| 3 | The High Energy X-ray telescope (HE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT) is a broadband X-ray and γ-ray(1-3000 ke V) astronomy satellite. One of its three main telescopes is the High Energy X-ray telescope(HE). The main detector plane of HE comprises 18 Na I(Tl)/Cs I(Na) phoswich detectors, where Na I(Tl) is used as the primary detector to measure ~ 20-250 ke V photons incident from the field of view(FOV) defined by collimators, and Cs I(Na) is used as the active shielding detector to Na I(Tl) by pulse shape discrimination. Additionally, Cs I(Na) is used as an omnidirectional γ-ray monitor. The HE collimators have a diverse FOV,i.e. 1.1°×5.7°(15 units), 5.7°×5.7°(2 units), and blocked(1 unit). Therefore, the combined FOV of HE is approximately5.7°×5.7°. Each HE detector has a diameter of 190 mm resulting in a total geometrical area of approximately 5100 cm2, and the energy resolution is ~15% at 60 ke V. For each recorded X-ray event by HE, the timing accuracy is less than 10 μs and the deadtime is less than 10 μs. HE is used for observing spectra and temporal variability of X-ray sources in the 20-250 ke V band either by pointing observations for known sources or scanning observations to unveil new sources. Additionally, HE is used for monitoring the γ-ray burst in 0.2-3 Me V band. | 6 | New possible silver lining for pancreatic cancer therapy:Hydrogen sulfide and its donors显示文摘As one of the most lethal diseases,pancreatic cancer shows a dismal overall prognosis and high resistance to most treatment modalities.Furthermore,pancreatic cancer escapes early detection during the curable period because early symptoms rarely emerge and specific markers for this disease have not been found.Although combinations of new drugs,multimodal therapies,and adjuvants prolong survival,most patients still relapse after surgery and eventually die.Consequently,the search for more effective treatments for pancreatic cancer is highly relevant and justified.As a newly re-discovered mediator of gasotransmission,hydrogen sulfide(H2S)undertakes essential functions,encompassing various signaling complexes that occupy key processes in human biology.Accumulating evidence indicates that H2S exhibits bimodal modulation of cancer development.Thus,endogenous or low levels of exogenous H2S are thought to promote cancer,whereas high doses of exogenous H2S suppress tumor proliferation.Similarly,inhibition of endogenous H2S production also suppresses tumor proliferation.Accordingly,H2S biosynthesis inhibitors and H2S supplementation(H2S donors)are two distinct strategies for the treatment of cancer.Unfortunately,modulation of endogenous H2S on pancreatic cancer has not been studied so far.However,H2S donors and their derivatives have been extensively studied as potential therapeutic agents for pancreatic cancer therapy by inhibiting cell proliferation,inducing apoptosis,arresting cell cycle,and suppressing invasion and migration through exploiting multiple signaling pathways.As far as we know,there is no review of the effects of H2S donors on pancreatic cancer.Based on these concerns,the therapeutic effects of some H2S donors and NO-H2S dual donors on pancreatic cancer were summarized in this paper.Exogenous H2S donors may be promising compounds for pancreatic cancer treatment. | Xu Hua Yan Xiao Jianan Sun Bao Ji Shanshan Luo Bo Wu Chao Zheng Peng Wang Fanxing Xu Keguang Cheng Huiming Hua Dahong Li | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,5: | 4 |

| 8 | A New Gene Conferring the Glabrous Trait in Cucumber Identified Using MutMap显示文摘Tubercles and spines on fruit peel are important commercial traits in cucumber(Cucumis sativus L.). From an ethyl methane sulfonate cucumber mutant library,we discovered a new glabrous mutant that bears no tubercle or spine on fruit peel and fewer and smaller trichomes on the stem and leaves. The new locus is here designated as glabrous2(gl2). Genome sequencing of the mutant and linkage analysis revealed that a non-synonymous mutation in the Csa1G056960 gene rendered the gl2 phenotype. The mutated gene encodes a C-type lectin receptor-like tyrosine protein kinase. | 9 | Genomic and Phenotypic Diversity of Carbapenemase-Producing Enterobacteriaceae Isolates from Bacteremia in China: A Multicenter Epidemiological, Microbiological, and Genetic Study显示文摘Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae(CPE) isolates are recognized as one of the most severe threats to public health. However, the population structure and genetic characteristics of CPE isolates among bloodstream infections(BSIs) are largely unknown. To address this knowledge gap, in this study,we included patients with clinically significant BSIs due to Enterobacterales isolates, recruited from 26 sentinel hospitals in China(2014–2015). CPE isolates were microbiologically and genomically characterized,including their susceptibility profiles, molecular typing, phylogenetic features, and genetic context analysis of carbapenemase-encoding genes. Of the 2569 BSI Enterobacterales isolates enrolled, 42(1.6%) were carbapenemase-positive. Moreover, among the 2242 investigated isolates, 1111(49.6%) extendedspectrum β-lactamase(ESBL)-producing isolates were identified in Escherichia coli(E. coli), Klebsiella pneumoniae(K. pneumoniae), Proteus mirabilis(P. mirabilis), and Klebsiella oxytoca. Whole genome sequencing analysis showed the clonal spread of K. pneumoniae carbapenemase(KPC)-2-producing K. pneumoniae sequence type(ST) 11 and New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase(NDM)-5-producing E. coli ST167 in our collection. Plasmid analysis revealed that carbapenemase-encoding genes were located on multiple plasmids. A high prevalence of biofilm-encoding type 3 fimbriae clusters and yesiniabactin-associated genes was observed in K. pneumoniae isolates. This work demonstrates the high prevalence of ESBLs and the wide dissemination of CPE among BSI isolates in China, which represent real clinical threats. Moreover, our findings first illustrate a more comprehensive genome scenario of CPE isolates among BSIs.
