| 4 | Scale adaptive fitness evaluation‐based particle swarm optimisation for hyperparameter and architecture optimisation in neural networks and deep learning显示文摘Research into automatically searching for an optimal neural network(NN)by optimi-sation algorithms is a significant research topic in deep learning and artificial intelligence.However,this is still challenging due to two issues:Both the hyperparameter and ar-chitecture should be optimised and the optimisation process is computationally expen-sive.To tackle these two issues,this paper focusses on solving the hyperparameter and architecture optimization problem for the NN and proposes a novel light‐weight scale‐adaptive fitness evaluation‐based particle swarm optimisation(SAFE‐PSO)approach.Firstly,the SAFE‐PSO algorithm considers the hyperparameters and architectures together in the optimisation problem and therefore can find their optimal combination for the globally best NN.Secondly,the computational cost can be reduced by using multi‐scale accuracy evaluation methods to evaluate candidates.Thirdly,a stagnation‐based switch strategy is proposed to adaptively switch different evaluation methods to better balance the search performance and computational cost.The SAFE‐PSO algorithm is tested on two widely used datasets:The 10‐category(i.e.,CIFAR10)and the 100−cate-gory(i.e.,CIFAR100).The experimental results show that SAFE‐PSO is very effective and efficient,which can not only find a promising NN automatically but also find a better NN than compared algorithms at the same computational cost. | Ye‐Qun Wang Jian‐Yu Li Chun‐Hua Chen Jun Zhang Zhi‐Hui Zhan | 2023 | CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2023,8,3: | 0 |

| 13 | Molecular and structural characterization of a promiscuous chalcone synthase from the fern species Stenoloma chusanum显示文摘The key enzymes involved in the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway have been extensively studied in seed plants,but relatively less in ferns.In this study,two 4-Coumarate:coenzyme A ligases(Sc4CL1 and Sc4CL2)and one novel chalcone synthase(ScCHS1)were functionally characterized by mining the Stenoloma chusanum transcriptome database.Recombinant Sc4CLs were able to esterify various hydroxycinnamic acids to corresponding acyl-coenzyme A(CoA).ScCHS1could catalyze p-coumaroyl-CoA,cinnamoyl-CoA,caffeoyl-CoA,and feruloyl-CoA to form naringenin,pinocembrin,eriodictyol,and homoeriodictyol,respectively.Moreover,enzymatic kinetics studies revealed that the optimal substrates of ScCHS1were feruloyl-CoA and caffeoyl-CoA,rather than p-coumaroyl-CoA,which was substantially different from the common CHSs.Crystallographic and sitedirected mutagenesis experiments indicated that the amino acid residues,Leu87,Leu97,Met165,and Ile200,located in the substrate-binding pocket near the B-ring of products,could exert a significant impact on the unique catalytic activity of ScCHS1.Furthermore,overexpression of ScCHS1 in tt4 mutants could partially rescue the mutant phenotypes.Finally,ScCHS1 and Sc4CL1 were used to synthesize flavanones and flavones with multi-substituted hydroxyl and methoxyl B-ring in Escherichia coli,which can effectively eliminate the need for the cytochrome P450 hydroxylation/O-methyltransferase from simple phenylpropanoid acids.In summary,the identification of these important Stenoloma enzymes provides a springboard for the future production of various flavonoids in E.coli. | Rong Ni Meng Niu Jie Fu Hui Tan Ting‐Ting Zhu Jing Zhang Hong‐Xiang Lou Peng Zhang Jian‐Xu Li Ai‐Xia Cheng | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,10: | 1 |

| 18 | An updated classification for the hyper-diverse genus Corydalis(Papaveraceae: Fumarioideae)based on phylogenomic and morphological evidence显示文摘The genus Corydalis, with ca. 530 species, has long been considered taxonomically challenging because of its great variability. Previous molecular analyses,based on a few molecular markers and incomplete taxonomic sampling, were clearly inadequate to delimit sections and subgenera. We have performed phylogenetic analyses of Corydalis and related taxa,using 65 shared protein-coding plastid genes from313 accessions(including 280 samples of ca. 226species of Corydalis) and 152 universal low-copy nuclear genes from 296 accessions(including 271samples of Corydalis) covering all 42 previously recognized sections and five independent “series”.Phylogenetic trees were inferred using Bayesian Inference and Maximum Likelihood. Eight selected morphological characters were estimated using ancestral state reconstructions. Results include:(i) of the three subgenera of Corydalis, two are fully supported by both the plastid and nuclear data;the third,subg. Cremnocapnos, is weakly supported by plastid DNA only, whereas in the nuclear data the two included sections form successive outgroups to the rest of the genus;(ii) among all 42 sections and five“series”, 25 sections and one “series” are resolved as monophyletic in both data sets;(iii) the common ancestor of Corydalis is likely to be a perennial plant with a taproot, yellow flowers with a short saccate spur, linear fruits with recurved fruiting pedicels, and seeds with elaiosomes;(iv) we provide a new classification of Corydalis with four subgenera(of which subg. Bipapillatae is here newly described), 39 sections, 16 of which are consistent with the previous classification, 16 sections have been recircumscribed, one section has been reinstated and six new sections are established. Characters associated with lifespan, underground structures, floral spur, fruit and elaiosomes are important for the recognition of subgenera and sections.
