1The association of benign prostatic hyperplasia with lower urinary tract stones in adult men: A retrospective multicenter study显示文摘Objective:To examine the relationship between benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and the presence of lower urinary tract stones.Methods:We retrospectively reviewed the records of men with lower urinary tract stones who presented to three clinical centers in Korea over a 4-year period.We divided the patients into two groups based on the location of urinary stones:Group 1(bladder calculi)and Group 2(urethral calculi).We compared the characteristics of both groups and performed univariate and multivariate analyses with a logistic regression model to investigate the relationship between BPH and lower urinary tract stones.Results:Of 221 patients,194(87.8%)had bladder calculi and 27(12.2%)had urethral calculi.The mean age of Group 1 was higher than that of Group 2(68.9612.11 years vs.55.7414.20 years,p<0.001).The mean prostate volume of Group 1 was higher than that of Group 2(44.4727.14 mL vs.24.706.41 mL,respectively,p<0.001).Multivariate logistic regression showed that age(OR Z 1.075,95%CI:1.023e1.129)and prostate volume(OR Z 1.069,95%CI:1.017e1.123)were independently associated with increased risk for bladder calculi.Upper urinary tract stones and/or hydronephrosis conferred a 3-fold risk for urethral calculi(OR Z 3.468,95%CI:1.093e10.999).Conclusion:Age and prostate volume are independent risk factors for bladder calculi.In addition,men with upper urinary tract disease are at greater risk for urethral calculi,which may migrate from the upper urinary tract rather than from the bladder.Jae Hung Jung Jinsung Park Won Tae Kim Hong Wook Kim Hyung Joon Kim Sungwoo Hong Hee Jo Yang Hong Chung 2018Asian Journal of Urology2018,5,2:17
2A gastrointestinal stromal tumor of the duodenum masquerading as a pancreatic head tumor显示文摘Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) represents the most common kind of mesenchymal tumor that arises from the alimentary tract. GIST is currently defined as a gastrointestinal tract mesenchymal tumor showing CD117 (c-kit protein) positivity at immunohistochemistry. Throughout the whole length of the gastrointestinal tract, GIST arises most commonly from the stomach followed by the small intestine, the colorectum, and the esophagus. Only 3%-5% of GISTs occur in the duodenum, and especially, if GIST arises from the C loop of the duodenum, it can be difficult to differentiate from the pancreas head mass because of its anatomical proximity. 5Body-centered-cubic martensite and the role on room-temperature tensile properties in Si-added SiVCrMnFeCo high-entropy alloys显示文摘We present a new class of metastable high-entropy alloys(HEAs),triggering deformation-induced martensitic transformation(DIMT)from face-centered-cubic(FCC)to body-centered-cubic(BCC),i.e.,BCC-DIMT.Through the ab-initio calculation based on 1 st order axial interaction model and combined with the Gibbs free energy calculation,the addition of Si is considered as a critical element which enables to reduce the intrinsic stacking fault energy(ISFE)in Si_xV_((9-x))Cr_(10)Mn_5 Fe_(46)Co_(30)(x=2,4,and 7 at.%)alloy system.The ISFE decreases from-30.4 to-35.5 mJ/m^(2)as the Si content increases from 2 to 7 at.%,which well corresponds to the reduced phase stability of FCC against HCP.The BCC-DIMT occurs in all the alloys via intermediate HCP martensite,and the HCP martensite provides nucleation sites of BCC martensite.Therefore,the transformation rate enhances as the Si content increases in an earlier deformation ra nge.However,the BCC-DIMT is also affected by the phase stability of FCC against BCC,and the stability is the highest at the Si content of 7 at.%.Thus,the 7Si alloy presents the moderate transformation rate in the later deformation range.Due to the well-controlled transformation rate and consequent strain-ha rdening rate,the 7Si alloy possesses the superior combination of strength and ductility beyond 1 GPa of tensile strength at room temperature.Our results suggest that the Si addition can be a favorable candidate in various metastable HEAs for the further property improvement.Yong Hee Jo Junha Yang Won-Mi Choi Kyung-Yeon Doh Donghwa Lee Hyoung Seop Kim Byeong-Joo Lee Seok Su Sohn Sunghak Lee 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,17:1

8Effects of cryogenic temperature on tensile and impact properties in a medium-entropy VCoNi alloy显示文摘Multi-principal element alloys usually exhibit outstanding strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures,especially in CrMnFeCoNi and CrCoNi alloys.These remarkable cryogenic properties are attributed to the occurrence of deformation twins,and it is envisaged that a reduced stacking fault energy(SFE)transforms the deformation mechanisms into advantageous properties at cryogenic temperatures.A recently reported high-strength VCoNi alloy is expected to exhibit further notable cryogenic properties.However,no attempt has been made to investigate the cryogenic properties in detail as well as the underlying deformation mechanisms.Here,the effects of cryogenic temperature on the tensile and impact properties are investigated,and the underlying mechanisms determining those properties are revealed in terms of the temperature dependence of the yield strength and deformation mechanism.Both the strength and ductility were enhanced at 77 K compared to 298 K,while the Charpy impact toughness gradually decreased with temperature.The planar dislocation glides remained unchanged at 77 K in contrast to the CrMnFeCoNi and CrCoNi alloys resulting in a relatively constant and slightly increasing SFE as the temperature decreased,which is confirmed via ab initio simulations.However,the deformation localization near the grain boundaries at 298 K changed into a homogeneous distribution throughout the whole grains at 77 K,leading to a highly sustained strain hardening rate.The reduced impact toughness is directly related to the decreased plastic zone size,which is due to the reduced dislocation width and significant temperature dependence of the yield strength.Dae Cheol Yang Yong Hee Jo Yuji Ikeda Fritz Kormann Seok Su Sohn 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,31:0
