1Further studies on the numerical simulation of bubble plumes in the cold seepage active region显示文摘Using the occurrence characteristics of bubble plumes in the South China Sea as a reference, this paper continues to study the seismic responses produced by bubble plumes in the cold seepage active region. To make the plume modelling scheme more reasonable, we modified the original modelling scheme and reconstructed a plume water body model based on the variation of its radius as bubbles rise in seawater. The plume seismic records of shot gathers were obtained by forward simulation. The seismic records of single shot show obvious characteristics of a scattering wave field and the periodic characteristics of the model. Seismic records of shot gathers were processed using prestack depth migration. The boundary of its imaging section has a good convergence effect.The migration sections can be imaged distinctly with higher accuracy. The aforementioned studies once again laid a foundation for the further study of the seismic responses produced by plumes. 2Sensitivity analysis of dimensionless parameters for physical simulation of water-flooding reservoir显示文摘A numerical approach to optimize dimensionless parameters of water-flooding porous media flows is proposed based on the analysis of the sensitivity factor defined as the variation ration of a target function with respect to the variation of dimensionless parameters. A complete set of scaling criteria for water-flooding reservoir of five-spot well pattern case is derived from the 3-D governing equations, involving the gravitational force, the capillary force and the compressibility of water, oil and rock. 4Effects of volumetric allocation on heave response of semisubmersible in deep sea显示文摘The configuration of semisubmersibles consisting of pontoons and columns and their corresponding heave motion response in incident progressive waves are examined. The purpose of the present study is to provide a theoretical approach to estimating the effects of volumetric allocation on natural period and response amplitude operator (RAO) in heave motion. We conclude that the amplitude of heave motion response can be considerably suppressed by appropriately adjusting volumetric allocation so that the natural heave period keeps away from the range of wave energy. 5Numerical Simulation of Bubble Plumes and an Analysis of Their Seismic Attributes显示文摘To study the bubble plume's seismic response characteristics,the model of a plume water body has been built in this article using the bubble-contained medium acoustic velocity model and the stochastic medium theory based on an analysis of both the acoustic characteristics of a bubble-contained water body and the actual features of a plume.The finite difference method is used for forward modelling,and the single-shot seismic record exhibits the characteristics of a scattered wave field generated by a plume.A meaningful conclusion is obtained by extracting seismic attributes from the pre-stack shot gather record of a plume.The values of the amplitude-related seismic attributes increase greatly as the bubble content goes up,and changes in bubble radius will not cause seismic attributes to change,which is primarily observed because the bubble content has a strong impact on the plume's acoustic velocity,while the bubble radius has a weak impact on the acoustic velocity.The above conclusion provides a theoretical reference for identifying hydrate plumes using seismic methods and contributes to further study on hydrate decomposition and migration,as well as on distribution of the methane bubble in seawater.LI Canping GOU Limin YOU Jiachun 2017Journal of Ocean University of China2017,16,2:4
6Estimation of extreme wind speed in SCS and NWP by a non-stationary model显示文摘In offshore engineering design, it is considerably significant to have an adequately accurate estimation of marine environmental parameters, in particular, the extreme wind speed of tropical cyclone(TC) with different return periods to guarantee the safety in projected operating life period. Based on the 71-year(1945–2015) TC data in the Northwest Pacific(NWP) by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center(JTWC) of US, a notable growth of the TC intensity is observed in the context of climate change. The fact implies that the traditional stationary model might be incapable of predicting parameters in the extreme events.Therefore, a non-stationary model is proposed in this study to estimate extreme wind speed in the South China Sea(SCS) and NWP. We find that the extreme wind speeds of different return periods exhibit an evident enhancement trend, for instance, the extreme wind speeds with different return periods by nonstationary model are 4.1%–4.4% higher than stationary ones in SCS. Also, the spatial distribution of extreme wind speed in NWP has been examined with the same methodology by dividing the west sea areas of the NWP 0°–45°N, 105°E–130°E into 45 subareas of 5°× 5°, where oil and gas resources are abundant.Similarly, remarkable spacial in-homogeneity in the extreme wind speed is seen in this area: the extreme wind speed with 50-year return period in the subarea(15°N–20°N, 115°E–120°E) of Zhongsha and Dongsha Islands is 73.8 m/s, while that in the subarea of Yellow Sea(30°N–35°N, 120°E–125°E) is only47.1 m/s. 7RUNOFF GENERATION CHARACTERISTICS IN TYPICAL EROSION REGIONS ON THE LOESS PLATEAU显示文摘This paper presents a process-based model for runoff generation on slopes. One dimensional kinematic wave theory combined with the revised Green-Ampt infiltration formula is applied in the model. According to the characteristics of soil and rainfall in the Loess Plateau area, six types of storm are defined, and among them three typical erosion zones that have different values of representative parameters are chosen to simulate the runoff generation processes. The primary hydraulic characteristics of the runoff generation, such as unit discharge, runoff depth, flow velocity, shear stress and ratio of runoff generation, are obtained and analyzed. 9Strength softening models of soil and its application in rainfall-induced landslide simulation显示文摘In this study, strength softening models are developed for exploring rainfall-induced landslide mechanism based on Mohr-Coulomb strength theory with both saturation degree and temporal evolution into consideration. According to the ratio of two time scales available, the model can be classified into three categories, i.e., instant softening model, delay softening model, and coupling softening model. 10Effects of rainfall infiltration on deep slope failure显示文摘With the finite element method and the limit equilibrium method, a numerical model has been established for examining the effects of rainfall infiltration on the stability of slopes. This model is able to availably reflect the variations in pore pressure field in slopes, dead weight of soil, and the softening of soil strength caused by rainfall infiltration. As a case study, an actual landslide located at the Nongji Jixiao in Chongqing is studied to analyze the effects of rainfall infiltration on the seepage field and the slope stability. 11Numerical analysis of rainfall infiltration in the slope with a fracture显示文摘With the finite volume method, a 2D numerical model for seepage in unsaturated soil has been established to study the rainfall infiltration in the fractured slope. The result shows that more rain may infiltrate into the slope due to existing fracture and then the pore pressure rises correspondingly. Very probably, it is one of the crucial factors accounting for slope failure. Furthermore a preliminary study has been conducted to investigate the influence of various fracture and rainfall factors such as the depth, width and location of a crack, surface condition, rainfall intensity and duration. 13High efficient catalytic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural into 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid under benign conditions with nitrogen-doped graphene encapsulated Cu nanoparticles显示文摘Selective oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfual(HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FDCA) as a bioplastics monomer is efficiently promoted by a simple system without noble-metal and base additives. In this work, graphene oxide(GO) was first synthesised by an electrochemical method with flexible graphite paper(FGP) as start carbon material, then, nitrogen-doped graphene(NG) layers encapsulated Cu nanoparticles(NPs) was prepared by one-step thermal treatment of GO supported Cu2+ in flowing NH3 atmosphere. Compared with NG supported Cu NPs prepared by the traditional impregnation method, enhanced catalytic activity was achieved over Cu/NG and an FDCA yield of 95.2% was achieved under mild reaction conditions with tert-butylhydroperoxide(t-BuOOH) as the oxidant. Control experiments with different catalysts and different addition procedure of t-BuOOH showed the yield of HMF and various intermediates during reaction. From the changing of intermediates concentrations and reaction rates, a reaction pathway through HMF-DFF-FFCA-FDCA was proposed. 14Field acoustic measurements of high-speed train sound along BTIR显示文摘In this paper,single-point field measurements of noise radiated from high-speed trains were performed at two sites along Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway(BTIR),aiming at acquiring the realistic acoustic data for validation and verification of physical model and computational prediction.The measurements showed that A-weighted sound pressure levels(SPLs) were between 80 and 87 dBA as trains passed.The maximum noise occurred at the moment when the pantograph arrived,suggesting that pantograph noise was one of the most significant sources.Sound radiated from high-speed trains of BTIR was a typical broadband spectrum with most acoustic power restricted in the range of medium-high frequency from about 400 Hz to 5 kHz.Aerodynamic noise was shown to be the dominant one over other acoustic sources for high-speed trains.YU HuaHua LI JiaChun 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,2:2
15Seepage-stress coupled modeling for rainfall induced loess landslide显示文摘Although rainfall is rare on the Loess Plateau of western China, landslides occur frequently there in rainy season. Surveys report that landslide hazards always follow heavy rains. In this study, a seepage-stress coupling model for rainfall induced landslide is used to examine an actual disastrous event in Yulin by the end of July, 2017. The effects of rainfall duration, rainfall intensity and soil weakening on slope stability are studied in detail. The results illustrate that the safety factor drops sharply at first and then is gradually declining to below 1.05 during additional two days of heavy rain. 18Brain imaging of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease显示文摘The rapidly increasing prevalence of cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease has the potential to create a major worldwide healthcare crisis. Structural MRI studies in patients with Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment are currently attracting considerable interest. It is extremely important to study early structural and metabolic changes, such as those in the hippocampus, entorhinal cortex, and gray matter structures in the medial temporal lobe, to allow the early detection of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease. The microstructural integrity of white matter can be studied with diffusion tensor imaging. Increased mean diffusivity and decreased fractional anisotropy are found in subjects with white matter damage. Functional imaging studies with positron emission tomography tracer compounds enable detection of amyloid plaques in the living brain in patients with Alzheimer's disease. 20Simulation of triaxial response of granular materials by modified DEM显示文摘A modified discrete element method(DEM)with rolling effect taken into consideration is developed to examine macroscopic behavior of granular materials in this study.Dimensional analysis is firstly performed to establish the relationship between macroscopic mechanical behavior,mesoscale contact parameters at particle level and external loading rate.It is found that only four dimensionless parameters may govern the macroscopic mechanical behavior in bulk.The numerical triaxial apparatus was used to study their influence on the mechanical behavior of granular materials.The parametric study indicates that Poisson’s ratio only varies with stiffness ratio,while Young’s modulus is proportional to contact modulus and grows with stiffness ratio,both of which agree with the micromechanical model.The peak friction angle is dependent on both inter-particle friction angle and rolling resistance.The dilatancy angle relies on inter-particle friction angle if rolling stiffness coefficient is sufficiently large.Finally,we have recommended a calibration procedure for cohesionless soil,which was at once applied to the simulation of Chende sand using a series of triaxial compression tests.The responses of DEM model are shown in quantitative agreement with experiments.In addition,stress-strain response of triaxial extension was also obtained by numerical triaxial extension tests.WANG XiaoLiang LI JiaChun 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,12:2
