2Protective Effect of Bacillus subtilis Peptidoglycan (PG) on β-conglycinin-induced Intestinal Epithelial Cells Damage of Juvenile Carp (Cyprinus carpio)显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to investigate the protective effects of different concentrations of Bacillus subtilis peptidoglycan(PG) on β-conglycinin-induced inflammatory injury in intestinal epithelial cells of juvenile carp(Cyprinus carpio).[Method] In 24-cell microplates, the intestinal epithelial cells(IECs) of juvenile carp were primarily cultured for 72 h at 26°C and 6% CO2, and then the IECs were randomly divided into6 groups with 4 replicates per group. One of the six groups was set as negative control group, and the other groups were all supplemented with 1.0 mg/mL β-conglycinin in culture medium to establish inflammatory injury. At 24 h post induction, the culture media were changed into B. subtilis PG culture media with the concentrations of 0(positive control group), 0.15, 0.30, 0.45 and 0.60 mg/mL, respectively. The samples were collected to measure the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory indices at 12, 24 and 36 h post culture.[Result]β-conglycinin exposure significantly decreased the activity of ASA, AHR, SOD, CAT, GPx, and increased the PC content and the mRNA expression of inflammatory cytokines(IL-1β, IL-8, TNF-α1,IL-10 and TGF-β). At 12, 24 and 36 h post PG treatment, the activities of ASA, AHR, SOD, CAT, GPx and the content of PC in cells decreased in a dose-dependent manner;the mRNA levels of IL-1β, IL-8 and TNF-α1 were down-regulated and those of IL-10 and TGF-β were up-regulated.[Conclusion] Different concentrations of B. subtilis PG could protect IECs oxidative damage induced by β-conglycinin and improve the antioxidant capacity of IECs. 3Optical and scintillation properties of Bi_4Si_3O_(12):RE(RE=Eu^(3+), Sm^(3+),Ho^(3+), Tb^(3+))single crystals显示文摘Bi_4 Si_3 O_(12):RE(BSO:RE, RE = Eu^(3+), Sm^(3+), Ho^(3+), Tb^(3+)) crystals were grown by the modified vertical Bridgeman method, and doping effects on scintillation properties were investigated. Under γ-ray irradiation, the light yield of BSO doped with small doses of Eu^(3+) increases slightly, and the energy resolution improves significantly compared to pure BSO, therefore the ability of distinguishing between particles will be improved for BSO crystals with a small amount of Eu^(3+) dopant. The results show that a small amount of Eu^(3+) doping can sensitize the Bi^(3+) ions. The sensitization effect enables the reduction of intrinsic defects, and thus improves the scintillation properties. However, the relative light yield of BSO:Tb(1.0 mol%) crystal is 4.3%, which is smaller than 5.0% of pure BSO. [Methods] The characteristics of L. bulbifera leaf, stem and powder were identified by microscopy. [Results] The main microscopic identification characteristics of the tissue structures of L. bulbifera leaf and stem at different positions and L. bulbifera powder were determined. [Conclusions] The microscopic identification results are characteristic, and could serve as the identification basis of L. bulbifera. 10Fungal spore record of pastoralism on the NE Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau since the middle Holocene显示文摘Pastoralism is considered a crucial factor in the eventual year-round occupation of high-altitude regions(>3000 m asl)of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau,and the northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau(NE-QTP)was an important corridor for early human occupation.We analyzed fossil fungal spore records for the last 8500 years from a high resolution aeolian section at Langgeri(LGR)on the NE-QTP.Thirty-two fungal spore types were identified in the LGR section,including seven coprophilous types.We combined analysis of coprophilous fungal spores,Cyperaceae,Artemisia,and Hippophae pollen,and the charcoal>50µm fraction to explore the timing and controls of pastoralism on the NE-QTP since the middle Holocene.Pastoralism commenced at LGR shortly before ca.5.5 ka and gradually increased between ca.5.5–3.5 ka,but markedly intensified after ca.2.2 ka,with three periods of growth at ca.2.1–1.9,1.4–1.2,and 0.6–0 ka,and a decline at ca.1.1–0.6 ka.The timing of changes in pastoral activity on the NE-QTP based on the coprophilous fungal spore record is supported by regional archeology and historical documents.Technological and political developments,rather than climate change,played key roles in the long-term fluctuations of regional pastoralism on the NE-QTP in the late Holocene.Haicheng WEI Chongyi E Ronglei DUAN Jing ZHANG Yongjuan SUN Guangliang HOU Jingyi GAO 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,8:1
11A Study on Genotype-by-Environment Interaction Analysis for Agronomic Traits of Maize Genotypes Across Huang-Huai-Hai Region in China显示文摘Facing the trend of increasing population,how to increase maize grain yield is a very important issue to ensure food security.In this study,28 nationally approved maize hybrids were evaluated across 24 different climatic conditions for two consecutive years(2018-2019).The purpose of this study was to select high-yield with stable genotypes and identify important agronomic traits for maize breeding program improvement.The results of this study showed that the genotypeenvironment interaction effects of the 12 evaluated agronomic traits was highly significant(P<0.001).We introduced a novel multi-trait genotype-ideotype distance index(MGIDI)to select genotypes based on multiple agronomic traits.The selection process exhibited by this method is unique and easy to understand,so the MGIDI index will have more and more important applications in future multi-environment trials(METs)research.The genotypes selected by the MGIDI index were G22,G10,G12 and G1 as the high yielding and stable genotypes.The parents of these selected genotypes have the ability to play a greater role as the basic germplasm in the breeding process.A new form of genotype(G)main effects and genotype(G)-by-environment(E)interaction(GGE)technician,genotypeyieldtrait(GYT)biplot,based on multiple traits for genotypes selection was also applied in this study.The GYT biplot ranked genotypes by combining grain yield with other evaluated agronomic traits,and displayed the distribution of their traits,namely strengths and weaknesses.Haiwang Yue Jianwei Wei Junliang Xie Shuping Chen Haicheng Peng Hongmei Cao Junzhou Bu Xuwen Jiang 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,1:1

13Characterization of the retinal vasculature in fundus photos using the PanOptic iExaminer system显示文摘Background:The goal was to characterize retinal vasculature by quantitative analysis of arteriole-to-venule(A/V)ratio and vessel density in fundus photos taken with the PanOptic iExaminer System.Methods:The PanOptic ophthalmoscope equipped with a smartphone was used to acquire fundus photos centered on the optic nerve head.Two fundus photos of a total of 19 eyes from 10 subjects were imaged.Retinal vessels were analyzed to obtain the A/V ratio.In addition,the vessel tree was extracted using deep learning U-NET,and vessel density was processed by the percentage of pixels within vessels over the entire image.Results:All images were successfully processed for the A/V ratio and vessel density.There was no significant difference of averaged A/V ratio between the first(0.77±0.09)and second(0.77±0.10)measurements(P=0.53).There was no significant difference of averaged vessel density(%)between the first(6.11±1.39)and second(6.12±1.40)measurements(P=0.85).Conclusions:Quantitative analysis of the retinal vasculature was feasible in fundus photos taken using the PanOptic ophthalmoscope.The device appears to provide sufficient image quality for analyzing A/V ratio and vessel density with the benefit of portability,easy data transferring,and low cost of the device,which could be used for pre-clinical screening of systemic,cerebral and ocular diseases.Huiling Hu Haicheng Wei Mingxia Xiao Liqiong Jiang Huijuan Wang Hong Jiang Tatjana Rundek Jianhua Wang 2020Eye and Vision2020,7,1:0
14Pharmacognostic Study on Adenanthera pavonina Linn.var.microsperma显示文摘[Objectives]To study the pharmacognosy of the stems and leaves of Adenanthera pavonina Linn.var.microsperma and to provide reference materials for clinical application and further development and utilization.[Methods]The stems and leaves were sliced by paraffin section method,and the tissue structure and microscopic characteristics were observed by routine microscopic technique.[Results]It was found that the epidermal cell wall was red with unicellular non-glandular hairs,the phloem fiber bundles were arranged in rings,and the xylem vessels were large and few,arranged in the shape of'V'.The non-glandular hairs in the cross section of leaves were mostly unicellular,and the palisade tissues were in 2-3 rows.Most of the vessels in the powder were with marginal pores and crystal sheath fibers,and there were a lot of non-glandular hairs in single cells.[Conclusions]The above characteristics can be used as the main basis for the identification of Adenanthera pavonina Linn.var.microsperma.Wei WEI Yongjing SU Wanxiang MENG Haicheng WEN Songji WEI 2022Medicinal Plant2022,13,1:0

16Tunable emission properties of core-shell ZnCuInS-ZnS quantum dots with enhanced fluorescence intensity显示文摘Cadmium-free I-III-VI quantum dots(QDs), represented by Cu-In-S(CIS), are widely investigated for their non-toxicity and tunable emission properties. In this work, Zn-Cu-In-S(ZCIS) alloyed QDs were synthesized via a solvothermal approach by heating up a mixture of the corresponding metal precursors and sulphur powder with dodecanethiol in oleylamine media, and the fluorescent intensity was greatly enhanced by coating ZnS(ZS) shell. By changing the ratio of Cu, the as prepared ZCIS-ZS QDs showed composition-tunable photoluminescent(PL) emission over the visible spectral window from about 500 nm to 620 nm, which is much wider than that of CIS QDs. 19Study on the Pharmacological Identification of Polygonum capitatum显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to establish a microscopic identification method of Polygonum capitatum Buch.Ham.ex D.Don.[Methods]The cross sections were identified by microscopic identification.[Results]The stem cross section of P.capitatum is round-like,and shows pericyclic fibers forming a ring,strongly lignified,many vascular bundles,and a hollow pith part.There are many starch granules in the powder,and single granules are more common;and fibers are mostly bundled or scattered,lignified or non-lignified,and calcium oxalate cluster crystals are common.There are many pollen grains,obtuse triangular or round-like,and some of them have three germination apertures.They have fine thorn-like protrusions on the outer wall,the surface of which has reticulate carvings.[Conclusions]The results of microscopic identification are reliable and can be used as the basis for identification of P.capitatum.Wei WEI Huagang LIU Huarong HE Lihua FAN Qiuyan LU Dan LAN Haicheng WEN Songji WEI 2022Agricultural Biotechnology2022,11,1:0
20Pharmacognosy of Brazilian Ginseng ( Pfaffia paniculata)显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to explore the pharmacognostical features of Brazilian ginseng( Pfaffia paniculata),and to provide a theoretical basis for its development and utilization. [Method] Morphological traits of Brazilian ginseng root were observed with traditional methods. Then,the root,stem and leaf of Brazilian ginseng were sliced,and observed under a microscope. The physical and chemical properties of root extract were detected. [Result] Brazilian ginseng root is elongated and cylindrical,with obvious longitudinal ridges and sparse root marks,some irregularly shaped lenticels on the surface. The cork layer of crosssection has five or more rows of cork cells. The abnormal vascular bundles are arranged in two to three rings. There are two to three central vascular bundles. The wood fibers in powder are long,with one bifurcate end. The vessels have bordered pits. The sand crystals are scattered or in the parenchyma surrounding the fibers.The mucilage cells are oval and widely exist. Physical and chemical experiments showed that the root of Brazilian ginseng contains sterols or triterpenes and saponins.
