Ping Ji 2016Genes & Diseases2016,3,4:16
2Flame propagation characteristics and flame structures of zirconium particle cloud in a small-scale chamber显示文摘Flame propagating through zirconium particle cloud in a small-scale vertical rectangle chamber was investigated experimentally.In the experiments,the zirconium quoted 99% purity was used and the diameter of particles was distributed 1-22 μm.The zirconium dust was dispersed into the chamber by air flow and ignited by an electrode spark.A high-speed video camera was used to record the images of the propagating flame.Micro-thermocouples,schlieren optical system and microscopic lens were used to obtain temperature profiles and flame structure,respectively.Based on the experimental results,flame propagation characteristics and flame structure of zirconium particle cloud were analyzed.The propagation velocity of the flame is quite slow in the initial 14 ms and then accelerates to maximum value.Subsequently,the propagation velocity of the flame almost keeps constant.The combustion zone width of zirconium particle cloud is 5-6 mm.Smaller particles burn mainly at the leading edge of combustion zone in the width of 1.4 mm followed by larger particles burning 1.4-6 mm behind the leading edge of the combustion zone.Gas phase flame is not seen in zirconium particle cloud and the combustion time of single zirconium particle is 1-5 ms,which depends on its original size.The preheated zone is 7-8 mm thickness ahead of the combustion zone and intensive chemical reaction takes place at 490 K.The maximum flame temperature increases at lower concentrations,reaches the maximum value,and then decreases slightly at higher concentrations.DING YiBin SUN JinHua HE XueChao WANG QiuHong YIN Yi XU Yao Chen XianFeng 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,34:8

4Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). 7A convolution algorithm to calculate differential cross sections of the Ring effect in the Earth's atmosphere based on rotational Raman scattering显示文摘The Ring effect refers to the filling in of Fraunhofer lines, which is mainly attributed to the rotational Raman scattering of solar spectra by N2 and O2 molecules in the atmosphere. The Ring effect is one of the most significant factors affecting the accuracy of retrieving concentrations of atmospheric trace gases, such as NO2 and SO2, from satellite observations through differential optical absorption spectroscopy. First in this study, the solar spectrum measured by the Ozone Monitoring Instrument onboard NASA Aura is convolved with the rotational Raman cross section of the atmosphere, which is calculated from the rotational Raman cross sections of N2 and O2 molecules, and divided by the original solar spectrum. The slowly varying term is removed by fitting it with a cubic polynomial to obtain the differential Ring spectrum. The results agree well with the calculations using a radiative transfer model (R2=0.9663). Second, the differential Ring spectrum is computed using two fixed wavelengths of 410 nm and 488 nm, and the resulting differential Ring spectra are similar to that calculated with varying wavelengths and agree well with the calculation using the radiative transfer model (R2=0.9624 and 0.9639 respectively). The computation time using the fixed wavelength is about 0.128% of that using a varying wavelength. 8Effects of PyC shell thickness on the microstructure,ablation resistance of SiCnws/PyC-C/C-ZrC-SiC composites显示文摘SiC nanowires/pyrocarbon(SiCnws/PyC)core-shell structure toughenedC/C-ZrC-SiC composites were fabricated by CLVD process,and the influences of PyC shell thickness on the microstructure and ablation resistance of the composites were researched.The results presented that SiCnws/PyC core-shell structure had a linear shape,and the composites became dense with the increasing PyC thickness.When the thickness of PyC shell increased from 0 to 2.4μm,the density and thermal conductivity of the composites was improved gradually,but the coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)decreased firstly and then increased.After the ablation test for 90 s,the ablation rates of the composites decreased continuously as the PyC thickness increased from 0 to 1.4μm,but increased when the PyC thickness was up to 2.4μm.Especially when the PyC thickness was 1.4μm,the linear and mass ablation rates of the composites were 71.25%and 63.01%lower than those of the composites without PyC shell.The reasons behind the remarkable improvement of anti-ablation property were that the proper PyC thickness could alleviate the CTE mismatch to promote the formation of complete oxide coating,improve the thermal conductivity to reduce heat corrosion and enhance the capability to limit the mechanical erosion.Qinchuan He Hejun Li Xuemin Yin Jinhua Lu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,12:4

10First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. 11Design of robust output-feedback repetitive controller for class of linear systems with uncertainties显示文摘Repetitive control, which adds a human-like learning capability to a control system, is widely used in many fields. This paper deals with the problem of designing a robust repetitive-control system based on output feedback for a class of plants with time-varying structured uncertainties. A continuous-discrete two-dimensional hybrid model is established that accurately describes the features of repetitive control so as to enable independent adjustment of the control and learning actions. A sufficient condition for the robust stability of the repetitivecontrol system is given in terms of a linear matrix inequality. The condition is then used to obtain the parameters of the repetitive controller. 12Multi-modal anti-counterfeiting and encryption enabled through silicon-based materials featuring pH-responsive fluorescence and room-temperature phosphorescence显示文摘Nano Research volume 13,pages1614–1619(2020)Cite this article 236 Accesses Metrics details Abstract Optical silicon(Si)-based materials are highly attractive due to their widespread applications ranging from electronics to biomedicine.It is worth noting that while extensive efforts have been devoted to developing fluorescent Si-based structures,there currently exist no examples of Si-based materials featuring phosphorescence emission,severely limiting Si-based wide-ranging optical applications.To address this critical issue,we herein introduce a kind of Si-based material,in which metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are in-situ growing on the surface of Si nanoparticles(SiNPs)assisted by microwave irradiation.Of particular significance,the resultant materials,i.e.,MOFs-encapsulated SiNPs(MOFs@SiNPs)could exhibit pH-responsive fluorescence,whose maximum emission wavelength is red-shifted from 442 to 592 nm when the pH increases from 2 to 13.More importantly,distinct room-temperature phosphorescence(maximum emission wavelength:505 nm)could be observed in this system,with long lifetime of 215 ms.Taking advantages of above-mentioned unique optical properties,the MOFs@SiNPs are further employed as high-quality anti-counterfeiting inks for advanced encryption.In comparison to conventional fluorescence anti-counterfeiting techniques(static fluorescence outputs are generally used,thus being easily duplicated and leading to counterfeiting risk),pH-responsive fluorescence and room-temperature phosphorescence of the resultant MOFs@SiNPs-based ink could offer advanced multi-modal security,which is therefore capable of realizing higher-level information security against counterfeiting.Jinhua Wang Bin Song Jiali Tang Guyue Hu Jingyang Wang Mingyue Cui Yao He 2020Nano Research2020,13,6:3
13Design of equivalent-input-disturbance estimator using a generalized state observer显示文摘In this paper, we present a design method based on the concept of equivalent input disturbance (EID) to reject disturbances for a linear time-invariant system. A generalized state observer (GSO) is used to estimate an EID of the external disturbances, and the pole-assignment algorithm is employed to select the matrices of the GSO. 14Approaching 18%efficiency of ternary organic photovoltaics with wide bandgap polymer donor and well compatible Y6:Y6-1O as acceptor显示文摘A series of ternary organic photovoltaics(OPVs)are fabricated with one wide bandgap polymer D18-Cl as donor,and well compatible Y6 and Y6-1O as acceptor.The open-circuit-voltage(V_(OC))of ternary OPVs is monotonously increased along with the incorporation of Y6-1O,indicating that the alloy state should be formed between Y6 and Y6-1O due to their excellent compatibility.The energy loss can be minimized by incorporating Y6-1 O,leading to the V_(OC)improvement of ternary OPVs.By finely adjusting the Y6-1O content,a power conversion efficiency of 17.91%is achieved in the optimal ternary OPVs with 30 wt%Y6-1O in acceptors,resulting from synchronously improved short-circuit-current density(JSC)of 25.87 mA cm^(-2),fill factor(FF)of 76.92%and V_(OC)of 0.900 V in comparison with those of D18-Cl:Y6 binary OPVs.The JSC and FF improvement of ternary OPVs should be ascribed to comprehensively optimal photon harvesting,exciton dissociation and charge transport in ternary active layers.The more efficient charge separation and transport process in ternary active layers can be confirmed by the magnetophotocurrent and impedance spectroscopy experimental results,respectively.This work provides new insight into constructing highly efficient ternary OPVs with well compatible Y6 and its derivative as acceptor.Xiaoling Ma Anping Zeng Jinhua Gao Zhenghao Hu Chunyu Xu Jae Hoon Son Sang Young Jeong Caixia Zhang Mengyang Li Kai Wang He Yan Zaifei Ma Yongsheng Wang Han Young Woo Fujun Zhang 2021National Science Review2021,8,8:3
15Time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay for quantitative determination of tylosin and tilmicosin in edible animal tissues显示文摘To quantitatively determine tylosin and tilmicosin in edible animal tissues,a time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay(TRFIA) has been developed and validated.For this purpose,desmycosin-O-carboxymethoxylamine-BSA was fixed onto microtiter plates,standards and samples were loaded and,finally,diluted europium-labeled anti-tylosin antibodies were added.Results show that the limit of detection for tylosin was 0.03 ng mL-1 and that for tilmicosin was 0.05 ng mL-1.The recoveries were 73.6% to 120.5%,with coefficients of variation below 15.6% in various biological matrices spiked with tylosin and tilmicosin at concentrations of 50-200 ngg-1.There was good correlation(R2>0.99) between the TRFIA,an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and high performance liquid chromatography data.In conclusion,the new TRFIA is applicable to the detection of tylosin and tilmicosin and is an effective and economical method that will enable high-throughput sample screening.The method is expected to be widely applicable.WEI Shu LE Tao CHEN Yong XU Jian HE HongQiu NIU XiaoDong LUO JinHua 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,15:3
16Microfluidic-enabled ambient-temperature synthesis of ultrasmall bimetallic nanoparticles显示文摘The production of bimetallic nanoparticles with ultrasmall sizes is the constant pursuit in chemistry and materials science because of their promising applications in catalysis,electronics and sensing.Here we report ambient-temperature preparation of bimetallic NPs with tunable size and composition using microfluidic-controlled co-reduction of two metal precursors on silicon surface.Instead of free diffusion of metal ions in bulk system,microfluidic flow could well control the local ions concentration,thus leading to homogenous and controllable reduction rate among different nucleation sites.By controlling precursor concentration,flow rate and reaction time,we rationally design a series of bimetallic NPs including Ag-Cu,Ag-Pd,Cu-Pt,Cu-Pd and Pt-Pd NPs with ultrasmall sizes(~3.0 nm),tight size distributions(relative standard deviation(RSD)<21%),clean surface,and homogenous elemental compositions among particles(standard deviation(SD)of weight ratios<3.5%).This approach provides a facile,green and scalable method toward the synthesis of diverse bimetallic NPs with excellent activity.Huayi Shi Bin Song Runzhi Chen Qiang Zhang Guyue Hu Jing Li Jinhua Wang Xinyu Meng Houyu Wang Yao He 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:2

18Semi-elastic core-shell nanoparticles enhanced the oral bioavailability of peptide drugs显示文摘The rigidity of nanoparticles was newly reported to influence their oral delivery.Semi-elastic nanoparticles can enhance the penetration in mucus and uptake by epithelial cells.However,it is still challenging and unclear that the semi-elastic core-shell nanoparticles can enhance the oral bioavailability of peptide drugs.This study was for the first time to validate the semi-elastic coreshell poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)-lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)as the carrier of the oral peptide drug.The antihypertensive peptide Val-Leu-Pro-Val-Pro(VP5)loaded LNPs(VP5-LNPs)were prepared by a modified thin-film ultrasonic dispersion method.Uptake experiment was performed in Caco-2 and HT-29 cells and monito red by high content screening(HCS)and flow cyto metric(FCM).Pharmacokinetics of VP5-LNPs was carried out in Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats and analyzed by DAS 2.0.The optimal VP5-LNPs had an average particle size of 247.3±3.8 nm,zeta potential of-6.57±0.45 mV and excellent entrapment efficiency(EE)of 89.88%±1.23%.Transmission electron microscope(TEM)and Differential scanning calorimeter(DSC)further confirmed the core-shell structure.VP5-LNPs could increase the cellular uptake in vitro and have a 2.55-fold increase in AUC0-72 h,indicating a great promotion of the o ral bioavailability.The semi-elastic LNPs remarkably improved the oral availability of peptide and could be a promising oral peptide delivery system for peptide drugs in the future.Shengnan Zhao Jinhua Li Fazhan Wang Ting Yu Yang Zhou Lili He Yi Zhang jian Yang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:2

20A novel synthetic small molecule YF-452 inhibits tumor growth through antiangiogenesis by suppressing VEGF receptor 2 signaling显示文摘Tumor angiogenesis is characterized by abnormal vessel morphology, endowing tumor with highly hypoxia and unresponsive toward treatment. To date, mounting angiogenic factors have been discovered as therapeutic targets in antiangiogenic drug development. Among them, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) inhibitors exerts potent antiangiogenic activity in tumor therapy. Therefore, it may provide a valid strategy for cancer treatment through targeting the tumor angiogenesis via VEGFR2 pathway. In this study, we established a high-profile compounds library and certificated a novel compound named N-(N-pyrrolidylacetyl)-9-(4-bromobenzyl)-1,3,4,9-tetrahydro-β-carboline (YF-452), which remarkably inhibited the migration, invasion and tube-like structure formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) with little toxicity invitro. Rat thoracic aorta ring assay indicated that YF-452 significantly blocked the formation of microvascular exvivo. In addition, YF-452 inhibited angiogenesis in chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) and mouse corneal micropocket assays. Moreover, YF-452 remarkably suppressed tumor growth in xenografts mice model. Furthermore, investigation of molecular mechanism revealed that YF-452 inhibited VEGF-induced phosphorylation of VEGFR2 kinase and the downstream protein kinases including extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK), focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and Src.
