Quantitative characterization of reservoir space in the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Shale, southern Sichuan,China显示文摘Based on the drilling data of the Upper Ordovician Wufeng Shale and the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Shale in southern Sichuan Basin, the construction of matrix pores and the development condition of fractures in a marine organic-rich shale are quantitatively evaluated through the establishment of the reservoir petrophysical models and porosity mathematical models. Our studies show that there are four major characteristics of the Longmaxi Shale confirmed by the quantitative characterization:(1)the pore volume of per unit mass is the highest in organic matter, followed in clay minerals, finally in brittle minerals;(2)the porosity of the effective shale reservoir is moderate and equal to that of the Barnett Shale, and the main parts of the shale reservoir spaces are interlayer pores of clay minerals and organic pores;(3)the porosity of the organic-rich shale is closely related to TOC and brittle mineral/clay mineral ratio, and mainly increases with TOC and clay mineral content;(4)fractures are developed in this black shale, and are mainly micro ones and medium-large ones.In the Longmaxi Shale, the fracture density increases from top to bottom, reflecting the characteristics with high brittle mineral content, high Young’s modulus, low Poisson's ratio and high brittleness at its bottom.WANG YuMan DONG DaZhong YANG Hua HE Ling WANG ShiQian HUANG JinLiang PU BoLing WANG ShuFang 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,2:36
ZnO varistors with high voltage gradient and low leakage current by doping rare-earth oxide显示文摘The surge arrester of 1000 kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) needs ZnO varistor with high voltage gradient to effectively improve the potential distribution along ZnO varistor column inside the metal-oxide surge arresters. In this paper, the elec-trical and structural parameters of ZnO varistors are changed by doping with some rare-earth oxides, and the mechanism which leads these changes is discussed. When rare-earth oxide additives are added into ZnO varistors, the growing speed is slowed down due to the stabilization of the new spinel phases formed in the grain-boundary by rare-earth oxide additives, then the size of ZnO grains is smaller, and the voltage gradient of varistor increases obviously. By adding suitable amount of oxides of metal Co and Mn, the leakage current can be effectively decreased and the nonlinearity coefficient increased. The novel ZnO varistor samples sintered with the optimal additives have a voltage gradient of 492 V/mm, and the nonlinearity coefficient of 76, but their leakage currents are only 1 μA.HE JinLiang HU Jun LIN YuanHua 2008Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,6:21
Fractal model of lightning channel for simulating lightning strikes to transmission lines显示文摘How to accurately evaluate the direct-strike lightning protection is one of the key issues in the design of transmission lines. In this paper, three important issues in applying the fractal simulation to the lightning protection of transmission lines were discussed, including the criteria and implementation of upward leader inception, the connection with the magnitude of lightning current, and the calculation and control of fractal dimensions. Then we conducted the simulation iterately, leading to statistical results, which indicate that even if the transmission line satisfies the perfect shielding condition, shielding failure fault remains possible. Furthermore, we calculated the shielding failure fault rates of an EHV line with different ground obliquities and distribution of strike points over the interval between two neighboring towers along a UHV-DC line to find out the weak point of transmission-line lightning protection. This work provides a promising approach for improving the lightning protection property of transmission lines by optimizing the configuration of shielding wires and phase or pole conductors.HE JinLiang ZHANG XueWei DONG Lin ZENG Rong LIU ZeHong 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,11:12
Requirement of ultra-high voltage GIS arrester to voltage gradient of metal-oxide varistor显示文摘The surge arrester with excellent protection characteristics would decrease the overvoltage level ap- plied on the power apparatus to reduce their insulation levels and manufacturing bottleneck. The arrester for the 1000-kV ultra-high voltage ac power transmission system is designed as tank-type structure. The field-circuit combination numerical method combining the three-dimensional finite element method with circuit is proposed to analyze the potential distribution of GIS arrester. By comparing several design schemes, the most effective method to improve the potential distribution along the varistor column is to increase the voltage gradient of the ZnO varistor. Synthesizing several influential factors, the suitable voltage gradient of ZnO varistor should be controlled to 435 V/mm, and the resulted nonuniform degree of the potential distribution along the varistor column inside the GIS arrester would be controlled smaller than 10%. The result in this paper provides the fundamental technical index for the study of the high voltage gradient ZnO varistors.HE JinLiang HU Jun MENG BoWen ZHANG Bo ZHU Bin CHEN ShuiMing ZENG Rong 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,2:10

Surface-modification effect of MgO nanoparticles on the electrical properties of polypropylene nanocomposite显示文摘Polypropylene(PP)-based nanocomposite is a promising insulation material for recyclable high-voltage direct current(HVDC)cables, where the coupling agent plays an important role.In this study, four silane coupling agents with different alkyl chain groups(methyl, propyl, octyl, and octadecyl)were used to surface-modify magnesium oxide(MgO)nanoparticles. The surface-modification effect on the electrical properties of PP/MgO nanocomposites was investigated. The results show that surface-modified nanoparticles introduce quantities of deep traps, whose quantity increases as the alkyl chain length increases. The similar tendency also occurs on DC volume resistivity. All these nanocomposites show remarkable space charge suppression ability and improved DC breakdown strength.Among them, the nanocomposites with octyl-modified MgO show the best electrical properties, which could be attributed to the introduction of a large quantity of deep traps. The work may give a reference for the selection of coupling agents in PP-based nanocomposite insulation material for HVDC cable.Shixun Hu Yao Zhou Chao Yuan Wei Wang Jun Hu Qi Li Jinliang He 2020High Voltage2020,5,3:6
Numerical study on convective heat transfer of supercritical CO_(2) in vertically upward and downward tubes显示文摘The experimental measurement of supercritical pressure carbon dioxide(sCO_(2))heat transfer in vertical downward flow was performed in a circular tube with inner diameter of 10 mm.Then,a three-dimensional numerical investigation of sCO_(2)heat transfer in upward and downward flows was performed in a vertical heated circular tube. The influence of heat flux, mass flux, and operating pressure on heat transfer under different flow directions were discussed.According to the'pseudo-phase transition'viewpoint to supercritical fluids, the analogy to the subcritical inverted-annular film boiling model, the physical model to sCO_(2)heat transfer was established, where fluid region at the cross-section of circular tube was divided into gas-like region covering heated wall and core liquid-like phase region. Then, the thermal resistance mechanism which comprehensively reflected the effect of multiple factors including the thickness of the gas-like film or liquid-like region, fluid properties and turbulence on heat diffusion was proposed.Surprisingly, thermal resistance variation in upward flow is well identical with that of wall temperature and heat transfer deterioration is predicted successfully. In addition, compared with thermal resistance in the core liquid-like region,gas-like film formation is determined to be the primary factor affecting heat transfer behavior. Results also show that total thermal resistance in upward flow is always larger than that in downward flow. The investigation can provide valuable guide to design and optimize sCO_(2)heaters.YAN ChenShuai XU JinLiang ZHU BingGuo HE XiaoTian LIU GuangLin 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,5:6

Microstructures and characteristics of deep trap levels in ZnO varistors doped with Y_2O_3显示文摘In this paper discussions on ZnO based varistor ceramics doped with different ratios of Y2O3 are presented.Analysis on the phase and microstructures of the samples indicates that an additional phase is detected in the samples doped with Y2O3,and the average grain size of the specimens decreases from about 9.2μm to 4.5μm,with an increase in the addition of Y2O3 from 0 mol%to 3 mol%.The corresponding varistor’s voltage gradient markedly increases from 462 V/mm to 2340 V/mm,while the nonlinear coefficient decreases from 22.3 to 11.5,respectively.Furthermore,the characteristics of deep trap levels in these ZnO samples are investigated by measuring their dielectric spectroscopies. The trap energy level and capture cross section evaluated by relaxation peak of the Cole-Cole plot vary slightly as the addition of Y2O3 increases. These traps may be ascribed to the intrinsic defects of ZnO lattice.LIU Jun 1 ,HU Jun 1 ,HE JinLiang 1 ,LIN YuanHua 2 &LONG WangCheng 1 1State Key Laboratory of Power Systems,Department of Electrical Engineering,Tsinghua University,Beijing 100084,China 2State Key Laboratory of New Ceramics and Fine Processing,Department of Material Science and Engineering,Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084,China 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,12:5

Increased mtDNA copy number promotes cancer progression by enhancing mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer显示文摘Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide.According to global genomic status, colorectal cancer can be classified into two main types:microsatellite-stable and microsatellite-instable tumors. Moreover, the two subtypes also exhibit different responses to chemotherapeutic agents through distinctive molecular mechanisms.Recently, mitochondrial DNA depletion has been shown to induce apoptotic resistance in microsatellite-instable colorectal cancer. However, the effects of altered mitochondrial DNA copy number on the progression of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer, which accounts for the majority of colorectal cancer, remain unclear. In this study,we systematically investigated the functional role of altered mitochondrial DNA copy number in the survival and metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells. Moreover, the underlying molecular mechanisms were also explored. Our results demonstrated that increased mitochondrial DNA copy number by forced mitochondrial transcription factor A expression significantly facilitated cell proliferation and inhibited apoptosis of microsatellitestable colorectal cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo. Moreover,we demonstrated that increased mitochondrial DNA copy number enhanced the metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells.Mechanistically, the survival advantage conferred by increased mitochondrial DNA copy number was caused in large part by elevated mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation.Furthermore, treatment with oligomycin significantly suppressed the survival and metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells with increased mitochondrial DNA copy number. Our study provides evidence supporting a possible tumor-promoting role for mitochondrial DNA and uncovers the underlying mechanism, which suggests a potential novel therapeutic target for microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer.Xiacheng Sun Lei Zhan Yibing Chen Gang Wang Linjie He Qian Wang Feng Zhou Fang Yang Jin Wu Yousheng Wu Jinliang Xing Xianli He Qichao Huang 2018Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2018,3,1:3
Effects of manganese dioxide additives on the electrical characteristics of Al-doped ZnO varistors显示文摘The effects of manganese dioxide (MnO 2 ) additives on the electrical characteristics of the Al-doped ZnO varistors are investigated. The leakage current densities of the samples decrease first and then increase again with the increase of the amount of MnO 2 additives. Correspondingly, the nonlinear coefficients of the samples keep on increasing and then decrease. In addition, the donor densities increase monotonously with the amount of the doped MnO 2 increasing. The effects of MnO 2 additives on the electrical characteristics of the samples are different from the conclusion of previous literatures. The reasons of the distinct effects are supposed to be related with the donor and interface state densities of the samples.LONG WangCheng HU Jun HE JinLiang LIU Jun ZENG Rong 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,8:3
The dependence of sintering temperature on Schottky barrier and bulk electron traps of ZnO varistors显示文摘In order to investigate the influence of sintering temperature on the Schottky barrier and bulk electron traps of ZnO varistors,ZnO-Bi2O3 based varistor ceramic samples were sintered at 1000,1100,1200 and 1300°C,respectively.The measured results indicate that the sample sintered at 1300°C possesses the lowest voltage gradient and nonlinear coefficient, compared with other samples. The barrier height of the samples decreased as the sintering temperature increased, which resulted in the deterioration of nonlinearity.Furthermore, two bulk electron traps determined by admittance spectroscopy were generally independent of sintering temperature, which indicated that these two traps might originate from the intrinsic defects in ZnO lattice.LIU Jun HE JinLiang HU Jun LONG WangCheng 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,2:3

Octavinyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane on tailoring the DC electrical characteristics of polypropylene显示文摘This work reports the effect of octavinyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(OvPOSS)on tuning the electrical performance of polypropylene(PP).OvPOSS with different content are introduced into PP using the solution method. The microstructural morphology, crystallinity behaviour, breakdown strength,DC conductivity, space charge formation, and trapping level distribution are measured. The results indicate that the OvPOSS nanofiller can be dispersed uniformly with a doping content of 2.0 phr or less. The DC conductivity is decreased, and the breakdown strength of OvPOSS/PP nano-composites is significantly increased. The space charge accumulation of the OvPOSS/PP nanocomposites is significantly suppressed due to the introduction of deeper traps by the OvPOSS nanofiller. Finally, the experimental results demonstrate that the OvPOSS nanofiller can greatly increase the electrical performance of the base PP and the OvPOSS/PP nanocomposites have much potential for HVDC applications. They further demonstrate that the PP is environmental‐friendly due to its thermo‐plastic property, which can be recycled after the manufacture.Xiaosi Lin Wah Hoon Siew John Liggat Martin Given Jinliang He 2022High Voltage2022,7,1:2
Effect of different surface treatment agents on the physical chemistry and electrical properties of polyethylene nano-alumina nanocomposites显示文摘Generally, the electrical properties of nanocomposite are affected by the type, size, filling concentration and surface treatment process of the nanoparticle. In this study, nanocomposites of polyethylene(PE)with varying filling contents of nanoalumina particles were prepared by the melting blending method and three different kinds of coupling agents were applied for surface modification properties of the nanoparticles. Two of them were silane based and the other was titanate based. The effect of different coupling agents on the dielectric properties was studied.Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and thermo-gravimetric analysis were used to verify their compositions.Scanning electron microscope and polarised optical microscopy were used for morphology study.Dielectric permittivity, direct current(DC)volume resistivity and DC breakdown strength characterised their improved insulation performance with nano-alumina as filler.Thermal stimulated current results revealed that adding nano-alumina particles into low-density PE could provide more deep traps and increase DC resistivity.Xuhui Duan Wah Hoon Siew Martin Given John Liggat Jinliang He 2020High Voltage2020,5,4:2
Histones released by NETosis enhance the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 by bridging the spike protein subunit 2 and sialic acid on host cells显示文摘Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)can capture and kill viruses, such as influenza viruses, human immunodeficiency virus(HIV),and respiratory syncytial virus(RSV),thus contributing to host defense.Contrary to our expectation,we show here that the histones released by NETosis enhance the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2,as found by using live SARS-CoV-2 and two pseudovirus systems as well as a mouse model. The histone H3 or H4 selectively binds to subunit 2 of the spike(S)protein,as shown by a biochemical binding assay, surface plasmon resonance and binding energy calculation as well as the construction of a mutant S protein by replacing four acidic amino acids.Sialic acid on the host cell surface is the key molecule to which histones bridge subunit 2 of the S protein. Moreover, histones enhance cell-cell fusion. Finally, treatment with an inhibitor of NETosis, histone H3 or H4,or sialic acid notably affected the levels of sgRNA copies and the number of apoptotic cells in a mouse model. These findings suggest that SARS-CoV-2 could hijack histones from neutrophil NETosis to promote its host cell attachment and entry process and may be important in exploring pathogenesis and possible strategies to develop new effective therapies for COVID-19.Weiqi Hong Jingyun Yang Jun Zou Zhenfei Bi Cai He Hong Lei Xuemei He Xue Li Aqu Alu Wenyan Ren Zeng Wang Xiaohua Jiang Kunhong Zhong Guowen Jia Yun Yang Wenhai Yu Qing Huang Mengli Yang Yanan Zhou Yuan Zhao Dexuan Kuang Junbin Wang Haixuan Wang Siyuan Chen Min Luo Ziqi Zhang Tiangi Lu Li Chen Haiying Que Zhiyao He Qiu Sun Wei Wang Guobo Shen Guangwen Lu Zhiwei Zhao Li Yang Jinliang Yang Zhenling Wang Jiong Li Xiangrong Song Lunzhi Dai Chong Chen Jia Geng Maling Gou Lu Chen Haohao Dong Yong Peng Canhua Huang Zhiyong Qian Wei Cheng Changfa Fan Yuquan Wei Zhaoming Su Aiping Tong Shuaiyao Lu Xiaozhong Peng Xiawei Wei 2022Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,5:2
Designing HVDC GIS/GIL spacer to suppress charge accumulation显示文摘To suppress the charge accumulation on the spacer surface in direct current(DC)gas insulated transmission line(GIL)is an important and emergent issue for the development of a clean, safe and economic smart grid.A design method of the DC spacer is proposed, and a spacer prototype is prepared and evaluated both by simulation and type test. The DC withstand voltage test and polarity reversal test are performed using the new DC spacer compared with a commercialised 220 kVAC spacer. The simulation results indicate that the surface electric field and surface charge of the DC spacer are lower than those of the alternating current(AC)spacer under DC voltage. The test results verify that the surface flashover voltage of this DC spacer is higher than that of the AC spacer. The potential feasibility of the spacer design for HVDC is discussed. It is hoped that the content of this paper can bring new ideas in the development of HVDC gas insulated equipment.Zuodong Liang Chuanjie Lin Fangwei Liang Weijian Zhuang Yujia Xu Lingling Tang Yulin Zeng Jun Hu Bo Zhang Chuanyang Li Jinliang He 2022High Voltage2022,7,4:2
