1A rapid advice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV) infected pneumonia(standard version)显示文摘In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named '2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)' by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. 5Altered Brain Regional Homogeneity Following Contralateral Acupuncture at Quchi (LI 11) and Zusanli (ST 36) in Ischemic Stroke Patients with Left Hemiplegia: An fMRI Study显示文摘Objective: To study the effect of contralateral acupuncture(CAT) at acupoints of Quchi(LI 11) and Zusanli(ST 36) on the unaffected limbs of ischemic stroke patients with left hemiplegia based on regional homogeneity(ReHo) indices. Methods: Ten ischemic stroke patients with left hemiplegia received CAT on right side at LI 11 and ST 36. Functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) was performed before and after acupuncture. A ReHo analytical method was used to compare brain responses of patients before and after CAT operated by REST software. Results: The stimulation at both LI 11 and ST 36 on the unaffected limbs produced significantly different neural activities. CAT elicited increased ReHo values at the right precentral gyrus and superior frontal gyrus, decreased ReHo value at right superior parietal lobule, left fusiform gyrus and left supplementary motor area. Conclusions: Acupuncture at one side could stimulate bilateral regions. CAT could evoke the gyrus which was possibly related to motor recovery from stroke. 7Amplitudes, rates, periodicities and causes of temperature variations in the past 2485 years and future trends over the central-eastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Amplitudes, rates, periodicities, causes and future trends of temperature variations based on tree rings for the past 2485 years on the central-eastern Tibetan Plateau were analyzed. The results showed that extreme climatic events on the Plateau, such as the Medieval Warm Period, Little Ice Age and 20th Century Warming appeared synchronously with those in other places worldwide. The largest amplitude and rate of temperature change occurred during the Eastern Jin Event (343-425 AD), and not in the late 20th century. There were significant cycles of 1324 a, 800 a, 199 a, 110 a and 2-3 a in the 2485-year temperature series. The 1324 a, 800 a, 199 a and 110 a cycles are associated with solar activity, which greatly affects the Earth surface temperature. The long-term trends (>1000 a) of temperature were controlled by the millennium-scale cycle, and amplitudes were dominated by multi-century cycles. Moreover, cold intervals corresponded to sunspot minimums. 11Expansion and differentiation of human hepatocyte-derived liver progenitor-like cells and their use for the study of hepatotropic pathogens显示文摘The study of pathophysiological mecha nisms in huma n liver disease has bee n constrained by the in ability to expa nd primary hepatocytes in vitro while maintaining proliferative capacity and metabolic function. We and others have previously shown that mouse mature hepatocytes can be con verted to liver progenitor-like cells in vitro with defined chemical factors. Here we describe a protocol achieving efficient conversion of human primary hepatocytes into liver progenitor-like cells (HepLPCs) through delivery of developmentally relevant cues, including NAD +-dependent deacetylase SIRT1 signaling. These HepLPCs could be expanded sign ifica ntly duri ng in vitro passage. The expa nded cells can readily be con verted back into metabolically functional hepatocytes in vitro and upon tran splantati on in vivo. Under three-dime nsional culture conditions, differentiated cells gen erated from HepLPCs regai ned the ability to support infect io n or reactivatio n of hepatitis B virus (HBV). Our work dem on strates the utility of the con versi on betwee n hepatocyte and liver proge nitor-like cells for studying HBV biology and an tiviral therapies. 12Kinetics and isotherms of Neutral Red adsorption on peanut husk显示文摘Adsorption of Neutral Red (NR) onto peanut husk in aqueous solutions was investigated at 295 K. Experiments were carried out as function of pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time, and initial concentration. The equilibrium adsorption data were analyzed by Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Dubinin-Radushkevich, and Toth isotherm models. The results indicated that the Toth and Langmuir models provided the best correlation of the experimental data. The adsorption capacity of peanut husk for the removal of NR was determined with the Langmuir and found to be 37.5 mg/g at 295 K. The adsorption kinetic data were modeled using the pseudo-first order, pseudo-second order, and intra-particle diffusion kinetic equations. It was seen that the pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order kinetic equations could describe the adsorption kinetics. The intraparticle diffusion model was also used to express the adsorption process at the two-step stage. 13Helicobacter pylori Infection is Associated with Occurrence of Proteinuria in Type 2 Diabetes Patients:A Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis显示文摘Background:Type 2diabetes (T2DM)patients are susceptible to Helicobacterpylori (HP),and it has been reported that the occurrence of proteinuria is associated with HP infection in T2DM patients;however,this view remains controversial.This meta-analysis aimed to explore the association between HP infection and the occurrence of proteinuria in T2DM patients.In addition,we hope to provide some recommendations to readers in clinical or related fields. Methods:Our meta-analysis was conducted with the methodology of the Cochrane Collaboration.Search strategies were formulated by relevant professionals.Case-control studies that compared the occurrence ofproteinuria in T2DM patients with and without HP infection were involved in our meta-analysis.Relevant English or Chinese studies were searched on online databases before 2018,including PubMed,the Cochrane library,Medline,Google Scholar,the China National Infrastructure,and Wanfang database.The search strategies were 'diabetic proteinuria,diabetic microalbuminuria,diabetic albumainuria,diabetic kidney disease,diabetic renal dysfunction,diabetic renal disease,diabetic nephropathy,diabetic complications,and diabetic mellitus,combined with HP.'The quality of these involved articles was separately assessed by two investigators using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS).Odds ratios (ORs)and associated 95% confidence intervals (CIs)were extracted and pooled using fixed-effects models. Results:Seven studies involving 1029participants were included.The quality of these seven articles was all above five stars as assessed by NOS,and there was no significant publication bias in our meta-analysis.We found that T2DM patients with HP infection had a 2.00 times higher risk of the occurrence of proteinuria than patients without HP infection (OR:2.00,95%CI:1.48-2.69). 14Clinical analysis of surgical treatment of portal hypertension显示文摘AIM: To review the experience in surgery for 508 patients with portal hypertension and to explore the selection of reasonable operation under different conditions.METHODS: The data of 508 patients with portal hypertension treated surgically in 1991-2001 in our centers were analyzed. Of the 508 patients, 256 were treated with portaazygous devascularization (PAD),167 with portasystemic shunt (PSS), 62 with selective shunt (SS), 11 with combined portasystemic shunt and portaazygous devascularization (PSS+PAD), 9 with liver transplantation (LT), 3 with union operation for hepatic carcinoma and portal hypertension (HCC+PH).RESULTS: In the 167 patients treated with PSS, free portal pressure (FPP) was significantly higher in the patients with a longer diameter of the anastomotic stoma than in those with a shorter diameter before the operation (P<0.01). After the operation, FPP in the former patients markedly decreased compared to the latter ones (P<0.01).The incidence rate of hemorrhage in patients treated with PAD, PSS, SS, PSS+PAD, and HCC+PH was 21.09% (54/256), 13.77 (23/167), 11.29 (7/62), 36.36% (4/11),and 100% (3/3), respectively. The incidence rate of hepatic encephalopathy was 3.91% (10/256), 9.58% (16/167),4.84% (3/62), 9.09% (1/11), and 100% (3/3), respectively while the operative mortality was 5.49% (15/256), 4.22% (7/167), 4.84% (3/62), 9.09% (1/11), and 66.67% (2/3) respectively. The operative mortality of liver transplantation was 22.22% (2/9).CONCLUSION: Five kinds of operation in surgical treatment of portal hypertension have their advantages and disadvantages. 15Integrative lipidomic and transcriptomic study unravels the therapeutic effects of saikosaponins A and D on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)has become one of the most prominent causes of chronic liver diseases and malignancies.However,few therapy has been approved.Radix Bupleuri(RB)is the most frequently used herbal medicine for the treatment of liver diseases.In the current study,we aim to systemically evaluate the therapeutic effects of saikosaponin A(SSa)and saikosaponin D(SSd),the major bioactive monomers in RB,against NAFLD and to investigate the underlying mechanisms.Our results demonstrated that both SSa and SSd improved diet-induced NAFLD.Integrative lipidomic and transcriptomic analysis revealed that SSa and SSd modulated glycerolipid metabolism by regulating related genes,like Lipe and Lipg.SSd profoundly suppressed the fatty acid biosynthesis by downregulating Fasn and Acaca expression and promoted fatty acid degradation by inducing Acox1 and Cpt1 a expression.Bioinformatic analysis further predicted the implication of master transcription factors,including peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha(PPARα),in the protective effects of SSa and SSd.These results were further confirmed in vitro in mouse primary hepatocytes.In summary,our study uncoded the complicated mechanisms underlying the promising anti-steatosis activities of saikosaponins(SSs),and provided critical evidence inspiring the discovery of innovative therapies based on SSa and SSd for the treatment of NAFLD and related complications.Xiaojiaoyang Li Junde Ge Yajing Li Yajie Cai Qi Zheng Nana Huang Yiqing Gu Qi Han Yunqian Li Rong Sun Runping Liu 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11:15
16Relationship of Inflammation and Endothelial Dysfunction with Risks to Cardiovascular Disease among People in Inner Mongolia of China显示文摘Objective To explore the relationship of inflammation and endothelial dysfunction with risks to cardiovascular disease(CVD).Methods Blood pressure,body weight,body height,waist circumference and lifestyle risk factors were measured and studied among 2589 participants in Inner Mongolia of China,and biomarkers of inflammation and endothelial dysfunction including high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hsCRP),soluble inter-cellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1),soluble E-selectin(sE-selectin),and angiotensin II were investigated.Results Subjects with metabolic risk factors for CVD had higher levels of hsCRP,sE-selectin and sICAM-1 than those without such risk factors(all P<0.05).Levels of all biomarkers positively and significantly increased with aggregation of the metabolic risk factors among the subjects(all P for trend<0.001).Data from the multivariate analysis showed that participants with high levels of hsCRP [odds ratio(OR): 1.96,95% confidence interval(CI): 1.52-2.53],sE-selectin(OR: 1.35,95% CI: 1.05-1.72),and angiotensin II(OR: 1.81,95% CI: 1.40-2.33) were more likely to develop hypertension; participants with high levels of hsCRP(OR: 2.33,95% CI: 1.85-2.94),sE-selectin(OR: 1.24,95% CI: 1.00-1.54),and sICAM-1(OR: 1.70,95% CI: 1.30-2.22) were more likely to develop dyslipidemia,and those with high levels of hsCRP(OR: 2.95,95% CI: 2.27-3.83) and sICAM-1(OR: 2.80,95% CI: 2.06-3.80) were more likely to develop hyperglycemia.Conclusion Biomarkers of inflammation and endothelial dysfunction were separately associated with relevant metabolic risk factors for CVD.And appropriate measures should be taken to control inflammation and improve endothelial function among individuals with different metabolic risk factors for CVD.PENG Hao HAN Shu Hai LIU Hai Ying Vasisht CHANDNI CAI Xiao Qing ZHANG Yong Hong 2013Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2013,26,10:15
17Delayed severe cytokine storm and immune cell infiltration in SARS-CoV-2-infected aged Chinese rhesus macaques显示文摘As of June 2020, Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19) has killed an estimated 440 000 people worldwide, 74% of whom were aged ≥65 years,making age the most significant risk factor for death caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2) infection. To examine the effect of age on death, we established a SARSCoV-2 infection model in Chinese rhesus macaques(Macaca mulatta) of varied ages. Results indicated that infected young macaques manifested impaired respiratory function, active viral replication, severe lung damage, and infiltration of CD11b^+ and CD8^+ cells in lungs at one-week post infection(wpi), but also recovered rapidly at 2 wpi. In contrast, aged macaques demonstrated delayed immune responses with a more severe cytokine storm, increased infiltration of CD11b^+ cells, and persistent infiltration of CD8^+ cells in the lungs at 2 wpi. In addition,peripheral blood T cells from aged macaques showed greater inflammation and chemotaxis, but weaker antiviral functions than that in cells from young macaques. 18Field evaluation of effects of transgenic cry1Ab/cry1Ac,cry1C and cry2A rice on Cnaphalocrocis medinalis and its arthropod predators显示文摘The impacts of transgenic Bt rice on target pests and their predators need to be clarified prior to the commercialization of Bt rice.In this study,the percentages of folded leaves of three transgenic Bt rice lines and non-transgenic parental rice line caused by Cnaphalocrocis medinalis were studied over two successive growing seasons.In addition,the population densities,relative abundance and population dynamics of C.medinalis and four species of its natural arthropod predators were investigated at three sites in China.The results showed that rice line significantly affected the percentages of folded leaves and population densities of C.medinalis larvae.Significantly higher percentages of folded leaves were observed on the non-transgenic rice compared with the three transgenic Bt rice on most sampling dates.Significantly higher densities of C.medinalis larvae and higher relative abundance of C.medinalis within phytophages were found on non-transgenic rice compared with three transgenic Bt rice at different sites across the study period.The population dynamics of C.medinalis larvae were significantly affected by rice line,rice line×sampling date,rice line×year,rice line×sampling date×year.However,there was little,if any,significant difference in the relative abundance,population density and population dynamics of the four arthropod predators between the three Bt rice lines and non-transgenic rice.The results of this study indicate that the Bt toxin in transgenic Bt rice can effectively suppress the occurrence of C.medinalis,but has no significant effects on the occurrence of the four predatory arthropod species.XU XueLiang HAN Yu WU Gang CAI WanLun YUAN BenQi WANG Hui LIU FangZhou WANG ManQun HUA HongXia 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,11:14
19Effect of Postharvest UV-C Irradiation on Phenolic Compound Content and Antioxidant Activity of Tomato Fruit During Storage显示文摘Mature-green tomato fruit (Solanum lycopersicum cv. Zhenfen 202) were exposed to different UV-C irradiation at 2, 4, 8, and 16 kJ m-2 and then stored under the dark at 14°C and 95% relative humidity (RH) for 35 d. Of these four doses, UV-C irradiation at 4 and 8 kJ m-2 significantly increased total phenolic contents in present tomato fruit by 21.2 and 20.2%, respectively. Furthermore, UV-C irradiation at 4 or 8 kJ m-2 promoted the accumulation of total flavonoids and increased the antioxidant activity. 2 or 16 kJ m-2 UV-C irradiation also enhanced antioxidant activity, but to a lesser extent. Seven phenolic compounds, viz., gallic acid, (+)-catechin, chlorogenic acid, cafferic acid, syringic acid, p-coumaric acid, and quercetin in tomato fruit were identified and quantified by HPLC. Gallic acid was the major phenolic compound in tomato fruit and significantly correlated with antioxidant activity. 4 or 8 kJ m-2 UV-C irradiation significantly increased the contents of gallic acid, chlorogenic acid, syringic acid, p-coumaric acid, and quercetin.
