| 8 | Feed quality and pollution显示文摘Feed quality,the nutritional quality of feed components may affect absorption and digestibility of the feed,and thus the effluent of chemical components from the faeces.In particular,regimen based on high quality feed in aquaculture may reduce effluents and pollution to the surrounding environment. In the first part of the project,feeds were tested in mink trials performed at SSF.Minks were given feed,produced at SSF,based on high (Norse LT 94) and low quality fish meal (FAQ FM),and diets based on shrimp feed produced in China at the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute (YSFRI) and at a shrimp farm (home made),respectively.Analyses of the dietary compositions showed that the fat content was low in the diets produced in China,and that phosphorus content was highest and lowest in the’home made’and the’YSFRI’diets,respectively.The’home made’diet contained low amounts of essential amino acids. The results revealed that the digestibility of dry matter,nitrogen,phosphorus and energy of feed based on Norse LT 94 were significantly higher than that of the other diets.For example,when the minks were fed Norse LT 94 diet,the effluent of N and P were 14% and 12%,but when they were fed the’home made’diet,the effluent of N and P were 38% and 51% respectively.Consequently,the effluents were significantly increased from animals fed feed based on poor quality components,and the results indicated that pollution from aquaculture could be considerably improved by using high quality feed.
